Was in the area, so we decided to stop by for a quick drink. To our surprise, They were serving a zilker sour, which was nice and refreshing. Staff was attentive and it was not busy when we went in so that was a plus. They have a pickle ball court available to use and it's fun to watch others play while enjoying your beverage. Pickleball & Beer? Yes, please. Ok, no, because I am not good at sports, but give me a beer and I might be. This is a cool concept in and around Austin, and Ants gets it right. In addition, they have billiards and games (like the kind you'd find in an arcade). The food options are The Pizza Den food truck as well as Knuckle Sandwich. Coolers packed with canned brewskies and other beverages. It's like a convenience store for beer. Overall, it's a grown-up playground that allows dogs & kids, lol. read more

I really like this cute little place at The Yard. I frequent the area because of it's proximity to work and Ants is one of the Go To places. I like that it offers pickleball (both an indoor and outdoor court) along with some arcade basket ball games. This keeps us actively while we eat and drink the night away. I think the food here is from The Pizza Den Food Truck. I'm not sure if Ants has their own food, but I've only gotten food form the truck, which is good. They are known for their elotes pizza, which is good; however my picky eater family is not a huge fan of their pizza. My kids prefer the traditional pizza toppings and mozzarella cheese. I also like that even though it is called a "beer" cave, they offer a variety of drinks including wines and cocktails. Since, I prefer cocktails and my husband prefers beer, we always end up here. Fun place to play pickleball with friends and family. One court is inside and air conditioned. The other is outside and covered so you can play even if it rains. Family friendly with two courts, a pool table, and an outrageously expensive basketball game. Plenty of parking. Food truck with pizza outside. Located in south Austin near St. Elmo's brewery, Ants Beer Cave is a great place to bring your friends to hang. They have 2 pickleball courts, one inside and one outside, basketball game, and pool table. They also have multiple TVs to watch sports game with large projector screen projecting most popular game. My husband and I came to watch Sweet Sixteen. It does cost money to use pickleball courts, though on Thursday nights it is free. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and great for large groups as their tables easily 10-12 people. Dog friendly as well with dogs on the patio. Food wise they have two food trucks, Knuckle sandwich and the Pizza Den. Know that both trucks close by 8 pm even on Saturday so don't trust Yelp saying it closes at 9 pm. Beer wise at least for us it was a limited menu, but my husband enjoyed his hazy IPA. This is a great place to come hang with your friend in large group! Parking is free in front. read more

The beer and wine collection is nice and the pizza joint outside is delicious. It's thin crust and piping hot and the sauce has depth and flavors and is not just salty. There's a decent amount of picnic tables indoors and outdoors and high tops for big and small groups. Staff were so friendly. I really liked playing pickleball here! There was a league right at 7PM, sometimes the time slots on weekdays are tough to get. Oh, Thursdays there is free pickleball! read more

I absolutely love this place for so many reasons! First of all, the Pickle Ball having an inside core and an outside court is 1st rate! Plus the FREE open play glow-in-the-dark option on Thursday nights is awesome and a great way to meet people and what's even more amazing is that its different from what anyone else is doing! The staff are amazing (Cole is THE BEST). I've never had anyone be rude to me once...everyone is super chill even the people that go there. Now let's talk about the food! You can't go wrong with the pizza which I've eaten on multiple occasions, or the sandwich sandwiches. I think this might be one of my favorite places in Austin at the moment!! The people that come there are really down to earth as well unlike some other places where people take Pickle Ball a little too seriously! The cashier offered us recommendations and comments on the drink we purchased. There's a gravel outdoor patio with picnic tables outside and a couple pickleball courts plus a court inside as well. We went for trivia on Monday and it was so fun! There were 5 or so team and it only lasted a little over an hour. The pizza den was the highlight! Ants beer cave is a super cool spot to play some indoor pickleball and have some drinks with friends at the yard on st Elmo street. The owners are super nice and they have a pizza and sandwich food truck out in their patio that are both great. Both being brand new, The pizza den is good pizza with extremely friendly service, and Knuckle sandwich is the same but with sandwiches. I went to knuckle sandwich for lunch one day and they rushed my order to me because I was in a rush which I greatly appreciate. The sandwich itself was awesome and up there for best subs in Austin but you definitely pay for it as it's almost $20 after tax and tip for a 9" sandwich.
