[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a very casual place on the UT campus.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Order at the counter and they call your name when your food is ready. [[HIGHLIGHT]]While we waited I perused the large selection of books and games on one wall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food was good and husband really liked the thick onion rings. Decent selection of beer on tap.

Posse East has been in Austin for over 51 years and their burgers are classic. I got the cheeseburger and the patties looked hand shaped. The meat had a good mix so once cooked it was moist and beefy. I also liked how it was salted just right. There are too many places that just over salt their burgers or under salt them and over salting to me is worst. They also managed to balance the richness of the beef and fats so you didn't feel full at first bite but satisfied after finishing the burger. Just the right mix of Mayo and mustard. There is no need for ketchup on these burgers! The greens and the onions gave it a good texture. Wash it down with a beer and everything is all right.

So we thought we would make a whole night of it. Tiffany did make reservations for us for 7pm and even though this is a bar hopping neighborhood, even at 7pm it was pretty busy. Streets were full of people. Anthem had a vibe. I felt the energy as soon as I waked in. The cozy booths with the U shaped seating with plush green velvet fabric. Wait staff wore Hawaiian shirts. Sitting up behind me on a ledge was the Easter Island statue. Insert (Night At The Museum) here, dumb dumb give me gum gum. Anthem was our first stop tonight. Just drinks and a dinner. I ordered the Peach Fuzzy drink. Not too sweet, refreshing, peachy, and beautiful garnish of a flower. I ordered the Yummy Fries which looked like a salad. Gorgeous presentation. Fries were actually waffle sweet potatoes. Pickled ginger, sesame seeds, furikake, aïoli and a few other wonderful ingredients. Could not get over how beautiful everything looked. Presentation outstanding. Service delightful. Had a wonderful time at Anthem. We both did use the ladies rooms before leaving. Inside the bathroom there is a sign about safety and if you need assistants. I did take a picture of it. On our way out, Brian the manager, said good night to us and waved. We later saw Brian at another place. And I'll write about that in my review for that place as well. Brian, you're Doll, thank you for your hospitality.

Salmon Poke (4.5/5) was incredible. Salmon was fresh, creamy and has a nice balance from the nutty sesame dressing. Paired with pickled cucumber was just heaven. We also really enjoyed their crispy nori they served, which can be used to scoop up the poke. The brisket Rangoon (4/5) is a nice take on the collab of Asian and Texas cuisine. Must try! The char-buff cauliflower (3.4/5) was also yummy but unfortunately they went overboard on the sauce. Cocktails were all delicious and you can definitely feel the alcohol. Perfect HH stop when you are on this side of town!

I stopped today with my husband and absolutely LOVED it, I'm definitely gonna be back!!…read moreBut let me tell you more! The indoor is very beautiful and smells like cinnamon and apple (a scent that I love), especially going towards the bathrooms. Theres a bar section with plenty of seating and the room inside the restaurant is overall very spacious. I didn't see much of the indoor as I decided to sit outside in the patio. Although being during the Texas summer, the patio has plenty of (very powerful) fans! The view of the green belt next to the restaurant is amazing, and there is also an outdoor bar, which gives impeccable vibes. We ordered two starters and had plenty of food! My husband ordered the Barbacoa Stackers (slow roasted barbacoa, refried black beans, Jack cheese, JAK slaw, Cotija cheese) I personally loved them! The meat was tasty and juicy, the black beans were perfectly cooked and everything was so rich in flavor. Definitely a 10/10! I ordered the Homemade Buttermilk Biscuit, served with honey & seasonal fruit flavored butter (with a side of yummy bacon) Today they had strawberry flavor, and there was even strawberry jam. I have to be honest, THE BEST biscuits I've ever had in my life! And I love me some good biscuits! They were buttery and crumbly to the right point! The strawberry butter with the strawberry jam was the perfect combo! We were told the biscuits are made fresh every morning, and I love that! It was definitely a 1000/10! We also got some chips and salsa. Chips are very crunchy, and the salsa is spicy to the right point! Now I'm building my tolerance with the spicy and this salsa was really yummy, and can build up the spice! The waiter who served it to us, brought it over in a small mason jar and emptied it in the little container for our table, which was something I've never seen done like this. Definitely appreciated it! Makes me think they make their own salsa (forgot to check on that!) They also gave us a complimentary pita bread with pimento, and it was delicious! The pita bread was very crunchy and salty to the right point! They even gifted me a portion of peach and strawberry cobbler, topped with ice cream, for my birthday and it was insane! The flavor was perfectly sweet and mixed with the ice cream was very refreshing and still warm and melting in my mouth! Probably one of the best cobblers I've ever had! And keep in mind, we got here that we weren't feeling super hungry, and yet we were able to appreciate every single bite cause it was so good!! Last but not least - Ali, our server, was incredible! She was so nice throughout the whole dining experience and made sure we had everything we needed. She was so kind to ask if I could add peach puree to my freshly squeezed lemonade (which is a 10/10), and even made sure I had plenty of strawberry butter for my biscuits. We definitely took some leftovers home and I can't wait to have the remaining biscuit in the morning!

After spending some time in Austin I was looking for something. That was NOT MEXICAN. Don't get me wrong I love Mexican or Tex-Mex but this NE statesman needs a variety that is closer to home. The jalapeños were just like how I do it at home, sometimes I use Boursin cheese mixed in the cream cheese to get it a little more ridged when you cook it.
