Pool Burger is a laid-back neighborhood spot. The name makes sense, it sits just north of the Deep Eddy parking lot, so you're just as likely to see folks fresh from a swim as you are people out for burgers and tiki drinks. From the signs it looks like you're not supposed to part AT Deep Eddy pool, but street parking is a little tight. You order at the counter, grab your drink there too, and they'll hand you a buzzer for when your food's ready, which you'll pick up behind a retro trailer that doubles as their kitchen. It's casual, it's a little chaotic on weekends, but it's part of the charm. The burgers are excellent and I love their topping selection. I'm a sucker for crinkle-cut fries, and theirs are some of the best around. I swap ketchup for thousand island, but that's just my personal quirk. Drink-wise, anything on the rocks is a solid bet. They are all served with that chewable nugget ice. The only miss for me was the frozen hurricane. Tasted a little too much like pineapple concentrate for my liking. They've got misters for those brutal Texas afternoons, a good playlist, and a no-frills, all-fun atmosphere. Definitely a spot worth visiting if you're in the area.

Got recommend by a friend to try pool burger and they don't disappoint! the place had great burgers and the fries were crispy, the drinks were even better. the service was quick and the servers were very nice. does get busy over the weekend!

Really great vibes here! After a day of swimming, this was the perfect spot to grab a bite. We had swimsuits and coverups on, and many other people did as well so it was a very laidback/beachy environment. I love a good veggie burger, and the hippy burger was yummy. We didn't order any drinks, but those also looked good!

Southern Cali surf bungalow meets tiki bar meets elevated concession stand. Located next to the Deep Eddy pool making it the ideal location for a pre or post swim meal. For us, it's all about the post swim. The Wagyu beef (all-natural, no additives) is sourced from a Texas farm. The buns are super-fresh and baked daily. The texture of the buns compliments the meat and toppings making for some pretty exquisite burgers. I love the Pool Cheeseburger. It comes with lettuce, tomato, cheese, mayo, mustard, and onion. I order without the mayo and mustard. My boyfriend loses his mind for the Blue Hawaiian burger the way Moondoggie would do a rodeo flip for Gidget. Blue Hawaiian comes with Wagyu beef, grilled pineapple, blue cheese, bacon and thousand island dressing. Crinkle cut fries are cooked to a perfect golden brown. Pool chips with guacamole and jalapeño pimento is a great snack or burger side. The tiki bar drinks menu has all the classics, some with a twist, and more. The frozen hurricanes go down smooth and easy with flavor lasting until the last gulp. The bungalow/patio setup is the epitome of 60s Cali beach life. Fun decor. It's not a large place and it's pretty much always packed but usually by the time you place your order, a table opens up. Vintage Airstream trailer on property for food pick-up and soft-serve ice cream. As busy as they are everyone working is happy and fun. Surfin' Good Fun, Food, & Bevies!

We love pool burger!! The happy hour is a great time to go - I think from 3-5 during the week! Sometimes this place can get super packed in the summer with lines so definitely avoid peak times but we love going right after a nice swim at deep eddy pool. The decor is cute and very island vibe - the frozen hurricane is $6 for happy hour - frozen rum passionfruit drink - super delicious! We normally just get the original pool burger with cheese and I do mine with a lettuce wrap! The pool chips with guacamole and pimento cheese also half off during happy hour and a must!! We love these so much we ordered two orders the first time we went lol

This is a great happy hour spot. It only runs from 3-5, so plan accordingly! Half priced drinks and only $1 to add a floater to their hurricane...hence why there are four hurricanes in the picture.

Horrible service and people. They don't close until 1am and at 11pm rather than telling patrons they are closing early they turned the music up to a deafening level and ignored everyone until they left. Very very immature for an establishment and they should be embarrassed they can't communicate properly like a functioning adult.

Super overpriced and the food was absolutely mediocre. The tiki bar and the seating area were cute though.

The burger was pretty good, slightly dry, but still tasty! I loved the atmosphere, everyone was in swimsuits right after the pools, creating such a fun and lively vibe, and there's a bar outside too. It was very packed with a relatively long line, but the food came out quickly. Definitely a fun spot to hang out!

**Food:** The burgers had a good flavor. The Hawaiian burger was particularly enjoyable, with the blue cheese and pineapple providing a well-balanced taste. The double cheeseburger featured crispy bacon and a juicy patty. Additionally, the bread was fresh. **Service:** The establishment follows a self-service model where you order and pick it up at the window. There is no table service. **Ambiance:** The ambiance is suitable for small groups but not recommended for dates due to the noise level. There is no dress code. If you bring children, be aware that you might see some patrons dressed in revealing swimwear, akin to beach attire. **Price:** The prices are average for the area. However, the drinks were expensive for what they offered. There is nothing particularly special about the place, except for its proximity to the Colorado River. I'm not sure if I will be back, but I won't mind if I'm in the area.

Come for good burgers, tasty drinks and the tiki friendly ambiance ! Pool Burger is one of my top favorite places to grab a burger in Austin that's not fast food. Meat patty are smash like burger thin with crunchy crisp iceberg lettuce, and always served on a nice soft seared bun. I would say Pool Burger is along the lines of In-n-Out but a step above especially with the option the add bacon! Service can get a bit slow when they get busy.

The best things about this restaurant are its location (perfect for after Deep Eddy pool) and the vibe of the whole place. The food is just ok. They're not super special burgers and don't have as much flavor as other places. This place can get pretty busy, so sometimes you have to wait in line to order. However, the servers are great and happy to help. It's a fun place to go, just don't expect the most exceptional food ever.

We're travelers and this is our 11th state. I think this is one of the best burgers I've had. We've tried a lot of burgers in our time but to me you can't the fresh taste of these burgers. Me & my daughter had the "Dazed & Confused" burger & asked for a regular burger bun & not the veggie burger bun. The guacamole, bacon and the fresh lettuce & tomato was amazing !! I usually get a 2 patty burgers but I never felt like I needed 2 patties. We also had the Pool Cheeseburger without chopped onions. My son even commented on fresh the lettuce taste. The fries are really good, to us, needs a touch more salt but than we just salt them ourselves. My daughter got extra crunchy, it did taste different. We got some adorable party drinks! We got two piña coladas, and they were strong ! We personally like too sweet stuff lol so we just sucked them down. We had it twice this week ! We wanted one more time before leaving Austin. Cya Austin, it's been AWESOME !!

She was clearly into me, and the bartender kept jumping in trying to talk to her too (instead of doing his job making drinks). He was doing all sorts of things to try and flirt with her and make her laugh: pulling out and showing her buckets of pre mixed cocktails, running and sliding under the bar, etc. She was engaging with both of us , and right in the middle of that, I get cut off out of nowhere. No explanation other than claiming I looked drunk, which I very clearly wasn't. It felt very clear what was going on--he wanted me out of the way. I left and asked the bouncer on my way out if I seemed drunk. This was literally two minutes later. He said no, not at all, and asked me why I would even ask that. I then told him exactly what happened and asked him to let the owner or whoever was in charge know about this extremely unprofessional conduct so they can discipline the bartender. His response was that the bartender has discretion to cut anyone off, and let me know the bartender is supposedly married so he couldn't have been flirting with any of the customers. Well, sounds like his logic is flawed--not only COULD he flirt with his customers, he WAS, and was therefore cheating. I hope his wife finds out. An hour ago it wasn't raining, but now it's pouring. A few months ago, I heard of a newer bar and experience called Equipment Room just right off of South Congress. Music means everything to me. Nothing can express emotions and instill a feeling in 3 minutes like a song can. I live for that. Equipment Room is inherently Japanese in concept. Existing in Japan for over 50 years, listening bars combine high fidelity audio equipment with impressively crafted cocktails and alcohol combining the passion of music in a space to gather with comfortable chairs and a beautiful atmosphere. The concept has expanded westward as all cool things inevitably do, but I would never think a spot would be successful in Austin like it would be in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and so on. As I back my car into a parking spot on South Congress, I grab the umbrella out of my trunk and walk my girlfriend and me to the entrance trying to not get ourselves soaked in the process. This is not the first time we have tried to go to Equipment Room. We tried to get a walk-in table just to see out of morbid curiosity and that was a failure. I booked her and me a table for this night and I was madly looking forward to it. As we got to the small entrance, we were introduced to the hostess who brought us from the stairs into the main underground space and to our seats on the couch in a large wraparound sofa with other parties sitting near us. The music is faint from the entrance, but once you walk through the main walkway, a wave of sound hits your eardrums. You're immediately engrossed into the music like walking into a concert hall or putting a fresh pair of headphones on for the first time. As we sat down, selections from Outkast's Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik were playing through the speakers. Our hostess introduced us to their "User Manual" (their menu) where it contained all the snacks and drinks you could get your grubby hands on. There's more than just drinks and food on the menu. The first page introduces the concept and gives a few house rules. The second page shows all the equipment this so-called room has, from the premium Klipsch speakers, their preamps and amplifiers as well as their turntables and mixers. It's a dream page for music nerds. I want a $15k speaker in my apartment, but those noise complaints would never end. Our waitress came by shortly to give us water and take our order. Their menu is quite expansive, but the main pages we were told to check out were their A-side drinks or the classics and their B-side drinks, which are more experimental. We had to go with experimental for starters because who knows when you'll get to try something similar again. I started with a Goca Dünya while my girlfriend ordered a Deceptacon. The Goca Dünya was a vodka based floral drink with pistachio foam and Amaro Nonino, an Italian herbal liqueur. The Deceptacon was a rum-based cacao drink with a touch of lime and mint. It took a little time for our drinks to come out, clearly, as they are quite intricate. I loved my drink, bluntly. The pistachio foam was a great balance to the herbal flavors at the bottom. My girlfriend and I continued to enjoy each other's company as the music continued. The space we were in was decorated with posters and memorabilia from legendary artists coming through Austin and some general music decor like that purple album from that Prince guy. The DJ-curator that night was on a tear playing incredible soul music holding the bar hostage with a taste of funk. Jimmy Smith came next before transitioning to a few tracks from Bobbie Gentry. The last albums he pulled out were Steely Dan's Aja (a stone cold classic) and Stevie Wonder's Songs in the Key of Life (a top 10 album of all time). Not only was he playing classics like Isn't She Lovely, but he threw down some deeper cuts like Black Man and Contusion. Incredible. We both got another drink with my girlfriend getting their A-Side Espresso Martini while I got the Brown Sugar from their B-Sides. It was a seaweed and mushroom infused whiskey with a few more bells and whistles and it was super unique. Quite a bit of their menu is Japanese-inspired in homage to the originators of listening bars. This includes Japanese beer, sake, and Japanese-inspired food and beverages on their menu. Very cool. The worst part of the night came when our hour and 45 minute reservation came to a close. I could've stayed there for another 3 hours and never grown tired, but with how popular this space has become, they gotta kick you out at some point. This is an experience you have to have. It's worth it. I'll be strolling back in soon enough because there is nothing like this in Austin and it's truly a special space. RIYL: Actively listening to music.

They play no digital music and their speakers are installed throughout the whole building. The sound is great! The menu was so cute and on theme. The furniture and decor is mid century modern. I went here for my birthday and they gave my table a round of Sake shots, which was nice! My table ordered drinks: the Brown Sugar, Goca Dünya, Suffer No Fool (non alcoholic), Vitamin C. They were all delicious and they did not skimp on the alcohol! It was well balanced! I seriously recommend the Goca Dünya--that pistachio foam was addictive! For food, we got the Cheese board to have something to pick on and we demolished it, haha. It came with marmalade and crackers. The cheeses were great, along with the dried fruits and nuts. The cheese selections seem to rotate every other season, which is cool.

Basically, I had a large group reserved for a celebration, and I didn't get a confirmation email and when I noticed this I scrambled to find another reservation. The reservation link I was sent to kept erroring out when I tried to process it. Apparently the incorrect date was selected and I did not notice I was charged an exorbitant amount of money because it was a larger party, but we had every intention of going and we would have spent quite a bit of money. After being charged a $120 no show fee I tried to contact them to see if they could at least squeeze us in or take the no show fee off but they said their policy was clearly stated and they don't respond to my last email. Also, there is no phone number which is incredibly frustrating as I would have called to confirm my 5:30pm reservation issue, but instead just assumed it didn't go through While part of this was undoubtedly user error, the process of reserving and confirming reservations was not easy. Furthermore, the establishment was not overly understanding Some tips: Go to a different bar. There are so many great bars, lounges, and speakeasy's in the area, and I wouldn't risk the potential hassle. We pivoted to the Roosevelt room last minute and we had a great time Cheers!
