Margarita pizza

We ordered a pick up order and everything was so delicious. I couldn't believe it. These pies have excellent crust and a lot of unique flavor options. I will definitely return next time. I'm in the area and craving pizza.

We ordered the pastrami sandwich. This is a sandwich that you could split with someone for lunch. Very large portion, served on fresh sourdough bread slices with pickles and optional onions and whole grain mustard. The tiramisu is out of this world to die for. The absolute best. The staff here are very friendly and knowledgeable of their food and attentive when dining in. The restaurant is relaxing and decor and artwork is great. Will definitely come back again.

TLDR: Authentic AVPN-certified Neapolitan pizza in a modern, family-friendly setting. Great crust and good flavors make it a solid spot for true Neapolitan-style pies. Pieous is one of Texas's few Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (AVPN) certified pizzerias, meaning their pies meet the strict standards of true Neapolitan pizza. From the wood-fired oven to the soft, blistered crust, you can tell they take that designation seriously. The space itself has a modern, casual vibe with a clean, open feel, and there's a great turf green area outside with picnic tables that's perfect for families or anyone looking to hang out and relax. I tried the Margherita and the Rocket pizzas. Both were solid examples of the Neapolitan style: the crust had that ideal balance of crispness and chew, with a soft, airy interior. The Margherita had the classic trio of tomato, mozzarella, and basil, while the Rocket (a white pizza with prosciutto and arugula) came generously topped and satisfying. While the ingredients didn't quite have the intensity of flavor you find at the very best pizzerias in this style, everything was still well-executed and enjoyable. Overall, Pieous delivers a strong Neapolitan pizza experience in Austin and is well worth a visit for anyone craving that authentic VPN-style pie.

I came here for my 25th birthday dinner with my family and everything about it was just right. The pizza was honestly incredible. You could taste how fresh everything was. The inside of the restaurant is really cute. It has a warm, colorful vibe with fun phrases painted on the walls and playful art that makes the space feel creative but also cozy. One of my favorite parts was the natural lighting. The big windows let in so much sunlight and you could see outside while you eat, which made it feel bright and open. There's plenty of space for bigger parties too, so it was perfect for my family. From the food to the atmosphere to the way the staff treated us, it was a great way to celebrate. I'd come back in a heartbeat.

I never realize how much of a pizza fanatic I am until I start leaving reviews and see how many pizza places I've been to. My husband and I stopped in here on our way home from dropping off my mother in Austin and have passed by here many times and finally decided to stop. Oh my goodness I am so glad we did! We got the choppy salad, which is so light and perfect to eat in this Texas heat, it had lots of texture, a light vinaigrette, I added a pinch of salt to really enhance the flavor, but that's just me, my husband said it was fine as it was. We ordered a margarita pizza and added caramelized onions and mushrooms and fresh basil at the end. It was so insanely delicious! The crust is so good and the amount of sauce was perfect. Apparently their pastrami is a pretty big deal so the lady recommended that we order some on the side to taste by itself, as well as on top of the pizza. That pastrami was so good. We have not stopped thinking about it and are desperate to go back! The ambience is very laid-back, they have indoor and outdoor dining with small intimate tables or very long tables for big groups. Some of the tables have board games, which would be perfect for taking your kids out and having some quality time or even amongst friends. The service is very friendly and everything you would expect of southern hospitality. We did try some desserts, but my husband got everything chocolate and I was not feeling it, but he enjoyed what he got. Needless to say, this is an absolute must try, a bit pricey, but worth it.

Brussels pizza and tiramisu

I went back to Pieous for lunch the other day and I take back my previous review of their pizza. We ordered the Brussels pizza and added bacon because it sounded unique and I was there with a girlfriend. Both of us wanted to venture towards a vegetable-forward pizza that we'd never be able to share with our husbands. It was delicious! Then we shared a Tiramisu for dessert and two glasses of wine. I think Pieous will now make it's way into our lunch rotation. Service-wise, it is counter service. The girl who rang us up with a smile and was able to split our tab in half. Our food was brought out to us and since we lingered for a bit of conversation, someone came and cleared our table as well. The ambiance seems modern to me. My only suggestion would be to add physcial menus, unless I missed them. As some other reviews have mentioned, they have a pretty extensive menu, but I forgot my glasses so it was challenging for my old eyes. I ended up pulling the menu up on my phone but then felt self-conscious for taking so long to decide and just ordered. I don't regret my choices, but that would be me only piece of feedback to make my experience better.

Came here for lunch this Sunday afternoon. Walked right on and you have to order right away at the counter. The menu is quite extensive so, I started to feel the pressure as people lined up behind us. I only saw the starters and salads and went with the Mixed Leaf salad and a pepperoni pizza. Pro tip, know before you go. There are lots and lots of options.... There are also qr codes on the table, so not sure if ordering tableside is an option. The salad was very basic, but delicious. Their handmade mozzarella was excellent and the mixed greens and tomatoes were nice and fresh. The balsamic dressing was tasty. Very good, but morning spectacular. The pizza was good. The crust edges were nice and chewy, but the pizza was super floppy and, dare I say, slightly soggy. The pepperoni has a nice crunch, but lots of greasiness. It was pretty tasty, but I think could have benefited from more crispiness. Make sure you ask for extra red pepper flakes if you like the heat .They were a little bit stingy considering they brought us a near empty container. Service was lovely. Everyone was nice and they came and cleared the table as we finished up. Overall, it was a good lunch. I would probably return if I'm in the area as there are a ton of other options to try.

Margherita Pizza

This is NOT a pie place . Its a great foodie establishment with owners who are obsessed with high quality ingredients and making delicious foods. Nice friendly and helpful service. Casual dining with good wine, beer options. Indoor and outdoor seating to being a date, your colleagues for lunch, your dog, your kids, or a family outing! Whats good... well Everything. - the coffee yum! -the amazing pastries made daily they are sooo good. Reminds me of being in France or Italy with those light buttery pastry shops -the tiramisu is to die for and not too sweet. -the insane pizzas on amazing thin crust made to order. This is the type of pie that you will eat the crust! Our favs.. the Margherita and the Fat Queen! -we come back time and time again for the Cesar salad. The homemade dressing, the thin made croutons. Soooo good. My daughter and I crave this and if there was a salad award this would win every year! -the pastrami of course is uber famous being on Guy's Diners Drive ins and Dives. You can tell the pastrami is a labor of love. Well folks all you are left to do is come here! It's off 290 in the chic-fil-a parking lot. Take a break from the burgers and chicken and expand your plate to what great hand made pizza and other delicious foods should taste like! Fresh, complex in flavors, premium ingredients and amazing owners!!

Pieous is a fun choice if you want to switch your pizza night up. The folks here are always super nice and knowledgeable and the space is really casual which is pretty awesome for us folks with younger kids lol. Tonight we ordered: Pastrami - it's always good, no notes. White pizza with added mushrooms - the mushrooms are violently buttery and they give you a wonderful amount. This is what I mean when I ask to add mushrooms to a pizza. The dough is super chewy and the crust crunchy. Brussel sprout salad - a very lovely addition to a rich meal. The dressing is tangy and a little sweet which helped cut the savory flavors. Pieous is a nice break from typical pizza joints.

House on fire
Vineet C.

Stopped by here to get some food as we were coming to town for a wedding. Pizza here was yummy. We had 4 adults share 3 pizzas. We got the pesto, house on fire, and Brussels and jam. My favorite of these was the house on fire. It definitely had some spice on it so beware if you can't handle spicy. The Brussels and jam was a pretty close second. We had to order at the register because it was Friday night but I think at other times you can order via QR code on your phone. This helps avoid the line for sure!

For appetizer we got the sampler. It was questionable. Everything on the sampler was not that great. The olives were too salty. The chickpeas were partially burn. Pizzas are burn on the rim. I know pizzas should have a nice char on the bottom but this one is overly done with that char.

THE BEST! If you have a love for the PERFECT salad ingredient to dressing ratio Pieous is a 10/10. We had pizza, salad, and even took home a pound of pastrami. The most thought out menu with top ingredients. A wonderful family owned feel. Don't sleep on Pieous if you are anywhere near Austin!

Caesar Salad with 1/4 lb Pastrami
Steven R.

I know that I've reviewed this place before, but whatever. This is my go to place to eat in FARRR SW Austin or Dripping Springs. Outstanding Caesar Salad and Smoked Pastrami. Pizza is outstanding as well but I usually only have room for the salad and pastrami. Great interior space with super cool marble topped picnic tables. Very French Country/Texan. Owners are very nice and they pay their staff well. They were take out only during and for a long time after the pandemic. Glad that dine in is back. Now if only they didn't close from 2-4 on the weekdays....

What's the best way to heat up their to-go pizzas in a frying pan?

Air fryer

I just ordered 3 pizzas coming through town and you are closed, opening again in an hour and a half. How do I cancel my order?

Do you offer gluten free options?

No :(

Why no phone #? Any outside seating available? Not driving there without knowing. Would like to go and support.

You can order on line @ pieous.com. Pickup only right now.

Closed for the holidays?

They have reopened after the holidays.

Been calling for 30 minutes with no answer. Online order not available. Am I just out of luck? Or am I missing something.

I've only been once, but they were pretty busy that time - so my guess is they just weren't able to get to the phone. I remember a sign saying you can order online using ChowNow. Maybe look into that next time!

Is the new outdoor area good for dogs?

Yep

Are they open on Sundays?

Yes.

Do they have gluten free crust?

Yes!

Are there any gluten free pizzas?

Yes. I doubt you will be able to reach them via phone. I have never had any success. You can download their app (yes, they have one) to order in advance...or order on Facebook. Good luck!

After giving our keys away we walked into what is a beautiful outside area at Juliet's. It's a nice mix of feeling like you're in downtown Austin but also not. We went inside to request two seats outside and this is unfortunately where everything fell apart. After being seated all the way at the very corner of the restaurant near the entrance, we didn't receive water for 15 minutes. In fact, we had to ask for water, as well as silverware, from a person who was cleaning a table- not a waiter. We didn't order until about 30 minutes after being seated. We noticed that others around us who were dressed nicer for the occasion were receiving service but we were not (jeans and a nice top as opposed to a dressy outfit). This is less of an accusation and more of an observation. It took another waiter noticing that we had not been served to come over and take our order, and that was 5 minutes after we had to flag down a busser to ask for water. The flip side of that whole first part is that the food was pretty good. We got complimentary table bread (after we asked for it since it never came before our main meal) that was soft and went well with the olive oil it came with. For our entrees we got the shrimp scampi and chicken parm. The shrimp scampi was fantastic and light with creamy and bold flavors in-between. The chicken parm was maybe the largest chicken cutlet we've seen given out at a restaurant. Not only was the cutlet massive but it was delicious as well with a nice, light breading and cheese on top. The spaghetti alongside it was a nice touch but this was a true chicken parm entree as it should be. We were offered a complimentary dessert as an apology for the miscues before we ate but turned it down (still good of them to offer). Leaving was easy as the valet was very attentive and quick to get our car. We wish we could say our time at Juliet's was perfect because the setting and food are very nice and a fun change of pace from the surrounding blocks. However, it's difficult to overlook the mistakes made from the jump. We noticed that another table next to us was also experiencing bad service and looked unhappy enough to leave in the middle of their meal/ We're always open to having good food again so hopefully the next time we're here things are different. Just an unfortunate bittersweet taste to what otherwise would have been a fantastic meal.

The complementary focaccia is delicious. The desserts are great. I like the cookies, especially the pignolini, and the cannoli are very good. My wife always gets gelato, especially stracciatella, when they have it. The prices are reasonable, probably higher than you'd expect for counter service, but worth it for the food quality. This restaurant has you placed your orders at the register and they are brought out to you from the kitchen by staff. They have a pretty varied selection of Italian dishes on the menu. The bread itself could've been sliced a bit thinner but overall it was very well done. The chicken piccata had a bright lemon flavor that was enhanced with the capers. The chicken was accompanied by fresh pasta laden with butter and Parmesan cheese. All in all it was a satisfying experience. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Recommend recommended.

The same for the Breakfast Mule. Both cocktails went well with our appetizer and brunch meals. We ordered the Tuscan Hash with Braised Short Rib, Pollo Fritto, Americano & Breakfast Rosa. I ordered the Americano with prosciutto and it was too good that nothing else was left on the plate. My daughter had the Breakfast Rosa pizza, flavor was great, sauce & meats were evenly spread with 2 eggs to top it off.
