    slice of pepperoni

Decent spot for a quick slice refuel when your initial lunch plans for walking up and down Congress St. fall through. Service was fast and friendly and the pepperoni NY style slice was about as good as any other I've had. We found a spot inside at one of the counters by the window because it was chilly but there was lots of spots on the patio and they even had some heaters on for the waiting area which was nice when we were getting ready to leave and waiting for my brother to use the bathroom.

Pizza and vibes were good. I'm particular about my pizza crust and it was crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. Just how I like it. We also got the Italian sub and some salads. The food didn't take very long to be ready. The sub was HUGE. Half a sub is more than enough for one person. The salad had fresh ingredients and the dressing was homemade. I wish the garlic knots had more of a garlic butter on the outside. They were a bit dry for me but my mom loved them. There was lots of outdoor seating. Not as much indoor seating but we were able to find a spot.

We originally stopped by Home Slice hoping for a quick bite, but the main location had about a 20-minute wait and felt more sit-down than we wanted. So we popped next door to More Home Slice and that ended up being the best call. The wait was short, the staff was friendly, and it was exactly the low-key vibe we were looking for. Street parking only and outdoor seating. We grabbed a pepperoni slice and wow! Easily one of the best New York style pizzas I've had. Thin, crunchy, and sturdy enough to hold its shape. Perfect spot when you want something quick and really good!

Slices and whole pizzas sold beer and wine sold. Outdoor seating dining room has a larger menu. Can't be super busy during the weekend.

I stopped by here with a fellow Yelper before the event at Zach Theater. We got lucky as the store only had a couple of customers in line, and we were able to order & be served within 10-15 mins. They are good at their jobs & were able to manage eat-in, to-go, and Doordash orders fairly quickly. They all took turns bringing orders out, as well. They have limited but ample seating inside and a couple of patio style tables with umbrellas outside (photo below). Their slices are huge, so one is definitely enough unless you came with a very empty stomach. I got the margherita this time but also considered the non-vegan spinach white pie - will have to be another day. This pizza is better than chains, but I've also had better gourmet styles. It does feel good that the famed local bastion of pizza isn't bad, though!

I was craving a crispy cheesy slice and stopped in here on Saturday night. The pizza was lukewarm and I requested it be heated a little more. They couldn't reheat the same slice but generously offered to heat another slice. It was still lukewarm, no cheese pull, not satisfying at all. The crust was tasty but it was such a waste and tasted like nothing.

One slice, so yummy with cheese topping powder on the picnic tables. They bring hour pizza out to you and so nice! Ambiance is relaxed and family friendly, it's off the road so it's casual dining

I think i like the Central Austin location better, but I have to say Home Slice is always really solid pizza - nice and crispy..I think the plain or pepperoni better than the other stuff. I think it's expensive for what it is, but that's the Austin premium pizza price for ya! I will keep going to Home Slice though because it def. hits the spot when you're in the mood for NY or NJ style pizza. Just know it's not quite going to be the same...which is fine..because we are in the Lone Star State!

Solid slice and quick bite when you're hungry walking. The smells hit and it's over. $4.25 for a cheese slice so we took 4 to tide us over. The whole fam agreed it was an A.

Where's the sauce!? This is from today (05.08.2025). Sicilian pepperoni. Hardly any sauce. Do you have new people making your pizza? I'm a long-time customer (over 15 years) and this is the driest Sicilian pepperoni slice I've ever had.

Ok... man how have I never reviewed this place? Oh, Home Slice.... we have known each other maybe more than a decade? You've known me since before I had kids walking Congress and now to almost every weekend seeing both my kids as they grow up. You took my family of 20 in the day after my wedding when we were hungry. You've hosted many of my kiddos birthday parties at your place and always show up for birthday parties at the park. We know we can always just stop by when we're in the hood and my children have come to know you as someone we can always count on. But for real though, the star of this review is their Italian sub. I can't believe I never knew about this until a few months ago. The bread is a perfect shell crunch housing all the goodness inside. It doesn't overpower the sandwich at all and allows all the other ingredients inside to express themselves. The super finely shredded lettuce is genius making for easy tear off bites. For those of you who don't think you even like Italian subs, I was one of you. You're welcome.

More Home Slice Pizza is probably the most accurately named pizza joint of all time. As the casual and to go wing of Home Slice, MHSP (nice acronym, huh?) is serving up what amounts to as the best pizza we've had in Austin so far. Ordering at the window was quick but the price of $4ish for a slice is quite high. As for the pizza, it was thin and floppy (just the way we like it) with a well cooked bottom and the pizza pops with flavor. The sauce and crust feel pretty close to what you'd get in a New York pizza and as people who have spent years of ours lives in The Big Apple, it was nice to taste home for a little bit. The only thing that feels a bit off is the cheese, maybe we're crazy or needed a few more slices to average it out. Either way, the pizza is delicious and we can't wait to stop by and get another slice.

Extra busy because of the F1 weekend (McLaren had a lot of team members there when I went). Line moved quick. Great flavored pizza slices.

The best spots to eat at are under the umbrellas out front, facing South Congress Street. You won't wait long for a slice. Check out the Brooklyn mural inside. My favorite thing about this place, other than this pizza, is the Willie Nelson mural. The toppings are about what you'd expect- the pepperoni is not heaped like a meatlover's pizza or something obnoxious- more thoughtfully and tastefully placed. There aren't strange flavors like sheep's cheese and apple, like you might expect to find on some Austin pizzas. Instead, it's just margherita, cheese, pepperoni for the to go. (I think...)

We definitely could have shared with more people because we had some pizza left over. We got The Works, Shroomin' Goat, and Texas Chicken Ranch pizzas. The Texas Chicken Ranch was by far our favourite. It was really good, while the other two were alright. The crust was weirdly bubbly and amorphous looking. There was a lot of crust. The Works was okay. The sauce and meat weren't particularly tasty. The Shroomin' Goat was a vegetarian pizza with a lot of arugula, which is not my type of pizza, but our vegetarian friend said it was okay. Great vibes at Pinthouse overall though, and I have enjoyed their other pizzas in the past.

There is nothing more delectable than their unique and unbelievable slices of pizza. On top of that, their Caesar salad, and everything else in between is incredible as well. The only "issue" with Allday in Hyde Park is that you are always waiting in line. Their location in Hyde Park is their second location and is their most popular by far. Though the wait in line at any hour is worth it. Sometimes you just don't want to make that commitment. That's where their location in Terrytown shows up as the true superstar. Located right off of Lake Austin, the Allday Pizza is attached to Flo's Wine Bar and Bottle Shop as a walk up window. There isn't a lot of parking at Flo's, but plenty of free street parking right next to Allday on Pecos Street. What is crazy is that when we walked in at 12:15 PM on Sunday, might I add, there was no line to order. Plenty of people going to town on their pizza, but no line to order. This was incredible. In Hyde Park, a 12:15 PM arrival would mean a 1:30 PM meal. Not here! The outdoor space is shaded and well covered which was great for a rainy day like today was. You can also sit inside Flo's with your pizza and enjoy some wine alongside it. You can do no wrong here! Another reason I wanted to go to the Terrytown location was because unlike Hyde Park, they serve by the slice cuts of the Cacio E Pepe that I've been dying to try. After our order, we grabbed some plates, cups of water and napkins, and our food was ready in mere seconds. I had a slice of the Stracciatella, the Pep & Pepp, and of course, the Cacio E Pepe. The Stracciatella is creamy and delightful and the Pep & Pepp has a minor kick but really balances against the Stracciatella. The Cacio E Pepe was fantastic. No tomato sauce, but the peppery flavor (that you would expect in a cheese and pepper pizza) was outstanding. It tasted like a well done sauce on crust. My girlfriend got a Tomato Tomatoe that I tried a bite of and was impressed. The lemon pepper panko is just like the one included in the MVP Caesar Salad and it really did a lot of heavy lifting in the slice because it is simply so incredible. The salad which I got a bite of is delectable. How do the greens taste so fresh? Why is the dressing so delightful? It's still the best Caesar I've ever had. Because there was no line, we indulged a bit and got a Dirt Cup to share for dessert. It consisted of their Dark Chocolate Soft Serve, chocolate sauce, an Oreo crumble made in-house, and gummy worms. The soft serve gelato is nuts. I haven't had it at the Hyde location and this was my first impression. What a star on its own. I have not had a single bad menu item at Allday. You can't go wrong. Hyde Park's location might feel a little more sophisticated with its beautiful architecture, full bar with wines, cocktails, and beers on draft, and a little bit more expansive of a menu, but the Terrytown location feels a little more peaceful. It is in a beautiful area of Austin and the ability to arrive and be done with a meal in about 45 minutes is magical. I think Allday in Terrytown might take over the Hyde Park location as my favorite restaurant in Austin, but it's a close race like debating if Wemby or SGA deserves the MVP more. Both are ceiling raisers and the best food you can have in Austin. RIYL: The best food you can have in Austin with little to no wait.
