Came to Southside after a nice trip to a Barton and didn't disappoint. Luis took care of us as he does his own grandkids, opening the business to send them to school. The food was so good and made to order. He recommended all different pizzas and gave us recommendations for the next time. A friendly neighborhood pizza place with the best guy running it.

Hits the spot for a late night hole in the wall pizza joint. It's a decent thin crust pizza that's not too saucy and not too cheesy -- it could've been more flavorful sauce wise and the crust could've used just a tad more fluff if I'm being picky (it's perfect if you like a thin crisp crust) but overall it was great.

Recently stopped for a slice at the Food Truck in Zilker Park. I was pleased to see Southside Flying Pizza and another food truck taking the place of the horrible snack bar that used to be there a couple of years ago. That snack bar had in-edible food, which is hard to do when all you serve is burgers. I got a slice, for $5 and it was just about the worst pizza I've had in a decade. The young woman who served me seemed bothered to have to serve anyone. I was surprised when she asked me if I wanted it warmed up. Yes, I did. It was a thick slice, barely warmed with zero taste. I threw more than half into the garbage and moved on to visiting the park. Surprising how bad it was, but it's obvious some people just don't really care about doing a good job.

Great full sized Pepperoni Pizza. One of the best NYC style thin crust pizza in Austin. Tasty & delicious..!

Sauce was a little watery which makes for a soggy meal. Tasty dough !

Low key pizza shop sharing a parking lot with a gas station. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan sandwich To-Go. Friendly staff, but the food took some time because they had to thaw some frozen chicken (I was told). It made the tomato sauce a little watery and the chicken was borderline warm and cool in some parts. I'm guessing they rushed the thawing and were hoping that chopping it up would help (not quite). It was very filling and pretty good if I was going to compare it to bar food, but I think it's clear these ingredients are better served on pizza and not for this type of sandwich. This sandwich is almost a calzone except for the method of the how the dough is wrapped. Tasty dough though!

Probably the worst sandwich I've ever seen... picture is worth more than words. Went straight in my trash.

Horseradish crusted salmon - I didn't try it but the two people who ordered at our table were disappointed and wished they would've gotten one of the above Desserts GET THIS: 1. Bread pudding was delicious! Not overly sweet & the added white chocolate gives it that dazzle dazzle 2. Chocolate Espresso Brownie - perfection NOT THAT: 1. Banana cream pudding. Not quite sure why the food was subpar, but there were 10 of us who all agreed we wouldn't return for food. There is a swanky little cozy speakeasy in the basement that may be good? We didn't try that.

This place does get busy due to how popular the place is. They don't take reservations, so you have to there to put yourself on the waitlist. While you wait you can order a drink. We didn't since there were other coffee shops I wanted to try. Since everything looked so good on the menu, we asked our waitress what's the most popular. He recommended the chicken & biscuits, cinnamon toast, & the b.e.c sandwich. I ended up getting the b.e.c. sandwich & it was yummy. The sesame challah bun was soft & toasty. The bacon was smoky & crispy. The bacon, pimiento cheese, jalapeño jam, sunny egg, & arugula in the sandwich was the perfect combination for a breakfast sandwich. The potato wedges that it was served with were crispy, well seasoned, & not salty as all. My boyfriend ordered the chicken & biscuit & it was yummy as well. The chicken was crispy & juicy. The vibe is actually very cool, with a laid-back atmosphere and lots of locals, which is always a good sign. DEEPLY UPSETTING EXPERIENCE: Harassment and Lack of Accountability…read more I'm writing this because I'm genuinely shaken by the treatment I received at Casino el Camino last night (Saturday, 4/25, approx. 2:15 AM). While my husband and I were quickly packing our leftovers after closing was announced, we were targeted by a staff member (short male, dreads, full gauged ears). He began aggressively throwing glasses onto our table and followed us down the stairs to intimidate us as we were leaving. As an Asian woman, it was heartbreaking to realize we were the only ones being targeted this way--the bar was still half-full, yet no other patrons were being rushed or hovered over. The situation peaked when the employee looked me in the face and called me a "fucking c--t" in front of my husband and friends. When we asked for help, the manager's "apology" session was a failure; the employee simply started yelling at us again. Instead of de-escalating, the front door staff slammed the door in our faces to hide him. When I asked for the General Manager's name, I was handed a blank business card--a clear attempt to avoid accountability. I gave the card back, as I won't be silenced by a generic brush-off. I am sharing this because a staff member who uses sexist slurs and physically intimidates women is a major liability. I truly hope management takes this seriously and handles this individual's employment appropriately. Check your security footage from 2:00-2:20 AM; it will confirm every word of this.
