As I've aged out of (way too) frequent pizza consumption, I don't like to settle for fast-food pizza when I do get a hankering for some 'Za. Sorry, nobody says "Za". The point here, besides being old & lame now (vs. just lame), is that I'm more selective about pizza nowadays. I'll gladly spend a little bit more to get something a lot better and Aviator absolutely nails it on this front. Aviator excels at the basics. The crust and the sauces are expertly executed and provide the perfect foundation for anything you get here. The classic pepperoni is a can't miss crowd pleaser. Their take on the Margherita strikes the perfect balance between the basil's herbaceousness and the the mozzarella's mozzarella-iness. Their love letter to garlic, the "Flying Garlic", will be a canon event for the garlic lover in your life. My go to is the Ground Control. A perfect supreme pizza, in my book. Grab one of their salads to round out the meal. They do not disappoint. As many times as I've been here, I have yet to stray from the pizzas but look forward to trying the sandwiches and calzones. The service here is great, too. Attentive and responsive if you have any issues with your food. Tip them generously - they are great. The layout also lends itself to get-togethers with friends, loved ones, and those you keep around but hold a healthy disdain for because you fear confrontation. This review is based on delivery, not visiting in house. Saw Aviator was running a buy one get one special and thought it would be good to have pizza on hand during the ice storm. Who doesn't like cold pizza! It definitely did not come cold! Pipping hot ! Perfect amount of sauce and a nice thin crispy crust. They even added parm cheese and pepper packets on the side. A great addition! It was loaded with tons of pepperoni! They did not skimp on pepperoni or the cheese! I would say the service they put into making this pizza was totally 5 stars for sure! Pretty bizarre experience. A group of us decided to come by for dinner as we had driven by a handful of times and were all craving pizza. We ordered with the staff and at the register and the individual behind the register was a little hard to hear them and after ordering we had to re-confirm a couple of items on our order because we weren't sure if they got our order right. We got a buffalo chicken pizza, and a greek salad with cubed ham on the salad. My wife made sure to ask is the ham cubed or sliced, and the staff person confirmed it was cubed. Food starts to come out, and the server brings us an order of Brussels sprouts that we didn't order. The server got a little confused, and wasn't sure who ordered it had to go back to the kitchen to check; after a few minutes they ended up dropping the plate down and wasn't sure who ordered it. A friend of ours also said he was charged for hot honey which was a little odd. They then started to bring the other food, which included the greek salad. After my wife dug around in the salad a bit there was no ham, so the server had to go back to kitchen and grab ham. Turns out the ham was sliced not cubed. After all of the confusion with the food, we got settled and ate. The pizza was just okay, nothing super special about it. The dough was pretty thick, and actually had a sweet flavor. I've had a bunch of buffalo pizzas in my life and I will say this was a little different, wasn't a huge fan of the sweet flavor - probably had to do with the fact there was no red sauce. I am not sure I can recommend this place with all of the pizza competition in ATX. The space was large with TVs, so probably a decent space for bigger parties. read more

I used to come here a lot for their lunch deal but since I changed jobs I have been as frequent. Regardless of how long it's been it is still always so delicious! I love trying one of their specialty pizzas like the Major Tom, cheese sticks are always so cheesy and this "personal" Caesar salad can easily make 4 side salads. Aviator pizza doesn't stand out all that much from the outside, and for some reason every time I've gone with my hubby, the restaurant was always very empty. That said, inside is where the good stuff is... Their pizza dough is really good. Listen, I don't even care for pizza dough that much! I'm a woman who believes that the crust's only purpose is so serve as a carrier for more amazing things! But their dough is good. The toppings are also very generous, more so than 90% of other pizzas I've had in my life. They don't cheap out with the fancy cheese, they lay it thick! And for that, Aviator has earned my respect. I got a message from my brother to meet him and his family at Aviator Pizza & Drafthouse on a Friday night. It wasn't too far from our home and first noticed the parking lot was small and full but found a spot. There was a security guard in front to keep things at bay. The place was very inviting and lots of indoor and outdoor seating. The place was nicely designed with an artistic touch, and It had that beer pub vibe. There was a huge selection of beer on tap to choose from with most being locally sourced. The bartender was super cool and help me select a beer to enjoy. I also ordered a 9" Pepperoni & Basil Pizza and Classic Mozzarella Breadsticks. We all sat on a picnic style table inside and the place was moderately loud where the place was busy. The whole staff was friendly and enjoyed the atmosphere. The pizza had its own style and was very delicious. I was intrigued. The breadsticks were basically a cheese pizza cut in sticks and selected ranch dressing to dip them into. They were also very good. My Wie and I ate half of both where took the rest home for lunch the next day. Austin is definitely a foodie city. While the restaurant itself doesn't have a super distinctive vibe, I was really impressed with the pizza! The crust is thicker than a Neapolitan pizza, but still not too heavy or overwhelming. I ordered the Margherita. I was skeptical when I saw the presentation (pizza topped with sliced tomatoes can be very hit or miss), but was pleasantly surprised. It was so tasty! We are coming from San Antonio, it was very quiet inside which makes it a great atmosphere to grab a beer and do some work. The flights are $13.00 it was great to just taste and experiment, the pizzas themselves which are both personal ranges from $9-$13.00 10/10 the crust has a sweetness to it, it's a fluffier crust which I love! We enjoyed the beer very much one of the main reasons we wanted to try the drafthouse. Recently moved to Mueller and was excited to try this place. Been there 4 times in 1 1/2 months, trying to test it to give it a fair rating and not a 1 time jab. Overall, not good and is akin to frozen pizzas. Their "thin" is not thin and isn't even close to NY style. Solid choice when you're looking for an easy place to grab some good pizza and cold beer on a Monday night (and thankfully...open)! They have a walk up and order format at the bar. The bartender was super nice and helpful with recommendations (even said I'd picked one of his fav pizzas to order). They have casual seating inside and outside, so if the weather is good you can enjoy the patio with a pup or just hang out in the AC. Cool joint brewery and pizzeria, very industrial on the inside & nice place to hang out. Spinach and artichoke pizza a bit of a disappointment, they use red sauce instead of white sauce. If I had gone in to Shuffle 512 first, I might have won. Therefore, theoretically, this was a $300 pizza and salad. I'd leave a woah emoji, but not sure if it will show up on Yelp. I mean, the emoji comes up but I have tried it before and it was just a weird space. And I don't want you to associate me with pimps, gangsters, and weird spaces (purple Cadillac okay). I ordered a pizza and I guess they forgot the cheese? Half the pizza was cheese less. No peppers or cheese packets with the delivery either.

This is good pizza, but I wouldnt say its great. Their strongest suit is balancing all the ingredients. Nothing stands out more than any other ingredient. This was most noticeable on the Greek pizza, which may have had the best use of olives Ive seen with Lisanti ingredients. The dough here tastes hand tossed, while still having some crispiness on the bottom. So why three stars? Well, the flavor isnt very strong on any of the pizzas. I either blame the fact they are using Lisanti ingredients, or they are much more conservative in their approach to flavor than I am. I do think this is still a good option for pizza within the area, but this would not be my first choice. read more

The thin crust was better as the charred areas added more flavor. The pizzas overall were not bad, they were just missing some seasoning and/or spice. The crust was a bit bland and again lacking in some seasoning. We also got the cinnamon bread. It was ok, but again, seemed to be missing some seasoning/flavor to make it pop. Truthfully I would put everything we ate on par with Dominoes. The staff was nice and the service was quick. No complaints there. The store is in a nice area with other shops that is growing. Overall clean and accommodating. Might come back, though i do prefer Pint House style more. read more
