Used to order from Milano's every Friday for years; couldn't remember why I switched to other spots. The pizza is affordable compared to other options in the area; did DoorDash last night for the Meat Trio. The pizza was fine, hot and crisped up meats. But the cheese and toppings overwhelm the sauce; I taste crust and toppings, but can't taste the sauce hardly at all. The crust is softer than I like. The pie was cut unevenly; small pieces and large pieces all together. No customization on the bread here; thin crust white is your pick. So just fine; again, very affordable even with DoorDash fees, but you get what you pay for. The medium size is enough for a few meals for one, and that's all I want anyway. Will probably splurge on Conan's or Aviator next time, and leave Milano's in my nostalgic past. Good for a pinch, but that's it. read more

Ordered calzones as a classic rainy day comfort food. They were ready fast and we were excited to eat them. When we got home, re realized there was no marinara (the online order form asked if we wanted marinara or ranch on the side). Before we left to go back and get the marinara, we cut into them just to check- and the marinara was inside. As you can imagine, this was a soggy and watery calzone experience. Everything tasted good despite the mess it was to eat. I assume this was an online ordering error, and that the form put marinara as an ingredient on the ticket when it was supposed to be the side. I'd call ahead next time rather than ordering online because this ruined my comfort food experience. Milano's Pizza is THE BEST down this pizza row/Stassney Lane and is a family run business. Fast, friendly, and kind service on simple ingredient and delicious pizza spot. We frequently get their pizza rolls (9 for $9) that are amazingly deliciously filled with hot mozzarella and lightly spicy pepperoni slices inside of these filled pepp rolls. Get their garlic sauce to dip those in but you got options like marinara and ranch sauces as well. We've also had their subs including their meatball one. They toast the bread up nice, seasoned and thick meatballs, and delicious red sauce with it. Their subs are a solid B. They deliver and have daily specials and from what I read from their website they have coupons to use when you make an online order. Milano's offering was simply, okay. Ordered a pie with pepperoni, mushrooms, and Italian sausage. The sauce used was a touch sweet and the pizza probably could have used another five minutes cooking. Part of the issue is with Milano's process. They use a rolling convection oven to cook the pizza, but this does not allow for an even distribution of heat across the pizza and leaves parts of it under-cooked. This was most evident when looking at the healthy amount of toppings on the pizza. Also, when I showed up to the restaurant, the guy at the counter said my order should be ready in "15 minutes". I sat down in a chair and returned to the counter 15 minutes later. He found my pizza had been sitting in a warming oven. Didn't hate the pie, but wouldn't order from there again. read more

I ordered the special of the month: 1 pizza with 3 toppings, 1 lb wings, 1/2 pound PopCurds (Breaded Cheese Curds), 2x591 ml any PepsiCo. brand. They falsely advertise concerning the 1lb of wings and popcurds, the wings no where near 1lb and the popcurds were no where near 1/2lb. They also added green peppers to my pizza toppings, which I did not ask for nor particularly like at all! To pay nearly $60 for this entire meal was not worth it. Omg this local pizza place is so good! I ordered a Margherita pizza for my roommate and it after being blown away by their plain cheese about a month ago, and it was absolutely delish! Little perfectly chopped garlic pieces, good olive oil and perfect basil made it soo soooo much better than ordering from a chain! It was going to be an hour and a half or so wait but totally worth it-I called near the last 2 minutes of it being in the oven after about an hour and a half and the kind gentleman on the phone apologized and offered me a free dessert! We chose Milano because it was open late and was recommended! We got two specialty pizzas, a Greek salad, wings, mozzarella sticks, and garlic bread I believe. The wait was estimated 1.5 hours but it came sooner than that. The veggie pizza wasn't a hit and the salad definitely wasn't traditional and ended up going in the trash. DON'T pay attention to the "neg" reviews. Appears many are "first-timers" & had only ONE Milano experience. And no PICTURES to back it up. I've been ordering Milano for YEARS now (I also live in Austin, 30+ yrs now). Yes, some things better than others. But not NEARLY all bad! I'll separate what's done well & what needs improvement. I'll tell ya what's GOOD & what's NOT. I'LL BE FAIR. I prefer doing business w/ local business whenever possible, but ONLY if no sacrifice in QUALITY. Milano fills that bill. BTW, DELIVERY ONLY, NO DINING ROOM! Let's go: WHAT'S DONE WELL: Milano is a PIZZA joint after all; that's what they call themselves. Pizza's a thin crispy handmade crust that to me has just the right consistency for that type of pizza. I prefer Meat Lovers or Supreme; I'm not a one-or-two topping guy, never was. Very good sauce, lotsa toppings. I like to get Marinara to dip the "outer perimeter" crust; if I have time, I make my own from scratch. I admit that while their PIZZA SAUCE is great, the Marinara, is just OK; it's canned, they don't make it. But when necessary, I deal with it. I've tried the Chicken Alfredo Pizza; it's GOOD, but IMO pizza should be tomato-based sauce. That's just me. WINGS are good. I like 'em done a lil' more, so ALL the chicken comes off the bone, but that's my prob w/ ALL pizza places' wings. If I order wings, I preheat my oven in case they need more cookin'. Milano wings? Good as any other. I like to make my own wings when I have the time, in my lil' one-quart Presto Fry Daddy, or oven. Or the frozen, PRE-SEASONED Pilgrim's Pride or Tyson wings. Easy. Keep 'em on hand to SUPPLEMENT your pizza, just start 'em same time you order, or before. Not only will ya save money, you'll probably have better wings. Microwave won't give good warm-up results. WHAT COULD BE BETTER: I've got good & bad to say about the SALAD. Yes, it's Iceberg lettuce; like many of you, I like something more nutritious, such as Romaine. But in a pinch it's a decent salad, fresh & crisp. As an appetizer, ONE small salad will feed TWO people. So I agree, TO A POINT, about the neg things said about the salad. But only the lettuce used, NOT the quality, freshness, or size. SUBS: VERY tasty, but small. Ya get a better, BIGGER sub from TUCCI'S SOUTHSIDE, for roughly the same price (formerly Delaware Subs; same owner, different name). Wm. I make a MEAN Lasagna al Forno; takes HOURS, though I've got lots left to freeze for future meals. I ordered their lasagna with a "meatball". When it arrived, WHERE'S THE MEATBALL? I was expecting a WHOLE meatball. Do they chop it up and mix it in? Couldn't really tell any difference as to amount of meat, with or without. Keep a MICHAEL ANGELO'S froz. lasagna on hand, from HEB. They're LOCAL (Round Rock) & best store bought lasagna you'll ever have. That includes Central Market's ready-to-eat counter. Stouffer's? Not even in the same ballpark; just like Milano, "where's the BEEF?" Never tried the desserts; can't comment. Noticed some delivery complaints; I've never had a prob. "First-timers": NOW they know where ya live; bet next delivery'll be faster. Me, they always get there SOONER than they say. ALWAYS. There were no pic's at Milano's Yelp page, now there are. Please check ' em out, they prove my point. Neg reviewers, I CHALLENGE you to post pic's of what you didn't like. PROVE IT! BOTTOM LINE: Milano is GREATat Pizza & Rolls (especially PHILLY's). GOOD at Wings; Salad (would prefer alt lettuce choice); & Subs (small, but tasty). NOT SO GOOD at pasta. I've tried to give an ACCURATE review, & I've ordered Milano A LOT. Follow my recommendations & I think you'll be pleased. Concerning THICK CRUST Pizza, I like Conan's (if you can afford it; they're good but overpriced) or Pizza Hut; BEST "chain" crust (TENDER, fluffy). Papa John's? I've ordered delivery from Milano's twice, both times my items arrived in about 40 minutes. On each occasion I ordered the XL three topping + wings special for $17.99. The first time I selected Canadian bacon, pineapple and jalapeño for my toppings. They were not too skimpy, yet not overloaded. The second time I ordered I selected Italian sausage, pepperocini and feta, but they accidentally put pepperoni instead of pepperocini. :( I felt like the crust could use a little more seasoning too. The wings were good and spicy, if not a little thick on the breading on my first order. The second time the breading was fine, but I found the spiciness level a little more intense. Milano's is a decent, fast, fairly priced local pizza joint I would order from again in hopes they get my order right. Pretty impressed overall with this place. The toppings were all very fresh and the pizza was cooked perfectly. The pizza was loaded with toppings (I had the supreme) and was a thin, crispy crust just how I like it. Also ordered a side order of the cinnamon sticks. Wasn't sure what to think of them at first but after eating a couple the cinnamon really started to pop. If I had any criticism at all it would be that the cinnamon stocks were a little dry, but still delicious. I did carry out so I can't speak to the problems others had with delivery times. Even though there was a sign taped to the counter facing the employees notifying them of the need to change gloves for each new customer (or something to that effect), none of the employees there were wearing any protective equipment. No masks, no gloves. I have been making a concerted effort to get takeout from local establishments during this pandemic, but every other business I have visited is taking this situation seriously and abiding by the rules that have been put in place.
