Been dying to try Tucci's but they close early so I always forget that. However I made it today got me a Philly cheesesteak sandwich small ( big size tho) the service was amazing excellent ambiance very chill !!! A little pricey but delicious subs also gotta try the Brooklyn cookie !!

As someone who lived in Chicago most of her life, every once in a while I miss some good Chicago food. This place definitely delivered. All their sandwiches are amazing, and they have a pretty good Italian beef.

Welp, I've been going to Tucci's (mostly the William Cannon location) for many years now, dating back to early 2000's. When I discovered them I was so happy with their quality, their portions, and Boarshead meat - wow. You got a respectable amount of meat - even though they were slightly higher priced than usual - it was worth it. My go-to's have been the Italian, sometimes the Fried Bologna, and that Grandma's Hot Ham and Swiss. I think I've had the Philly Cheesesteak before - it was good but lacking in steak. That Italian is always loaded with nice slices of meat - a real sandwich! On my past few visits I've been rather disappointed. The taste and the quality are still there, but the Grandma's Ham & Swiss has now shrunk from a sandwich to a slider. See my pic - my hands are not NBA-sized, yet I can completely cover up this sandwich. I mean - like 4 bites and you're done. Never used to be able to do that. Plus there is hardly any ham inside, it's sliced super thin, and it costs more now - - as good as it tastes it's just not worth the exuberant price. This is so very disappointing. The Italian Gourmet has held up. Quality still good, get enough meat in there, I asked for extra onions and lettuce and sometimes I get it, sometimes I don't. So I do highl;y recommend that. The Fried Bologna - oh geez - that's a cheap meat and the meat portion of what we got was really meager. This think used to be a big solid sandwich, but not anymore. It's like you get mostly bread when you bite into it, the bologna is a secondary item. We've had this many times before in the past and the last 2 here have been so disappointing. The Philly Cheesesteak - same theme as the Fried Bologna and Ham n Swiss - - lacking the main ingredient, the cheesesteak. I mean you bite into this and it's like the bread is the main ingredient here. So ridiculous, so disappointing. Because the portions are so minute now, and prices have increased, we don't go back here anymore - not nearly as much as we used to. I mean we used to eat their sandwiches at least 3-4x a month, sometimes more. Now? Maybe once every 3 months, and when I get the mood for that Italian - I'll go back for that. But we'll skip on the Bologna, the Cheesesteak, and the Grandma's Ham n Swiss. They've cut the meat portions down so much you're just eating warm bread.

Went today and had one of the best sandwiches I've ever had, Chicago beef with provolone cheese on white with Au Jus for dip. Excellent flavor tender and great with melted cheese.

I saw a few other reviews complaining about the size of this sandwich in particular, but I found it to be just the right amount!! The sandwich was hot and delicious! Everyone was very kind and I look forward to returning to try other subs! The service is a bit on the slow side so don't expect sandwiches to be ready immediately.

We've been to their multiple locations across Austin and they all are phenomenal, but we especially love this one for its ambiance and layout. Every time we've visited this location they've always greeted us upon entering, provided seamless ordering and a quick turn around on our order. PLUS our order always comes just as we ordered it, even with any additions we'v made. We've tried a variety of their sandwiches at this point and while they are all super good, hands down our favs have got to be the Big Fat Snarf, Italian Supreme, The Italian and honestly the kids pb and jelly (yes random, but damn its so simple yet tasty) We love the toastiness of their sandwiches and how loaded they make them all, plus they have a long list of options! Even gluten free and vegetarian! If you haven't yet been to a snarfs you MUST go! They will definitely cure any sandwich craving you're having!

So I decided to stop by and get one at Tuccis! let me just start off by saying that they load the subs up!! The portions are huge for about ~$13 a sub so that's a plus. Ordering and checking out was quick and service is no frills but it's nice to see they remember locals orders. I ended up dining in which was partially why my rating is a bit lower. I would recc taking out since there wasn't anyone bussing the tables so it was a bit untidy. I was really excited about the sandwich but the cuts of meat were a bit tough (prosciutto) and I probably should've gotten white bread since the wheat kinda fell apart. I'll have to comeback and try a diff combo.

However, i do appreciate a place that seems like it's super clean,. Anyway - I had a chicken cheesesteak and it was fantastic! I will def get that sandwich again and want to try others. Might be a little big pricey but I guess if you compare it to Jersey Mikes or Cheba Hut or other sandwich joints, it's not egregious. The dude working the counter was really nice too.

After saying "we need to go there" at least 30 times, we finally went there and boyyy howdy it did not disappoint! The Cuban and club were 10/10 perfect! The bread was so fresh, crispy where it needed to be, and buttery in all the right places. It was a perfectly balanced sandwich ratio, not too thick, not too thin, and came with chips or potato salad. The in-house beer is great, and there's something for anyone's tastes, plus non alcoholic options. We sat outside with our pups on the dog friendly patio, which is fully covered and shaded, with tons of great seating options. The parking is shared and gets packed in the evening or you have to pay to park if you are unable to find anything in the lot or on the street. Handsome Dans has a sign directing you to the back where they are located. The vibe is true to a bait shop/diner it's casual with a rustic feel, they have a large covered patio adjacent to Stargazer bar. I highly suggest sitting outside if possible because the inside does get a bit claustrophobic and smokey when it's packed and they are smashing paninis on the press with no proper kitchen overhead vents. The type of greasy smoke you get when you are making super buttery sandwiches on a hot press. The sandwiches are ok but not something I would go out of my way to have ,our kids liked the hotdogs and Frito pies which were also kind of "upper class" gas station quality. Most of the stuff here is food that probably tastes way better after drinking several beers. It's like any normal sandwich you could make at home and toss in a panini press to be honest. Really good beers on tap and friendly staff who seemed to disappear to the back quite a bit and came back confused. They didn't know if they had already given me my food because I was ordering and paying for extra food after more people in our party arrived. They literally saw my food I already had on the table from my previous order and thought they gave me double of what I ordered hahaha. I can't make a judgment because I have no clue what they kept dispersing to the back for but can just say the confusion was real, LOL. All together if I had to come back it be because someone I knew wanted to try it. Otherwise for me it's a one and done. I got the pictures I stood next to a sign ,I had the Signiture sandwiches, now I'm moving on. I can say I've been there done that. I'm guessing that a college crowd or just being a single person who just wants to be amongst people that this is the type of lowkey place to go if you're not into the typical Longhorn hangouts. You stop in ,have some beers, eat a low budget ingredient expensive panini sandwich and chill till you have to call yourself a Waymo cause the beer is good and strong.
