Bacon Cheese Burger - pretty good!! (Salad not amazing but still fresh)
Corinne S.

I came to Mister Tramps for the first time recently with a large group of friends and was very impressed with the service especially since it was so packed! Surprisingly the best bar pizza I've ever had, the Brie pizza was so unique and flavorful- it was super light and creamy and I loved it. My friends did wish it had more pesto sauce but I think it was great as is. The salad on the other hand was not great, it was shredded iceberg lettuce with onions and tomato, I was expecting the salad that's listed on their menu with mixed greens and shredded carrots, at least it was fresh though! The burger was pretty good as well! Overall a great divey bar with plenty of space for our large group, fantastic service and delicious pizza. I also got their cider on tap which was crisp and delicious. I would recommend!!

With my friend being a Tottenham Spurs fan, this is a Spurs bar (for the futbul team, not the San Antonio NBA team) that he's enjoyed frequenting which he invited me to for the game early Saturday morning during my January weekend in Austin. For a second, I thought my friend said this was called Mister Trumps which had me confused when I drove here but relieved when we arrived and saw what the name was. So Mister Tramps is your sports dive bar with plenty of inside seating, a bar area, and a separate room for a private party or when the Spurs play. Several TVs are playing whatever games are on but everyone will play the Spurs game should they be scheduled. The bar is quite packed as they cheer for players such as Harry Kane and Son Heung-min as people drink their beers and eat their brunch/bar foods. While it can be hard to get the bartenders attention, they are patient and will get your food/drink to you in a jiffy. While there are spirits here, beer is the most popular adult beverage of choice with either pints and/or pitchers as the available options. Tons of can options and on tap, I settled for the Crawford Bock as my friend and I watched the game and waited on our pretzel. Pretzel comes with mustard and a spicy queso which are both delicious dippings. They are necessary as I found the pretzel to be a bit tough. They also had pizza which I probably should've ordered but we wanted something quick so the pretzel was our choice. While it's not a bar I'm crazy about, I do appreciate the passion and atmosphere when the Spurs play and would be open to attending here again for that. Maybe it'll convert me to a futbol fan someday.

Greasy onion rings

I love the chill vibe I encountered when I came with friends a week ago.  Bar staff were great.  I found them to be friendly even when things were a bit harried. The drinks were solid, too.  On top of that, parking is plentiful; when it fills out front, spaces are available at the closed businesses next door and behind.  My only disappointment was the food. The onion rings were insanely greasy. One fell on my lap and left a grease spot! The fish and chips were massive.  Each fish piece was as big as a medium fish!  They, thankfully, weren't as greasy as the onion rings.  My friend enjoyed a hamburger, but his fries arrived barely warm.  I realized I saw his burger, ready from the kitchen, sitting in the window waiting for attention for about 5 minutes.  That's why his fries weren't hot.  My advice: wait at the bar and watch for your food if it's busy. All that said, I'll definitely be back.  This is a good pub.

Great dive bar with TVs and sound on for football--not a sports bar but setup well for it--good music on when I arrived. I had some good nachos, nice beer selection, and ultra friendly staff, regulars, and vibe. Worth a visit and a return. There is outdoor seating too. Pretty cool!

This time I figured the best way to evaluate them would he to try one of their staples, so I got a burger. Specifically, I got the "Drunken Burger" covered in queso. Their queso has beer in it, hence the name, which I thought made it taste funky. The burger patty was cooked to perfection. The bun was ok, better than some, and at least it was toasted. The pickles on the side also tasted funky but I couldn't tell if that was a sign they're "higher end" or cheaper than standard dill spears. My side of onion rings was the best part of the meal. Portions were huge and service was good.

Great bar and art show. Enjoyed visiting this establishment. We tried Casa Amigos Vanilla. Bartenders are very prompt serving and friendly. We bought 6 paintings from Jose Cabral, Artist.

This is a bar... a true BAR... that happens to have food options, but make no mistake the main thing here is drinks and sports. However it is a pretty interesting food option... they have some cool pizzas like the one with green chili's on it, or the bacon and pesto, and some other interesting combinations. We were here for a movie premier... my wife friend was in a 21 min shirt film and this is where it was premiered. It was a cool deal!! The place has s back room with a projection tv on 3 of the 4 walls. We got have some light food, got a free drink and watched the premier... it was pretty good! The location is loud, lots of bar people, large outdoor seating area... like I said it is a bar with some interesting food. Bartenders were fun, quick and on top of their game! The event was well done.. photo both set out outside, kids dressed up to open doors... it was pretty cool! Nicely done!!

A group of friends and I were scouring Austin to find a place to watch the Liverpool-Chelsea season opener, and we happened upon this hidden gem. It was packed with fans from the previous game of the day and it had multiple television sets showing the game, so it appeared to be a proper soccer pub. Travis the cook and Tommie the bartender were quick and friendly in asking what we needed to eat and drink, and the service was prompt. We settled in with friends and family to enjoy the game (with all the screens there is not a bad seat in the house). My girlfriend and I loved our breakfast tacos, the chips & queso were right on, and the drinks strong and cold. The other servers working were polite and present for any needs we had. The bar has just enough of a dive feel to it to give it a great vibe, and the sports theme makes it clear that THIS would be a great place to watch any kind of game. A BIG shoutout to the team there for making us feel incredibly welcome and creating a fantastic experience. Great food, excellent service, and all the sports make this our new go-to for gameday.

My only regret is not taking advantage of this bar earlier in the football season. Excellent place for Watch parties! (I went to see my boys play the steelers). There is a group of hardcore cowboy fans that meet up on Sundays to watch the game organized by a guy named Dan (he's awesome). The service was excellent. Room full of rowdy fans and our food/drinks were on point with flavor, price, and the time it took from ordering to receiving the food. Our waiter was great! Didn't catch his name, but he was fantastic. I'm in love with Mister Tramps.

Mmmmmm....so appetizing. Note to cook: DRAIN THE BASKET

For reasons that make no sense to any experienced summer festival-goer, the Q2 powers-that-be decided to make this a "no re-entry" event, meaning that attendees are basically locked in the stadium with very few options for relief from the heat. Thank heaven for PointsBet Sports Bar! PointsBet Austin is located inside of Q2 stadium on the north end near the Zebra Gate, up some stairs just to your right as you enter the gate. They have cold air-conditioning, at least one phone recharging station, a few table games, seating for at least 50 people, and standing room for a couple hundred others. Plus, there's a huge horseshoe bar serving plenty of canned and mixed beverages. The whole north wall is floor-to-ceiling windows, providing plenty of natural light. Lastly, there are 18 flatscreens around the walls showing various sporting events and during our concert, a couple were streaming a live view of the concert stage. As expected, prices were "high" (like everything else in Austin these days), but they were in line with pricing available at the other beverage stands outside in the stadium, so we didn't pay any more than we would have out there for the same drink. According to their website, PointsBet opens 3 hours before soccer matches on regular Q2 game days, and it's one of the few air-conditioned places where non-VIP attendees can get a break from the goings-on outside.

It is a sports bar It has a million attractive wonderful aspects. It has a million pain in the neck aspects. Everything is a good news bad news joke. But the good news is pretty good. * * * I ran into the bad news right upon entering the restaurant. There was not a comfortable table to sit at anywhere in the restaurant except at the bar. Benches were so low that it was like being a four year old at the grown up table. I would have needed a telephone book to reach the table. Regular chairs don't face the TV so you have to crane your neck to see the sports. Comfortable curved sofa benches exist, but they are 500 miles from the TV. So I tried seat after seat after seat before ending up at the bar. The bar was okay. * * * The bar choices are ample and slim. There were surprisingly thin offerings on beer. There were WONDERFUL listings on bourbon and rye. I am a rye drinker, so I was in hog heaven. The tequila listings were pretty good too. Gin drinkers, scotch drinkers and vodka drinkers were just going to have to take what was available. The cocktail menu was about average. I was in a golden cloud of glory with all my choices. Angel's Envy Rye is first rate libation that is simultaneously fiercely peppery and sublimely smooth. Rough on the taste means usually means rough going down. This was BDSM with the grace of a feather. I was in love. * * * Chile con carne was a beautiful chili with brisket rather than the usual hamburger. Flavoring was superb. The brisket chunks were three times as big as you would comfortably want to put in your mouth all at once. You don't want to take a fork and knife to a bowlful of chili. So I was struggling to eat my meat all night while at the same time admiring the quality of the recipe. Cover 3 Kitchen Preppers: How much extra work is it really to cut your meat into manageablely sized pieces? * * * Garlic Mashed Potatoes had a picture of garlic walked in front of the potatoes while they were boiling. Garlic? What garlic? The handful of mouthfuls with butter were good. The rest was empty starch. * * * The human beings working the bar were fantastic. Two of the nicest and most helpful ladies working in the bartending trade. Good people count for a lot in a restaurant. * * * The sports televisions were great. Watching Duke eke out a one point win over Louisville in women's basketball was good times. * * * Then comes the dessert. Dark clouds. The brownie with three scoops of ice cream, candied pecans, and caramel sauce tasted fantastic. It was an irresistible end to a meal. But brownies should really really not be the size of a big box store. Remember from English class - "Enough! No More! Tis not so sweet now as it was before." The brownie was three to five times the size of a regular brownie - and this was before all the extra stuff was put on top of it. It was super rich and super good the way brownies are supposed to be. It was gooey the way super brownies are supposed to be. But the only human being in history who could have managed that sucker was Diamond Jim Brady, the notorious glutton of the Gilded Age. (Four T-bone steaks, two ducks, a half a dozen lobsters, three dozen oysters, two pounds of candy and an entire pastry tray were a normal dinner for him. He could go for more if there were special treats.) I went from being happy and in a good mood to being a little full, then more than full, then Jesus-Christ-I-Can't-Stand-It-Anymore. I left half of that brownie on my plate, and left Cover 3 nauseated and staggering. Not the way you want to end an otherwise fine evening. * * * Cover 3 has its definite attractions - even if you have to put up with the chairs. Bourbon and rye drinkers, take especial note. If you are going to have dessert, Bring a Sunday School bus full of second graders with you. One dessert will be enough to feed the bus.

One of our friends from Mexico City, Mexico says she wanted authentic Mexican food, and she says she always frequents Botanero Sports Bar when she comes to Austin. To be honest, I was skeptical...great Mexican food in a sports bar...sounded to me like an oxymoron. I was pleasantly surprised with the restaurant interior, food presentation and entrée authenticity. Loved the restaurant vibe...true Mexico. The only thing missing was a mariachi band. A band was coming in when we were leaving, so perhaps they were getting ready to play. Love mariachis...reminds me of home. After nibbling on complementary chips and salsa / spicy sauce, we ordered several dishes: fajitas, carne asada, flautas, and ceviche tower. The carne asada was hit and loved by the majority of us. The beef was tender and flavorful. Also, the plate came with refried beans, rice, onion, salad, and cactus along with tortillas. Most dishes came with rice and beans. The fajitas were served piping hot as you see streams of smoke coming from the skillet they were served on. The flautas were ok...would not order them again. In addition, while the ceviche tower was aesthetically beautiful, it was a bit bland. Important to note, was the serving dishes that were being presented throughout the restaurant such as a large soup bowl the size of a mixing bowl, a dish served in a large gray porous bowl that looked to be made from stone or shrimp served in a standing bowl that looked similar an oversized wine glass. It was so fun to watch all these presentations of food. Our friend had a birthday two days ago and we celebrated today. One of my friends ordered an appetizer/drink for the birthday girl. I have never seen anything like it. There were six cans of Modelo beer (beer had chamoy and tahine on the sides) covered on the top with cucumbers, shrimp, olives, and other mystery ingredients. This was so fascinating to watch. I ate a couple of spicy cucumbers but skipped the beer. My friends loved the beer! They ordered another Mexican beer called Victoria. This beer is from Mexico City. The restaurant staff provided our friend with a sombrero to wear while we sang happy birthday to her. They also provided a complimentary piece of chocolate cake. I was absolutely fascinated with experiencing this meal which titillated all your senses. I can honestly say this the most authentic Mexican restaurant that I have dined at in Austin!
