Tom Breton was very talented and took various song requests. I ordered: The 1/4lb cheese burger served along with their house fries. I also ordered a side Cesar Salad with Ranch for my dressing. Everything was delicious and it was great quality Ranch dressing. My only concern was my friend's Veggie Burger took longer than expected to be served. We rented a bungalow right across the street from Beachside Billy's. While at Volente beach we order a few appetizers and drinks. We learned not to use the QR code, as it adds gratuity automatically and wasn't easy to get back to our original opened tab, so we ended up with three separate bills. The appetizers were amazing! That cheese dip is a MUST HAVE! The Brussels sprouts were seared and delicious, and a very shareable portion. The drinks are overpriced and not really worth it. While at the bungalow we order burgers for dinner. My burger was SOOO salty and very thin. The house chips however, AMAZING! Very mixed opinions on their various menu items, definitely seems like the appetizers are the way to go, we'll try the pizza next time because $100 for not so great burgers was extremely disappointing. Editing to add: we did not switch tables. We were at one table the first day and a different table the second day. Only used the QR code the first day. Every time I opened the link for the opened tab to add to our order, the site would be signed out. When I would sign back in to my toast account it wouldn't show the open tab. read more

We decided to get away from Austin and come out to the lake for lunch on a Saturday and were pleasantly surprised the restaurant wasn't packed out. As a matter fact, there was just a handful of people sitting on the deck. When you finally reach this destination after driving through the winding curving road, you'll find parking to be very limited. Just a handful of spots out front and less than 10 across the street. Since this is a major tourist spot for waterpark attendees, towing is strictly enforced. We were acknowledged upon entering the place, but that's where the service pretty much ended as we sat at our table trying to understand the QR code and how to order. We sat at our table for 15 minutes trying to understand this QR menu with the never-ending scroll down. Service is definitely lacking and apparently printed menus are not a thing here. After 20 minutes the server finally did arrive to see why we weren't ordering. I was told they have very limited staff, which is why they go with the QR code. Problem is, we do all the ordering and they probably still expect a tip. Long story short, we finally just got up and left. The idea of coming here in the first place was to get away from frustration, problem-solving on a smart phone and poor service, as a result, this overcame the otherwise pleasant outdoor vibe. The food coming out to other tables looked good, just not great, which also cinched it. So if you're in to an almost total lack of service and confusing QR codes, this place is for you. If you've ever dreamed of spending $20 on three chicken nuggets pretending to be tenders, boy do I have the place for you! I ordered the "Chicken Tender Basket" expecting, you know... actual tenders. Instead, I got what looked like SpongeBob's leftover popcorn chicken. I've seen bigger tenders in Lunchables. And don't even get me started on the iced tea. One sip and I thought they accidentally gave me melted cough syrup. I asked if they had sweet tea and they said, "Oh yeah!" Yeah, as in syrup with a splash of water and a lemon slice for drama. I felt like I was drinking from the bottom of a melted snow cone. Now let's talk about the wait. I could've gone fishing, caught my own meal, grilled it on the beach, and written a memoir before my food showed up. I've seen glaciers move faster than this kitchen. And for the final insult--they charge for water. That's right. Tap water. From a hose, for all I know. $2 for a sad plastic cup of thirst disappointment. If you're into overpriced snacks, sticky drinks, and waiting long enough to question your life choices, Beach Side Billy's is the place for you. If not, keep walking until you find somewhere that actually serves food and not emotional damage. read more

This place has potential. I personally had a rough first experience. The place was BUSY. But from a first time perspective the only bar area that was open for the pirate theme party was too tiny for the volume of persons in the room. It was HOT and HUMID which I am sure effects the mood of both the workers and patrons. Only one of the four/five bartenders was actually attentive and seemed to care if I was taken care of. Which I was pretty patient, surprisingly. I used to be in the service industry so I know how that goes. I did notice that most of the bartenders seemed to have had a little TOO much of a good time-if you know what I mean. Which coincides with service and safety of the operation. Perhaps the managers should keep an eye on that. I as a female in that establishment did not feel safe at the bar and that hardly happens for me; so I dipped after 30-45 mins of being there. When you serve bar food and have so much concentration ON the bar it seems like a sports bar at best. The live music was a nice touch but you had to push through wave of intoxicated people to get to the back of the building to appreciate it; which tells me the bartenders didn't know how to cut some people off when they had a bit too much-- could be attributed to them having too much of a good time themselves.(I am not sure because I didn't stay too long to find out) There were kids so I am guessing it is meant to be a family friendly establishment. That did not seem safe or family friendly. The parking was a nightmare. Hardly any space and people having to block in other people to get parking. I also noticed there where significantly more workers tending the bar than people in the kitchen??? This place has potential to be great but I won't be back to see it if it ever does. read more

The atmosphere is really cool, the food tasted good for what we got. The price is steep for bad service. We didn't get drinks until after we got our food which was 45 mins from sitting down. No refills and never asked if we needed help. The yelp pictures and menus are completely different than that of the restaurant. A lot of food on the menu they were out of, just not good service and seems run down by management. Burger was delicious, pizza tasted like burger which was good. Salads were good. Atmosphere is cool. Keep in mind this place was not busy at all so for the service we received was unacceptable in any establishment. read more

Great views and friendly staff - two bars and a really nice Waterpark and private beach-

We went on Saturday late afternoon early evening. Make sure you have your phone with you because Beachside Bill's is also part of a waterpark. You must use your phone to order everything. Parking is available at the restaurant however on the weekends, you are encouraged to park in this gravel Lot a short walk from the restaurant. I was a little hesitant to order everything off the app, but it worked out OK. We sat outside and listen to some live music while we waited for. Dinner partner had the Reuben on rye bread with the house french fries. He commented that the meat was very moist and the sauerkraut was very flavorful. The french fries were pretty weak. I had the roasted turkey club on ciabatta bread. With the Billy's potato chips. It was very flavorful. The bacon was crisp and you could taste a hint of a smoking in the turkey. This place is very laid-back with couples and families enjoying the outdoors and the live music. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a nice place to go outside of Austin that is not crowded with tourist this place is down the road from hippie Hollow will go back in when I go to Austin again. read more

This was formerly Volente Beach Water Park. I approve of the new owners and management! This was our first visit to Beachside Billy's. We had a great day here with the kids! We had a relaxing day since it wasn't very crowded. If you're Mom, go on Wed. or Thursday when there's lower admission price for Moms, $5 frozen margarita's, $2.50 domestics, and half off appetizers, etc. Since it's early summer, this water park was not very crowded - yay!! There are 2 sand volleyball courts and a volleyball net set up in the pool. Teens really like the volleyball courts and were using all of them. We have younger kids who really like the water obstacle course, tubular slides and the insanely tall (roller coaster-like) water slide with the 2-person raft. There are 3 tubular waterslides: 2 regular tubular slides like you see at the rest of the waterparks. The 3rd slide was different, like a toilet-bowl where you shoot down the hole into a 9 ft pool of water after being swished around in a large opening. There was a shortage of orange rafts and mats for those who wanted to slide or raft. The super tall ride using the orange raft was scary the first time I tried it - it was so fun, such an adrenaline rush!! There are just a few cabanas and loungers around the pool. The water is piped in from Lake Travis, not chlorinated water. There's a sandy beach area with white plastic loungers. A rectangular section of Lake Travis is enclosed for swimmers. Frozen margaritas were yummy!! The shaded outdoor deck on the backside of the restaurant has very nice decor. There are bathrooms at the entrance and also inside the restaurant. Parking is up the hill and just a short walk down to the entrance. I was told they offer shuttle service on the weekends. Prices for kids admission is based on their height and whether they will use the slides or not. There's a cooler charge if you want to bring in your own food/beverage. Perfect spot for a Sunday (or Saturday) funday, or somewhere to hang after a day on the lake. There's cornhole and volleyball in the back of the restaurant, perfect way to burn off that indulging bar food. If I'd recommend anything, it'd be the appetizers. We stopped by for lunch around 11:30 and it was not busy at all. Very nice setting with the covered patio with awesome view to the lake. The lunch menu was limited but we gave it a shot. Our bbq wings came out warm and crispy, though I was missing the carrots and celery sticks. Then we had to wait for a while to get a hold of our waiter for the entree order. We had the Philly sandwich, which was okay; would have been better with a little more sautéed onions. Then the burgers, which should come out a little hotter. The chicken tenders basket was nice and crispy, and again, came out lukewarm instead of hot. The fries that came with the burgers/sandwich were really salty. Now the chips were excellent; crispy and tasty, and not salty at all. Should have gotten chips for all the baskets. Then the last dish was the caprese salad, which could use a little greener basil leaves and a little more extra virgin olive oil. It was decent food for a nice setting, but there's definitely room for improvements if the place wants to bring it up a notch. read more

The "waterpark" is one of the stranger things I've seen. As others have said, the very small park (maybe 2 slides and a half-pipe) is filled with water from Lake Travis. It was pretty green and had a lots of plant life and other nature's goodies in it. I like the concept for conservation, cost, uniqueness, and it's overall super laid back vibe; however, I think I would have to have enjoyed a few adult bevs before jumping in. And the "swim up bar" they advertise for "adult nights" is teeny tiny in the middle of the gross lake "pool." Regardless of the water quality the entire park could use a major face lift. Old and stained lounge chairs, cracked and chipped concrete about, and metal railing all rusted out. Now, the "beach" area is a little better. Several picnic tables and a decent view (poor dehydrated Lake Travis). Apparently you can BYOGrill and cook on the beach as I saw a few piles of used, discarded charcoal dumped onto the sand. There's also a sand volley ball court. BUT, huge, BUT...waterpark admission is required to use the beach area. At $21.99 p/p ($15.99 for kids under 42") - eeks, me thinks not!!! If it was $8 for adults & $5 for kids SCVB waterpark would've earned a 3rd star - that's about what it's worth. read more

The owner called me and explained what happened that day and was very nice and courteous. I love their burgers and don't want to give them bad scores because of one bad apple. Back to 5 stars which they deserve. I love this place per my previous 5 star review but the service at the main bar is just unacceptable so this review is for that service only as it's just happened far too many times now for me not to say something. YELPERS please note- the burgers are bomb! Meaning, the cooks rock as their food is delicious. The food and the outdoor bar servers all still deserve 5 stars. However, the girls at the main bar are just awful. They do not care at all about customer experience and that just shouldn't be tolerated. The guys at the outdoor bar are awesome and I can describe the other servers who are awesome and helpful but there are a handful of people ( one ring leader is the girl at main bar who won't give her name but is blond with a tank top on today and a brunette waitress with her who is no better) who are just disrespectful. They told people 30 more min before anyone can order food as they are backed up. They informed everyone waiting that they wouldn't take any orders and that they had to come back in 30 min to place an order due to the kitchen being backed up. No problem- until multiple people wait there for over 30 min and you just keep pushing the timeline out with no regard or apology of paying customers time. Over an hour goes by. I then speak to people who I saw just got food and they explain they are ordering from the bar. I go to the bar and am allowed to immediately place my order with the awesome helpful guys there one full hour after being told to wait 30 min and my food was out 15 min later. Don't provide a timeline and not honor it when you see patrons waiting patiently. Do you just not want to work? After I finished my food the blond one is still not allowing people to give orders at the main bar. That would make the actual timeline over 2 hours. She then started to get annoyed at the customers and act like they were being irritating for following up. Um- I'm sorry people are hungry and waiting patiently on the timeline you provided only to then try and order but be told it will be another 30 min when you said that almost 2 hours ago? I mean ..really? Not even an apology? Why didn't you say anything to people when you knew they were waiting ? You had to wait until they waited the full timeline given and came to inquire very nicely so you could just rudely inform them that it will actually be an additional 30 min? So sorry people are hungry and waiting to order food for their family. If the kitchen is that backed up then fine ( clearly it's not though given my order coming out immediately when placed at the bar ) but I really don't see the issue with taking people's orders and telling them it will be over an hour- at least they then don't need to wait and/or keep coming back to the bar after waiting and following the timeline given. The way she among a few others ( it's obvious it's a handful of girls that are those type of girls- they just want to complain and bitch and never appreciate things ) handle/treat customers makes it very clear that they don't give a shit about the customers experience, which means she is not trustworthy and never will be. If I were the owner I would fire her and her crew and find someone who cares about your business. When customers are being patient and understanding it should be easy to be a respectable kind human. To be anything other just shows that you're never going to be a trusted employee so the sooner you get rid of those people the sooner you build a better culture and customer experience. read more

I was excited to try this place because it was on the water and located next to a waterpark. We had spent a long day on Lake Travis and needed a bite to eat badly. It took almost 15 minutes for someone to even give us a menu. Not even sure why we waited that long, but we were tired of driving and being out in the sun all day. Also, the floors were extremely sticky so I had to move my seat. Our server was friendly, however she got my order wrong. I told her I did not want any bacon on the veggie burger (you can make any burger there a veggie/impossible burger). It is always very disappointing for a vegetarian to have their meal delivered with meat on it. The burger was very good- I'll give them that. The service was subpar, I have to admit. They were not even busy and they just seemed way too overstaffed. Too many servers with very little to do, except focus on tables, which wasn't done. read more

But I would not go back for indoor seating with how the waitress was treating customers. The waitress honestly ruined my experience dining there but I would consider coming back during the summer for the water slides.
