Pinthouse PIzza Electric Jellyfish

I usually end up at their sister bar down the street but my friend wanted to stop in and check it out. The Mill is a bit dive-y/locally and depending on who is playing can seem either really rowdy and laidback. The space is really large, divided roughly into thirds, a third is pool tables, the largest is the bar area and then there's the stage. The bar has a lot of taps and a bunch of coolers that rival the beer section of a 7-11 and that's where the majority of their craft and craftier selections are. While it's impressive to see it was hard to navigate, there wasn't a menu available and I ended up just getting the IPA they had on tap. That said it was an easygoing place and worth a repeat at some point.

First time checking this place out on Tuesday. A new friend invited me to meet for karaoke and we had a fun time! It wasn't so crowded so we were easily able to get two songs in each while I was there. The waitress was very nice but busy so we didn't see her often and I had to go to the bar for a water refill once. The customers that day, as well as the gal spinning the karaoke tunes, were really sweet and welcoming...lovely, positive energy. The food was typical bar type food: fried, which I don't usually eat, but I ordered the chicken tenders with tots and I liked it. My friend had their Tuesday steak special which came out more medium than medium rare and a wedge salad with ranch dressing. I know it wouldn't fit with the theme, but adding a few more healthy options to the menu would be a nice add, imo.

Pretty chill place. Got to meet Wess the owner one night, fun guy to hangout with. May not recall much from that night honestly. Very open area inside, couple of pool tables with plenty of patrons ready to join in, nice outside patio, drink prices are decent! A big plus is the prohibition next door. Owned by the same people. Me thinks I shall come here more often.

We stumbled across the Mill after an early evening of running errands. My impression is that this is a good local dive joint. Drinks are reasonably priced and are a good pour. There do have a kitchen and when we were there one buck oysters were available during happy hour. There is a full bar menu that is heavy on wings and typical bar Apps. There's a pool table and a few games to keep you amused. Multiple TVs are available if you wish to catch a game. When there is a live band it's loud really loud. Acoustics are not the best due to the high metal ceiling. Lastly, there is a fenced-in outside patio if you prefer a more quiet setting. Service on a crowded night was very good and the manager came by a couple of times to check on us. Bottom line the Mill is a cool dive bar that we will visit again.

For reasons that make no sense to any experienced summer festival-goer, the Q2 powers-that-be decided to make this a "no re-entry" event, meaning that attendees are basically locked in the stadium with very few options for relief from the heat. Thank heaven for PointsBet Sports Bar! PointsBet Austin is located inside of Q2 stadium on the north end near the Zebra Gate, up some stairs just to your right as you enter the gate. They have cold air-conditioning, at least one phone recharging station, a few table games, seating for at least 50 people, and standing room for a couple hundred others. Plus, there's a huge horseshoe bar serving plenty of canned and mixed beverages. The whole north wall is floor-to-ceiling windows, providing plenty of natural light. Lastly, there are 18 flatscreens around the walls showing various sporting events and during our concert, a couple were streaming a live view of the concert stage. As expected, prices were "high" (like everything else in Austin these days), but they were in line with pricing available at the other beverage stands outside in the stadium, so we didn't pay any more than we would have out there for the same drink. According to their website, PointsBet opens 3 hours before soccer matches on regular Q2 game days, and it's one of the few air-conditioned places where non-VIP attendees can get a break from the goings-on outside.

My husband enjoyed the chicken and waffles and isn't a big eater but it just wasn't a lot of food. It was literally ONE chicken tender divided between ONE waffle. Please see the pic. He said they were heavy on the honey butter and light on the chicken and waffles. This dish didn't come with any sides or other food. 2. Both kids (despite my advice) ordered breakfast. The eggs were ordered over easy and unfortunately they came broken and already runny (pic). The bacon on one was so very very crisp and on the other it was floppy. The hash browns were cooked in so much oil that it felt like you were eating oil - not potatoes. The biscuits were dry. The jalapeño gravy was tasty but we needed a lot more of it to make up for the dry biscuit. 3. Finally, I disliked my food last time which is why we hadn't been back for 4 years but everyone deserves another chanc. Today I ordered off their "specials" menu and got redfish. Redfish is one of my favorite fish so I was excited to try it. When it came I was happy because it was a nice sized portion (see pic). Then I tasted it. It was so fishy and as I picked it apart,I could see it was the blood vein piece. I could not eat it. My teenager is a vacuum and ate it. I then finished our 10 year olds left over eggs breakfast. The green beans under the fish were cooked well. I thought at least I can eat the green beans. Then I took another bite and noticed the SALT. I love my salt. I'm known to salt everything but these were just so so salty I couldn't enjoy them. I did eat them because I was hungry (and later my son's leftover egg dish). The other patios all had a wait. The server was sweet and the food came out fast.
