We visited Foxhole Culinary Tavern during their daily social hour (3-6:30 PM, and all night Sunday & Monday) and loved it! The deals are fantastic. We started with the Texas Queso, which comes with skirt steak, and the tortilla chips were fresh and homemade- perfect for dipping. The Crispy Potato Croquettes were a highlight too, with six generous portions that were golden and delicious. We also shared the Chauvinist Pig flatbread- topped with applewood bacon, sausage, roasted corn, pickled red jalapeño, green onion, mozzarella, smoked gouda, and chipotle BBQ. Every bite was incredible; the flavors all balanced so well. Service was attentive and friendly, and the menu has something for everyone, from elevated entrees to hearty sandwiches. Another great experience here at the Foxhole. I ordered the Venison Chili a small salad. The chili had a little spice but I had no issues with it. It had a wonderful flavors. The salad was fresh. Great food. I also enjoyed a gin and tonic with my meal. Our server was excellent taking care of our needs. She even thanked me for asking questions. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as bar seating, table and booth seating. Parking is a little tight on a busy night. Came here for lunch and arrive shortly after they opened. No crowd, but a few patrons we present. Festive holiday decorations made for a nice dining experience. Christa (waitress) was on top of her game with service. She made the recommendation of the house burger, since that's what I was in the mood for. Also raved about the blackened fries. What I loved most was she gave me a solid disclaimer about the spicy dill pickles - of which I am not a fan of. The burger was made as ordered. This is a HUGE burger! I only was able to finish half. We made our return here finally for a reading date. We came in the mid afternoon, right after brunch hour so it wasn't very busy. We had entered right after another group so the hostess was away seating them and we had to wait a little to be seated. Not long but just a heads up, just one hostess at the time we went, which makes sense. We started with Venison meatballs this time which were very good, as was the bread that comes with it. I tried the Old Fashioned they make and Shana went with the Banana foster cold brewtini once more, we ended up trading as I was not a fan of their old fashioned. I had the whiskey peddler as my second drink and Shana kept her 2nd Banana foster. Our server started out a little aloof but was turned out nice and fast. Shana got a Salmon meal (shock) and really enjoyed it, I got a steak sandwich as they only have mushroom gravy for the meal I wanted and I really dislike mushroom flavor. The sandwich was okay, not anywhere as good as the burger in my opinion, it was fine but not going to be a go to. The vibe is low key, they had sports on the many TV's and while it never got crowded it was never empty either. The lower score is really just my thoughts on the drink and my meal. The service was still good, the issue is really with me but I just didn't find the first drink or the sandwich as good as the previous time. This place is really good . It took me awhile to try it since it's averaging only 4 stars but honestly it's better than that! The ambience inside is really pretty. soft lighting, twinkle lights but yet casual with Sports TVs and a bartender in the middle. We had the ribeye and the margarita pizza (my choice). Both were super good but my fav was the margarita. My husbands was the steak. We were too full for dessert but i had eyed the Godiva chocolate cake since before we entered and wished my stomach had room for it! We would come here more regularly. It's not as fancy as a steakhouse but it's definitely a notch above Jack Allens if you want want to compare in terms of "fanciness". also they only have the delicious potato croquettes during the happy hour times so fyi go then if you want it! read more

I just have one question about a new tax that I saw on my ticket tonight, that I don't quite understand. The cost of a beer on happy hour is supposed to be six dollars. However, when I'm looking at the taxes, I see that you've added a 50 Cent mixed drink charge. When I asked the bartender about this, he said that it's a fee that you guys pass along for every drink that's ordered. So if I had had two beers that tax would've been a dollar meeting that the actual cost of your beers is $6.50, not the $6 advertised. Can you guys help explain why you have this charge? read more

My wife and I finally made it to foxhole culinary tonight, and wow - what a fantastic first impression! This place is literally 10 minutes from our house, and I can't believe we've been missing out for so long. Our server, Austin, was absolutely phenomenal. He knew the menu inside and out, answered every question perfectly, and stayed on top of everything without ever hovering - the ideal balance of attentive and respectful. The young gentleman working the section with him was equally sharp and jumped in seamlessly to help; great teamwork all around. We started with an appetizer that was A1 - seriously delicious and the perfect portion to share. For the main, we split the wagyu chicken fried steak on a whim (I'm usually not a fan of chicken fried steak), and it turned out to be one of the best I've ever had. The steak was perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful, and the chimichurri was an inspired pairing that elevated the whole dish. Drinks were mostly a win: my second cocktail was spot-on and lovely. The espresso martini could use a tweak - when I asked for Bailey's, I didn't expect it to be quite so heavy-handed (it was almost all Bailey's!), but that's a minor nitpick in an otherwise excellent evening. We're already planning our return to try more of the menu. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and go - you won't be disappointed! Highly recommend. read more

So glad I discovered Foxhole. My mom, sister and I went for dinner. Our waitress was awesome. She was friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. She made great suggestions. We started with the pretzels appetizer (divine) and the fried potato cakes, which my sister loved. I had the Braised Short Rib, Sis had the Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp, and Mom had the Wood Fired Skewer. It was my first time visiting Foxhole Tavern, as I normally pass it when driving on 183 but never really thought much of it until recently. Came in for a Sunday brunch and started off with drip coffee, and the eggs benedict dish without bacon. Austin was the name of our server and he was super attentive and kind. The benedict dish was not too big or small---it was just right! The potato cubes had a light spicy seasoning and mayo sauce, but we were also able to request ketchup. In addition to the hollandaise sauce, the muffins were topped with a scrumptious spinach artichoke dip, and sliced cherry tomatoes were a sweet accompaniment on the side. My bf and I also shared a Belgian waffle, which came out beautifully presented. Just enough jam, syrup, and fruit! I also recommend sitting outside if the weather is nice. It can get pretty dark inside and sometimes there is a live band playing music so that cam be a nuisance if you prefer to eat in a quieter setting. read more

Friendly and accommodating. it was Saturday night at 6:00 and not busy at all. the food was just okay. I ordered the filet and expected a bit more for $51.00. It did not have much flavor and was quite chewy. It only came with mashed potatoes. My husband ordered the turkey grilled cheese. It was stacked high and he said that it was "fine". Nothing special. He also ordered the turkey tortilla soup which did have a good flavor. The price for the quality was just not worth it. read more

Buffalo Flatbread seemed to be store bought with chicken nuggets dry (like microwaved) and with basically no buffalo sauce. Tacos were terrible. Flour tortilla was really bad, chicken seemed like a sweet and sour chicken, pork belly was super dry and overcooked and steak needed some kind of seasoning and also was super overcooked. Food: the wood-fired steak salad was tasty, but almost too pungent? I think the horseradish vinaigrette + balsamic mushrooms + Gouda just had a lot of strong flavors competing. He responded that it was the correct pour and if I wanted to be satisfied I would need to buy another martini to make up for the other half of space in my glass.... Wow! All in all this is a great local spot! The staff are super friendly although sometimes busy and you have to flag them down. The food is good. Enough that I can go back with my friend who is here as her go to local place. On Taco Tuesday they have a cheeseburger taco that's delicious!!! The drinks are okay but always seem to miss the mark a bit. The espresso martini is lacking. Aperol spritz a bit too sour. I want to love them but they're just okay. Seared ahi tuna - i have been to foxhole few times and this seared ahi tuna salad is always spot on. Just the right amount of dressing and great combination of vegetables & greens. Kobe burger - the Kobe burger is flavorful however the caramelized onion is more on the sweeter side- 7/10 Wood fired airline chicken - The sofrito rice is very flavorful and has aromatic, the airline chicken was very juicy and well done. This restaurant was a nice surprise when we were heading over to Alamo Drafthouse for a movie. The building is nice but somewhat anonymous in the Target mall parking lot in which it sits. Looks can be deceiving however as the interior is a very casual but attractive bar and dining room. Our dinner started with the venison meatball appetizer. The meatballs had a very smooth texture and no hint of game. It came in a spicy sauce that had the perfect amount of heat. It was really delicious and a great starter for the dinner. We had the meatloaf and a cheeseburger, both accompanied by a house salad. The salads were carefully assembled from fresh greens, not the usual Dole salad bag you often get, and dressed with homemade blue cheese. Both entrees were excellent as well, cooked spot-on with proper use of salt and spices. Everything came out of the kitchen hot as well, and the server kept up with drinks and making sure the food came right out to us. Overall, it was a great meal and we'll be coming back. Very nice inside and customer service was good, but let down by the food quality, which didn't really live up to the expectation set by the price. The tuna salad was supposed to be sushi grade, but had a large line of gristle running through all of the pieces. We had a side salad that tasted of fish and had obviously been completely made earlier in the morning and stored premade in the refrigerator, so all the croutons were soggy as was the parmesan crisp. read more
