My family and I have been coming to this location of Java Cafe ever since we moved to Pflugerville. This place is by far one of my favorite places for breakfast/brunch. It was or first time sitting at the bar since we have been coming here for 13 years now. All I can say you get to witness the experience and coordinated pace that this staff works to make your food, drinks, coffee, all while managing to know exactly who you are and where they are with your food. One of the key factors of the staff's success and professionalism, is the fact that this place is veteran owned. You can see the traits passed down from a military perspective. They have a variety of coffee, espresso, bloody Mary, tequila sunrise, etc The food here is amazing, I have tried almost everything they have offered on their menu that fits my taste buds. My favorite is the western omelet. When they offer their churro pancakes or donut you have to try these specials. They are total worth the sweet tooth taste. Please do not be discouraged to visit when you see the long line. I have waited anywhere from 5-10 minutes to 45 minutes. The wait is worth it in my opinion. We've been talking about going here for years but don't go out to eat for breakfast near our house, really ever. Well, on Sunday, we decided to finally check it out for a late lunch/brunch. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs and she had the migas. The steak was cooked well but could use a touch more seasoning but the eggs and hashbrown and rye bread were all delicious. We were slightly dissapointed they don't make their own tortillas but outside of that, my fiance really enjoyed the migas and said the salsa was good. I've had a long history with Cafe Java. I dined here for over 15 years and loved every single experience before ownership transitioned several years ago. My first time back after the transition left me with a terrible experience from service to food. After being away for a couple years now, we decided to give it a try again on multiple occassions and I'm happy to report the good service and good food is back! As always, the diversity of the menu has been able to attend to all tastes in our party and the daily specials make each visit a new adventure. My Cafe Java experience was not very enjoyable. I heard this was a great brunch spot in Round Rock. The wait Sunday morning for a table for two was only five minutes, so my visit was off to a great start. However, after we were seated, no one brought us our menus. We waited a long time until I just got up and grabbed the menus from the bar. Our waitress seemed to be disoriented and confused, likely due to cognitive decline, and I felt very bad for her. This did not really make for good service. I ordered the breakfast sandwich, which looked like low-grade summer camp food. It appeared that there was a slice of Kraft Singles cheese on it. It tasted almost as dreary as it looked. The hash browns were very dry. My side of French toast was good but too sweet. I tried my friend's blueberry pancakes and thought they were good. They were very rich in blueberries. Strange that the pancakes were dark brown though. At least the prices were normal (except the breakfast sandwich). read more
