We stopped by during happy hour on a Wednesday, it started to get a little crowded by 6 but it was fairly easy to find seating when we arrived an hour earlier! I've driven by this place a hundred times but finally decided to give it a shot due to all the good reviews I was seeing on Yelp! I really liked how spacious it was indoors and they have an outdoor section as well if you're into melting in the summer heat. Their flat breads were surprisingly good, it was perfectly cooked and they have many different options. They have a good selection of drinks to choose from during happy hour. On a date night, we found this tavern using the YELP app! So, glad we stumbled upon it! We had a slight wait as it was Friday evening; if you can, call ahead. They have a happy hour until 630, but we didn't make it in time for that. The waiter we had made delicious recommendations that we were so glad we listened to him. I was torn between the bacon-wrapped shrimp and grits and the venison meatloaf. So happy I went with the shrimp and grits! These are not your mealy gritty grits; they were smooth and flavorful! The shrimp were large, and the bacon was not soggy at all. My husband got the salmon and angel hair pasta; im, not a salmon fan, but the pasta was flawlessly cooked! He says he would get the grits next time. For dessert, we got the upside-down pineapple cake with a side of ice cream. The cake was a little overcooked, but that didn't stop me from not wanting to share it. Overall, the experience was on point, and we will be back; I'll get the meatloaf next time. Came here for dinner with my grandparents and we had a great time! The service here was great and the interior of the restaurant was very beautiful and well decorated. I liked how the place was dimly lit and the outside patio also looked lovely. I got the jumbo bacon wrapped shrimp on a bed of cheesy grits. It was really great! My one critique is that I wish this place had a larger menu. I had a really difficult time deciding what I wanted to order because of the smaller menu size. I really enjoyed this place. We've driven by thousands of times, and finally made it in. The appetizers were on point. The quail was beyond delicious. The pork belly crostini was also amazing. There's a third I think I'm forgetting. My entree was the bacon wrapped shrimp, atop a bed of bomb ass grits. Fluffy, delicious, corn flavor coming through, just delicious. It was cold inside, so after we ate we got frozen lemonades out on the patio, and it was delightful. Went for dinner on a Friday night on a double date. Our waiter, Mario, was great. He was welcoming, attentive and kind. We got a few appetizers, the venison meatballs and the Brussel sprouts. While the restaurant in general is a solid 4 stars, the Happy Hour is easily 5 stars. Lots of good options, good food, at a great place. The One Night in Jaurez flatbread is really good - the steak on it was exceptionally tender, and really well seasoned, and the flatbread was nicely crispy. Personally I prefer the Chauvanist Pig flatbread, which I have gotten in the past, but Jaurez did not disappoint. The gumbo (not on the happy hour menu) was really good, it had a lot of good flavor to it, but was a little too hot for my taste. My husband was not too impressed with his wedge salad, way too much core and really bland tomato. But in the past we've tried several different tacos, which have all been excellent and are only $5/each for Happy Hour. The atmosphere is great - a great looking bar, fun decor, a large communal table if you have a big group, lots of TVs if there is a game you want to watch. I am in Austin for a long weekend. My son's friends suggested we go here. What amazing and creative dishes. I had the steak salad which doesn't sound original but the horseradish mustard vinaigrette combined with wood fired steak really had amazing flavors. The food was delicious and the server did his best, but he accidentally swapped my credit card with someone else's card that looks very similar. The other patron left with my credit card, and I had to immediately lock my card so that no additional charges would be made by the other patron. My girlfriend was kind enough to pay for dinner. I eventually canceled the card and requested a new one since I'm assuming the other patron never returned with my card, and Foxhole did not reach back out to me. I get it, there are a lot of similar cards out there, and people make mistakes. I totally appreciate that to err is human. But this wasn't a busier evening, and my real name is very distinct, so it wouldn't require a lot of attention to distinguish my card from another. Now, I'm getting notices that I've missed scheduled automated payments from the original card. So I get to spend the better part of an afternoon logging into these accounts and changing payment methods. I think from the inconvenience side of things, it would have been nice to have been given some sort of compensation for all of this trouble. A gift card maybe? A comped meal? I don't know what the right decision is for a business. But I will say this has been a huge pain to deal with. read more

We had an an incredible meal. We hadn't been back in a while as the menu was stale. We sat and Chris our server ( ask for him) laid out the changes to the menu and made great suggestions.
