This bar is a bit on the small side, that said, the crowd is usually fun and doesn't get (too) unruly. I go on Friday night for Karaoke. The KJ is a lot of fun and knows what she's doing! They have very friendly bartenders and nightly drink specials. No food served (at least not when I've been) but most places deliver here! read more

The events of last Thursday proved to me that disrespect and blatant unprofessional behavior are tolerated with no consequences and that alone is scary. How do you have a bartender serving drinks under the influence of narcotics and being aggressive with patrons. The bartender Chris was out of line for his behavior and Derek, the other bartender didn't make it any better. He was also confrontational and very aggressive while referring to patrons as "animals". Big shots will never get my business again, but it's not like I go there often anyway. And the owners should be ashamed of themselves for allowing such nonsense. read more

My 5 friends and I (Engineers & Educators) came in and I should've known to leave when the bartender was rude to us from the beginning. I asked if he could make me something with Malibu or Greygoose and he said no & I had to know what to tell him to make... (never heard of that & he was very short with me.) Despite the rudeness, we ordered drinks and sang karaoke. One of my friends decided to sing a Spanish song and we were denied, bc "the owner does NOT allow any Spanish songs in the establishment." (Even though they had Spanish songs and they were in the karaoke book.) Found out the bartender was the owner and despite us talking to him and he seeing my friend in tears, he continued to refuse. My girlfriend and I popped in during a pub crawl on her birthday, and what a hidden surprise. The bartender, Chris, had my girl spin the shot wheel, and he bought her a shot! The drink was a "pixie stick," and it tasted amazingly like the candy from our childhood. Chris was friendly and efficient, and the drinks were excellent. There is a very nice laidback, dive bar feel to the place, and it is a comfortable hangout. We will definitely come back in the fall to watch football. Last night went there with my girlfriend and friend, made some nice conversations and by the end of it got accused of being racist and got ran out by the door by someone who said they were part owner!!!!! A decent joint. It's a bar pure and simple - with no food service. You are in Round Rock. People are allowed to smoke up here and people do. The bar features special shots (buttery nipples and the like) - the choice of which varies by day of the week. The bar selection has very few yuppie beers, a bunch of decent bottles of everyday whiskey and a huge selection of utility flavored vodkas. I drank Jameson's but I could see running through the flavored vodkas. Drink sizes are generous - and you get served in glass, not plastic. The night I was there, there was a fine DJ, playing old school hiphop - videos included - broken up with the occasional hair band. Superior listening. It was good to see Snoop Dogg back in action - along with his many female dancing friends. Plenty of TV screens and decent sports to watch. The best part of Big Shotz is the crowd. It is a youngish crowd running between 25 and 30. It is extremely diverse. I would say the room was half black, half white. (Whiter near the pool tables, blacker near the bar). Everyone was getting along. There was a lot of mixing and general all purpose glad handing. Many of the regulars knew each other. But the place is not cliqueish. I am much older than the typical patron - and was there on a first visit. And people were still introducing themselves to me and including me in conversations. I am not used to that and I was kind of impressed. Good booze, good music, good tv, nice people. There is a lot to like here. **** P.S. One of the "not recommended reviews" by Eager E. actually has intelligent things to say. The review implies that this is a hangout for off duty Round Rock and Williamson county police people. That would make sense. It would fit the age group. It would fit the diversity. it would fit the fact that many of the patrons seemed to know each other. It would fit the fact that most of the people I saw looked physically fit. My takeaway from this? Cops make good drinking buddies. And there were zero riff-raff and zero discipline problems. Ive been here at least 2x. Once we came in and were playing pool when we noticed there was a tiny tv outside that had the spurs game on. b/c my fiancee loves me despite my love for the SPURS he asked the bartender to put that game on to the bigscreen in the pool table area. Love love loved that. 2nd time we came in here was a few weekends ago. We had the shot of the day. whatever thatwas on saturday. They were having their 1 year anniversary party and they were having an 80's party. They were cutting cake or something but I guess that was just for the regulars b/c we were never offered any which is fine, it was a liquid kinda diet that day. We had a few drinks, great waitress/bartender girl, very sweet. Too bad she was leaving for Chicago b/c she was very nice without being too "so what are you ordering next kinda vibe" Loved her!. And she didnt charge me for a drink I ordered that was gross. . not her fault a vodka tonic with lime tasted like an air freshner sitting in my car mixed with pine sol .. .but the fact that she didnt charge me for it without even asking will have me returning for sure. DIdnt like that the only guy in the bar smoking decided to sit next to me after I just straighted my hair that morning. . I hate smelling like an ash tray. AIR.... must... find.... AIR..... This bar inside looked super cool and had a million TVs and lots of smiling faces in there. But they were chain smoking smiling faces, each one-a them. Every Olympic chain smoker in the radius was here. If you are not used inhaling cigarette smoke instead of sweet oxygen filled air, this ain't your place. I had to walk out as immediately as I walked in and I still smelled like smoke all night after my 14 second visit here. Lookie Here Big Shotz. So this is a great small local bar for those that smoke and like to drink as they smoke or play a little pool. The prices are right. So if you are a smoker this is the place for you. So if you do not like being in a high smoking environment then you have been warned. I hope they are successful because I think that smokers should have a place they can go and not worry about having to go outside and smoke. So if you smoke I think you will love this bar. However, I will exorcize my right to not go here since it is a smoking environment. Nice but very SMALL sports bar for a Friday happy hour when we went. Place is in the same parking lot with Chuck E Cheese along the eastbound Hwy 45 access road. Haven't been there during a sports Saturday but there are mid-sized flatscreens all around and a tiny stage up front apparently for a karaoke or solo artist night. Draft beer selection is limited to just the main domestics plus Dos XX. Bottle selection is mostly domestic, too. They could really use a couple local TX brews, but they DO have their full liqour license. Oh and just forewarning for the anti-smoking nazis - yes, this is Austin ETJ so there are ashtrays on the back tables! Jim and Kelli (owners) usually bartend and are friendly. This review might make me show my liberal progressive hippieish uppity roots. I couldn't find a decent bar or think of one at least so yelp provides this place as around the corner. Why not? I may as well give up because two places in our area have spoiled me. One is the Black Star co-op which is my favorite all around pub for food and drink. The Westside Alehouse is second due to friendly staff, decent food and a great beer selection in Round Rock. Big Shotz is a clean, hole in the wall with a pool table in back. I don't like sports, don't watch sports and I also don't care for flavored vodka. That might skew my review. Drink prices are cheap but I usually just have a beer. The pool table in back is fine. It's a bar, what else do you say? Here's where I turn irritable. I noticed people smoking. I didn't mind the smoke at first. The fans seem to be pulling the air up so not so bad. When I left, I wreaked of it. I haven't had that happen in so long I forgot what it's like when someone smokes inside a building. I'd consider going here again but it's only if other places I enjoy more aren't open. read more

I absolutely love this bar. Not only do they have what I would consider the most epic selection of flavored vodkas I have ever seen, but they also are so reasonably priced that it makes happy hour a joy! Cookie Dough Vodka!!! I love that they have local music at nights too that is not just the same old stuff you see everywhere. It is great to go in one night and get rockabilly and then another night to get cover songs we all love (and sing along to). Even in the afternoon there is good music playing or sports. The staff is super friendly and there was less drama (that is always handled quickly when it does pop up like at every bar.) They even offered to call a cab for anyone who seemed a little tipsy. It was nice to see their concern! I didn't notice what the other comments said about it being too smokey on the number of times I have been in there. I don't smoke and typically am highly affected by smoke, but it doesn't bother me here at all. I am glad that I don't have to spend the entire night outside with my smoking friends because they allow smoking inside. This is the bar that my girlfriends and I go to when we want to go out! Closer to home than 6th street and a wide variety of people to meet and talk to and you can actually hear them. I recommend this bar to anyone who lives north! read more

Hubby and I have dropped by this place about 3 times. It's a great place to grab a beer and catch a game. There isn't food though which is always a bummer in a drinking establishment. We went back more then once because beer wasn't bad but they had great new country music playing on the radio which I loved. It was a nice relaxed environment...reason we won't go back again.... the smoking. If you are a smoker, you'll love the bar but as a non-smoker, I'd rather go across the street and not smell afterwards. Service was always great with the bartender waiting tables as well. Been drinking at this bar since it first opened. Good selection of beers and liquor. The daily specials are awesome from bloody mary's to well specials. Regulars are fun and talkative. Has free pool Sunday to Tuesday which I'm a huge fan of. This bar is a great place for a few drinks or to watch the game. Plenty of televisions and if your game isnt on the bartenders or the owners will usually put it on for you. If you are a UT fan this is your bar by the way. I visit Big Shotz on May 2nd and 3rd of 2014. I was very impressed with the serves and the common courtesy. You could tell it was a family bar everyone was so kind and got along. You feel like you're one big family and you don't want to leave. That was the first night The next night they had crawfish welcoming you with open arms. I know when I go back to Austin to visit I definitely will be stopping in at Big Shotz. My girls felt the same way as I do about the bar. Best experience for celebrating my 41st birthday. read more

What started out as a happy hour hangout has become my bar of choice when I want to hear great bands, watch my favorite sports team, or just to have a few drinks while playing pool. I have been here plenty of times and have had good times here. The bar back that got off work drunk and the bearded door guy have no sense and categorized me as someone else bc the bar back got jelly somehow that the girl he wanted was talking to me at the bar. I wasn't there to pick anyone up but have a good time and his butt got hurt and told the bearded bouncer who was drunk, so they proceeded to throw me out for " hitting" on a girl that I had no interest in. I go to this bar fairly often, as it's right around the corner from where I work. The atmosphere is pretty casual and the staff are friendly. It's usually fairly crowded when I go on Fridays and Saturdays, but it's never too crowded to find a seat or anything like that. The prices seem comparable to most other bars in the area, and the TV's are usually playing sports if that's your thing. They have pool tables in the back, although I have never used them. I'm not sure what their official weekly schedule is, but I know sometimes they have live music, karaoke, and a DJ. Not really the place to go if you're looking for something fancy or upscale, but I like the atmosphere and will continue going here. read more

Great dive Bar. It's not the newest of places, and it's smoky(if your a non smoker like me), but the staff is always great. Make sure you check out bartenders Marty or Hope. Both amazing, always keeping your drinks full and great recommendations. The best way to describe the place don't expect a lot from the looks(it's a Neighborhood bar, not the Taj Mahal) but it makes up for all of that with heart. The place is really hopping after midnight every night(most people hit up other bars and close down at this one, since this bar closes at 2am every night).
