What a lovely gem hidden in downtown round rock! My friends and I have been coming here for the past two years and are friends with the owner! This place is family owned which I love about it! On game days they often serve chips or hot dogs along with amazing drinks! On Friday nights they have a DJ where everyone flocks to hear his Latin beats at 9pm but not me because I leave at 9 haha. The daughter of the owner is Kimmy and she is really fun and energetic! I gave it one more star because of her alone! Parking is sometimes an issue but where is it not when you got to downtown round rock?! Haha I will be back here in a few weeks! Be sure to try their cucumber drink or their Mexican candy shot! From the outside Coco's Lounge looks depressing. The decor is dark and totally old school. It is tucked away in a back corner. It looks like you could stage "Long Day's Journey into Night" there - A four act Eugene O'Neill tragedy that takes place in a loser bar. * * * First impressions are really wrong here. This is a fantastic fun place !!! * * * Everything I said about the decor is true - But then that description applies to dive bars all across Central Texas. What makes this place hum is the bartender. She is a Comet - a Meteor and an Absolute Force of Nature! I never got her name - but I spent all night watching her in action. What a superstar! She mews like a cat! She YOWLS like a cat - and that does not necessarily mean she is unhappy. She keeps a gong that she bangs at random intervals. There is a bell by the door that she can ring if she doesn't feel like going back to the gong. I think she designed most of the shots herself. (I was on a bourbon night - but I am dying of curiosity to try some of her shots.) Nearly everyone who can sits at the bar - and she chats up each and every person. She is in constant action and at any given nanosecond - she can be anywhere in the bar. Her mission in life is to be the hostess with the mostest. And she really IS the hostess with the mostest. I sat at a back table, drank my bourbon, watched TV and watched the bartender at work. Mellow, sleepy, pleasant stuff. The people in front were talking to each other and engaging with the bartender's rapid fire repartee. The barstools could be as mellow or as dynamite as a customer wanted them to be. its a chilled out vibe most of the time. We like the music selection 90% of the time and its why we go. Goal post closed, so we come over here now on the rare occasion we have a baby sitter aka my mom is in town visiting. drinks: eh. hit or miss, obviously depends on the bartender. You're not going to find an old fashioned here, and that's ok. Its more of a beer or whiskey and coke kind of place. And again, that's ok. Just know that before you go. dj on weekends after 9ish. sometimes there is popcorn. why? so you're thirsty and order more drinks! lol. like I said only have had one weird night where one guy was humping the floor and then tried to fight people who were laughing. I'm Irish-Mexican, but I act like a white guy. Some might call me a coconut. The DJing is excellent and they'll offer you food if there's a celebration. There's always a nice senorita to dance with there as well. Anyway, the only negative experience I had was one time after last call. One of the patrons offered me some "party favors" and that was a bit shocking. So, just watch who you talk to because there may be some bad hombres there. read more

We stumbled into this cool TexMex dive bar during our last field trip to Main St RR. Tejano and Cumbria music was pumping and the beer was cold. Friendly folks drinkin, dancin, and having a good ole time. There is a full bar with daily specials. The only critique is that this bar is small and the dance floor is smack dab in the middle of the bar area. They do have a small patio area out front that you could escape to if it gets too crazy inside. Coco's Lounge is a neato dive bar that is now in our Main St pub crawl rotation. read more

A cool comfy Mexican lounge dive bar with free food on Wednesday nights. They ain't got no taps but they got a good ass juke pumping out some good country and Tejano. I really digged the vibe in here. Everybody was super laid back and happy smiley peeps. The BT, Kimme (sp? owners daughter) was sweeter than peaches. We strolled in on Good Friday to find they had a free fish fry going on. Not the kind I'm used to, but, I reckon Texas style. It was catfish, puppies, taters, and, slaw. It was all free, so how can you complain? I'm really impressed that they do free food every Wednesday! This place really made me feel welcomed. No pressure. We loved Coco's. Regulars if you will and never had issues with 21 and up, especially if I'm a parent of a 20 yr old (Texas law right?). We came back for the millionth time and were turned away. The door checker if you will who always let us in said "NO! Not this time" rudely yelled at us and the female checking IDs. It's one thing to turn us away but if you're yelling and cursing at a female employee is another! Disappointed in the Latino race. The Mexican men who feel that its ok to talk down to females. As a Mexican woman, I'm ashamed and disappointed in how your establishment can talk down to the women of your race! But if you are looking for a good time with nicer service and staff, walk across the street to The Long Branch Saloon!! read more

Went here on Valentine's Night for the 1st time. The lovely bartender is super friendly, and outgoing. I told her about this drink called, The Black Panther," she asked how it was made, & without hesitation she mixed it up!!! She also thanked us for the new drink recipe! The service continued to be great the rest of the night! I liked how the music was played by a jukebox! Such a variety of songs, and lots of people signing along!!! I used to go here because of the friendly bartender and the family atmosphere but I will never go back again. I came in on a Thursday after work to have happy hour and the bartender wasn't there. There was a waiter who I don't even think could serve alcohol who was serving me and my friend shots that we had to google and tell her how to make. She literally did not know anything about serving alcohol.. another time I came with my brother and deaf friend and boyfriend and we were having a fun time (no drama) and were dancing along with all the other people on the floor. Apparently we got kicked out which I wasn't even aware of until the bartender who was confused looked at me and said she couldn't serve me anymore? I asked the owner why we were cut off and he said we are getting kicked out.. I asked what for and his response was because I stumbled... well ok drunk girls might be clumsy but all of the people with me were confused as to why we all got kicked out.
