I really would rate this 3.5 stars. It's a pretty cool place. Entertainment was great (band=Suede), food was good, drinks were good. Service was fair, at best. We were a table of 12, but that wasn't really the problem. One person who ordered, her food was given to someone else. When she inquired, she ordered again and it took over an hour to get her food. Her second beer never arrived. Unfortunately, she said this is the norm here. She comes here often, mainly for the entertainment. The server was quick to take our original orders, but follow up was zero. No attempts to get second drinks, any other food, nothing. It wasn't that busy, so I'm not sure why the service was so bad. I flagged him down for my second drink after waiting over an hour, and my friend was still waiting for her beer. It was like our table was in the ignore zone. I would come back again, but would probably order from the bar for drinks. 20% tip was included in the bill because of large party. I'm sure my friend was pissed about that considering her service was terrible. Mine was meh. Overall it was a great evening with friends. The good outweighed the bad, but don't expect great service. The concept of this establishment is pure genius but the execution of the overall operation is subpar. My family had the interaction screen for about 2 hours. Our waiter was nice, we called him the Spanish Fabio. He was sweet and he was attentive when it came to our food. The food is okay. Now as far as the service for the interactive activities, not a soul checked on us. There was literally one soccer ball for the whole experience and one family kept it for their whole stay even though they didn't play the soccer game for the whole time. We didn't have the option to play the shooting game. The sensors were off on the projector. They should really have someone managing the interactive screen area. After giving myself ample time to really think about my experience I've decided to write a review. A friend of mine booked her birthday party here- upon arrival I expected the event to be super fun. There was plenty of things to do within the building and I expected an amazing time. When I first sat at our table I was half way greeted by our host- initially I brushed this off due to it being pretty busy since it was dinner time and there were lots of other parties. When the server returned he asked for my drink order and since I'd never been to the facility. I didn't know what alcohol they provided and asked questions. Since I typically drink Crown Royal Apple I requested this and was very rudely told that they didn't have that - so I just asked for a shot of regular Crown. It took roughly 15 mins for this to come to the table, again this was no issue due to it being busy. When the server returned to the table I put in an appetizer order (which I will say was great), at this time we had it was explained to us that our bowling lane and table we're booked for the same time. Everyone was confused since it was told to us we'd have the dinner table first and then we'd go bowling, we (as a group) decided we'd bowl and then come back to the table to eat since no one wanted to go back and forth to wash their hands each time they wanted to eat. When we go to the bowling lane we all got shoes, and one of our guest had to buy socks since she had forgotten them- it took staff 5 minutes to even find a pair of socks for her to purchase. (I'd think if you're going to have a bowling alley you'd have plenty of socks on standby ?) once the guest got socks and we started our game we already had a 10 minute warning on the lane (we had only been in the facility for 20 mins at this point) , everyone in the party rolled once and then we were informed our time was up. We were originally told that we would have the lane for an hour but once the time had finished we were informed that it was reserved for only half an hour, again this could have just been a miscommunication on our part but would have been nice to have it reiterated to us when we had arrived. We asked since we had only been in the shoes for a few minutes would we still be required to pay the full price for shoes - which no one had an issue with but we wanted to know since we didn't use them for the full duration of time, the young employee working the station did inform us we would have to pay the full amount (which wasn't much and not a big deal), but did offer to ask a manager. She was very nice and did apologize for the miscommunication. However our server came down to where we were at, and was attempting to hurry and close all of our tickets (please note that most of us hadn't ordered food yet). We explained that we were still going back to the table and met with hostility about that, however since most of the party didn't even have drinks in we decided to stay. The server seemed upset that he still had a large party, and was very short with anyone who wanted to put in drink or food orders. We did notice that he was very happy and polite to other tables and it made it feel like since our party have people of color he didn't want to help us at all. I've worked several jobs in the service industry and can understand being overwhelmed but this felt like it was another server who didn't want to help us, the experience was unacceptable for a facility with such a pretty exterior. I'd advise all parties that include people of color to stay away. read more

What a fantastic addition to the cedar park area! My wife and I came in early on a Friday evening (with reservations for a bowling lane) and were surprised to see how empty it was. I'm guessing because of the early summer time, people are out traveling but I wasn't complaining. We probably didn't need to pay the reservation fee for the lane, but it was nice to know we didn't need to worry about it. The lanes are extremely clean and well functioning with plenty of balls to choose from. The table is a tad small to be shared between each lane if you are not with the people across from you, but wasn't a major issue. My biggest gripe about the bowling was the lack of service. During our hour there, the waiter came twice and then we had to wait after our time was up to close out since they were no where to be found. After bowling, we walked over to the bar for a drink and food. This was the real highlight of the night. Between Dylan at the bar (who was awesome) and the epic Braised Short Rib & Gnocchi dish, there were zero complaints. I would easily come back again for the pasta dish alone. read more

I will start this review with my only complaint: the noise level. It was incredibly loud when I went here and it wasn't very crowded but the music and the sound of the bowling balls falling were very loud. That aside, the service was great. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. I went with the short rib melt and truffle fries. OMG no exaggeration this melt surely goes on my top 10 sandwich list and let it be known I am a sandwich girly! The flavor of the short rib with the melty cheese and toasted bread crunch was amazing. From start to finish, our visit to Spare Birdie was fantastic! The customer service was exceptional, and our server Milo made the experience even better. Super friendly, attentive, and funny. We started with the spicy cheese curds. Crispy flavorful, actually have some good spice and paired a great dipping sauce. Everyone at the table loved them. For drinks our table had a Mai Tai, an Old-Fashioned, and one of their featured IPAs (wish I remembered the name but it was great!). Their drink menu is well-rounded with a good selection of local beers and thoughtfully crafted cocktails. As for entrees we had the Nashville Hot Chicken Sliders, Grilled Chicken Sandwich, the Big Macker Burger and the Jalapeño Bacon Jam Burger. Everything we ordered was delicious The ambiance is just as impressive. The place is immaculate and well-organized, with a modern but inviting vibe. I would say bowling was pretty fun, the lanes are shorter I think than regular ones (not that that helped me with my game). We ordered a lot of dishes to share, but none of them really stood out to me. The VR games are pretty old, but they are still enjoyable to play. This was my first time here, and I came for the Drag Brunch. The performers were amazing. The food and service was not. I ordered the grown up breakfast sandwich on a gluten free bun. I asked my server if the truffle aioli had garlic in it. She didn't know and didn't ask the kitchen. When my sandwich came out, the aioli was on the side and definitely had garlic in it. My egg was fully cooked. I expect a runny yolk on a sandwich. The other women with me also had eggs that were overcooked. I asked the server for some mayo. When she finally brought some, I had already finished my sandwich. The pork belly on the sandwich was also overcooked and dry. The dipper fries were well cooked, and I enjoyed them. My fourth visit. This time I went alone and sat at the bar for food/drinks and to socialize. My bartender was pleasant but not real friendly. She made a great Manhattan, though, and was fairly responsive. I ordered the shrimp toast, which was not my favorite. Too greasy and the sauce was rich too so it was just too much. My salmon dish was a whole other story! It was so well prepared, tasty, balanced and fresh. Gotta revisit for that. The other three times I've been at a table with friends. When I heard about the new place CP area, got excited and checked the reviews and was not fond of it, but still wanted to try as it's close to home, so me n a friend decided to stop by for HH. My friend made the reservation, but I think you should be fine without reservations either, as the place is huge. As soon I stepped in, I felt like Woww, place is huge, spacious, cozy, good vibes, loved the ambiance and the way it has been setup, there's a bowling and other stuff and that place has that sports bar vibe, and where me n my friend got seated, it was like a cozy nice place to sit and relax. Our server name is I think Ben, who was attentive, welcoming and friendly. We ordered Bruschetta, corn fritters, crispy cauliflower, fries, lemon cake. Drinks, Gold rush, and Tom Colin's. My friend got Tom Colin's and she liked it, I initially got Californian based on our server recommendation, but all I tasted was bitter orange juice, couldn't drink it after 2 sips, and I let my server know about it, and he replaced that with gold rush without hesitation, and I loved Gold rush, it was well balanced drink. Bruschetta was disappointing, goat cheese tasted funky, so took that off, and all I tasted was crushed raw tomatoes on bread, no flavor at all, I'd skip that. Corn fritter: if you don't know it's name, you won't know it's corn, I think they had crushed corn and added some spices to it, overall you don't taste corn at all, and it was made more like falafel, my friend liked it, but me just okay. Crispy cauliflower, this I loved it, it's crisp but not greasy, it's not heavy, it has nice spicy kick to it, and it made up for bruschetta and I can eat two plates of it, for my friend it was bit spicy though. Fries: we both loved it, it was just perfect. Lemon cake: I'd skip it, cake was dense and crumbly, and dint taste as freshly made either, they say raspberry sauce, but the sauce is so little you don't taste it, it needs more raspberry sauce to balance all the tangyness, they really should work on this. We felt it was pricey but quality of the food, ambience of the place, and you don't have to drive to domain or to downtown for a cool place to hangout make it worth the price, and we have plans to visit them for brunch. The food was awesome, but the gaming experience was HORRIBLE! I took my 6 yr old grandson to play and neither of us could make the games work! He had to stand back so far (4 ft) from the screen that he couldn't throw it hard enough to make contact. Even I tried and it was not registering. We searched for 5 minutes for a golf ball, only to eventually flag someone down who said we had to use a larger ball. Again, he couldn't hit it hard enough to register with the game. We tried all of them, even the shooting ones, and had a miserable experience. He asked to leave after 25 minutes. I paid $40 for an hour's play and we only stayed for half the time. The staff was indifferent. There should be a disclaimer that kids of a certain age and skill level are not suited to this experience. It's unfair to take my money when we couldn't play the games! Next time, I'll take him to Dave & Busters or Kalahari where he can actually enjoy himself. I don't mind paying for it, IF he can enjoy himself. read more

We stopped by on a lazy Sunday to check out this new fun house in the CP. We purposely waited past their grand opening as we know it would be a shakedown cruise until they got settled. The outside still needs some cosmetic work but the inside is stunning. There is a large well equipped bar plenty of seating and an outside patio with a small amphitheater set up. We are looking forward to hearing some live music on a nice evening. I'm not sure if the neighbors will appreciate the live music. As others have noted there are plenty of games (think a scaled-down version of Dave & Bs) to keep you occupied. We came for a cocktail and to check out the venue. Our bartender was excellent and our cocktails were poured to perfection. Since we had a late breakfast food was not an option. Our neighbors at the bar ordered a dozen of their $1 raw gulf oysters. I'm not a gulf oyster fan but the presentation was beautiful. Visualize a boat filled with ice (it was huge) with a dozen oysters wonderfully arranged with all the all accoutrements you would desire with your oysters. It was our first time and me and my husband had a wonderful time. We made a reservation for a virtual booth, but showed up early and got a table. We ordered the triple dip. The queso and spinach dip were delicious. It was happy hour so they had deals on the shareables and sliders. We got the Nashville hot chicken sliders and the bacon jam sliders. Both were so good! The food was good, but the craft cocktails listed on the menu were inconsistent and watered down. Virtual games are not worth the money to reserve a bay. They kept freezing up and the attendant was useless. We lost about 30 minutes of playtime due to the slow gaming system. We requested more equipment (only 2 firearms in our bay for a party of 4) and never received. Our server was great for the first half-hour. After that we had to flag down other waitstaff to find him. No one ever came to clear dirty dishes and drinkware while we were there. An attendant notified us that we had 10 minutes left of our 2-hour reservation (when in actuality it was 20 minutes). Our server never came after that to check on us or closeout our check. 40 minutes later I had to find another server to do that. That person told me they were so busy because they had to setup for live music that evening. That's just poor management. We were there to celebrate a birthday. I called the day before and requested a birthday dessert as a surprise. The person that answered the phone said it would not be a problem. We never received that either. Due to our server being MIA, by the time we got the check, we did not want the dessert anymore. If I ever go back, I will stick to dining at a table and ordering a beer. read more
