This place was really a good find. We stopped in for lunch my son ordered the brisket enchiladas and I had the shrimp salad. When you come in you order at the bar the bartender was really nice and friendly and answered any questions that we had. Then you take a table and wait for your food I think normally you're supposed to pick up your food at the counter but she wasn't very busy so she brought the food to our table. It's a bar like atmosphere but it's a family restaurant at the same time they have cute decor inside obviously Rabbit themed and they do have a really nice back yard outside area seating where they have music. Son got the enchiladas were delicious I did get a bite of them very good portion and the brisket inside was just so tender. My shrimp salad tasted like it had homemade dressing on it was very amazing I would say it would've been a perfect salad if it just had avocado on it. It just needed something. Food is good, service is friendly. However you have to order at the bar and then pick it up. It's the service fee on each item you order then the 18, 22 or 25% tip option that throws me off. It's not table service. They're ringing up your order and you pick it up and then buss your own table. Seems excessive to me! Beers, mixed drinks and ambiance good. Live music and outdoor seating. When we walked into the Lucky Rabbit, the place was full. It was Bingo night. My Lemon Hop drink was lemony and refreshing and hubby enjoyed his original frozen margarita. We had a grilled shrimp salad and a chicken Caesar salad and both were good. Sitting at the bar afforded us attention from all three of the bartenders - they certainly add to the friendliness of the place. The bathroom was large and clean but the sink is a red wagon outside the bathroom - a bit funky. Anyway, we loved this place and will be back next time we're in Jonestown! read more

We love the Rabbit especially when the weather is nice and we can hang on their spacious patio area. They offer a full bar with some great drink specials The Rabbit Rita and Skinny Wabbit cocktails are my favorite. Hubby likes his brown liquor and they have plenty of bourbons and ryes to choose from. What surprised us was their huge craft beer options. I swear they have over a dozen taps serving everything from Yuengling to Pint House Electric Jellyfish. You order you drinks and food at the bar. If you order food you will receive a text message when you pick up your goodies. Food? They got you covered with great Apps like fried pickles. Their burger Combos are awesome! The Border Burger is pretty spicy but oh so good. The Chicken Fried Chicken is lightly breaded and very moist. Watching you calories they have salad options too. They do have a good happy hour Mon - Fri 3-6 PM. Be sure to check out all the Texas themed music posters that adorn their walls. The Rabbit has a good sized inside bar area with tables and high tops. There is small upstairs area if you seek some privacy but there patio area is king here. There are plenty of places to sit and for the kiddos and dogs to run around. Be sure to check out the old school bus that they converted to a bar. There is a big screen TV outside (and some inside) to catch your game or to watch the musicians playing inside. On nit is that when they have full bands playing you need to be outside as it is excessively loud inside. read more

This is such a cool bar & restaurant! We went here to celebrate a birthday and they had lots to offer for everyone. The food was top notch. I got the Brisket Sammie and was blown away by the tenderness of the meat. The service was wonderful. The staff were kind and helpful, serving us with a smile on their faces. Oh Lucky Rabbit, I adore you! I came in a few weeks ago with Thing Two and my friend/relator. This spot is a local watering hole with live music and a patio with an old-school bar, plus burgers, fried chicken sandwiches, and beer. This joint serves up themed cocktails like the Bug's Old Fashioned; 24 Carrot Gold with vodka, triple sec, blood orange, lime, and bitters; the Bubble Bunny with gin, lavender, lemon, and prosecco; and frozen drinks like the Hot Hare, a spicy mango margarita with chamoy and Tajin. Lets get to it! Sloppy Beef Nachos For my friends who live outside the Lone Star state, it may not be well known that Queso is part of our major food group! Queso, meaning cheese in Spanish, typically refers to melted cheese dip appetizer. The dip, sometimes called chile con queso at restaurants, is a Mexican style dish made of melted cheese and chilis.These beef nachos are a bit cheesy, a little bit spicy, and a little bit sweet. This accredited mostly to the seasoned ground beef, refried black beans, American slices, pico (salty and tangy), pickled jalapeño (sweet and spicy) and green chili. As the name implies, these nachos must be eaten with a fork as they can't be scooped nor dipped because of the loaded toppings. Thing Two ordered this menu item and was pleased with the offering. Grilled Shrimp Salad One of my favorite salads to make and eat is shrimp salad (as evidenced by my many reviews around the states about the variations of this dish). The perfect shrimp can make the dish so tasty. Further this dish healthy, as it is actually quite satiating as it is high in protein and has plenty of fiber from all the vegetables and healthy fats in the avocado (I added this) and feta; this salad is a hearty one. The shrimp were grilled with the right amount of char which allowed the veggies to shine. Hot Chick Part of what makes Nashville-style hot chicken so unique (and why I absolutely love it) is that it's often brined in pickle juice. This infuses the chicken with a special kind of salty umami that makes it extra moist. Plus, the dill and garlic add an herbaceous pop that really brightens up the flavor. This dish also comes with Texas 'crack'! What that is, I am not sure but I will tell you, Yelp fam, that it keeps you coming back for more. This sandwich is not only hardy but filling. This place has some of the best bar food you will find around. Its not only representative of bar eats but also of Texas hospitality. A really solid venue for live music and food, especially for the area. The outdoor area is really nice and is constantly evolving making it a great spot when the weather is nice. I used to live their margaritas but they seemed to have changed the recipe and it's no longer my go to. The burgers are amazing and really most of the food too. One thing to note, I've been here on 3 separate occasions and seen someone fall outside at the step up by the outdoor bus. The last gentleman was taken away by an ambulance and I sure hope they make a change to this soon. read more

Second time here and it was just as special as the first. I am not normally one to order a burger at a restaurant but the plain Jane is perfect and my friend agreed after she tried it. The lucky rabbit is such a cute bar/restaurant with their live music and backyard seating. Feels so homey and very Texas. We came here for a school parents' function, and Lucky Rabbit turned out to be a great spot for it. It's a chill, laid-back place with good beers and solid burgers -- nothing fancy, but exactly what you want for a relaxed gathering. The best part is the space. This was our first time visiting the Lucky Rabbit. It was during the crazy rains and flooding about a month ago. During our visit the rain started flooding into the building. The staff was totally professional and was taking care of the customers, all while taking care of the flooding. The food and drinks were fantastic. The inside and outside had the best decor and vibe. The live music was great! We will be going back since we have our vacation spot close by! Good job lucky rabbit. I honestly thought my last review was my last, but, my wife Decided to stop and get some food for dinner... I would have found another place. My last review was not favorable but was a fair assessment of what happened. I'm sorry to say this review will not be favorable as well.... When I open my food box I was not happy to find a burnt hamburger bun on top and a soggy greased lower bun that fell apart when I picked it up. If you want a cold beer and some music on a Friday night it's the place to go But, in my opinion they lack any kind of quality control on their food... it's thrown together in a hap hazard manner and it shows... it's a shame and it's not like their giving it away.. this burger was $16. I was happy to see someone invest in the Jonestown community when they opened but if this is the best you can do I'm saddened... I'm just one opinion but I've heard others with similar complaints. When you've entered a marketplace with very limited dining.. be the best example you can be. After being contacted by Matt the owner which he mistakenly feels I have a vendetta against his business ( which I do not ) in fact I'm am very pleased he's doing so well... place looks like a goldmine and a benefit to the Jonestown economy. I was harsh on one of my reviews out of frustration more than anything else... he suggested that I tell them my concerns at the moment ... which I tried and got nowhere. I've been in the Rabbit quite a few times and I've noticed the busier it gets the more the food quality control suffers ... I'm just a customer, not the food police.. but when I'm paying the bill I believe I can have my opinion . Heck, I even said the place was great for a beer and music . Maybe it's just been dumb luck the last few times I've eaten there that it wasn't up to snuff... I'm not saying the whole place is bad.. My friends got the breakfast enchiladas which looked phenomenal and I also tried the hot honey biscuit. The hot honey biscuit was SOO good, perfectly sweet and salty. The lucky rabbit made my husband and I feel like the fortunate ones when we randomly decided to stop for lunch while driving through the area. There is plenty of parking to the sides and behind the building, featuring a periwinkle double door to welcome you. Inside, you will find a welcoming air of casual meets rock and roll. That's right, this is a music and karaoke venue! Do not be deceived by the modestly sized menu, because their food is delicious. I got their BBQ burger and fries with crack sauce (a must!), and my husband got their Shroomin burger. The portions are Texas-sized, so either split with a friend or bring your appetite. The inside dining room is polished wood tabletops with stools and chairs, offering purse hooks for the ladies. The stage is a good size, and the bathrooms are set up with a communal exterior sink. There is also a sizeable outdoor seating area where I spied darts being played. The walls are adorned with the company signage and a cool mix of realistic looking artist portraits, which are for sale. If this doesn't sell you, they also partner with Tito's and a local animal rescue to provide funds if you order a special drink. Came across this hidden gem after doing a hike in the Lago Vista area and couldn't have come at a moment sooner as there was live music just started kicking off for the day! Lucky Rabbit is part music venue part bar & restaurant and all the electric Texas flare you can ask for in a joint. You order food and drinks at the bar and I went with a beer & the hot chick sandwich with my partner grabbing the BLT special. After you order you can find plenty of seating right by stage as well as upstairs and outside seating. The upstairs area had a cool mural with some of Austin's best musicians which I found pretty cool. Could easily see how packed this place prob gets on weekend evenings as they had a full line up of local talent for the day. The overall ascetics stood out to me as well with vintage cars built into the decor. If you happen to find yourself in Jonestown stop in here as this place was the total package for me. P.
