Margarita is the best !!!!

the margarita is amazing !!!! not too sweet , I also highly recommend the lettuce wraps if your not in the mood for a burger

Street corn queso and chips

The interior was fun with the wallpaper and decor! There is also a covered patio out front. Service staff was friendly upon entrance. We were seated right away and drinks came out fast. They have a large drink menu to choose from and even offer frozen drinks! We ordered the street corn queso which was tasty. I then got the hot chicken sandwich with tots - the tots were very crispy which was great and the sandwich had good flavor. This would be a fun place to go with a group during the day! They also had several board games that you can take back to your table to play.

The Wagu smash burger

This was a nice little for me for us. We've never come this deep into Georgetown but I'm glad we did. The food and service was great. We really liked the hometown atmosphere. My wife had the chicken sandwich. I had the Wagu smash burger. They did not disappoint!

Great food and great place for dogs!

Good food, Great vibes, and I get to bring my dog! This place is perfect and service was pretty good.

Enjoying a smooth West Coast IPA on a Sunday afternoon !

Nobody knows how to make a proper margarita like Tristin and Davey . After a long day at work I come here to relax and enjoy the show!!

Like most places - they need to hire more wait staff. Ordered the burger of the month and it was delicious and the signature frozen coconut Rita - all great. No silverware, no napkins we had to ask and never received fork and knife. Fries are additional at 10.00 so why not make them special- truffle Parmesan or plain Parmesan a little pepper added, something to distinguish they are not from a fast food chain. Maybe we caught them on a bad night with staffing shortage. We watched 2 groups walk out after sitting down and no service - again 1 min always feels like 2 min in the service industry. I would give this place a try because the burger was excellent! The manager was working hard - delivering drinks, working in the kitchen prep I just hope you get to hire more people especially for a Saturday.

Georgetown Spike

Loved this new addition to Georgetown! Let's start with vibe - you can tell they worked really hard to get the vibe right in this bar. They have cute seating with umbrellas outside (so needed for the Texas summers) and an airy, eclectic style inside with quite a few TVs. My first thought is it might be a cool place to catch a game or two during football season. We ordered quite a few things since we wanted to try some of the dishes our server had recommended. The BBQ carrots - delicious! The bbq flavor was quite subtle compared to the dill flavor, but the combination was so good! The boar ribs were also very good. This was my boyfriends favorite dish of the night. The ribs were cooked so perfectly they slid right off the bone into a lettuce wrap. There were other toppings you could add into the wrap and the sauce was the highlight. I could eat these all day. The redfish and tater tots were good and it was a large portion, but I don't think I'd order them again. They were cooked really well, but personally too much fried for me to do again. Lastly, let's not forget about the drinks! My favorite was the Georgetown spike. Think pina colada with a subtle spice. It worked and I'd definitely order it again. Service was too notch too- the server had awesome recs and they cleared our plates away quickly with great attitudes. We'll be back!

I was excited to try this new spot in Georgetown! 2 of us wrapped up strolling thru Saturday Market Days and stopped in her for Linner. We sat at the bar and was greeted quickly. So many big screen TV's to watch all of the sports on! I see this being my new fave spot. I was sad to hear that they had not received their liquor license as of yet, so no adult beverages for us. They hope to have it soon and have great plans for the draft wall to include beer, wine and cocktails. Cannot wait for that. For an appetizer, we ordered the carrots and they were delicious! My friend and I split the grilled chicken sandwich and the red fish (their version of fish and chips). Both were delicious! I recommend! Overall, great experience. Friendly service, great food and cool-fun atmosphere! I will be back again and again. :)

The bf and I usually head out for a refreshment and dinner on Friday afternoons as a way to catch up on the week and unwind for the weekend. We chose to walk around the square and hit up District Six this week. The bar staff is friendly and approachable and let us try a few things before choosing our drink of choice. I went with the peach mint frozen cocktail made with real peach purée and he chose the Alstadt Kolch. We shared some street corn queso and green and red salsa. I have to say, the house fried chips are awesome! Perfectly salted and sturdy enough to scoop the delicious queso. The queso was creamy with whole kernels of corn, cotija, cilantro and full of flavor!! For dinner, I had the wild boar rib appetizer since I was pretty full of chips by that point. Kelly had the wagyu burger. Both were really good, using fresh, quality ingredients and not short on flavor. There are several large screens to watch sports and news and some old school arcade games. The large patio outside is perfectly pet friendly and kid friendly and the food is elevated bar food. I'll be back and I'm looking forward to it!

My burger.

Pretty good burgers! Great vibe. The outdoor seating area is nice especially with kids. Just go on a day when it's not sweltering outside.

It was the Fourth of July and mid-afternoon to boot - So they weren't as fully set up as they would be on a normal day. * * * CJ's is the food and drink operation of Mel's Bowling Alley. As a Bowling Alley, Mel's looks like it is first rate. The bowling alleys in Austin are fairly lame. This place had a million alleys, a large arcade, and some of the psychedelic ultraviolet-lit alleys that make modern bowling more interesting. As a place to throw strikes, spares and gutter balls, Mel's looks pretty good. * * * However the high quality of the bowling operation does not extend to the food operation. They have two primary bars/eating areas. It being the Fourth of July on "odd hours", one of the rooms was semi-closed. The room where they actually were serving customers was pretty gross. I went to sit at the bar, The bar at literally every single stool was filthy. There were old dishes that obviously had been sitting there for quite some time. Where there were no dishes, the bar was greasy with leftover food and spills. The tables were a little better but not by much. The bartender really didn't seem to care. She was chatting with a staffer. After the staffer left, she was just hanging out. * * * If a food establishment can not be counted on to clean the public areas, How can you be sure the kitchen is not filthy as well? I was out of there, to do my eating and drinking elsewhere. * * * If you go to Mel's to bowl, Check out the food areas before you order any food from your bowling lane. If they are as dirty then as they were on the day I visited, Finish your bowling and go to a more reliable place for your snacks.

Lunch special - 2 of 3 - select beers, slice of cheese or pepperoni pizza or house or Caesar salad. Also happy hour special was $1 off select items. Bartender initially took our order but then shift changed and another person took over. She was covering tables in another area. Salad and pizza delivered at the same time. Pizza slice was NY style - very thin and cold be folded up to eat vs knife and fork. Decent amount of pepperoni which was tasty. I prefer a crispy pizza crust so found this awkward to eat. Knife and fork provided. House Salad was just ok. Black olives, mushrooms, cucumbers, shredded mozzarella and croutons clustered on top and lettuce underneath. Salads obviously premade. Mushrooms were dried out and slices of cucumbers had shriveled edges. Greek salad looked better with fresher ingredients but wasn't included in the lunch special. There was more variety in the overall menu but didn't have time for a lengthy lunch stop. Second server worked with prices and lunch special offerings with us. Beer was $7-10 per pint glass so lunch special at $10.99 w select beers is a good deal. Not a priority to go back between parking hassle and food was just ok.

There are a number of large screen TVs throughout. You can also play shuffleboard here. The menu comes down to pub grub, but they have many sandwiches and pizzas to choose from as well as hot dogs and burgers. We'd like to have seen more in the way of apps and sides to order, though. Spinach pizza, recommended by our first waitress who also tends bar, was out of this world. Easily in the top 5 pizzas I've had lifetime. Thin crust was cooked perfectly and packed with fresh spinach, olives, and red onions. Our Mexican martinis were generous and spot on. As the game went into the second half we ordered a side of plain fries, which, while inexpensive, were a bit burnt and merely an adequate serving. We should have ordered two servings to share but found it harder than expected to pin our waiter down on the size of a single order. Another quibble was the service. Initially, our bartender took care of everything and she was outstanding. She handed off to a younger male server who was fairly inattentive unless we gestured for him. Then again, other patrons were ordering more drinks by the single rather than a round, so it was a busy day. They and their sister restaurant Mulligan's both charge a service fee for credit cards, so be ready for that nick. But, all in all, I could not have envisioned a better experience for what we had in mind. Definitely a keeper that has a good blend between restaurant and bar atmosphere. Highly recommended! P.S. You might think the place has something to do with baseball given the slightly off name but it appears to be about a beloved dog. There are also some clear ties to the Iowa State Cyclones visible on the walls.
