Shrimp and Grits
Theresa F.

We had a party of 25 after football and everything was great. Fast friendly service, food was phenomenal, and lots of room for kiddos to run. The chicken tenders looked amazing, so I may get those next time, but my shrimp and grits were soooo tasty. My husband had the green chile Philly cheesesteak and he ate every bite and said it was fantastic. We will definitely be back.

Hillbilly Bar

My kids and I stopped here for lunch today and had a wonderful time! We were seated right away and had a great table in the shade where I could watch the kids play until it was time to eat. Our server Brenden was cheerful and had great recommendations from the menu. The food came out super fast. I had the grilled chicken and my boys ordered a steakhouse burger and a turkey sandwich. We decided to get something for dessert too--a hillbilly bar. It was absolutely delicious. We all enjoyed our meals and had to bring food home for my husband as well. His chicken fried steak was fantastic! We are definitely coming back!

My cousin and I were in the area from out of state and went to Dahlia Cafe based on the good Yelp reviews. We were not disappointed! There is ample parking, we were warmly greeted and seated by Merrill (sp?) and then greeted shortly after by our waiter. The place was busy, which is a good sign when trying a new place. The ambiance is nice and homey and clean. I ordered true comfort food, "Mother-in-Law's meatloaf" and cousin ordered steak. I thought my entire meal was delicious, good sized portions, and reasonably priced. My cousin enjoyed her steak for the most part. For dessert, she ordered the carrot cake, which was huge and looked moist and delicious. I was full but ordered the "Ohmygooodness" pie to go. I highly recommend anyone in the Liberty Hill area to go to Dahlia Cafe for great comfort food that is delicious and reasonably priced, and the staff are hospitable!

We've been to Dahlia Cafe three times now, and each time we've been served by the awesome Brenden and have had such wholesome interactions with Mirel. From the moment we walk in, the service is always welcoming, warm, and professional. All of the hosts are well-trained and on point. Mirel has wonderful interpersonal skills and is genuinely so kind. He creates such a warm and inviting environment and makes you feel right at home. Brenden has also consistently been kind and professional, and his service is always quick, attentive, and intuitive. Also, both very hard workers! We love this spot. It honestly reminds us of Luke's Cafe from Gilmore Girls--that cozy, small-town charm with good quality food and homey feels. Between the excellent service, welcoming atmosphere, and consistently delicious, quality food, Dahlia Cafe never disappoints. We'll definitely keep coming back!

Porks chops and grilled salmon penne pasta
Mike W.

I had a Caesar salad and grilled pork chops as entree. Sauteed spinach and fried okra for sides. My dining partner tried Penne pasta with blackened salmon. Two thumbs up for great comfort food! All of it was enjoyable and provided leftovers for the next day ... Would definitely recommend for a quick, home-made dining experience.

Kids burger

Stopped by for lunch on a weekend after a long road trip. Tons of seating, though it seemed to be mostly (if not all) outdoors. Big play area in the open for kids, though hard to keep an eye on them from the table depending where you're seated, and fairly easy for them to escape to the parking lot if you're not looking. Service was decent, but the food was nothing special and WAY heavy-handed with the salt. Best if you're looking for a local alternative to a Cracker Barrel-type place (with worse biscuits).

One of the best restaurants in Texas! Amazing chicken fried chicken (steak), burgers, salads and sandwiches. I always take out of towners here.

The food is amazing and the staff is very friendly. We were here for a Sunday brunch. They have ample seating both indoor and outdoors. The pies are amazing. I wish they'd more beers on tap. Everything was very well made especially the sautéed spinach! Highly recommend!

Ask the Community - Dahlia Cafe

Are service animals allowed as stated in state or federal law? Any other limitation for them?

Clearly NO. I went there this am thinking we could enjoy a nice meal out on the patio or just under the trees. No one was out there. NO ONE. I was told that they didn’t have the license to allow people to bring dogs and eat outside and refused…

How wheel chair friendly is the patio area?

We have a ramp that you access to gain entry and from that entry area the floor is the same level for inside, covered deck, and patio dining. Wheel chairs are utilized in all three areas.

It's more than 2 years now since breakfast was stopped. With Texas being 100% open for quite some time now, when will breakfast service start again? Miss it!!!

Unfortunately, we do not have the staff to be able to serve breakfast.

Is it pet friendly?

Unfortunately, we are not permitted for pets.

When does the music start on Thursday?

I am very sorry but we only have live music on Fridays and Saturdays from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

When is Dahlia's going to open for breakfast again!?

I am sorry for the inconvenience, but I honestly do not know. I will reconsider breakfast when the State of Texas allows for 100% unrestricted utilization of our dining spaces.

Will you be open this Saturday 12/22?

I would assume so! Definitively call the restaurant to check.

Will you be open thanksgiving with traditional dinner?

I am sorry but we will be closed Thanksgiving day, Friday and Saturday next week.

Every time we come in, CJ remembers us, treats us like family, and makes sure everything is perfect. The energy, the kindness, and the attention to detail never go unnoticed. This is Vietnamese-Cajun surf and turf with a menu that feels a mile long. Traditional Southern coastal fare sits right alongside burgers, New England clam chowder, and even tacos. I did give my Yelp buddy a heads-up that he was driving through traffic to dine at what I'd call a three-star establishment. Well, I warned him... I started with the fried calamari, which was chewy. The sauce that came with it was fine, but nothing memorable. I also ignored my inner voice telling me to stay away from the fried oysters. They were cooked well, but they did not sit well with me. I usually shy away from Gulf of Mexico oysters, though I will occasionally partake when they are fried, BBQ'd, or broiled. Sidebar: Drago's in Metairie, LA still has the best BBQ oysters. I know folks love CR, and it clearly has a loyal following, but I'm tapping out.

The food is always incredible, but what truly sets this place apart is the people. Kylie, Nathan, Maddie, and so many others on the team consistently go above and beyond to make us feel welcomed, cared for, and genuinely valued. Their kindness never feels forced -- it's just who they are. One moment that really stayed with me was when I brought my young niece, who has several allergies and can also be a bit picky with food. The chef personally came out to our table to ask thoughtful questions, understand her allergies better, and make sure she felt safe and comfortable eating there. That level of care meant so much to our family. Now that I'm pregnant, the staff continues to be just as attentive, accommodating, and thoughtful. They always make sure I'm comfortable and taken care of, and it honestly feels like visiting friends every time we walk through the door. Restaurants with great food are everywhere. Restaurants with genuinely wonderful people are rare. Jack Allen's is one of those rare places, and we're incredibly grateful for the amazing team there.

We started off with the queso and guacamole. They queso was delicious and while the guacamole was fresh it needed some salt. For my meal I got the special which was the bacon wrapped meatloaf. It was flavorful and cooked correctly. My only recommendation would have been to give some more sauce for the meatloaf. My husband got the fried pork chop and said it was cooked perfectly and that the gravy was delicious. Overall, an enjoyable meal and we would return.
