I was warmly greeted by Rachel as soon as I walked in, she introduced herself, asked my name, connected me with our group, and took my drink order right away (I went with water today). I'd checked out the menu on Yelp beforehand and decided on something from the LITE menu, the side salad with honey mustard and tortilla soup. Both were excellent, and for $10 it was a great value. What really stood out was the true neighborhood vibe, you could tell everyone knew each other, from customers to staff. It made the whole experience feel welcoming and easy. My son and I visited for the first time, but not the last time. The service was great, the food was fresh and delicious, and the ambiance is a relaxing make you feel at home atmosphere. I had an incredible Bloody Mary that could serve as both a drink and a meal !! LOL !! We enjoyed a variety platter appetizer with brussels, pretzel sticks with beer cheese, and onion rings, all were delicious. My son had the tavern burger with fries and I had the fried shrimp. Stopped in this establishment when visiting family in Liberty Hill. Super friendly service that makes you feel at home. Great food, good prices and large portions! I was pleasantly surprised with the selection of food available on the menu. They were serving Sunday brunch and I ordered the Avocado Toast Duo. There was much more to the dish than just avocados on toast. One toast was piled with avocado, smoked salmon, spinach, capers, onion and tomatoes. The other toast was topped with avocado, cucumber, tomatoes, and balsamic. Served on a large platter with eggs to order. Amazing and delicious! I wish I lived closer to Liberty Hill! read more

We went today because of the coupon and had a wonderful meal. Staff were super pleasant. Food was amazing. It was fresh, plentiful and tasty. She had grilled porkchops, potatoes and green beans. Thanks to Google Maps, I found this place! My friends want to meet there, and looked up address, but Google told me to "go OVER" railroad tracks...don't do that...stop before and turn into parking area next to builing (You can park on either side, but entrance in side next to railroad tracks). As previously said on there, there is not any signage, and would be hard to find without app. We met our friends mid afternoon last Saturday. It was not that busy, just a few tables in bar and main area. Kind of chilly to sit outside, but there a few out there, think because of the kid play area. Our waitress was nice and got us our drinks right away. We placed our orders...and waited...and waited...took awhile for our waitress checked on us. One of our friends waived her down, so we could get more drinks, and to check on our order, as it now been over 30 minutes. A table next to us, ordered and got, I think apps within like 10 minutes. She came back, and said it would be up shortly. It was like another 10-15 minutes before we got our food. My husband got the brisket sandwich with chili, and I tasted both. Chili was not that good. It was very thin, and not much flavor. The brisket looked like long thick back and folded upon itself on the bun. I took a piece off and tasted like a porkbelly cut. My husband said the sandwich was dry. My friend and I both go the "chopped steak" with mushroom and onion gravy. On menu it said it was made of "Kobe beef". He got his "medium rare" and I asked for "medium". He got his gravy on the side. His two sides, he liked, which were the brussel sprouts and mac and cheese. His "chopped steak", lets just call it a "burger patty" was really rare, and mine on other hand was OVER cooked, like "well-done". Glad I had gravy on top of mine. He did not use much of his side gravy, so I poured it on my "mashed potatoes", which looked like it was scooped out with an ice cream scooper and was very GREY in color, and stiff..not much moisture. Then, I had the Ceasar salad as other side, and half was unedible, as the romaine was half brown, and not much dressing, so I did not finish it. Ourt waitress did not come back and check on us afterwards. Again, we had to waive her down to get our checks. I was glad to meet up with friends, but would probably not return. I was looking forward to coming here, but I couldn't be more wrong. I walked in and no one gave us a table, so I took my own. Even the bartender could have mentioned to take a seat, but she was enjoying the tv with others at them bar. The service was awful. The seats cushions were ripped. I was given a menu which arrived quickly and ordered a bear. It took over 15 minutes for my disappointing appetizer which was not with the the $17. We have this place a try this evening. Wasn't too busy on Saturday night. We were seated right away. It was a bit cramped in the dining room, a few folks had to scoot for us to be seated. Our waitress was great and took our drink order right away. We order Queso and chips, the bacon chicken ranch sandwich and tavern BLT with fries. The food was good, and we didn't wait too long. It did get a little loud with people at the bar watching sports. There was an odd moment where someone from the kitchen came out and was yelling across the restaurant at the hostess calling her sweetheart and trying to get her to come to the kitchen. It was weird and uncomfortable. He also yelled at some guy, just awkward. We will visit again, and try more dishes. read more

We stopped in for an afternoon beer right at happy hour start. We've been living in the area for over a year and have driven past this place a number of times. Finally stopped in and we were not really disappointed. The vibe is very cool; laid back with country music playing on the speakers. Option to join in on a nationwide trivia contest on the TVs (which I did) and the servers were friendly, welcoming, and quick to serve. We asked for tastes of s couple beers we hadn't had before, and after selecting, we were served ice cold tap beers. We also ordered a shared plate of pot stickers. They would have been better if they had been steamed, then browned (as pot stickers should be) but these appeared to be deep fried (not good). They were served with 2 sauces, (neither represented the standard soy & chopped chive sauce) but it was ok at best. Bottom line is this - we will go back to try the weekend brunch or dinner, but the beer was cold, the staff was friendly, and the vibe was great. Food was awful. My mashed potatoes were cold. Not room-temperature or just not hot, they were out of the refrigerator cold, meaning they were left over and not prepared fresh. I assume they put them on the plate and forgot to microwave them. My chicken fried steak was somehow burned and hard inside while the breading on the outside looked perfectly fine. The only reason I knew the kids running around the restaurant and the adults drinking with their friends were the owners was because I asked if the owners were there because the chaos of kids running around right by my table was unacceptable. I was told that was the owners kids and the owner was with those adults. At that point I let the server know I would never recommend this place and would not be back. She was working hard while the owners turned a blind eye to what was going on. I saw many people in the restaurant complaining but the server clearly couldn't do anything about it because her boss clearly didn't care. A complete waste of money and time. Mashed potatoes were not hot, and seemed a bit dry, but they tasted like real mashed potatoes (not instant). Mac n cheese was about the same. Flavor was good, but it was very, very dry. This isnt the first time weve gotten really dry food. I took some chili home once because i like the flavot but it was too dry to eat, so I rehyradyed it from home. Crispy Brussel sprouts were the highlight of the evening paired with a bite of the salmon. I think think place could do great things if they got a bit more organized. The food is good. Brunch and the burgers have been my favorite. The location is good, with plenty of outdoor space and a playground for the kids. It's LH, so the playgrounds are typically hodgepodge insurance nightmares, but nonetheless, it's a place they can play. There is a great beer selection as well The reason for the two stars is the price. Regardless of whether it's all farm-to-table, it's overpriced to us. Went here and checked out the new menu. Must say I'm impressed. The new items really seemed to hit the spot. Check out the Tavern Club. Absolutely amazing, lightly toasted and amazingly flavored. Another good item is gonna be the adult grilled cheese. Little pepper jack in there for some spice. I started ordering it with a hamburger patty in the middle and it takes it up a notch. I really like the concept of this place, and it has such great potential, but they fall very short in the food category. Cool vibe, place is decorated well, but something is missing. Service was pretty good, but I know when the kitchen messes up it makes things hard. Wife and I ordered burgers, hers was basically raw (she asked for well done), and my burger was pretty under cooked for medium well. Manager came out and had the kitchen remake the burger, but we had to take the food to go at that point. As a lot of other reviewers have stated, the food that comes out just isn't consistent or it lacks flavor. They probably need to get a new chef, or revamp the kitchen.
