When I'm down and out, I head over to the bar side of Wildfire. This time, there was a different waitress/bartender. She was GREAT! She was very attentive and kind! Thank you! Usually, I get the chicken and dumplings. I was celebrating getting a new job so, I got the ribeye. I ordered it medium rare. Unfortunately, the cut wasn't good. It was thin and had thick gristle, throughout. I assumed that I would need salt. I asked for flakey salt. The sweet waitress/bartender, brought me kosher salt in a nice container. The salt helped! However, the steak was too far gone to help. It was closer to medium and, again, the cut was bad. (Note: I didn't complain! I'm sure that if I would have, they would have done anything to correct it!) The positives? The green beans were AMAZING! Still a bit crispy and tasted great! The mashed potato's were good. I ordered an Old Fashioned. It was wonderful! The service couldn't have been better! I love the bar side of Wildfire! The seating can be private or meant for people watching. It's very comfortable! All in all, this is the place to go! The service is always amazing! I didn't enjoy the ribeye but, I'm a steak snob. Wildfire will always be my "go to" spot! Had dinner for my wife's birthday this evening. Really excellent service, delicious food at a reasonable price considering the meal we were served. Started with hot Applewood Bacon Spinach Salad. My wife had the bacon wrapped filet mignon with crispy potato wedges and Prosecco. I had the Elk tenderloin with lumpy mashed potatoes (my favorite) and asparagus paired with Woodford Reserve. Really outstanding. The elk was medium rare and was perfect. Our waitress brought us a generous slice of NY cheesecake on the house. Often go out for a special occasion and come away disappointed. Based on two guest dinner experiences here, this is the best restaurant on the square in Georgetown. It's situated just a door down from the Palace Theater, so it's close to both the arts and other nightlife in Georgetown. Curbside parking is easy to come by. Wildfire features a sharp urban contemporary menu with Texas and Southwestern roots. Positive and friendly staff abound. Expect well-paced and complete service you'd expect from an upscale dining experience. Both of my meals were steak-based, both served with their zhuzhed-up mashed potatoes and my personal favorite, the Texas Pecan Green Beans. The 10oz NY Strip Pepper Steaks were both perfectly seasoned and cooked. If there is a nitpick, it's that there was a bit more untrimmed fat on the second steak than I would prefer making the portion size appear more ample--but that's luck of the draw. The desserts--especially the decadently rich Flourless Chocolate Tort--are to die for. It's a bit pricey, and you can easily run up a $25-40 dinner tab per person, excluding drinks, salad, and dessert. But unlike many places at the similar price points, Wildfire delivers on their promise of an exquisite meal. It's definitely THE DESTINATION restaurant on the Georgetown Square. read more

The only thing I would change is adding hidden sound boards to tone down the noise a little bit because it can't be rather noisy however an excellent experience nonetheless. I was super excited to eat here after hearing about it for so long! My wonderful husband made us reservations and we finally came! Sadly the experience did not live up to the hype for us. The ambiance was cool, it had a modern rustic vibe. The food was the problem. We started with the maple glazed crackling pork belly. It sounded wonderful to us and we even added an extra piece so we did not have to decided who got the last piece. It was not a problem since they were so tough and inedible. Our server did not check on us until after we finished it and we felt too bad to say anything. We moved on and ordered wine and steak. The ribeye was what I was told to order along with the blueberry bread pudding which they do not have right now. I would give this place a 2.5 out of 5 stars. A friend and I visited Wildfire on a recent Monday for lunch. The restaurant was not at all busy, something I found surprising given its great atmosphere and reasonable lunch menu pricing. Service was very good. There are several dining spaces in the restaurant. We were seated immediately in the room facing the front of the building. Drink orders were quickly taken and delivered, warm rolls followed, and food didn't take long to arrive. The menu is quite large, with plenty of meat, seafood, salads, and vegetarian selections. In some cases, there are 2 prices... which reflect different portion sizes (for example, 2 vs 3 enchiladas). We both had the sweet pepper sour cream chicken enchiladas. Unfortunately, the tortillas and the chicken within were hard and difficult to cut. The sides of refried beans and rice were flavorful, and the dish was beautifully presented. This was my first visit to Wildfire, so I'll give it another try for lunch... but will order something different. There were many delicious-sounding choices. read more

We had a wonderful anniversary dinner! From the dinner rolls (so pillowy and fresh) they brought out at the beginning to dessert, we very much enjoyed everything we ordered. The southwest Caesar salad was fresh and the dressing was on point. The ribeye my husband got was cooked perfect. This is hit or miss at some restaurants and they got it perfect. The flame kissed chicken breast was good. Too many mushrooms and veggies for my liking, but I still enjoyed it. The garlic bread they serve with it was so flavorful and crunchy. Fabulous Friday night dinner in the bar area. Beautiful interior reminds me of Lonesome Dove in Fort Worth. We opted for the smoked teal quesadillas appetizer and two of the top mains: the veal loin chop piccata and the cast iron skillet chicken fried NY strip. Each dish was a standout. the veal piccata was tender, flavorful, and not too heavy while the chicken fried steak was enough for two and definitely ticked all the boxes for CFS fans. The sleeper hit, though, was the plate of quesadillas. It sounds so average but using duck really made the dish a standout and along with the cocktails, created an excitement for the meal to come. Wildfire is a very nice little restaurant on the Square in downtown Georgetown. Today, the Wednesday Lunch Bunch give it a try. It has the feel of a restaurant that's been around for a while. The menu is extensive and made me want to try everything. Nevertheless, I controlled myself and ordered One of my favorites, which is chicken fried steak. Good chicken fried steaks are hard to come by. Often the cut of meat is very low quality and run through a tenderizer. At Wildfire, it is a very tender New York strip in a perfectly executed breading. My meal came with green beans and mashed potatoes and gravy. I would rate it the best chicken fried steak I've ever tasted. My companion ordered the chicken fried chicken, which was also delicious. My other two companions, both ordered hamburgers, which were just OK.. Service was excellent. Highly recommended! read more

I have wanted to try the prime rib at Wildfire for years! We chose tonight to prepare for the National Championship football game. I had French Onion soup. It's my favorite soup and they always do it great. Wife had the maple glazed pork belly. It was excellent and the syrup with the greens was the best way to savor it. The loaded baked potato was perfectly baked. The prime rib medium rare was outstanding. The butter sautéed asparagus had a great salty flavor that was perfection. My wife loves the green beans and swears they are the best green beans in central Texas. I agree they are darn good. We have been to Wildfire several times over the last 20 years and the one thing is consistent, excellence! Service, beverages, food is always excellent. Restaurants on the square in Georgetown have come and go but Wildfire has always been there. You can't go wrong with anything there. It's the gem of Georgetown! read more

Wow! Just wow... living in Gtown for the past three years and this was our first foray into WowFire!! Celebrating a birthday, on a Monday... yeah I know, a Monday.. made reservations and walked into the bar. What a cool looking classic bar.. dark wood , immaculately clean , great employees and the best , fantastic drinks while we waited for our table. We hoped for a booth but sitting at a table was good too.. Our server was outstanding, water was delivered promptly . The menu was great, lots of options. The table bread that was delivered was some of the best I've ever had. Our table ordered the Prime rib (Monday special) the rib eye and pork chop. My pork chop was absolutely perfect! With a side of the best collard greens I've ever had!! Wow... so tender and full of flavor! The wood fired corn was also fantastic. The ribeye was devoured and the prime rib slice was thick , tender and delicious. The wood smoke on the meats was not overwhelming but made them taste even better . We were brought a complimentary piece of delicious cheesecake for my birthday. I can't wait to come back ! I almost forgot, I ordered a Senior Sucio Mexican martini.. Shocking to see such a small IG profile for a place this good....The joint has a very old time feel, very clean and very professional atmosphere. We started with Chips, Queso and Salsa....Queso was spot for not being a Mexican Joint...Also had a cup of Chicken Tortilla...again delicious...Wife went with the Chicken Fried Steak, super tender, great gravy and the loaded Mashers were perfect. Wowza. Amazing ambiance, flavors and drinks. This place is almost hidden in plain sight right on the square but don't sleep on this one. Wife and I went for a date night after we were given a gift certificate and it didn't disappoint! Shannon immediately greeted us, had our drinks and bread out so fast and gave great recommendations. I got the chicken fried NY strip, incredible. My wife got the bacon wrapped chicken cordon bleu. Our plates probably weighed 5 pounds each, we both finished everything and now we're just lounging trying to figure out if we've ever been so full in our lives. We'll be back soon! read more

I just don't get why people think this is so good. Bar area? Pretty nice; seems comfortable but I can't rate the service since we didn't sit there. Vestibule while waiting for a table? There isn't one. You're sandwiched between the bar entrance, kitchen entrance and the hall to the loo. Thanks. Such ambience. Then the hostess deigns to seat you: with a table set 24" from your neighbor on either side. Want to have a convo here? Be prepared to shout and watch the people to your left and right eat with their ball caps on and their mouths open. Fine dining? Jesus, they have more manners in Odessa. You do know what fine dining is, right, Wildfire? Here's a tip: it doesn't involve men wearing ball caps in the dining room. Server? He will whisper to you just because it's fun to toy with you since there's so much ambient noise. And he will never - ever - check to see if things are okay once you are served (he won't serve you btw; this is one of those pretentious places where serves 'take orders' and runners serve you.) But let's talk about the food. At a steakhouse. Quality of meat? C. Maybe C-. Cooked to order? No where close. My " rare" was a "medium rare" at best. Why screw up a steak like that? Sides? Play-Doh like consistency and flavor although thankfully just a teaspoon of each to make your plate look pretty. You're not supposed to eat them. Cost? Around $100 for two with dinner and one drink. As fine steakhouses go, not bad. But no one will ever confuse Wildfire with a fine steakhouse. Total grade? D-. I wouldn't eat here again if you were paying for it. I took my parents to Wildfire to celebrate my dad's birthday and had a great experience! The service was good overall, the food was tasty, and the pricing was reasonable for the portion sizes you receive. I'd come back if I were in the area and wanted a nicer dinner. FAST FACTS: * Parking - Free street parking nearby but can be hit or miss depending on the day and time... you should be able to find something a block or two away though * Reservations - Yes but you have to call the restaurant (I wish there was a way to reserve online) * Online ordering - No * Open for brunch on Sundays and lunch and dinner daily SERVICE - The check in process for our reservation was a little clunky but we got seated on time. Our server was a little soft spoken and hard to hear at times, but he took great care of us and was very pleasant! The food came out quickly after ordering and our server checked on us frequently to make sure we had what we needed. PRICING - The total was $153.81 after tax but before tip for a bowl of hickory shrimp corn chowder ($9), 3 small red oak nopales garden salads ($5 each), 3 10 oz ribeye steaks ($24 each), oak fired elk tenderloin ($35), and a glass of wine ($12) . I think the pricing was reasonable considering the portion sizes and quality of ingredients! Complimentary rolls are served shortly after you sit down... they were tasty! HICKORY SHRIMP CORN CHOWDER (5/10) - The overall flavor of the corn chowder was delicious but the shrimp were very overcooked. I wouldn't order this again. SMALL RED OAK NOPALES GARDEN SALAD (7/10) - It's a pretty typical side salad which is perfect as a starter or a side. The base of the salad is a mix of greens and it's topped with some shredded carrot, red onion, tomatoes, cucumbers, and a choice of dressing. I'd order this again. 10 OZ RIBEYE STEAK (8/10) - This was a great steak and seemed bigger than 10 oz (no complaints). Each steak was cooked as requested. You get a potato on the side which you can get fully loaded with butter, sour cream, cheese, bacon, and green onions... it's plenty to fill you up! I'd order this again! OAK FIRED ELK TENDERLOIN (9/10) - I loved this dish! I got the elk cooked rare and it was perfectly tender, juicy, and packed with flavor! The blackberry port reduction wasn't overly noticeable but the tomato chutney on the side was AMAZING! The mashed potatoes were also delicious and there was a good size serving of asparagus. I'd order this again! 3 ALARM BLACKOUT CAKE (9/10) - This was a complimentary dessert since we were celebrating a birthday... and WOW! It was absolutely delicious! The pictures speak for itself... it's the perfect size to split with someone else (although eating it on your own is also acceptable because it's that good). My calamari, seafood Alfredo and peach cobbler were each delicious. Unfortunately the dining room was crowded and loud, partly because people were yelling over the music playing in the background. The location is great to sit in window and people watch or sit outsdie and enjoy whatever may be going on nearby so the music seemed to be an unnecessary element and really just got muffled in the midst of diners enjoying great food, conversations with their fellow diners and a nice establishment. read more

The ambiance was excellent. Cozy and layout was comfortable. Was recommended by a friend. It was a bit upsetting that my husband and I watched the other waiters join in conversation with their guests. Service was excellent to those guests. However the waiter we had only acknowledged me and didn't speak at all to my husband. Not sure why this was. Really made me uncomfortable as my husband was paying! I ordered the spice pancakes and he ordered a burger. The waiter checked on us 3 times during the hour and half we were there. I didn't even let him know that one of my pancakes was burned however the other two were delicious! The burger and fries were so good as well as I tasted my husbands burger. It would have been a great experience however the waiter was not friendly nor did we feel like he wanted to serve us. My friend and I were looking forward to brunch after church and decided to hit up Wildfire. We mulled over the menu for over 15 minutes because we just couldn't decide what we wanted. I ended up getting the Eggs Oscar and it was decent. The salmon was not the freshest and it wasn't even a complete filet of fish but it was edible. The complimentary white chocolate cranberry scones were delicious with coffee. The house potatoes were the best part but I only received around five pieces. I got a complementary biscuit and it was delicious with the butter they had and the blackberry jam. I tried the blueberry sausage and it was interestingly smoky. The bacon was perfectly cooked. The crowd was old and white which made the atmosphere a little antiquated. The bathroom did not have soap in it. However, what saved this experience was our amazing server Lauren. Not only was she great at checking on us and being patient with us but she also was hilarious and thoughtful. I would be back for dinner service! read more

My Husband and I went to Wildfire for Valentines day and it was our second time there. He got the seafood pasta which he is obsessed with and i got a steak again even though i didnt like it the first time i thought maybe it was just a one time thing. Do not get the Filet, they completely char the outside even when you order it medium or medium rare, it seems they just cook it on way too high of heat probably trying to rush the cooking process. bleh it just tasted like ash and it was a $50 steak. Not to mention when we got there they tried to sit us at a completely dirty table with food all over the seats until my husband asked for us to move. I went here on a Wednesday around 11 am and was immediately seated. Our server took a bit of time to get our drinks, but she was very sweet. It was a bit busy and it did take a while for the server to get our order. I ordered calamari and it was delicious. I do wish that the serving was bigger. I was torn between the ostrich and the lamb chops. I asked my server which one should I get and she said "definitely the lamb chops don't get the ostrich" I was a bit taken back by her bluntness but I appreciated her honesty. Our food took 24 minutes to come out. I was hoping that I would get more onion rings. But they were good. I wasn't a big fan of the blue cheese mash potatoes. The lamb chops were good! The chicken fried chicken was very good!! I just don't feel like the price matched the food. I did feel out of place. Everyone else was dressed sort of elegantly and we were in our casual clothes. I have given myself a day to cool off before posting this review. My wife and I have been to Wildfire several times and on more than one occasion walked out due to the lack of service. Last night we had a reservation at a wine bar down the street to play trivia. Our wine bar reservation was for 7PM. We went to Wildfire to get a quick bite. We walked in at 6PM, sat down in the bar area and ordered a Mexican Margarita and an order of nachos. I got the Mexican Margarita at 6:25 (yes 25 minutes to get a drink). I told the server we had a 7PM appointment so please check on the nachos. At 6:50 I chased down the server and said that I needed to be somewhere in 10 minutes please get the nachos and pack them to go. At 6:52 the server brings out a plate of nachos and said "they just finished plating them and sat them down". I stated again that I needed to be somewhere in now 8 minutes please do what I asked and pack them to go. She took them away and came back a few minutes later with them packed to go (looking forward to soggy nachos later tonight). To clarify...it took 50 minutes to get a plate of nachos!!! To further add to the annoyance of this, some friends of ours walked in at 6:15, sat a table away, had drinks and an order of wings and were out of there before we were! I will NEVER EVER go to Wildfire again. If there was a way to give zero stars I would. Understand, the food is okay, the service sucks and it wasn't just on this night, it is a pattern at Wildfire. read more

It's been awhile since I've been to downtown Georgetown I never knew they had an upscaled restaurant here that served steak so I had to go check it out. The interior was had a rustic look to it with contemporary decor. The lighting was warming with very light sunlight. The servers there were warm and welcoming and attentive. We weren't expecting a bread basket and our server surprised me with one. Our server Avery had the best customer awareness I've ever encountered. He kept us informed about the timing of the food (which is one reason for a 4star) It took roughly 45mins for our food. Possibly a shift change but still. The ribeye plate was cooked perfectly. I've been all around and this is the first place to get it right the first time. The mashed potatoes were nothing to rave about kinda flavorless. The sweet carrots weren't sweet at all but love how the carrots were hand cut and peeled. The Ny steak also cooked perfectly. Once again mashed potatoes and green beans lacked flavor. My overall review for this establishment is a 4 out of 5. If I'm ever in the need for a really good steak and alot of free time I would return. read more
