If you love a patty melt, this place is for you. After First Friday, we were craving something casual and stopped in here for a burger. Luckily, at around 8pm, things were clearing out and we didn't have to wait in line. The Build Your Own burgers are delicious but the patty melt with their fresh-made thin and crispy fries will cure your hunger as well as brighten up your mood. What makes it special? First, the grilled onion is topped with both American and Swiss, second, the Gold Burger sauce adds a new twist, and third, it's served on Texas toast. Paired with the well-done fries, it's the perfect combo.
I usually go on and on about places I like. But I'll keep this simple because simple is at the heart of this review. Gold Burger is delicious. Full stop. We've tried a few and my favorite is their burger name sake or a custom double smashed patty, American, all of the fixens, and mayo. Get the fries and an iced cold beverage. The service is great though it can get a bit hectic during prime time. When is prime time? When they start putting out the "host will seat you" sign. If it is "please seat yourself" you're gold-en! Early mornings and before lunch is when I like to visit. Enjoy. I love this place. Also, their breakfast is delicious! Try the hashbrowns or their combos with pancakes. Your welcome.
Quaint little diner on the square serving delicious food with amazing service. I'm so glad we decided to stop. We walked in and chose a table. Our server greeted us and took drink orders. We had two more people who were parking, and she returned to greet them and get their drink orders as they walked in. Food - delicious. We got a few different things. Chose smash burger style. Shared some fries. It was all hot and tasty. I can't wait to return. It's nice to find a place with a great burger that isn't the usual chain.
My wife and I are spending the night in Georgetown and we're exploring downtown when we discovered Gold Burger Diner. We wanted to love it, we really did. It looks really cute and welcoming. A person at the front kind of greeted us and asked if we would like a booth or the counter. I said we would prefer a table, he was literally standing next to a vacant table. He said "no problem" and lead us back to a booth. I'm a little portly, so I do better not spilling on my shirt if I am at a table vs a booth. A fact that proved true before the meal ended. When our waiter arrived, the first thing he said was "we are out of mashed potatoes ". Ok, so we had a couple of burgers. Fries don't automatically come with fries, it's al-a-cart. So we ordered fries. When they came, they weren't hot. This is a pet peeve of mine. I always eat my fries first because they can cool down so soon. So either they held the fries in the pan too long, or our order sat to long before coming out to the table. Be hardly had any. It's a shame, because they looked like they would have been great otherwise. I would have brought it up to the waiter, but he never came back to check on us. Never refilled our glasses. Never asked how things were. Never seemed curious why most of the fries were left. When it came time for the check, he just left it and walked away. His name is Tabin H. I only know because it was on the check. I don't like giving negative reviews, but in this case, I'll make an exception.
Service is great. Burgers are great and juicy, so is the patty melt. Coffee is decent. Fries suck. Ambiance reminds you of the old time diners.
Both of us had a burger. Shared a plate of fries Had a thick patty cooked medium on one and two smashed patties on the other. Both were very tasty.
This place was really good!! Our first time here and we loved it! Such a cute diner! Food was really tasty!! My only complaint was that we got our pickles on the side but were charged $3 for them even though that's something that's included in the burger price. But other than that, great experience!
I've been to Gold Burger Diner a couple of times since they opened and recently went again with a friend. It's a super cute spot with great old-school diner vibes, especially the counter seating, which adds to the charm. The food is solid and satisfying, and honestly, nothing beats a fresh burger with a Diet Coke. It's a simple, well-executed diner experience done right. Because it's in a prime location on Georgetown Square, there can be a wait at peak times and the service can be a tad slow, so I'd recommend going when it's a bit less busy. I'd definitely go back again.
First time we visited and it will not be the last. The smash burger patties were perfection as is the regular patty. Burgers are outstanding!!! The French fries are also out of this world! Finely sliced fries perfectly cooked and delicious. My daughter had a chocolate shake. She said it was amazing. Perfect for using with a straw and not so thick it's impossible to drink. Service was excellent! Outstanding burgers for sure!!!
The atmosphere was unique and fun because it mimicked an old American diner with real antiques like a record player and a Dr Pepper machine. However, the food was pretty bland. It didn't have enough salt or flavor. The way it was cooked was great and done well though and the service was friendly.
It was an idyllic Christmas scene from a Hallmark movie last night as we enjoyed the ambiance of the diner with the view of Georgetown Square holiday lights out the window. Absolutely love the ambiance of the restaurant as it's been transformed into an old timey diner. The food is always delicious. Comfort food that will just make you feel good! I loved the Gold Bird chicken sandwich - crispy, golden chicken with just the right amount of buffalo sauce and blue cheese. Don't forget about chili cheese fries for the table. So perfect on a Friday night after a long week. Gold Burger is doing a lot of things right!

Came here with my wife on a recommendation, and this place is an absolute gem. Great atmosphere and awesome vibes right off the bat. Their menu is short and sweet (always a green flag), and the prices are totally fair. I got the Mushroom Swiss burger and really enjoyed it - solid, flavorful, and cooked right. 5/5, would definitely recommend checking them out! Had a lovely server who was super attentive and that's always a gold star. read more
Great price and food. The service was nice as well. I did like the space I had in the booth, but the table moved back and forth. I ordered the Gold Pan Breakfast. So it is actually cheesy hashbrowns covered with you choice of meat and I chose ham. So there was about a quarter cup of chopped fried ham on top. Then I got 2 eggs over medium on top of it all. I also had a cup of drip coffee which tasted well too. Thank you Gold Burger Diner! read more
Popped in to meet my grown children for my birthday lunch on Saturday! I love the decor, take your phone to the bathroom lol there are recipes on the wall! We had a few things to share and try, absolutely get a milkshake! We tried all three, for me Strawberry is number one. Chocolate number two and vanilla bringing it home. The diner dog with Texas chili and cheese was superb, the gold stands burger was phenomenal, and the fried chicken sandwich was Nicky portioned and full of flavor! We shared a large fries and got a table pancake and get a side of gold sauce for the fries! We were sat quick and had great service, I am already planning a dinner visit to see what that chicken fried steak is all about! read more

Great little cafe with that old schools diner feel. We had the smash burger with fries and a hot dog. Chased it down with a couple of cold mimosas. They have a pretty good beer selection and cocktails too! Service is a bit slow so come patient, but give this place a shot read more

We went in to Gold Burger Diner for a family dinner. It's adorable inside. We were seated right away. The server was very nice and helpful. They have a kids menu, it's not on the hard copy menu, but we were verbally told their options. Our server told us his favorite thing in the menu was the Ruben smash burger on rhy. My husband ordered that. It was by far the very very best thing we got !! SOoOo good... We ordered a large fry for the table, they were awesome, perfectly crispy. My fried chicken sandwich had basil aioli. It was delicious. The chicken was cooked perfectly. The kids got chocolate milk shakes. They thought that was mind blowing that they had dessert and dinner at the same time... when in Rome... haha. Lastly ordered the apple pie for dessert. It is from a diner on the square. That was a 10 out of 10 as well. We really enjoyed our time and Gold Burger Diner. I am so glad we finally made it here! Things to mention, they have breakfast all day and a nice/large drink menu. read more
We had big hopes for this place but were sadly let down. Needless to say, we will not be returning here anytime soon. I understand how a busy diner might have some downfalls but this was not an experience I would wish to have again. We put our names on the waitlist and waited twenty minutes. We went nextdoor and got a coffee while we waited. Then we got a notification our table was ready, we went next door and were seated at a filthy table immediately. Our host realized and came ba k with a towel to clean it. The food was delivered in a timely manner but was only okay. I had to ask for sauces to make the burger taste better than it was. The fries are $3 and they are not that great, I had to dip them in ketchup! Everyone at our table was not wowed by the food and service. read more
No fuss little diner in the Georgetown square. It stayed consistently busy, but it was about a 15 minute wait for a 3 top table for us. Your usual diner fare, where we order the gold standard burger and patty melt. Generous portions and delicious food. Didn't get a chance to try the cocktails or dessert, but the options looked good. read more

An eclectic selection of 60s-80s, easy listening #music mixed with rock #classics greet the ears, but not so insanely loud that conversations have to be elevated to be heard. Servers were friendly & personable; Carrie 'Flo' & Aidan we're attentive & welcomed every customer with a smile ;) Blueberry Buttermilk pancake + one egg over easy + a hearty cup of coffee, under $12... just what the #doctor ordered to start my Thursday in #Georgetown. #GoldBurgerDiner is located on the East perimeter of the Georgetown Square, a few doors West of the Georgetown Visitor Center. Street parking spaces line the street & seem to fill with shoppers around 9-930a. * Cody, Brady, Troy &... partnered to enhance #Gtown's retail #footprint via Gold Burger Diner, Mesquite Creek, Outfitters, Golden Rule, & CampRightSide. I totally recommend this place for a comfy space to enjoy a good meal, alone or with friends. read more

Gold Burger diner, right across the street from the center square in Georgetown was an amazing find for us. Normally on a Saturday afternoon, parking is a challenge and it was around the square. So I decided to park about a block away and a nice lady in a gray Mercedes convertible coupe, "KIKY ---" alerted me she was leaving. God bless you mam whoever you are. We took a nice walk. over, got seated right away by the hostess at the front door and were thrilled with the menu. Breakfast All day, burgers, sandwiches, dessert. I'm in Texas heaven. Our server, "JR", greeted us he took our order right away. I ordered the Classic, smashed style, onions on the side. My wife got the same, just one big burger with extra pickles. We split an order of fries. The burgers were absolutely delicious. Well seasoned, with a nice grilled taste to it. Veggies were fresh and crunchy. Buns were toasted well on the grill and the "Golden Sauce" was truly the final touch. The restaurant decor is very well done. It's booths on one side of the wall and counter top seating on the other side. Soft drinks, beer and cocktails are also available. Here's one important thing I noticed. The service staff went above and beyond to make everyone had an amazing experience. Customers expressed their enjoyment as they left. How often do you see that at a restaurant? Laughing with your server, as they check in on you. I'm sure I'll be back to try other items in the menu, real soon. I challenge you to come on down and try them out. It truly GOLDEN! read more

Omg. So cute! It's a real little diner Staff nice, quick service and smells like a fully functioning dinner. Yumm Small establishment, get there early. Three areas for around party of 4-6, other seating is for 2-4 people booths. There is some old school decor like the DrPepper glass bottled soda machine that really works. .35¢. Wish I had some change but saw a young girl get one and a music joke box. Oh, they have fabulous SWEET tea. Kept our beverages full at all times. Pancakes were good. Do you do half order? All our meals were good. Will be back to try the burgers. read more
