I went here on a Wednesday around 11 am and was immediately seated. Our server took a bit of time to get our drinks, but she was very sweet. It was a bit busy and it did take a while for the server to get our order. I ordered calamari and it was delicious. I do wish that the serving was bigger. I was torn between the ostrich and the lamb chops. I asked my server which one should I get and she said "definitely the lamb chops don't get the ostrich" I was a bit taken back by her bluntness but I appreciated her honesty. Our food took 24 minutes to come out. I was hoping that I would get more onion rings. But they were good. I wasn't a big fan of the blue cheese mash potatoes. The lamb chops were good! The chicken fried chicken was very good!! I just don't feel like the price matched the food. I did feel out of place. Everyone else was dressed sort of elegantly and we were in our casual clothes. I have given myself a day to cool off before posting this review. My wife and I have been to Wildfire several times and on more than one occasion walked out due to the lack of service. Last night we had a reservation at a wine bar down the street to play trivia. Our wine bar reservation was for 7PM. We went to Wildfire to get a quick bite. We walked in at 6PM, sat down in the bar area and ordered a Mexican Margarita and an order of nachos. I got the Mexican Margarita at 6:25 (yes 25 minutes to get a drink). I told the server we had a 7PM appointment so please check on the nachos. At 6:50 I chased down the server and said that I needed to be somewhere in 10 minutes please get the nachos and pack them to go. At 6:52 the server brings out a plate of nachos and said "they just finished plating them and sat them down". I stated again that I needed to be somewhere in now 8 minutes please do what I asked and pack them to go. She took them away and came back a few minutes later with them packed to go (looking forward to soggy nachos later tonight). To clarify...it took 50 minutes to get a plate of nachos!!! To further add to the annoyance of this, some friends of ours walked in at 6:15, sat a table away, had drinks and an order of wings and were out of there before we were! I will NEVER EVER go to Wildfire again. If there was a way to give zero stars I would. Love this local gem!! Hate to let the secret out because this place is so wonderful!! Angel the brand new bartender was such a delight, we came back the next evening for more !! Our first time here was really AMAZING, from the wine to the service and everything in between, this place is 5+ starts!! We started with wine while we waited for a seat at the bar... Tuesday night was busy busy and seats in the bar area go like hot cakes ! Once we moved to the bar we ordered some food , the bacon spinach salad and the rock shrimp! Both were fantastic but I think the salad could use a little more dressing for good measure! Enjoyed my first visit to Wildfire. Did not have to wait for a table during a lunch time on a weekend, so that was definitely a plus. There is typically plenty of free parking around the main square. The staff was friendly, speedy with service, and made some great recommendations. Best food entree was the chicken fried steak (~$20). Thought the pecan encrusted pork (~$15) was solid, but I would likely order different sides (corn / sweet potatoes) on the next try if substitutions are allowed. They have an extensive menu, so I believe you'll find something you like whether it's a salad/soup, seafood, or selection of meat. It's been awhile since I've been to downtown Georgetown I never knew they had an upscaled restaurant here that served steak so I had to go check it out. The interior was had a rustic look to it with contemporary decor. The lighting was warming with very light sunlight. The servers there were warm and welcoming and attentive. We weren't expecting a bread basket and our server surprised me with one. Our server Avery had the best customer awareness I've ever encountered. He kept us informed about the timing of the food (which is one reason for a 4star) It took roughly 45mins for our food. Possibly a shift change but still. The ribeye plate was cooked perfectly. I've been all around and this is the first place to get it right the first time. The mashed potatoes were nothing to rave about kinda flavorless. The sweet carrots weren't sweet at all but love how the carrots were hand cut and peeled. The Ny steak also cooked perfectly. Once again mashed potatoes and green beans lacked flavor. My overall review for this establishment is a 4 out of 5. If I'm ever in the need for a really good steak and alot of free time I would return. read more

My Husband and I went to Wildfire for Valentines day and it was our second time there. He got the seafood pasta which he is obsessed with and i got a steak again even though i didnt like it the first time i thought maybe it was just a one time thing. Do not get the Filet, they completely char the outside even when you order it medium or medium rare, it seems they just cook it on way too high of heat probably trying to rush the cooking process. bleh it just tasted like ash and it was a $50 steak. Not to mention when we got there they tried to sit us at a completely dirty table with food all over the seats until my husband asked for us to move. We made reservations for this restaurant the previous day which gave me lots of time to read dozens and dozens of reviews. The big take away I got was that not everybody was pleased with the quality of the food and sometimes the service was lacking. Pricing seemed to be an issue as well, but that may be due to its upscale location near the town square. You will have to park along the street or in the square and thankfully there are no parking meters........ yet. What surprised me about this restaurant was just how small the dining room was which was capable of seating at the most, 65 people. They do have a separate bar area which has additional seating. They also have an additional room for private parties. We came on a Sunday evening and it was mostly full and the room did get quite loud. We started with a couple of drinks and then ordered the calamari. The calamari was somewhat rubbery and bland and the 2 sauces weren't up to the task, although the shaved parmesian helped. The yeast rolls were forgettable, but the drinks were memorable. I ordered the chicken fried steak and my guests had vegetarian dishes. I appreciated the fact that there was absolutely no gristle to my CFS whatsoever, however, the corn was canned, but the mashed potatoes were good. One of my guests said his portobello dish fell short without really elaborating. The Black Forest cake for dessert was the perfect finish. They're stuck in catering to an aging crowd and don't seem to be interested in change or attracting a younger crowd. Absolutely amazing experience. Though the grill was down tonight and they had to cook all plates on the flat top the food was exceptional. The pricing was perfect and very well fit (if not a bit underpriced) for the quality of meal you are served. Each bite was a new experience and an explosion of flavor. The service was perhaps the best part of the night. Heather took great care of us and was happy to answer any questions we had. Thank you Heather for making our evening amazing. We ordered plates that are difficult to prepare as they typically have a rather gamy flavor (duck and elk) however their preparation for the meats took away any unwanted flavor but reserved the intricate flavor profiles only such meats can provide. This restaurant has always been our "go to" to celebrate special occasions and holidays. In the past month I have been here twice, once with my husband for dinner and once with a large group of ladies for lunch. Both times the service and ambience was really good but sadly the quality of the food was subpar. My husband had the macadamia crusted shrimp which he said was good. But the sides which he usually loves were mushy. I and several of my friends had the chicken fried steak. Mine was very greasy and the breading was thin and mushy The same was said by the others. Another had chicken and dumplings which she was only able to eat a couple of bites. I am so disappointed in Wildfire. It was pretty cold, so thank goodness the manager cut the air up some and turned off the ceiling fan. The waiter, on the other hand, was not as accommodating. When we were seated, he came over and we were looking up at the ceiling fan and before we could ask, he said, "no, we cannot turn it off. When we ordered food we asked the waiter which was better, the Cajun chicken or the Jamaican jerk pork chop was better, and he told the chicken. My friend ordered and it was just ok. But the people behind us who sat after us ordered their food, and when tge waiter brought the guy, the pork chop, he came back to see how he liked it. Tge guy said it was really good and the waiter said, "see, I told you, it's one of our better dishes. So I'm not sure why he told us chicken and told the other guy that the pork chop was better. New York Steak was tasteless and over seared. Be aware that they DO NOT cook your steak with salt nor pepper. We were not told this when ordering but we overheard another waiter tell her table this. Upon receiving our steaks, we were able to confirm they were not seasoned. The steak fries were good. The kids burgers don't come with cheese and are over cooked. The The Houston Hurricane cocktail tasted like Nyquill. Our waiter was nice though. The ambience was nice but the women's bathroom doesn't match how nice everything else is, needs some TLC. Long time fans of this restaurant for 2 reasons. 1 food is great and 2 service is great! Had a minor incident tonight that could have gone different ways, but was handled quickly and professionally by all involved. My wife's steak was not cooked properly and mushrooms had no wine in them. Bartenders Michael, Shane and Jacob notified kitchen and manager was out in 1 minute asking questions. Travis quickly notified kitchen staff and both issues were corrected within minutes. We were more than satisfied with responses and timing. I want to thankd the entire staff and management and kitchen with making our 34 anniversary dinner a wonderful time. So I wanted to love this restaurant. Great reviews, pet friendly outside, vegetarian options. My mistake was in what I ordered. The Grilled Portobello, Artichoke & Asparagus can be found under From The Grist Mill in the lunch menu. With Penne pasta and a Roma poblano sauce in my head I pictured a bowl of pasta with an Alfredo sauce with some Roma tomatoes, a little bit of poblanos, mushrooms, artichokes and Asparagus tips. It sounded heavenly. Did they loose a star because it was a tomato sauce? No. That was my assumption. Had I known it was a tomato sauce, I wouldn't have touched it with a ten foot pole. I love tomatoes, but sauces give me horrible heartburn and I'm not a fan of the taste. What they did loose stars for were the following: There were more peppers then pasta. I hate poblano peppers more then tomato sauce. I had meant to ask for my dish to be without them but there were distractions and so I figured I would just put them aside. I put more of my dish aside then I got to eat. There were onions in the dish. The one thing I hate more then poblanos and tomato sauce... onions. It wasn't listed so I didn't know that I needed to ask for them to be removed. There was very little pasta in my pasta dish. Something I was surprised about since upon setting the plate on my table it looked like it was packed with pasta. Under the toppings was almost nothing but peppers. The Asparagus was tasteless. I normally love Asparagus, just sautéed in salt and pepper is good. (Garlic is better!) But I don't think these were sautéed with any seasoning at all. Finally, our surver; who was very nice, seemed to forget we were out there. Or maybe she went to lunch but didn't get anyone to cover our table? I had to call my doctor to reschedule an appointment because we couldn't get anyone to give us our check. I might try here again. But there is an entire list of other pet friendly restaurants I'm going to try first. PS, my mom (who I was out to lunch with) liked her food. So an extra star for that. read more

I have not eaten at wildfire in 8 to 10 years having moved out of the area back in 2015. I was exploring some nearby roads for Motorcycling future group rides and thought I would check and see if wildfire was still in there old historic Georgetown location and was happy to see that they still were. I remember they had a pretty good cheesesteak here made with beef fajitas, grilled peppers and onions, and Mexican Oaxaca cheese. Yes! Still on the menu. So I ordered one up and still a great sandwich. That said, I'm not sure what they use to grill the baguette but thinking they may want to try alternatives like olive oil, or even avocado oil as whatever oil they used imported a flavor. I am gluten free and our server, Taylor, was especially attentive and helpful. I got the special - fish tacos - and Taylor asked the kitchen to substitute corn tortillas for me. She also double checked that the rice and black beans were ok for me, without my asking. It was all so flavorful and delicious! My husband got the Four Horseman Burger. He loves spicy food and he said it was so spicy he had to eat it slowly. I'm sure he'll get it again. Loved our visit! read more

Well Octavio was our "waiter". We arrived on time, only one other table had customers- it was a birthday celebration. We relocated to a table from a booth as our friends were too penned in. Once seated we ordered cocktails. Which arrived fairly routine. We ordered a bottle of wine that was out of stock and my husband chose another selection. We ordered our food. The wine arrived with the Entree shortly after ( no plates were removed for this) My 5oz filet wrapped in bacon was underdone ( bacon was not crisped) I had to ask for my green bean side dish as no one mentioned it was coming. my husband's Berkshire pork chop tasted mushy , we assumed it was actually underdone. The accompanying sweet potato hash was huge chunks not diced; he said the collard greens were the best part of his meal!! Octavio asked WHY we never said anything and I told him he never came back to ask how our meal was. He did give my husband credit as they should. But no dessert for a birthday. The first time was on prime rib Monday to celebrate a birthday. When the reservations were made, the birthday was mentioned and the person on the other end wrote a little note. On the day of, no acknowledgement was made. Not a huge deal. But the food was lacking. My husband's prime rib was an exercise in carving out inedible portions to get to the small amount of edible meat. Mine was a better cut but the meat was dry and lacking. A week later I dined there with friends. My grilled chicken pasta dish was tasty. The shrimp chowder was appreciated by all who ordered it. One friend ordered the rib eye steak and I could tell that most of it was inedible, again due to the inferior cut. To the kitchen: strive to provide consistently high quality steak offerings. The good: - Calamari and pecan green beans were excellent - Bread and butter was great with an interesting biscuit-style texture - Overall service level actually wasn't bad, minus the smarmy disrespect The bad: - The cowboy bone-in ribeye was over-cooked, lackluster, not 20oz, thin, and was a poor excuse for a steak listed as a bone-in The ugly: - Starting to think some male waiters should be banned from waiting on other males, because every once in a while you get a smarmy one trying to subtly disrespect you while acting like they're being professional. It's only a mild annoyance, but if your culture is promoting or allowing it, you're not professionals, you're lame. I went to Georgetown to get out of Austin and all I got was more Austin. Please tell your wait staff that your clever disrespect isn't clever, actual adults are just ignoring you and taking note not to come back, because they wouldn't act this way or they'd want to kick their own ass. Hoping to come back another time with hopes that the rest of the wait staff isn't toxic and miserable like this one was.
