Everything went well here! The food was good, however, most of it could have been hotter. I believe it is/was more of a bar and they have now incorporated food and the kitchen itself is just not that close depending on where you are located. this place has changes since we last came in. they have added extra indoor space which you can sit at, they take reservations but we got lucky there was a table avaliable when we came in. we didn't go on the balcony this time as it appears to have changes as well and I wasn't sure if it was reserved or open seating. the tuna tartare was sooooo good! had a great spice & citrus level, I loved the chips it came with! we also tried the bruschetta which was good, I enjoyed the balsamic perals however my significant other did not. we were excited to try the fig and brie flat bread but they were out of brie so that was a bummer. Exceptional drinks and yummy appetizers. If you're a vodka drinker like myself, I highly recommend getting the "The Cougar". It had just the right small amount of sweetness to it and was perfect to sip on. As for their food, they mainly have light snacks /appetizers, and I would recommend getting their Bruschetta and Margarita flatbread. I'm not a fan of Bruschetta either, but theirs was so delicious! Urban Rooftop is located in downtown Round Rock. When you arrive, take the elevator to the 4th floor I believe. My friend and I arrived on a Friday at 4pm right when they opened and were seated immediately. However within the first 2 hrs it got packed so I def recommend making reservations. Headed here for a drink before heading out for dinner. We sat outside so we could watch the beautiful sunset. It did not disappoint. A little chilly, but doable. Not much on the ambiance scale. It was busy, lots of people, but not a lot to look at besides the highway. I feel like they could do a lot more with the rooftop to enhance the "vibe." Our waitress was efficient but not friendly or informative. Not sure if she was having a bad day, or that was just her personality. We ordered drinks and bruschetta for the 3 of us. GREAT view of the highway *wink wink* - it was just funny that this place highlights being the best rooftop bar and restaurant in the city. We came to Urban Rooftop for drinks and drinks we had (and so did the other people in the room.) The specialty drinks here are great and I FEEL like this place is typically a pretty chill place to hang out. Unfortunately at the same time my group of friends and I were here so was another group of ROWDY friends. They were SO loud that I had to YELL at the person sitting directly beside me. They had OBVIOUSLY had too much to drink. We spoke to our server who agreed with us and said they were loud. She claimed to have looked for the manager and offered to move us to a separate area- which we appreciated but I truly don't feel the move would have made a difference. It was blatantly obvious that others in the room were also bothered by this loud group. I truly don't see the issue with addressing the group and asking them to be considerate and not yell at the top of their lungs to tell stories. (btw we were told they were already headed out the door, which is why we chose to stay in the same spot.) Anyway... the bar was nice and even nicer outside where the live music was. We'll definitely come back and maybe try to sit outside for the music instead. It's just not ideal with it being over 100 until after 9:30. Definitely recommend for drinks but we still have to try the food. Service was good but a bit slow. I found myself realizing I had ordered a drink and forgot about it because it took so long. I had been reading about the Urban Rooftop Club, so I suggested to my wife that we check it out. When we got to the rooftop, we took in the view. The bartender was friendly and explained that all beers were served in cans, but they could provide plastic cups if we preferred. He also mentioned that there were three bars in one and that our tab would be linked across all of them. This setup made things really simple. They checked our IDs upon entering, regardless of age. I wanted to give this 4 stars but...I wouldn't go back. We came here to start my mom's birthday celebrations and left being unimpressed by the amount of alcohol in the drinks and the food served in each order. At first I thought it was only me who didn't taste/feel any alcohol after a couple of drinks. Then when we were leaving (after a shot later), I was talking with a couple other people who had the same amount, and they were agreeing with my sentiment. It seemed the drinks were pretty watered down and for the price it was a little disappointing. The food was yummy, but it was definitely a little sparse; the board had sliced cheese (like one kind of sandwich style cheese) and a couple of crackers, some meats and everything else it comes with...the description definitely says cheeses, but I only saw the white cheese in the same triangle cut big enough to go on a sandwich. The bread and butter were yummy. I don't think I would return. I'd rather pay $15+ for a cocktail that's not going to taste and feel like juice. Drinks were delicious but we did have brunch there for the first time and that was a tiny bit underwhelming. Most of our dishes were good (biscuits were very tasty) but wouldn't say they were worth making it specifically for brunch over. We were surprised to see Penicillins on the menu (deLISH) and the mimosas were definitely fresh bubbly wine that wasn't too sweet. Really liked the bartender so might be back just to sit up at the bar. One problem we encountered were that several items were listed as gluten-free and we have a friend in our party who has a severe allergy so she dug in a bit. They bring out a packaged loaf of "gluten-free" bread that definitely wasn't and served potatoes on a gluten-free plate that were covered in breading. When asked, she said everything was packaged so not really sure what was in what. The bar was remodeled since the last time I was there. The string lights were nice, and we were able to find a table near the music stage and between patio heaters, so we were nice and warm despite the chilly evening. Our waitress took our order, left, and then came back several minutes later to request a credit card to run the tab on. This meant we waited quite a while for drinks which is why we only had one each. The cocktail I ordered, the Kids in America, was delicious and one I will order again. We couldn't sit outdoors because it was so cold; they did have heaters but because the patio was empty, we opted to sit indoors and it was a very warm, homey vibe. We ordered an espresso martini and a Blake's old fashioned. The drinks did take some time to come out but it was worth the wait because the espresso martini was just the right amount of everything and pretty strong.
