Love this place. The bartenders and management are down to earth, talented, and always checking in without being overbearing. We have been coming since they opened and have never had a bad experience. They can make anything from classic cocktails to custom drinks and the vibe is friendly and easygoing. I have been wanting to try this place since it's close to home. Plenty of parking on the street, one small door entrance. The vibe inside is amazing the outside area plenty of tables, cornhole, vintage truck humongous TV, very loud sound system, food trucks. They have chairs lined up and you can make your own little circle or sit at one of the picnic tables. Beers are served in a glass. That's a huge plus for me. Met lots of new friends. Children are allowed until 8 PM. read more

Love the vibe and decor of Night Owl-very cool spot! We decided to grab a few drinks here to go with our food from the food trucks outside (both great spots by the way). The bartender was super nice and she greeted us right away. We told her we were first timers and she gave us some suggestions on what to try. They've got a great list of drinks named after neighborhoods in Leander which I thought was so cool. I had the Nameless Hollow and it was quite tasty. Not overly sweet at all-I really enjoyed it. Great selection of drinks and pricing is very reasonable. Give this place a try for sure! We will absolutely be back. read more

Came here with my wife and we had a drink and thought the place was cool. We came on a Saturday and it wasn't overly crowded which we enjoyed. Inside they have a few nice lounge chairs and cozy couches which was a nice touch for a chill evening. The staff didn't seem overly friendly, but then again we ordered through the app and the drinks were at our table in under 2 minutes. Gotta say, I enjoyed ordering like this. The app was called Union. First I've heard of it - I'll admit we don't get out very often at all. The Union app does appear to have some specials. For instance, I got Maker's Mark $10.00 +As Old Fashioned But there was a Union credit of like $7 off. So effectively $3 which is an awesome deal. Now, I'm not sure how the Union Specials all work and their availability, but they were appreciated. Inside the place was an awesome vibe. read more

Monday night trivia starts at 7:30 pm but the female host is the most rude person on the planet. The beer here is likely the same at your run of the mill beer spot . Nothing really special or unique. So in other words, this place doesn't really specialize in craft beers but the mixed beers are acceptable but there is a large projection screen outside and large heaters for the winter time. The Womens bathroom door does not close properly so be careful no one walks in on you like what happened to me. Awkward! Bartenders are pretty nice. The location is chill it's right on the corner of the street and very close to other bars too so you can skip around to your heart's content. Parking is never an issue either! MEH... not great not bad. There is limited seating and a large L-shaped bar inside. Outside, there are picnic tables with plenty of seating and a large TV screen. Not sure how the covered outside seating will be in the hot summer or cold winter seasons. The bar is stocked with all your favorites and some high-end bourbons. There are some local beers on tap as well. It appears that Old Town Leander will become Rainey St lite with small bars and (hopefully) good entertainment. I believe Leanderthals (including me) are just pleased as punch that more entertainment spots are planned for the area. We are not one-and-done folks we will return during a game or when there is a live band. read more

Place is clean.. cool decor... but that's it. Almost Zero service. You scan a menu, and order on your phone. They bring it to you (only service you get). No one comes around to chat, or check in. They spend the time behind the bar vaping while mixing drinks. TV and music is so loud people are yelling to talk to each other. The place seems like it can't decide if it wants to be a sport bar, speak easy or a dive. Prices are way above all the places within walking distance. Top it off, they charge a service fee if you use a credit card over paying cash. Not going back to a place that requires a service fee for credit cards after charging as much as they do for drinks. We bought one round, and left to walk across to another place where drinks are almost half the price, and service is great. read more

Fun spot with a cool vibe. My wife & I are Leander locals and frequent this fun little bar often. Small inside, nice cozy little bar. Then a large outdoor covered patio with a large projection screen. A couple of food trucks outside & live music on the weekends. It's pretty easy for us to have fun here and I like that :) read more

Visited the bar this evening. A group was super loud, yelling and shouting at the top of their lungs with the women groping each other sexually. I didn't realize smoking/vaping was allowed indoors, which the group was doing as well. Felt like there wasn't much management of the bar going on. The bartender sucked too. read more

Showed her the video of the 2 men who drugged us. She gave me the number to her general manager. The GM was right on the situation, made the report to the police right away, said if they come back it will be criminal trespassing. After hearing that Felt a lot safer and heard. This is not a kid friendly place!! We were told the management was watching us from the cameras and conveniently when we slowed down buying drinks they enforced a no kids policy after 8pm. Granted we had quite a few kids, and 5 families, and our boys got a little rambunctious at times, but for them to take the water away and not let the kids have water was just wrong. read more

This is a good spot for happy hour since it's a much longer period than most places offer. They have creative cocktails and beer of course. I liked being able to order via our phones, so we didn't have to wait for a server to come check on us when they got busy. We sat outside which has a decent amount of seating. There are misting fans to help keep you cool, but as the sun goes down it can be tough to stay out of the direct sunlight. I brought my dog and really loved that they would allow me to sit inside with her if I wanted. There are just a few inside seats other than the bar, but the outdoor area is nice so I didn't mind sitting out there! I read someone said there wasn't any service, which is not the case, they just don't have cocktail servers coming outside randomly. If you want someone to bring you your drink yes you order on your phone. I just walk up to the bar personally. The bartenders are very knowledgeable and have great suggestions. ZERO STARS: What just happened here? Visited plenty of times, had plenty of good experiences except with the same male bartender. It's so sad and disappointing he's allowed to continue his employment here with a demeanor that leaves such a terrible image for this place. Let alone in a position of providing service to customers that enjoy coming here. Nothing is worse than a bartender who carries such a hateful, unprofessional, unfriendly, uninviting, disrespectful attitude. One that simply responds to customers with such disgust and annoyed attitude. Can't even manage to maybe smile; maybe be welcoming; approachable; have the tiniest bit of respectful tone? I really liked this place, but this is the third time I've witnessed Brent behave so disrespectfully towards customers. As though he owns the place so he can respond to customers however he wishes and then tell them if they don't like it, there are plenty of other places to be. I always thought, "Yikes. The guy is clearly having a really bad day. Just stay away from him and give him a break. There are plenty of other super friendly bartenders that happily serve people." But now I know better. It happened to me today and I was incredibly confused as to what sparked him up like that. Maybe he does own the joint? Maybe that's why he behaves the way he does because no one can tell him anything any ways. Sadly; Brent, if you're the owner of Night Owl Leander, that's absolutely not the environment anyone ever thought this place would be. I don't think anyone should recommend this place with ownership like that. Friendly, family welcoming and loving our community -- our community doesn't want businesses like this. The beers are reasonably priced and their old fashioned is pretty good (but not so reasonably priced). The interior is nice but it's small and fills up fast. Luckily it has a large outdoor seating area. There wasn't any food options when I went but I'm told they will eventually have some food trucks. I'm usually very easy going, but it appears the bartenders were more fixated on the kids outside then serving the customers who were there to order drinks. not to mention they took the water jug from outside and never brought it back out. don't have a problem if you want to be an adult bar, but make sure you don't advertise as a kid friendly outdoor space. you are also not a 6th street bar, you are in downtown Leander! read more
