Came here with my wife and we had a drink and thought the place was cool. We came on a Saturday and it wasn't overly crowded which we enjoyed. Inside they have a few nice lounge chairs and cozy couches which was a nice touch for a chill evening. The staff didn't seem overly friendly, but then again we ordered through the app and the drinks were at our table in under 2 minutes. Gotta say, I enjoyed ordering like this. The app was called Union. First I've heard of it - I'll admit we don't get out very often at all. The Union app does appear to have some specials. For instance, I got Maker's Mark $10.00 +As Old Fashioned But there was a Union credit of like $7 off. So effectively $3 which is an awesome deal. Now, I'm not sure how the Union Specials all work and their availability, but they were appreciated. Inside the place was an awesome vibe.

Monday night trivia starts at 7:30 pm but the female host is the most rude person on the planet. The beer here is likely the same at your run of the mill beer spot . Nothing really special or unique. So in other words, this place doesn't really specialize in craft beers but the mixed beers are acceptable but there is a large projection screen outside and large heaters for the winter time. The Womens bathroom door does not close properly so be careful no one walks in on you like what happened to me. Awkward! Bartenders are pretty nice. The location is chill it's right on the corner of the street and very close to other bars too so you can skip around to your heart's content. Parking is never an issue either! Pretty decent clientele here too!

I really enjoyed this spot and was invited by a coworker. I've been in this area before but have never come across this place but I'm glad I did. I really really enjoyed the decor and the vibe. It's so unique. I wish I grabbed more pictures. This place is great for an intimate vibe or with a group. Our bartender was amazing and very energetic and polite. The drinks were great as well. I'm not sure if they serve food lol we didn't come to eat. I'd def go back!

We had a great time here. The bartenders/staff were awesome. Full bar and taps. Cool little outside area with just enough shade. A little more seating would be good, but they're obv limited on space. Cool little hang out, we'll definitely be back!

Place is clean.. cool decor... but that's it. Almost Zero service. You scan a menu, and order on your phone. They bring it to you (only service you get). No one comes around to chat, or check in. They spend the time behind the bar vaping while mixing drinks. TV and music is so loud people are yelling to talk to each other. The place seems like it can't decide if it wants to be a sport bar, speak easy or a dive. Prices are way above all the places within walking distance. Top it off, they charge a service fee if you use a credit card over paying cash. Not going back to a place that requires a service fee for credit cards after charging as much as they do for drinks. We bought one round, and left to walk across to another place where drinks are almost half the price, and service is great.

Opening weekend!!! Our friends brought us to check this place out... We will definitely be here again! I'm sure there are some kinks to work out/seating to arrange...but it's a cool place!!! We loved the art and vibe. Yummy drinks and good service. The outdoor area was really nice for those watching the game on the big screen. Can't wait to try more on the menu! (Maybe the open area inside without seating would make a good dance floor, eh? eh? ...just my wishful thinking... It's still super cool!)

The spot to be! THE SERVICE IS AMAZING, you'll always have a good time and memories made with the beautiful staff. Amber, Layla, T and you can't forget Ian! Beer is good but the neighborhood drinks are inspired by the masses are top notch! Everyone is here not only for the game but here for NIGHT OWL!

Nothing says "relaxing night out" like cracked slide equipment that looks like it's one enthusiastic kid (or adult, no judgment) away from becoming a physics lesson. Add in a generous sprinkling of rusty nails and broken glass on the play truck and you've got yourself a full nostalgia-meets-tetanus situation. And then there's the legendary pergola: beams casually chilling in what appear to be old buckets, held together by vibes, hope, and whatever higher power oversees questionable DIY projects. It's less "shade structure" and more "structural suggestion." Bonus points: there are plenty of places to smoke--like, plenty. If you've ever thought, "I wish I could light up while contemplating my life choices next to a semi-stable wooden structure," this is your moment. Honestly, it's kind of impressive. Charmingly unpolished. But impressive in the way a shopping cart going downhill unattended is impressive--you can't look away. It's definitely a neighborhood bar, but with a slightly elevated vibe that makes you feel like you stumbled into the nice version of a local hangout, not the sticky‑floor kind. I ordered three rounds of Hendrick's and tonic, and my partner went with four rounds of Tito's and Sprite. When the bill came out to $140, I had to take a quiet moment with myself. Yes, Hendrick's is top shelf, but even with that in mind... whew. That total felt a little ambitious for a neighborhood bar in Cedar Park. I'm all for a good cocktail, but I also know what these pours cost elsewhere, and this pricing didn't quite match the setting. That said, the service was excellent. Our bartender was attentive, quick, and had that perfect balance of friendly without being overly chatty. She kept an eye on the bar, and we never had to wait long for a refill -- which I appreciated, especially since the place wasn't packed. Honestly, the smooth service was the highlight of the night. The vibe itself is cool -- a little eclectic, a little upscale, and clearly a favorite for the local crowd. It's the kind of place you go when you want to unwind without dealing with the Domain crowd or the chaos of downtown Austin. I can absolutely see why people love it. But between the drink prices and the overall experience, this is one of those spots I'd visit occasionally, not regularly. A cute neighborhood bar? Yes. A $140‑for‑seven‑drinks bar? Not for me.

Located off Anderson Mill in the corner of a strip mall is a bookshelf with a door on the right side. If you cannot figure out the entrance, there is a doorbell to ring as well. I believe it is owned by the same people who own The Mill bar right next door, which makes it feel like a cool bonus space. My friend and I sat next to a faux fireplace, where we were greeted by the only bartender working and placed our order. Once he opened the tab, it was disappointing that he never came back to check if we wanted another drink. It wasn't super busy on the Monday we went, but since he was the only one manning the bar, the bartender was always doing something, so I don't blame him fully for not checking back in with us. I ordered a drink called the Velvet Vice. It looked nothing like the picture and tasted similar to an Aviation cocktail with egg whites. I happened to really like it. It is a very relaxed space, but once the speakeasy gimmick wears off, it does not have much else going for it. It is still a cool place, but I am not sure it was worth the lengthy drive to get there. I may visit Obsidian Brewery time after time after time after time and never find out how their beer is. This is because a) They have an outstanding bar and b) They have an outstanding kitchen. For me, beer is a hardship beverage you drink when there is nothing else better available. When I go to a bar, I can sometimes be looking for mix-mastering. Usually I am looking for outstanding top of the line hard spirits. * * * When I walked into Obsidian, I looked at their bar. It was love at first sight. In front of me were twenty yards of three shelves of the most wonderful bottles I could possibly imagine. Half of them I had never heard of before. * * * I settled on a Buddha's Hand Gin. Buddha and Gin rarely appear in the same sentence Never mind the same label on a bottle. I ordered it straight up. I went immediately to Nirvana. Forget the meditation and the austerities. The Buddha's Hand Gin was as good as a trip to the Himalayas. Buddha's Hand is an obscure citrus fruit that grows multiple protuberances the way some horseradishes do. It is golden and looks like a hand. Ergo the name. The Buddha's Hand Gin is a citrus tinged gin with an edge more like orange zest than like orange juice. The savvy local guide I came with adored his Thai Curry Wood Fired Rings. I went with a Cheesy Bread. This is open-faced grilled cheese on a thick slice of bread the size of a shoebox, with a wonderful homemade tomato sauce on about 1/3 of it. It is the best cheese pizza you have ever had. I was as in love with my cheese bread as I was with my citrus gin. * * * The company was also outstanding. Which is just as well because Obsidian is a social place.
