Unfriendly staff, clearly over serving patrons. Rough crowd. Overpriced drinks. Weird ambiance compared to rest of DT Round Rock.

The food was genuinely excellent, and the service was warm and attentive throughout. The bed was also a standout -- more comfortable than what I've experienced at most four-star hotels. I also loved the in-room Nespresso machine, which was a great touch. The only drawbacks are the location and setting. It's not ideal if you want to be close to a more metropolitan, walkable area, and being right on the creek means there can be quite a few bugs, especially in the evening. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for a relaxing, stylish getaway with great food and very comfortable rooms.

I have to remember it is a hotel bar, with live music that also welcome to the round rock nightlife patrons The music was live and had a nice sound to it, it could've been greatly improved with some type of assistance because although the gentleman was singing, could not make out the words could've been a combination of his articulation and my hearing but either way be improved The martini was well-balanced and well-made Friendly interactive, bartender It has been several years since I have been here... It won't take me that long to come back again. Definitely needs to be on your rotation if you're looking for a good bar that round rock area with live music.

Located off Anderson Mill in the corner of a strip mall is a bookshelf with a door on the right side. If you cannot figure out the entrance, there is a doorbell to ring as well. I believe it is owned by the same people who own The Mill bar right next door, which makes it feel like a cool bonus space. My friend and I sat next to a faux fireplace, where we were greeted by the only bartender working and placed our order. Once he opened the tab, it was disappointing that he never came back to check if we wanted another drink. It wasn't super busy on the Monday we went, but since he was the only one manning the bar, the bartender was always doing something, so I don't blame him fully for not checking back in with us. I ordered a drink called the Velvet Vice. It looked nothing like the picture and tasted similar to an Aviation cocktail with egg whites. I happened to really like it. It is a very relaxed space, but once the speakeasy gimmick wears off, it does not have much else going for it. It is still a cool place, but I am not sure it was worth the lengthy drive to get there. They play pop music videos as well as Country Western and Latin music. The staff are friendly and fun to talk with. Today I met Junior the bartender and Marcos the owner. I got a plate of chips and salsa with a water shortly after taking a seat. The menu comes as a physical menu as well as virtual (QR Code). I ordered the Latin Burger which consisted of an angus beef patty, served on a bed of melted cheese, accompanied by caramelized onions, bacon, tomato and lettuce. It is super juicy since the meat is bought fresh from a butcher in Georgetown. It comes with French fries too. I also had a Love Street Draft Beer. The food and the conversation will make you want to return over and over. Thank you Marcos and Junior for making me feel at home!

The Bichota cocktail was a standout--sweet, refreshing, and with just enough of a kick to keep you sipping slowly. The Old Fashioned was equally impressive: sweet yet balanced, served in a stylish glass with a unique holder that made the experience feel elevated. For food, the chicharrón with fried yuca and tostones was perfection. The pork was fried to a crisp golden shell without being greasy, and seasoned just right--not too salty, but enough to make every bite crave-worthy. The yuca and tostones were cut to the perfect thickness for even cooking, with a satisfying crunch outside and tender inside, especially when dipped into their garlicky sauce. The cheese sticks are an absolute must-have--crispy outside, oozy inside, and dangerously addictive. And the arepas? Exceptionally good--stuffed with beans, cheese, beef, and sweet plantains for that perfect salty-sweet balance. Every plate showed attention to texture, seasoning, and presentation. Price Considering the quality of ingredients, creative plating, and generous portions, the prices felt fair for a fusion dining experience. The cocktails were crafted with care and worth every penny. Appetizers could easily be shared, making it easy to get variety without breaking the bank. Environment We sat outside and it was amazing for groups, dates, and inside it is super cool. The décor is not fancy but really fun Austin style. There is a section bar where they play music which I want to try. Service The service was cool and amicable. It looks the server was new but he did give recommendations. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and offered great pairing suggestions. Dishes came out at a good pace, and drinks were refreshed quickly. You could tell the staff was proud of the food they were serving, which made the whole experience even better. Overall: If you're looking for a place where Latin flavors meet creative execution, this spot is worth the visit. Come hungry, order a mix of small plates, and don't skip the cocktails--or the garlic sauce.

With my girlfriend coming into town, I knew it was the perfect chance. We booked a reservation ahead of time using OpenTable, and even though we showed up late, the owners Lawrence and Rachel were immediately friendly and accommodating to us. Located at the Affordable Storage shopping center just north of Hutto, Grapes & Rye is so comfortable inside that you don't even think about it being a converted storage unit. There's plenty of seating for parties of different sizes and chairs that are welcoming and comfortable for long visits. Their menu is impressively expansive with a seasonal fall menu and a regular menu packed with specialty cocktails, classics, and all the liquor needed to make anything you can think of. We were served water immediately once we sat down, which felt very inviting and made me feel welcomed in their space. On their big TV was the Wizards playing the Cavs, and there was the pinnacle of New Jack Swing and R&B playing inside. It was already a fantastic vibe. While we were debating our drinks, Lawrence came by, asked us what we liked, and made picks for us that we trusted. For me, he suggested an Aviation made with gin and maraschino liqueur that was practically glowing when placed in front of me. After my first sip, I patted myself on the back for a drink I didn't even choose. He nailed my preferences perfectly, and on top of that, the drink was one of the most refreshing and well-balanced cocktails I have ever had. As for my girlfriend, she was suggested a Vierre Caureux that she really seemed to enjoy. Our tastes in drinks are pretty different, but we both were very satisfied with Lawrence's suggestions. This led to us asking them about their origins and learning that Grapes & Rye is a passion project of theirs built on their love of bartending and cocktails. They do such a good job that it's hard not to imagine them doing it full time. We hung out for quite a while savoring our beverages before ordering another round. I ordered their Negroni that was easily one of the best Negronis I have ever had. It's so vividly impressive that I immediately want them catering all future events I go to, and I want to see them cater my wedding in like three years time. It's that good. My girlfriend got a Pink Lychee Spritz which she kept saying to me "that's really good" over and over again, showing that it wasn't just me who was impressed by their cocktail mastery. Next time she's in town, I know we'll be back because the drinks here are truly on a different plane of existence. Grapes & Rye has surpassed cocktail hour and become a cocktail experience, making beverages that are next level. They deserve all the success in the world, and it couldn't happen to a better duo. RIYL: The best drinks served out of a converted storage unit.
