I wanted to like this place. I did not. We walked in at a peak time and there were only 2 tables seated, which took me by surprise. This place has been around for a little while and I figured it would be a little more lively. We were taken to our table, which was lovely. The table itself was made of a nice wood, the lighting and decor were tasteful, but when I sat in the chair, it became very clear that these chairs are not intended for anyone over 170 pounds. I glanced at the other patrons and noticed no one was sitting back in their seat relaxing, even the very slender folks. Hard to relax when your hips are being squeezed to death. That was strike one. Strike two came when I started looking for a drink menu. The specials were printed on an AI generated flyer. I found the drinks, but could not find a listing of NA drinks. It was either water or alcohol, I guess. It didn't matter to me because at this point I was just looking to end the visit as quickly as possible. Strike three was the food. The menu was all over the place. It had Philly cheesesteak, tacos, steak, burgers, pizza... there was no focus. Since I'd gone there with Mexican in mind, that's what I ordered. I ordered shrimp quesadillas with street corn. The food came out extremely fast. There was not a single fleck of seasoning anywhere. There was no hint of lime in the street corn. There was no spice at all on the shrimp. It was flat and flavorless. My companion ordered the beef enchilada, which was described to me as being "for a specific type of palate". As far as I could tell, there was no dessert menu. To say this place was a disappointment doesn't even begin to cut it. I should have left when I realized the seats were only about 16" wide but I was too curious about all the good reviews. So we came today for Mother's Day lunch. My husband called a few weeks ago to make the reservation and because of the size they said we would get a private room. This "private room" is just the back part of the restaurant and it is not private. Then they had a 2 man Karaoke duo singing the whole entire time right next to us! It was unbearable, so loud, not even good karaoke! We could not talk at all, we came to spend time with our family. These things should have been explained before we booked! The food came an hour later and hour and half for the rest of the table, so half of our table was done eating and waiting. They didn't even bring out the kids first, so then kids were starving. I lowkey miss Delucca, but this is a good replacement. The menu is pretty extensive with it ranging from TexMex to unique flavors. I got the Piggyback Shrimp Tacos with a side of seasonal vegetables (which was grilled zucchini), and I liked the pairing of the shrimp with chorizo as it made the tacos more filling, which is not done often with shrimp tacos. The tacos also came with a very spicy salsa that I just had to take to go because it was soo good. If you want your money's worth, my sister recommended the shrimp fajitas as it comes with the most food and the shrimp was actually good. The service was fast and the waitress was very nice. Great food! I went with my daughter and son in law when we were hungry. We ordered a ton of stuff. Regular Guacamole , salsa and chips, I had the Baja tacos, son had the steak tacos and my daughter had the crunchy Avacado tacos with curly fries and regular fries. I thought I would stop for some lunch. I had just left The Domain. Parking was great. They have a decent size parking lot. As I entered I was greeted immediately. And sat down at a table. The chairs were really comfortable. They felt cushiony/ padded really nicely. My waiter came over and gave me water and took my drink order. I asked for a lemonade. It is my first time here so I needed a minute to look over the menu. They offer breakfast items, which I didn't know they would service breakfast. They seem more of a lunch restaurant. That's a nice surprise. When my waiter came back I told him I would like the fish tacos, with black beans and rice. Didn't take long before my lunch came. Fish tacos were very light. I got 3 fish tacos served on a metal taco holder. The fish was flaky and moist. Really enjoyed the crisp radish and cabbage. The sauce they used was good too. Black beans were good and rice was very fluffy. Loved that I had juicy fresh lime wedges to squeeze over the tacos. I even added some juice to the rice. My whole lunch was delicious. Wow!!! Amazing service, beautiful atmosphere and great vibes overlooking the Quarry Lake! Sit out on the patio and enjoy the view with the delicious steak tacos. So tender, juicy and tons of flavor! Chips and green salsa were out if this world, too! The ribs were a bit dry but I'm sure they'll fix that. House margarita was a bit flat I'd go with a top shelf next time. The menu is large, but there's something for everyone. Salad dressings were delicious and homemade! This restaurant is nestled among the condos, businesses and apartments off of Braker and can be found with ear on GPS and eyes searching for signage. The atmosphere is really great here, although the space is enormous! The area near the bar is large enough to need a few servers. AND that's just a portion of the restaurant. But, even post brunch hour, there were plenty of people to quickly seat and serve us. The server was very attentive and helpful. The food was brought very soon after we ordered....AAAAAAAND.... ....and it seems like I'm rambling without talking food, huh? And I am. The food was decent and tasty. I might even try it again if I lived in the area just to avoid The Domain. But there's the rub...Vida Verde is close to dozens of other other eateries and within a holler of five dozens more. This restaurant's food didn't bring a unique punch for me to make it worth finding again. Im guessing the bar and dinner are Tony the Tiger, big-time Grrreat for the area residents. But with The Arboretum, Domain, Lakeline and 183 corridor offering immensely more unique food? I'll just say it was a pleasant visit. We were shopping for furniture nearby and became hungry and wanted a late lunch. I Yelped Mexican food and the reviews and location of Vida Verde Kitchen seemed like a good match for us. Yelp was right again. The outside looks a bit industrial but the inside was very well laid out and had high end but still whimsical touches. We probably should have sat outside because of the view but it was so nice inside we sat there. The only thing I didn't love about sitting inside was there was a strong odor of cleaning products that would occasionally waft through when the breeze came through. I mean I'm glad the restaurant is clean but it could be a bit strong at times. The service was good. The server was friendly and made sure we had what we needed. Even making recommendations for next time. Okay finally to the food. The menu has a lot of variety. It's not just Mexican food, so I feel like on one hand their are some items that seem random, on the other hand I think anyone could find something to eat here. I had the tamales with rajas with a side of beans and Mexican rice. The masa was really light and fluffy and the filling had a lot of flavor. The Verde sauce pulled all the flavors together and kept the tamales from being dry. And by the way, the portions are huge! Three big tamales with rice and beans. I was able to take home lunch for the next day. For a drink, I took advantage of the everyday happy hour and had a blended house margarita. Really nice flavor, not too sweet at all and that complimented the rest of the meal very well. My husband had the tilapia fajitas. Again very generous portions. Well cooked and seasoned tilapia on a bed of vegetables. He watches his carbs, so he was able to choose a salad as his side. He was very happy with his meal and also took home leftovers. One side note all of the food was mild on the heat scale. Ask for hot sauce if you want more zip. Next time I'll ask if they have a hotter salsa. We were just very hungry so we dug in, as is. I feel like over all this is a fun place to have a meal. The decor and ambiance makes the location feel higher end but the vibes are still casual. The prices seem a little high until you see the massive portions. And special shout out to the free chips and salsa. The tortilla chips seemed freshly made and we're very addictive. We came around 2 pm on saturday and were able to order off the breakfast menu as they made an exception since they typically stop breakfast at 2 pm (Thank you!!) Staff was kind & accommodating to our vegetarian diet. Chips and salsa were complementary on request the salsa had a great flavor and chips were thick and served warm. The skillet had seasoned potatoes which were fried- I wasn't a fan of the potato itself as it kind of classed with the great flavor of sautéed veggies and the egg. I ordered my eggs over hard and they came out more of a medium which is actually what i wanted (some places over medium is way too undercooked so I ordered over hard to be safe) . it was served with a side of toast or pancakes. I opted for pancakes. They weren't that great tasted like a cheap pancake straight out of a box or a frozen pancake in my opinion. The breakfast burrito was OK. I probably wouldn't order it again with the beans and I do something more along the lines of mushrooms. for dessert, we opted to order the strawberry cheesecake crêpes those were delicious. However, they were only partially filled that there was about one to 2 inches on each end of the crêpe that was completely empty no strawberries & no cream cheese filling. would go back and try more on the menu as they did have a wide selection. We stopped by Vida Verde for a Sunday lunch, and it was such a pleasant surprise. The space used to be an old pizza buffet, but it's been completely transformed into a bright, clean, and inviting restaurant with a modern vibe. The ambiance alone sets the tone for a great meal. The menu has a wide variety of options, and I was especially happy to find so many vegetarian-friendly choices. I went with the veggie burger, which was hearty, flavorful, and incredibly filling. The side salad that came with it was so generously portioned it could have been a meal on its own--and with a side of chipotle ranch, it was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend ordered tacos and really enjoyed them. Gosh, I really wanted to like this place. It was a nice space with easy parking and our waiter was super nice. The cocktails were decent but I didn't really like anything else. I got the Vida Paloma and Caipirinha. You get free chips and salsa with purchase. They brought out 4 different flavors and I honestly wasn't a fan of any of them. Then I ordered the chicken tinga tacos and opted for a side salad with vinaigrette (trying to watch calories) but the vinaigrette tasted like plain oil with no flavor. It was bizarre. The tacos didn't have much flavor either and 2 of my tacos had hard chicken pieces that I had to spit out. Overall, not a fan. Nice decor, friendly service, plenty of patio seating, and a ton of potential. My friend thought her Mediterranean quinoa bowl was okay, but felt a bit imbalanced and lacked punch. I went with their namesake salad which was loaded with delicious adobo marinated chicken. I wish the jalapeno ranch was served on the side as stated on the menu, but I'm not someone who loves a lot of dressing. The tortilla chips they served as a free starter were the best I've had in recent memory. I will totally come back for a cold beverage, chips, and guac. Is there such a thing as too expansive a menu? If so, that might be Vida Verde's downfall. First time here. 11:30am Friday. The location was not busy, so I was greeted and seated immediately. The server was also the bar tender. He was super attentive and friendly. I really liked the ambience, it had an Instagram friendly vibe. There is a full bar and plenty of seating. By the time I arrived I was still able to order from the brunch menu. A very hit or miss menu. This restaurant tries to straddle American food and Tex-Mex and doesn't have a clear focus or strength. Some of the tacos were reasonably good but other items like French onion soup and loaded fries were salty and subpar. The house margarita was definitely not great by Texas standards. Ambiance is nice enough but restaurant felt a little too quiet for a Saturday night dinner. On the plus side, service was good. read more

I heard great things about this place and am so glad I gave it a try! The interior is beautiful with lots of faux foliage. The chairs throughout are stylish, but all have a curved back, which might be uncomfortable for those with wide hips. Our server, Angel, was so nice and helpful. He really made our experience great! We had our pick of both the breakfast and lunch/dinner menus. Here's the rundown of the food: Iced tea: I know it's odd to include this in the list, but it was fresh and crisp - definitely don't often get that with restaurant tea. And they gave us canisters at the table for our water and tea, which just makes things so much more convenient. Guacamole: The best I've ever had! So flavorful with many fresh ingredients. The chips are the larger, thicker kind and are super crispy. Delicious! Omelette: Chorizo, onion, peppers, and cheese, and the cheese was present which made it so good! Avocado slices were FRESH! Pancakes (came with omelette meal): we had to close our eyes and have a moment with these. They were unbelievably fluffy, buttery, and sweet without being overwhelmingly so. We've had plenty of pancakes at plenty of places, and these were by far the best ever! Chilaquiles: Chorizo, fried eggs, and cubed breakfast potatoes. Oh my! Verde sauce was nice and tangy. Most chilaquiles include a pretty small portion of chorizo, but they really delivered here. Cubed potatoes were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Fiesta Fajitas: We got these to go for later because we really wanted to try them but were completely stuffed from our meal. These were okay with pretty good flavor. We had both flour and corn tortillas and both were pretty good. It wouldn't be our favorite place for fajitas, but they weren't bad. It doesn't automatically come with rice and beans - you have to pick that as your side dish. We chose street corn instead, which was pretty tasty. We really enjoyed our experience and food and can't wait to come back to try other items on the menu! read more

We happened to see a new restaurant pop up in a space we've seen a few restaurants come and go and after a day in the sun, figured a patio meal would be great whether it was super delicious or not. Let me skip to the end...it was NOT delicious. We ordered apps and drinks and the apps were so bad and the menu SO wrong we bolted and was lucky to find a table next door at The Roaring Fork. Our waiter was friendly and prompt and the space itself was nice enough, but who planned the menu here? It was like a less expansive Chilis menu. We tried to start with a bit of Mexican, figuring it's hard to mess up guacamole and queso fundido but yeesh. The queso fundido had some overcooked meat and so very little cheese we laughingly ordered a second one just so we had enough to share to take the hunger edge off. No smooth, stretchy, bubbly deliciousness...it was awful. And if customers order "market price" guacamole and two queso fundidos...for the love of god, bring out a salsa. Nope, we needed to order SALSA as a separate appetizer. The menu was so odd - like the restaurant didn't know what it was going for so just threw a little bit of everything on there. A couple of sandwhiches, caprese salad...Mediterranean quinoa...bandito fries? A whole specialty fries menu? If the drinks had been good and the food fresh and tasty, we would have stayed, even if the menu was weird.
