Newer and a welcomed addition to the area....Me Gusta is Gaudy with its Purple vibe, but we liked it....Service was just OK ....phone distractions were obvious....Started with the usual suspects...Queso, Salas and Chips...Salsa had a nice kick, Chips crisp and fresh...Queso was no more than canned Cheese not Queso....just OK, but a few scoops of salsa helped...Wife went with the Ground Beef Enchiladas with Red Sauce and double rice...Sauce had a great flavor, Meat seasoned well and the rice was light, fluffy, and was pretty dang good....I had the Chicken Enchilada with a Poblano Sauce....which is extremely rare to find...Excellent flavor...Chicken Tender and seasoned perfectly...Beans were on point...Rice good...They have some unique sauces, but was disappointed that 2 were not available...both spicy, something I truly enjoy. Have a few other menu items including breakfast we would like to try.

Al pastor taco's on homemade purple corn tortillas

Wow.... EAT HERE, and thank me later. Best Al pastor tacos I have ever had in my life. Fluffy PURPLE corn tortillas! Husband loved the beef fajitas, kid loved the quesadillas which was 1/2 inch thick! Just found my new spot. Also amazing drink selection, beautiful presentation as well. Hands down the best service I have had in I don't know when. Can't wait to go back!!

This place has been open for about 3 months and at this point there's only seven reviews, but they lack some specifics. Inside you'll find a colorful interior with a glazed purple floor, 4 tables and 5 booths to sit at and another 10 seats at the bar. They have a really nice full bar, a couple of beers on draft, but no local craft beer. Where they shine is their numerous drink concoctions from the bar and their spicy red sauce. They do have a happy hour 3 to 6 M-F which is $3.50 for beer only. One unique item you'll find here is something they call the bassucazo which holds 88 ounces of beer that you can dispense at your table. Their food menus are featured under glass at your table, but you'll need to ask for the bar menu. After ordering a couple of drinks, I decided on the beef burrito and my wife had the chicken nachos. I subbed the refried beans for Charro, however, I had mixed feelings about the burrito. It was fairly flavorful, but it was made with finely chopped and somewhat tough overcooked meat surrounded by too much rice. The chicken nachos sat on a bed of thick deep fried chips which were unlike the complimentary ones. My wife liked the fact they incorporated lots of veggies into the nachos, but did not care for the chips beneath so she ordered a side of corn tortillas ($2) which for some reason are colored light purple with food coloring, so we were told. This place has a lot of things going for it such as a small stage at the back where occasionally they have mariachis playing, and they are open late to 1 a.m. on Saturday. I'd rate the food we were served at around three stars, but the service, drinks and ambience is closer to four stars. When it's time to settle up, they'll bring around the handheld device for your credit card with the predetermined tips or pay the QR code on the bill. If and when we return again, we will probably focus our attention more on the seafood side of the menu since that seems to be their strong suit. Plenty of parking and nice bathrooms. Check out our bill and the informative video and photos. 31/2*

Service was amazing. Food was very good. Didn't get a picture of my husband's burrito but all was very good. Highly recommend the fresh juices. They do have a full bar for those that drink. Hope to come back as the drive from Robinson is a long one

    Strawberry margarita and pina colada

This was one of the best experiences I've had in months! The pina colada & the mango margarita were our favorites. I definitely recommend coming to Me Gusta in Austin for an authentic Mexican experience. If you go, make sure to get the pastor tacos! They are top 10 in Austin ! Our server Carlis was amazing. The detail she put into the drinks really shows.

Me Gusta is a great choice is you want to have great authentic Central American meals, with a fantastic ambiance and good music as a soundtrack. The service is excellent, attentive and it feels like home. Just be careful when checking the menu, you will want to order all!

Does not look like much from outside - quick service but very nice place - fun ambiance - good food - will come again.

And, at both breakfasts Amy made me feel especially welcome! The table came with a bottle of water for self-service, which I appreciated. The wine list was of good quality. My server at dinner was able to give me a solid recommendation for one to pair with my salmon. She was dead on with how well it complimented the fish. As for the salmon, it wasn't overly seasoned and was incredibly flaky. It was a good size as well. For breakfast, The Breakfast Plate's eggs were cooked perfectly with appropriately cooked bacon. I enjoyed the potatoes that accompanied it as well. The Buttermilk Pancakes meal was a failure though. The pancakes were gooey inside. My server, Amy, offered to have them remade, but I declined the offer. So I accepted a parfait, which was easily one of the best I've had in Austin. The granola with the berries were perfectly balanced, and the granola wasn't super chunky. Amy was 100% invested in my meal satisfaction. The dining room is quite pretty with lovely set tables. Every time I ate, I felt a tad underdressed! But they don't care if you're comfortably casual, and i saw a family with small children looking very relaxed and vacationy and they were welcome.

That's because we later realized that it was actually the Cambria Hotel's in-building restaurant. We also realized we didn't need reservations, since we and one other family were the only ones dining in for Sunday brunch. The woman who attended to us was very friendly and accommodating. I was able to get a flavorful cappuccino and eggs benedict made vegetarian friendly. The Hollandaise sauce was swapped out for queso, which was a fun twist! All-in-all, a great brunch was had by all. The food was not the best we'd ever had in regards to other brunch places, but knowing that crowds are not a problem here makes this a great back-up spot if the other brunch places in town are backed up!

Located off Anderson Mill in the corner of a strip mall is a bookshelf with a door on the right side. If you cannot figure out the entrance, there is a doorbell to ring as well. I believe it is owned by the same people who own The Mill bar right next door, which makes it feel like a cool bonus space. My friend and I sat next to a faux fireplace, where we were greeted by the only bartender working and placed our order. Once he opened the tab, it was disappointing that he never came back to check if we wanted another drink. It wasn't super busy on the Monday we went, but since he was the only one manning the bar, the bartender was always doing something, so I don't blame him fully for not checking back in with us. I ordered a drink called the Velvet Vice. It looked nothing like the picture and tasted similar to an Aviation cocktail with egg whites. I happened to really like it. It is a very relaxed space, but once the speakeasy gimmick wears off, it does not have much else going for it. It is still a cool place, but I am not sure it was worth the lengthy drive to get there. Dropped in to kill some time and grab a bite to eat... and left super impressed yet again! The vibe here is perfectly laid-back....chill atmosphere, no pretension, just a spot to relax with great drinks and food. Shoutout to the beer master Eric behind the bar! He's incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about what he pours. He shared this awesome line that stuck with me: "Every good beer has a story, and the story should be told!" Made the whole experience feel more personal. I went with tap #13, Juicy Fish--a hazy IPA from WeldWerks Brewing Co. at 8.6% ABV. Wow, what a juicy, flavorful beast! Packed with tropical hops, smooth, and dangerously easy to drink for that ABV. Definitely hit the spot. For food, I had 5 wings tossed in the Blazin Ghost Pepper sauce. It's described as a smoky blend with mild ghost pepper heat, and it delivered exactly that....great smokiness upfront, building warmth without incinerating your mouth (perfect if you like heat but not torture level). Wings were crispy, juicy, and tender too. Rounded it out with the Carnivore pizza, loaded with meats and just the right amount of char on the crust. Hand stretched and fresh, it paired really well with the beer. If you're in the Pflugerville area and love craft beer (especially with knowledgeable staff who actually talk about it), wings, or pizza, this place is a winner. Will definitely be back again and again to catch more of the rotating taps and hear more stories from Eric! Get em while you can. They are Beer today gone tomorrow.
