Side salad - very fresh with homemade dressing options

I've been to this location a few times and the others as well but this one's closest to me in my honey so we have dinner there last night. Service was Stellar we got in really quickly even though it was very busy and were taking care of right away once we sat down. My partner's been coming here for years and he always gets the exact same thing which is the 10 piece shrimp basket with fries and a salad I on the other hand absolutely adore the Thai food as well as the Cajun & seafood items. Both are executed well. I LOVE the calamari salad with glass noodles. They had a special lumping style wggeoll appetizer I had to try. Fabulous! This is a staple in out repertoire.

Great food! Good flavor and not too spicy. I had the oysters and the etouffe. Both delicious! My daughter had the crawfish and she loved them. Our server worked with us and came back often to ensure we were not wanting anything. The Ambiance was okay. There is indoor and outdoor seating. They are even ready for Christmas with there tree already up, or maybe not taken down. All tge same a good time.

This restaurant is located at Frontera next to the Salvation Army store. It is family friendly. It's typically packed and the staff is all friendly. It's a casual environment with dressing. Great place to watch sports as they have many TVs. The crawfish is available during season time you can tell them how spicy you want it or what add-ons you want to add to it. It's à la carte.. during the week they close at nine they are not open on Monday. Friday Saturday Sunday. They're open until 10 PM. Typically they close at 9 AM on other days.

Only reviewing my order. Garlic shrimp - the sauce alone is worth it all! Shrimp size is NOT shrimpy. Delicious. I'd totally remove any cilantro in the rice. Not a fan.

My sister told me to do a pick up order for her and they told me it was $154.80. They gave me the food and there was a receipt attached with the total for $141.71 with tax included. I tipped in cash too!!! So I called them to ask why was I charged an extra 10 percent. They said it is 10 percent gratuity. Why didn't they mention this when my sister ordered or when I paid and gave them cash tip!! Will not be coming back anymore and will let friends and family know.

This was a enjoyable journey for us... My husband and I found ourselves up in Austin for the day so we decided to go on a little adventure as this isn't exactly "in Austin", but more suburbia. He had worked in the area several times over the years and discovered Deckhand since his construction crew were staying at a hotel nearby. He kept telling me how much he enjoyed his meals there and wanted to share the experience with me. We had the Shrimp Diablo, broiled oyster sampler, and fried banana with ice cream. The menu is extensive with a wide variety. The family history of own gulf fishing boats is cool too. If you find yourself in the area, why not give Deckhand a try.

Went here to watch the first NFL game of the season. They had lots of TVs and the vibe was up. Our waitress was 10/10 very friendly and good at her job. The hostess was maybe having a bad day but the waitress made up for it heavy. We ordered the 3 pc catfish which came with fries and the spicy thai basil stir fry with pork and fried pickles. We also ordered some Fried pickles: 3/5 just average nothing special. They are spears which makes more room to be soggy but it wasn't overly salty which I appreciate. Catfish: 2/5 the fish had no seasoning and the fries tasted frozen and stale. Best part was the hush puppies. Spicy thai basil stirfry: actually solid spice but a little too salty and not enough rice for me. The egg was cooked nicely though. Service and vibe: 5/5 I would consider coming back here for a game but maybe would consider some other places too.

The oysters were good overall, though a few were a bit too salty. Some were topped with cheese and green onions, while another set came with tomatoes and cheese. Nice variety in toppings, though flavors could've been more balanced. The pad se ew a bit on too salty for me, but the noodle texture was good chewy and cooked just right. Tho, I don't recommend. The stir fry has a nice basil flavor to it. The sauce is similar to a sweet soy.

I ordered crawfish, because yes it's the season!! And added potatoes and sausages, OMG, they were so good (ofc regular) because I can't do spicy. We also ordered fried and fresh oysters and they were a huge success in our table. You gotta TRY this restaurant out

Came in today for table of 2 aroudn 530pm. We were sat immediately and the waitress came over shorty after. I was craving crawfish and shrimp and well as my go tos, the spring rolls and Salt&pepper calamari! Everything was Cooke perfectly except the potatoes , they were over boiled and water logged. Flavor of everything else was delicious as expected however the crawfish and shrimp we ordered "spicy"and it was more on the mild side but flavor was amazing I didn't miss the spice much!

Good vibes , good drinks and nice waitstaff. They always have some good music bumpin and I like sitting out on the patio in this beautiful weather here lately. I have been here a couple times but my absolute favorites are * Calamari * Salmon Roll * Pad thai * crawfish if thats your jam Alot of the dishes have the cold cucumber salad which is very refreshing Definitely must try, good place to hang out too.

First time visiting and service was cool the environment was nice, happy people enjoying food. In my opinion the food was a NO GO! Everything I ordered was unseasoned, no touch of soul was added at any point. Oyster's was decent I give it a 5 . My waitress was kind and helpful. Don't recommend if you like, love seasoned food!

    Mango Sticky Rice

Located right next to a highway, Deckhand Oyster Bar is always very busy and lively with many customers, especially during dinner hours. However, this did not deter us from going, and we were not disappointed! With my family, we ordered the Salt and Pepper Special (Calamari Shrimp Combo), the Shellfish Oyster Raw, 1 DZ and 1/2 Dz, 2 Tom Yum Seafood Soup bowls, the Deckhand Seafood Noodle Soup, and a Thai Mango Sticky Rice for dessert. We enjoyed everything: the salt and pepper special was nice and crispy, and the oyster plate was incredible in how fresh they were. They even gave us 2 extra oysters, which we really appreciated! The Tom Yum soup bowls came out to be smaller than we expected, but we didn't mind as it sufficed for our appetite and was very delicious. The broth by itself was a bit too salty for our liking, though. This also goes for the seafood noodle soup. Needless to say, my favorite of the night by far was definitely the Thai Mango Sticky Rice. As shown below, the plating was just plain adorable, and you can really feel the love in the way the mango was intricately sliced! We just thought it was a bit heavy on the sweetness of the rice, but loved it nonetheless. All in all, Deckhand's food is well worth its price, though they can be heavy handed on the flavoring (but if you're someone that likes boldness, then it's not a problem by any means). Service was very accommodating given the number of customers they were juggling, but could have been more careful when handling our order, especially our drinks. Will definitely consider returning when I'm in town again; those oysters are unforgettable!

Best seafood, oysters, and gumbo! Great place to celebrate or just have a nice dinner and drink at the bar.

The service is top tier! The staff comes by to make sure you're good constantly so you never go long waiting for refills or to get some attention for an issue. The vibe is great, TVs on & the place is always clean. I read a review complaining about the napkins & buckets that's STUPID af. Don't come to a seafood place if tha bothers you. I love that they had the whole roll of brown paper towels so we don't have to keep asking. The buckets are super helpful to clear out the soft shells of the shrimp instead of piling on a plate. The FLAVOR is ALWAYS ON POINT!!! We even tried the other location but the Round Rock location beats it! We always go for date night. It's much lower priced than @Boiling Crab & taste 100x better than their soggy shrimp! Hook & Reel is just a hard pass... it's not flavorful. LA Crawfish is not good & Krab Kings is overpriced for mid food. I make my own seafood boils & ppl would rather buy from me than go to the other locations. Surfin Crab is the only one who beats me! Most times I can't even get a pic because we dive in! Oooh & food is always fast!

I walked into Surfing Crab hoping for one of those unapologetically messy seafood boils -- the kind…read morewhere you're tying your hair back, rolling up your sleeves, and mentally preparing to smell like garlic butter for the rest of the day. Sadly... this wasn't that experience. I ordered the boil with a pound of crab, head‑on shrimp, squid, corn, and those thin little sausage slices you see at most Cajun spots. The seasoning landed squarely in the middle -- not offensive, not impressive, just sitting there like it was waiting for someone to give it direction. I asked for hot, but what I got tasted more like a medium that didn't want to commit. And the shrimp? Head‑on and not deveined. That gave them a gamy, muddy undertone that took away from the whole boil. At this price point, deveining shouldn't be a luxury add‑on. We also tried the appetizer sampler -- calamari, egg rolls, cheese sticks -- and everything tasted suspiciously similar, like it all took the same little swim in the same fryer without a break. Nothing was terrible, but nothing had personality. These were the kind of appetizers you can find anywhere, and not the kind you remember later. My partner ordered the shrimp po'boy, and while the portion was generous, the breading overwhelmed the shrimp. He ended up peeling most of it off just to get to the actual protein. When the breading becomes the main character, that's a sign the dish needs editing. Now, the mixed drinks? Those were actually good -- balanced, not overly sweet, and honestly the highlight of the meal. And I have to give credit where it's due: our waitress was attentive, friendly, and checked on us consistently without hovering. She did everything right. The food just didn't match her level of service. And look... I'm not trying to be dramatic, but I've had better crab at HEB during crawfish season for a fraction of the price. When your grocery‑store boil is hitting harder than the restaurant version, that's saying something. Overall, Surfing Crab wasn't a disaster, but it wasn't memorable either. For the price and the concept, I expected more depth, more spice, and more care in the prep. This one's a pass for me -- especially when I know I can get fresher, better‑seasoned seafood elsewhere without the premium price tag.
