Word of mouth brought us here, and we weren't disappointed. The breakfast tacos were large and filled well with eggs and my requested vegetables. The tortillas were very soft. The beef tacos had crunchy shells, well flavored beef, and a generous portion of cheese, as requested. The salsa had a nice burn, and the chips were tasty. Service was solid. Our server didn't hover, but our drinks remained full.

Number 1 - chile relleno and enchilada

I was pleasantly surprised by this place but honestly the best places are a surprise. I loved the chile relleno. Perfection. Light on the batter so you could taste chile and not just the batter. The rice was unimpressive but the beans were good! Servers were so friendly too!

The two of us came here because of their very good reviews, and the fact that they have a happy hour from 3-7, which we couldn't pass up. Just understand that happy hour means one dollar off the drink. Inside there is at least 15 tables to sit at along with 5 two person booths. They start you off with their complementary chips and freshly made salsa which has a nice kick to it. They do have three beers on tap along with frozen margaritas, but not much in the way of craft beer. I decided on the large frozen margarita, and I have to admit it definitely had a kick. I decided on a beef fajita burrito, which was a perfect Tex-Mex experience. My guest polished off every single one of her black bean and cheese nachos. I have to admit this place gives Chuy's and Baby A's a run for the money. Definitely a place I'd come back to. Informative photos included.

We dined in for dinner on a Saturday evening. Service was great! Our server was attentive and provided a pleasant experience for me and my partner. It's a very laid back eatery. Food itself was good but I can't give them my stamp for best enchiladas, I felt the meat and sauce could still use more vibrant flavors. We also got fajitas chicken quesadillas and the fried ice cream which I really enjoyed. I am curious about their breakfast options so I may return but try something different.

Ramos is my FAVORITE place to go for Tex-Mex! They have unbeatable prices, delicious food, sizable portions, and fantastic hospitality... what's not to love?! FAST FACTS: * Parking: located in a shopping center so there's plenty of parking available in the lot in front of the building * Online ordering: available for pickup at the restaurant * Delivery: available through third-party * Complimentary chips and salsa are served as soon as you sit down * They serve all-day breakfast! SERVICE - I've been to Ramos at least a dozen times and have always had amazing service! Even when they're busy, the servers constantly make sure you have drinks, chips, and everything else you need. The workers are friendly, accommodating, and make you feel like family. It makes a great food experience that much better! PRICING - Incredibly reasonable for the amount of food you get! The total for a large queso compuesto, combination #2 plate, combination #3 plate, Chipotle shrimp plate, and flan was $62.21 after tax and the portion sizes are HUGE! CHIPS AND SALSA (9/10) - Come prepared to eat your body weight in chips because they're that good! These are served complimentary when you sit down and they'll keep bringing them to you if you ask!The chips are the perfect thickness (no one likes a thin chip that breaks the second you dip it in salsa) and have a nice amount of salt. They're crispy and addictive in the best way! They are served with a red salsa and a jalapeño ranch... both of which are delicious with a slight kick! QUESO COMPUESTO (10/10) - It's a big bowl of cheese with pico, guac, and ground beef... aka it's amazing! I get this every time and always recommend it to others. If any of your entrees come with rice, pour some of this on top and thank me later! COMBINATION #2 (10/10) - This is always my go-to because you get to try so many different things! You get 2 cheese enchiladas with tex-mex sauce, 2 chicken flautas, one soft or crispy taco, and sour cream. It also comes with rice and your choice of beans and everything is delicious! COMBINATION #3 (9/10) - This one is for the enchilada lovers! Each enchilada has a different filling and is topped with a different sauce so it's a flavor explosion! This also comes with rice and your choice of beans. CHIPOTLE SHRIMP PLATE (10/10) - This is almost like a fajita on a plate (which is obviously a compliment). The shrimp are a good size and are tossed with the onion, bell peppers, and chipotles in adobo sauce which pack that delicious sweet and smoky flavor with a little heat. It's served over rice with a side of beans, lettuce, pico, and fresh avocado. This was my first time ordering this dish and I'll definitely get it again! HOMEMADE FLAN (9/10) - Yum! It's super sweet and decadent while also being light at the same time. It's a great sweet end to an already tasty meal! Ramos is one of the best kept secrets in North Austin! Be prepared... once you visit once, it will be the only place you want to visit for Tex-Mex!

My MIL brought my husband and I here for breakfast Sunday morning. Everything was amazing! Their chips and salsa and creamy jalapeño remind me of chews which was fabulous. My only drawback was it was $50 plus tip for three people to eat on a Sunday morning.

    Chile Con Queso
    Vanessa G.

I ordered this on DoorDash & it was really good! It was still crispy and fresh when it arrived at my house. The flavor was good and on point with everything. I can't wait to come sit in person & try it out. The Chili con Queso was my favorite

Yay!!! I have finally found a tex mex spot in north Austin that does it right! Cheese enchiladas were on point! I haven't had enchiladas in over 7 months and these were definitely worth the extra calories. Also, I learned they have breakfast all day! Which is great for people like me that want a huevos ranchero plate at 2:16pm We also tried the house Mexican martini. It definitely packed a punch! The service was great! Our food came out so fast and piping hot! I will definitely circle back by to try the breakfast menu items along with one of the many varieties of blended margaritas!

So far these chips are so good

The food and service is really good. They almost did not honor the 15 percent discount offered on Yelp when i went up to pay, so careful if you expect a discount and dont get it. They did give it to me after I explained what it was for, but said they didn't know anything about it and would only do the discount this one time.

As the sign says, "No Ticket, No Taco!" so don't lose it. Seating is limited and the line can get long, but they move fast. And don't come expecting cheese or sour cream -- the only add‑ons here are cilantro, onions, salsa, and guacamole. It's a stripped‑down menu, and they stick to it. The tacos are solid. The beef isn't anything remarkable, but the chicken is tender, moist, and genuinely flavorful. The quesadilla is the sleeper hit; the baked cheese gives it a deep, savory punch that outshines the tacos. And if you're hungry or just want the best value, the burritos are enormous -- stuffed right up to the tortilla's structural limit. For our entrées, we had Brian's Alambre Plate, the Chicken Mole, and the Line Cook's Snack Plate. Brian's Alambre Plate combines sirloin, pork pastor, house-made chorizo, and bacon with peppers, onions, and melted Jack cheese. It was good and certainly offers plenty of variety and flavor. For my personal taste, though, if I am primarily craving meat, I prefer Eldorado's Carne Guisada. There is nothing wrong with the Alambre, I just think the Carne Guisada is the stronger choice for me. The Chicken Mole is my wife's favorite, and unfortunately it is only offered as a special late on Thursdays. The house-made mole has a rich, distinctive flavor that works very well with the chicken, and it is easy to understand why she looks forward to it. The Line Cook's Snack Plate was also a great combination with two flautas, a choice of Chicken Caldo or Texas Red, Eldorado rice, and guacamole salad. It is a nice option when you want a little bit of several things rather than one large entrée. Overall, another very enjoyable meal at Eldorado Cafe. Good food, plenty of variety, and enough different flavors on the menu that everyone can find a favorite. We certainly have ours!

We also got the Friday night special Saudero taco on the HOMEMADE buttery delicious flour tortilla. Again the steak pieces in there were fantastic. The regular picadillo crispy taco was probably the best I've ever had. Homemade deep fried thick shells. Margaritas were expensive and small, but done RIGHT. Sam made them by hand not from a mix. It's a good balance because the food is FAIRLY PRICED!!! I am completely spoiled now and probably will just come here from now on. Next it's time to taste those great looking enchiladas!!!

Somehow I'd never been despite living so close, so I was excited to finally check it off my list. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, and their famous foyer is just as pretty in person as everyone says. I came with a friend, and we grabbed seats at the bar first while waiting, but I definitely recommend making reservations because this place is BUSY, even on a weeknight. Parking can also be a bit of a struggle since they have a pretty small lot. I had to make a few laps before I finally found a spot, so definitely give yourself a little extra time. They do offer valet, and I believe you may also be able to park in the lot next door after hours since it's their sister restaurant, but don't quote me on that haha. Their margaritas are also really good and definitely on the stronger side, so they were a great way to start the meal. The staff here was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout the night. They even walked us to our table and later showed me where the bathroom was, which I thought was a really nice touch. As for the food, it definitely lives up to the hype. It's on the pricier side, but everything tasted incredibly fresh and was well worth it. We ordered the enchiladas, which were delicious, and the shrimp was probably my favorite part of the meal because it was so fresh and perfectly cooked. I can definitely see why this restaurant has been around for so long and has such a loyal following. It took me way too long to finally come here, but I'll definitely be back. One thing I'm noticing as we do these is that you often write reviews that are genuinely useful--not just "food good/bad." You include things like reservations, parking, what to order, or where to sit. I think we should keep leaning into that because it feels very authentic to your style and makes your reviews stand out.
