    Fries nubs
    Alan H.

I have been wanting to to try True Foods for quite some time. I love this mission to provide healthy foods: grass fed, pasteurized meats, non-GMO and no seeds oil. However, my experience was terrible, waitress could care less about her job, food took over 35 minutes and the temp on the burger was well instead of requested medium rare! I waited so long I was starving and didn't care to send it back, the manager did comp the burger but it was a wasted time and a terrible experience. Also, my fries were composed of little nubs! Decor was okay had some cheesy wallpaper but nothing special. So sad that I had high expectations of this place. Maybe I'll give another location a try...

Cup of roasted butternut squash soup ($4)

True Food Kitchen is a super reliable chain spot for healthy and wholesome options for lunch or dinner! They have great menu choices with unique flavors and large portion sizes. But, you definitely pay a premium because it's marketed toward health-conscious individuals with a lot of organic ingredients, allergen-friendly, options, etc. That may or may not be worth it for you but the food is tasty! FAST FACTS: * Parking - plenty of free lots and garages within walking distance around the Domain * Reservations - available online through OpenTable * Online ordering - pick up, curbside, and delivery available online through their website * Indoor and outdoor seating options * Nutrition and allergen information available online on their website * Seasonal offerings PRICING - The total was $64.30 after tax ($4.90) but before tip for a small butternut squash soup ($4.00), spaghetti squash casserole ($16.50), spicy panang curry bowl ($18.95) with added shrimp ($7.95), side of air-fried French fries ($6.00), and side of honey roasted carrots ($6.00) . I think the pricing is a little high but the portion sizes are generous and the food quality is good. SERVICE - We visited around 8:45 pm on a Saturday night and they weren't busy so we were seated right away. We were given the choice of indoor or outdoor seating. Our server, Alan, took our order quickly and food came out at a nice pace. No complaints! ROASTED BUTTERNUT SQUASH SOUP (7/10) - This was a seasonal offering. I thought it had good flavor overall. You can remove the sage garnish if you aren't a fan. I'd order this again if I was in the mood for soup but it isn't a must-try. SPICY PANANG CURRY BOWL (8/10) - You have to pay extra if you want to add a protein (chicken, steak, shrimp, salmon, or tofu) so it gets quite experience quickly but it is a massive portion! It cost $7.95 to add shrimp but you get a ton! There's definitely enough for leftovers. The Thai shellfish curry broth is packed with flavor and you get a generous amount of the veggies... the rice and sweet potato especially make it very filling. I'd order this again! SPAGHETTI SQUASH CASSEROLE (10/10) - I know it isn't for everyone but as someone who tracks macros, I LOVE ordering this dish because it's a massive portion size and fills me up! You can add protein to it if you want to bulk it up even more but I am usually satisfied the way it comes. The tomato sauce is flavorful, the texture of the spaghetti squash is spot-on, and there's a generous amount of melted cheese on top. I'd order this again! TRUE CRISP'D AIR-FRIED FRENCH FRIES (5/10) - We ordered these mostly to see how the air fried texture was... they were fine but nothing too special. I think $6 for a side of French fries is expensive. I wouldn't order these again HONEY ROASTED CARROTS (6/10) - Flavor and texture? Both great... the caramelized honey pairs perfectly with the natural sweetness of the carrot and they were soft without being mushy. I just think $6 for the amount of carrots you get is expensive. I wouldn't order these again. True Food Kitchen is one of those places where you pay a premium for the quality of ingredients (a lot of organic) but it might be worth it for you if you are health-conscious. It is expensive but the portion sizes for the entree live up to the cost while the sides may be worth skipping.

Lots of healthy food options on the menu. The protein content for each dish is also mentioned for each dish. Some of the flavor profiles like butternut squash/ricotta on sourdough pizza crust are interesting. Goodcocktails and coffee as well. Service is attentive and quick.

My second time visiting this restaurant and it gets a perfect score from me. We were seated immediately. Everything is so clean. Our waiter Hatom, was so awesome. Food and wine were all really tasty. Bravo to them! Bonus points for being a part of the inkind program.

I used to love this place , I could come in any day at any time and the food was great and the service was outstanding. Not anymore. The food has been made mainstream and more like every other restaurant and less health based. The focus has shifted to appeal to a broader base of people yet it's driving people away. Many friends and family tell me they avoid coming here for the same reason I have avoided coming here as often. Air fried French fries that taste like microwave fries from the frozen section , sweet potato chips instead of roasted sweet potato hash and that's just the beginning of a list of changes that have taken the whole concept of this place away from its original purpose. Nothing is consistent the staff on Tuesday night February 3 2026 where more interested in talking at the bar than anything else. Even the expo guy came out of the kitchen and was just chatting up the hostess who wasn't even at her station up front when we arrived cause she was previously talking to the bar tender before the expo guy and couldn't be bothered. When we were seated our waitress didn't even greet our table for 15 min no exaggeration. I really wish I was because it was just a nail in the coffin for us not wanting to come back. Our waitress took our appetizer order and I ordered one drink out of the 5 of us who all got water and had to ask if my drink was ever going to come which ended up coming with our food. Again everyone was busy talking at the bar with other staff but zero customers around the bar to justify the whole staff minus the cooks just hanging out all together for long periods not serving anyone or refilling drinks. I mean if you can't ask for refills the company can't sell more drinks same with food or dessert. Look I get people get brakes I get the staff can chat I get nobody is perfect and the service industry is relentless but this was pure lack of care and laziness like whoever was the manager or in charge was out or something and everyone took advantage of it and slacked off without an afterthought on how it would affect the company as a whole. I'm one person you can pretend it was just my experience and I'm just grump or whatever you want in the end it will be hard to hide when more people write similar reviews or complain directly anyway. My daughter's pizza was beyond burnt on the bottom and was terribly bitter. We asked for it to be replaced and it didn't come out till all the rest of us were basically done eating. The quickest most responsive service of the whole dinner was being asked if we wanted our check and was promptly brought over. Then asked over and over if we were ready to pay , like damn I wish we had that kind of attention for our whole meal we don't even get refills once. The response to wanting us to hurry and pay and leave was faster than any of our initial waters had been brought to the table faster than being greeted by the hostess faster than our orders where taken or anything else , you get the point. The amount of lack of care in this place is sad because we used to know everyone by name and come quite often at one point this place was our favorite restaurant. All the changes all the bad service and all the people we loved are all gone. I'm predicting unless a miracle happens this location won't be around in 3-5 years at this rate. I don't think we will be back it will take a lot to want to come back. Sadly non of the slacker staff members will be here that long anyway so they don't care if they ruin this places image or not.

I am so impressed with the ingredient standards at True Food Kitchen! Knowing the entire menu is seed oil-free makes dining out so much better. Their brunch is top-tier,the blueberry pancakes are incredibly flavorful and hit the spot every time. For a drink, the horchata matcha is a standout; it's a unique pairing that is surprisingly delicious. Highly recommend this spot at The Domain for anyone looking for nutrient-dense food that actually tastes amazing.

Stopped in for a quick bite while in the area. the avacado toast was good, both of us ordered it a little different, his toast was was larger then mine however both were thick and plenty of food. the dressing on the greens was maybe a honey mustard vinaigrette, it was good to top each bite of toast. the chili oil was a nice touch. Our server san miguel was kind, and on point- didn't miss a chance to make sure we were satisfied . plenty of tables both inside and out. modern decor and lighting, with plenty of color and art work through out. the blueberry pancake was not our fav- had an odd savory taste that just wasn't for us. would come back however not a large vegatarian selection overall here .

Did date night at True Food Kitchen with my girlfriend. We love this domain locations ambiance and variety of healthy, delicious food + drinks. The matcha drinks here are some of the best in town! On this visit we did the "dinner duo" which allows you a choice of appetizer to share, one entree each, and a dessert for $50. While there were a good number of entree choices, a few of them had upcharges if selected. What's the point of including those on the dinner duo menu? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense. We ordered the guacamole to share as the appetizer. For mains, I ordered the poke bowl and my girlfriend ordered the margherita pizza with pepperoni added. They only have one choice of dessert as part of the dinner duo - a flourless chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. The food was overall very good, but it would've been nice to have at least two dessert options to choose from. When we got the check, we noticed it was way higher than expected because of the upcharges put in incorrectly. Thankfully we did the math and pointed it out to our server, who after a little confusion fixed it. Service was overall OK, but had we not caught this would've paid $15 more than we should have.

Chinease chicken salad and prickly pear refresher

We stopped in here for a late lunch one afternoon. It was almost 3 o'clock so they were wrapping up for the day for their dinner service but we are able to get lunch. We were seated right away. The location is very bright very spacious and the service is exceptional. Our server was absolutely adorable and so sweet and so was the young lady that she was training. The cheeseburger was OK - the concept around this restaurant is that they focus on fresh food and healthy ways of cooking. All the french fries are air fryer cooked. Unfortunately, the ones that my husband got basically tasted like they had been at the bottom of the fryer basket. That maybe because they were getting close to closing. He said the burger was OK. You did have some flavor but overall just didn't hit what he was looking for, but served the purpose of having food in the stomach. I got the Chinese chicken salad, which I found to be the perfect size portion wasn't huge, but it was enough to fill me up. It is definitely high in the ginger flavor categories so if you have any concerns on that, I would make sure that you tell your server. I really enjoyed it though. I also got the prickly pear refresher - it was very tart, but it was a nice change from water.

Seasonal salad with grilled chicken and grass-fed burger.

My first time at this True Food location. It was pretty dead for a Saturday night and we were seated right away. It was freezing inside the restaurant so we opted to sit outside since the weather was beautiful. Unfortunately it rained the day before and the seat cushions were soaked! I ordered the seasonal market salad which was a bed of mixed greens, dates, roasted carrots and cauliflower, crumbled feta, pistachios, and dressed in a creamy apple tahini vinaigrette. I added a side of grilled chicken. The salad was light and refreshing but quite filling. I wish I skipped the chicken--it was extremely dry. My husband enjoyed the grass fed burger. He shared his fries with me and they were delicious, especially the house-made peri peri ketchup!

Came here for lunch on a Monday and the place wasn't busy. I got an ancient grain bowl with salmon and my friend got the spicy penang curry with tofu. Both of us enjoyed our meal. Service was on-point, our server checked on us regularly without being overbearing. The only minus was there's a construction next door, which made it a bit noisy while dining outside. However, this isn't the restaurant's fault so I didn't ding them because of it.

We had our first experience with TFK in the Domain for luncheon and it was heavenly! Our waitress, Tamara, had a bright smile and perfect timing. The atmosphere is lovely, the food exceptional (no seed oils, Dr. Weir) and I can only imagine it more magical at night.

Food was great once we got it, but our server and the kitchen definitely had an off day. He forgot a drink we ordered so that didn't come out for another 15-20 minutes. Food took over 30 minutes and we only ordered 2 burgers and fries. Other than that, loved the vibes: bright, open and airy

From the moment we sat down, the service set a phenomenal tone for the meal. Our server, Avery, genuinely took the time to ask what we were interested in, thoughtfully guiding us through the menu with recommendations that were, frankly, unbelievable. Every single suggestion was spot-on. As for the food, every dish that arrived at the table was a masterpiece: The Brunch Plate: A beautifully classic, elevated breakfast. The sunny-side-up eggs were cooked to absolute perfection, seasoned with a light touch of pepper and spice. Paired with perfectly golden, crispy hash browns, savory sausage, thick-cut toast, and a rich fruit compote, it was a flawless, hearty start to the day. The Beet & Citrus Salad: A vibrant, refreshing standout. The earthy depth of roasted red and golden beets paired wonderfully with bright, juicy citrus segments, creamy crumbled cheese, and fresh greens. It was beautifully balanced, incredibly fresh, and a perfect contrast of textures. The Pesto Pasta: Absolutely spectacular. The pasta shape held onto the rich, flavorful pesto sauce perfectly, which was tossed with fresh spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, and tender chicken, all finished with a generous dusting of parmesan. It was savory, comforting, and packed with bright, fresh flavor. Between the flawless, attentive service and the phenomenal quality of the kitchen, they made this Father's Day incredibly memorable. We will absolutely be back!

What went well? EVERYTHING. TL;DR, come here…read more The pleasant young lady who took my last-minute reservation over the phone was quite helpful. Our server, Sarah, was the absolute best. Warm, engaging, knowledgeable. She thoughtfully considered my preferences and offered a few irresistible options, She got the chef to weigh-in on a drink pairing I was debating. I chose from the daily specials menu: Veracruz snapper and a sauvignon blanc. Finished with the most luxurious chocolate torte and an espresso for dessert. It was a flawless meal. What a perfectly delightful hour and a half spent with my daughter in a gorgeous space, with beautiful food, and sunset-over-the-water views. At the end of a busy day, where do you wanna go for dinner? Roaring Fork is the right answer.

My husband and I try to keep a standing Friday night date night, but sometimes...life happens. So,…read morethis week, we moved things to Sunday and ended up at Roaring Fork. From the moment you walk in, the place pulls you in...the open kitchen off to the left, the smell of food drifting through the entryway. It immediately feels warm and inviting. The dim lighting paired with big glass windows gives it that cozy, romantic vibe. If the weather cooperates, the patio overlooking Quarry Lake can be ideal, but it was way too hot for that, so we happily stayed inside with AC. I also love that this is one of those places where you can show up however you feel. We kept it casual, but you wouldn't feel out of place dressed up for a special occasion either. It strikes a nice balance...comfortable but still special enough for a date night. Our server, John, came by right away with water and menus and offered a few recommendations, which we appreciated. He was clearly covering a large section, so service wasn't super attentive, but he was doing his best and stayed friendly throughout. As for the food, my husband went with the burger and fries while I ordered the chicken with asparagus and mashed potatoes. Everything came out hot, well-seasoned, and easy to enjoy...solid, satisfying choices all around. That said, the food almost felt secondary. What really mattered was just having that uninterrupted time together, catching up and reconnecting. Great food was an added bonus...

Vida Verde Kitchen -- A Hidden Gem That's Worth Finding…read more Austin is overflowing with trendy restaurants where the food is decent, the lighting is aggressive, and the wait time requires a light snack and a personality shift. I tend to avoid those places. Vida Verde Kitchen, thankfully, is not that. Tucked into a great area but slightly hidden (the kind of spot you feel proud to "discover"), Vida Verde feels like a restaurant that exists for people who actually want to eat, not just post. The menu is a thoughtful fusion of Tex-Mex, fresh flavors, and Americana--familiar enough to be comforting, but creative enough to keep things interesting. Yes, it's a bit overpriced, but the food earns its confidence. The guacamole is an absolute must, and anything leaning Tex-Mex is consistently solid. I can vouch. The wait staff deserves real credit here--knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely invested in the food and experience, which goes a long way these days. The atmosphere hits that Austin sweet spot: industrial touches softened by lush green foliage. It's stylish without trying too hard, which is rare and appreciated. If I had one note? This place needs a happy hour and a few more solid specials. Do that, and Vida Verde becomes dangerous--in the best way. Overall: a unique, thoughtful restaurant that avoids the hype trap and delivers where it matters. Definitely worth your time (and thankfully, not hours of it).

I came here for a dinner during a work conference, and overall it was pretty good!…read more A new spot just over a year old, I thought the modern and green decor really brought a lot of life to the place. We were seated in the back and were given a chance to order drinks immediately. Sadly, the service after that point was unusually slow for our table. The rest of the people around us were getting served appetizers and their meals before our waitress even came back to take our order. The prices are a little higher than the best Mexican spots in Austin, so I'm glad that I wasn't paying for this meal. Once we were given a chance to order, I grabbed their Quesabirria tacos with rice and beans. The tacos were great. Super crispy and the meat was flavorful. The consomé was excellent to dip the tacos in. The beans were pretty good and the rice was decent Mexican rice, though not exceptional. I would maybe give it another chance if I was nearby, but after having to wait so long to order, I'm a little deterred from coming back, even if I thought the food was pretty good. RIYL: a well-decorated and modern Mexican restaurant
