Beautiful Restaurant, but the Food Fell Short for Me Atmosphere & Parking Soup Green Buffet is a spacious, beautiful, and clean restaurant. It was fairly busy during my visit, but there was ample parking. Food Lunch was $16.99, including drinks. The buffet has a large salad bar, several soups, and plenty of items to choose from. However, I found the selection of substantial main dishes, especially protein options, quite limited. There were plenty of salads, vegetables, side dishes, and carb-heavy items, but I would have liked more variety in the entrees. The flavors were underwhelming overall. The tom yum soup ingredients seemed overcooked, and the broth lacked the bold flavor I expected. The clam chowder was okay. The sushi was inconsistent, with some rolls being too rice-heavy, and the fish didn't taste as fresh as I would have liked. The miso pizza and ube ice cream were okay but not particularly memorable. Service & Value Service was efficient. You pay at the entrance before eating, including the tip, and a waitress takes care of the section. After tax and tip, the meal came to around $20 per person. While the restaurant is attractive and clean, I found the food experience underwhelming for the price. If you're looking for a quick lunch and don't eat a lot, there are other places where you can spend less. Personally, I'd probably go to Whole Foods for the salad bar, which I prefer. Soup Green Buffet may appeal to people who enjoy lighter food and a buffet setting, but I was hoping for more protein options, more flavorful main dishes, and better overall value.

It was such a great value menu! I came during lunch and I think this place is great as an option for group or family dining. Good varieties on the menu, very affordable price and food was good enough to keep you satisfied and full. Some items I love on their menu: jap chae salad, crab salad, fried scallop, fried fish and last but not least the ube soft serve. I'll definitely bring my family here, especially with kids. It's spacious inside, and the interior is good. Service was really fast as well, our waitress always kept our table clean.

Was really curious about this new AYCE spot, especially since I love SoupLeaf! Finally got to try it and it was an interesting experience! There are a huge variety of things to choose from, which initially I really liked, because I like trying bites of things. But as I kept eating, I think the mix of things was a bit too much and my stomach was like, "whoa that's enough." Haha. Waiters were kind and helpful, all staff were working hard. There's not really a line system so everyone was kinda going crazy and it was packed when I went. Things are clean and taken care of, which is a plus for buffet spots. I definitely think this place is great for a certain audience or type of people. People wanting to be semi-adventurous or wanting to try food outside of their culture, but not sure where to start... pricing is a bit steep in my opinion, but a lot of people were there so they didn't seem to mind. I think I'll stick to SoupLeaf for now, but if you visit here, the glazed salmon was delicious. Sushi was actually very fresh and I loved their kale salad!

Ok lol I am a huge fan of Soupleaf. My whole fam is and all my foodie friends. So when this opened up I knew I had to try it. But my foodie friends were telling me to wait. Online food forums had mixed reviews. So I chose to wait until now u til I heard it got better. I wanted to come for weekday lunch because everyone said it's the best deal then but couldn't make it but this Saturday we were free so we went. I was so excited. I was hungry and couldn't wait. We got there a tad later than I'd like after noon but we got seated. No huge lines yet. You pick your drink and then pay to get in. Weekends are same price as evenings so it was around $25 after tax. My daughter's a teacher so she got that 20% off teacher discount. Not Pepsi zero they said so I tried their jasmine hot tea which the girl assured me it was sweetened. I was surprised and tried it but it was not lol so the waiter brought me iced Lipton tea. I was surprised they had sushi and a lot of mixed hot food options. I know it's soup and salad and heard they had some salmon BUT they have a little bit of everything which got me confused lol So here are my pros: those tiny croissants buttery and sweet so good with ube ice cream. That's the highlight of my meal. Fried fish was good. Walnut shrimp was good. Loved the clam chowder. Kale salad was good. The salmon on the sushi was fresh. Sadly that was it for me. Cons: fried chicken wings which I was looking forward to was not fresh even when they came out The price point is high even for lunch or dinner for the quality of food you are getting. Roast beef I was excited for but not what I expected. The rice is way too big on the sushi Tilapia sushi? Very odd. The salads my son said was the highlight but the selection was few. What happened? The sushi rolls were ok but something messed my stomach up. I couldn't eat anymore after my 1st plate. And I had to take some meds at night to help it digest lol same with my daughter. She still having issues but she thinks it's the raw tilapia or maybe like my guess the mix of food was too crazy. All in all I am glad I tried it. It was busy enough. Nelson Lin looked tired but kind. Was gonna say hi but he had liens of people wanting to talk to him lol I am glad it's doing well. Lots of senior citizens ha I know they have a deal for them right now too I am still giving it a 4 stars because things were bad per se. My personal opinion is that I want some order and flow to my buffets and food. I can't get that here. Is it soup? Is it salad? Why is there lomein and Chinese food now and also sushi? It's becoming a Chinese buffet lol but why is it called Soup Green? lol I am confused but my stomach is way more so. That's all. Weekday Lunch price point is on point. Anything else like my foodie friends all say it's kinda high for what you get. Out of huge respect for Nelson and the Lin family I give 4 stars and I wish I can give more. For soupleaf it's definitely a 5. I go there at least every month and tell everyone it's the best hot pot place in town if not even in Houston. It's better than those over there. And that's saying a lot. But here I am still confused as to what the angle is for Soup Green and I hope they figure it out. It's a beautiful clean place which I love just for me I need a vision lol one that aligns with the name and the goal you are aiming for ~ glad I finally tired it though!

It's like Souplantation/Sweet Tomato with an Asian twist! We went around the time they opened, ~11AM ish. My family and I used to go to Souplantation a lot growing up so finding this place then tasting the food here was so much better! Coming in, you notice the grander entryway lobby area filled with a wall of flowers - very chic. Going to your right is the entrance into the buffet. You pay here before you go in to eat. They ask party size, ages of any kid(s), what type of drinks you want then the host takes you to your seat. Kids pricing is 1.5 their age.. so if you have a kid that's 5yr old.. price is 1.5x5. The staff are very attentive and come by every so often to clear tables and to ask how things are. Very good service. Other than that the vibe is typical buffet style. They have lots of options from Romain lettuce to spinach to Japchae to squid salads, tofu salads, kimchi, jello, mandarin salad, Caesar salad, arugula.. their hot sections have coconut shrimp, beef, white rice, fried rice, roasted mushrooms, potatoes, sweet potatoes, different kinds of pizza and garlic bread. Their options are extensive but not too extensive you cant choose what to get.. Soup options include: hot n sour, clam chowder, tom yum, chicken noodle, egg drop, and beef veggie soups. Desserts they have coffee cakes, jello- lychee and strawberry Gelato, fruits (watermelon, peach, pineapples, mandarin orange), and ube ice cream and vanilla ice cream. Both can be swirled if you like they are soft serve from a machine. Overall a very pleasant experience with mid-variety of food options.

SoupGreen really exceeded my expectations! Especially for the price point, I was expecting your typical cheap buffet, but everything was so fresh. Their salad bar is really extensive and again, all of the ingredients seem super fresh. They don't have too many hot food/protein items, but what they did have was really good. You would think sitting under the heat lamps would dry everything out. But the fish was super tender and the chicken was pretty juicy and flavorful. From what I've seen in pictures, it looks like they swap out different pastas, so I guess it depends on when you go. And I love that they have baked potatoes and sweet potatoes and a topping bar. I was sadly too full by the time I got around to getting one, so I wasn't able to try it, but it looked so good. I think the soups are a bit on the saltier side, but still pretty decent. And their desserts were tasty too. I was a big fan of their mini croissants, I definitely visited that station more than once. And the ube ice cream has a pretty strong ube flavor.

This is a total yes in our book!! Go here! Check it out! Everything was good :) It's beautiful, clean, modern, NEW. The price point is so affordable. Drinks included is unheard of too! The options are really fresh and this far exceeded our expectations. Check the Facebook out to see if they have any special promos going on, because we got the kids dinners for free, which is nice discount off for some during these times. The kids enjoyed it as well, they actually ate the food and asked for more which is surprising. We all loved the ube soft serve for dessert :) Service was quick, they took our used plates off our table periodically to give us space. We will definitely be coming back.

My son and I were first timers here, but we won't be last timers !!! Excellent choices of fresh food that everyone can enjoy from salads to soups to sea food, fried chicken, pizza, desserts and so much more !!! The service was good for a buffet and the atmosphere is great as well.

This is not your typical Asian buffet. I checked this new buffet out for the first time with my friend recently. SoupGreen is by the same owners of SoupLeaf hotpot, which I actually didn't like. You can read my review of that... I normally avoid Asian buffets because I went to a lot growing up and equated them to cheap, low-quality fried food. But the food here is actually really good! And don't let the name fool you-they have more than just soups and salads! Not only can you customize your greens, they also have fish, pasta, pizza, meats, etc. The Korean japchae and kimchi looked strange-I didn't try those. The service is what you would expect for Asian buffets-none. We sat down and we didn't see our server. There was someone who walked by and we asked if he was our server. Apparently he was. Anyway, you just go up and get your food. Everything is self serve. We didn't have our water cups refilled at all. But you don't have to worry about tips because you pay before you enter the buffet area anyway. Save room for ube ice cream! This had strong ube flavor and was perfectly sweet. I left here so full. If you take food to go, it's priced by weight. It's worth the reasonable $20 pp and I will definitely come back! There's a parking lot.

We've been absolutely impressed with SoupGreens (fka Mama Lin's) since their opening and very much enjoyed every single dinner meal that we've eaten there. Prices are very reasonable for an AYCE, options for pickings are abundant, fresh and delicious and you are in control of all the things you put on your plate, what more can you want? With their pricing, drinks are included, the parking situation is wonderful and I'm always impressed with the helpful and friendly staff who are on top of clearing our table of dishes and refilling drinks. The interior decor is also absolutely breathtaking and lovely, and dare I say, even more upscale and lovely than their Soupleaf dim interior vibes? I love that they're extremely family friendly and love everything about SoupGreens! So excited they're so close to my home and happy to support a local Asian business with solid food choices!

Soup Green is another restaurant from the Soup Leaf family, so I came in with pretty high expectations! I actually really like the concept, and I've now been here twice hoping I'd enjoy it more the second time around. Unfortunately, I left feeling a little underwhelmed both times. It's not that the food is bad at all--in fact, you can tell the ingredients are really fresh and high quality. They also have a few standout dishes, and I especially loved the mini croissants! That being said, I found myself kind of walking around the buffet and picking at different foods without there being enough dishes that I was genuinely excited to go back for. I think it would be really nice if they rotated the menu more often or added a few more options because I wanted more variety throughout the meal. One thing I did really appreciate was the service. The servers were all incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful, which definitely made for a pleasant experience. As for the price, I wouldn't necessarily say it's cheap or expensive, but I did leave feeling like it was a little pricey for what you're getting. Since most of the buffet consists of salads, vegetables, and lighter dishes, it didn't quite feel like the value matched the price. Overall, I think Soup Green is a nice option if you're looking for a healthier buffet with fresh ingredients, but I personally don't know that I'd go out of my way to come back. The concept is great, the ingredients are fresh, and the service is wonderful--I just wish there were a few more standout dishes and a little more variety to make the experience feel more worth the price!

Panko crusted fried fish, fried rice, kimchi, Sichuan shrimp salad, cucumber salad, mini croissant.

The food is good. They have a great variety of soups and salads, some with an Asian twist. I tried a tid-bit of many items. The standouts: * Panko-fried fish. They were crispy, light, fluffy, and juicy morsels. * Hot and sour soup. It had the right balance of heat (spice), sour, consistency, and textures with mushrooms, bamboo, and egg. * Fried rice. Light, slightly aromatic, and well balanced. * Jap chae. Though it did not include many of the usual ingredients (principally egg and/or other protein), it was perfectly seasoned and the texture was spot on. * Mini croissants. These were delicious. A hint of sweetness and perfect flaky crusts. Each bite was perfect. * Ube ice cream. Should be Ube Ice Scream! The flavor is so subtle, but it is delicious. It's a new favorite for me. All-in-all, the variety was great. They had some unexpected offerings such as the seafood pizza that looked amazing (though I did not try because I kept forgetting), clam chowder, terriyaki salmon, pot roast (I believe). I didn't try the more usual offerings such as their general salad bar. But given the lines, I imagine they're good. I think the price and their service and the atmosphere are on-point. I usually only ever serve myself two plates, sampling only a few things, plus a small dessert. I think I'll have to return to try some of their many other offerings I didn't check out. I think it is at least worth a try, and for a salad and soup buffet, I expect it will sate many of your herbivore needs. We will definitely be returning and including it in our rotation for AYCE when we just can't settle on a single thing. Why only 4*? The place was clean, well-appointed decor-wise, and the food was good. But I did deduct a star because it was so busy that the kitchen had trouble keeping up with demand for their soups, pizzas, and protein offerings. I'm sure this is something they'll address as the business matures and understands the appetites of its patrons better.

Delicious food and great customer service! Every employee I've interacted with here has been extremely nice and helpful. The place is decorated in an absolutely stunning way. From the entrance to the buffet, it has a luxurious feel. The food was really good and there were so many options. There is definitely something for everyone in this buffet. I particularly loved the cocktail shrimp and the Tom Yum soup.

The bowl itself came loaded with meat--they definitely weren't skimping to save money here. The meat-to-noodle ratio felt great, and every bite actually had substance instead of leaving me fishing around for toppings. As for the broth, I landed somewhere in the middle. It wasn't quite as clear or light as I personally prefer, leaning toward a fattier, milkier undertone that almost reminded me of a Vietnamese pho take on tonkotsu. The flavor itself was undeniably very good, but the richness may have been a bit too much for me personally. One way I usually judge how much I love a pho broth is whether I want to sip the bowl down to the very end, and this one wasn't quite light enough for me to want to do that. I've had richer and deeper pho flavors elsewhere, but I still appreciated the flavor profile here and could absolutely see why this place is so popular. It feels hearty, comforting, and satisfying in a way that clearly resonates with many people. Despite how packed the restaurant was, the atmosphere ended up being surprisingly pleasant. Service moved very quickly, which honestly impressed me given how busy everything felt. Even with the crowd, I didn't dislike the spacing or setup at all--the restaurant still felt comfortable, and the sound of people enjoying their food all around added to the lively, welcoming energy rather than making it feel overwhelming. Overall, Pho Phong Lưu ended up being one of those places where I completely understood the hype, even if it didn't become my personal favorite pho spot. While the broth leaned richer than my preference, I still enjoyed the experience and definitely look forward to trying other dishes next time.

Definitely recommend!
