I decided to try this spot since I noticed it was new and I pass by often. When we entered, I was totally surprised by the patio out back which overlooked a creek which was a cool ambience. The waitress was decently nice and food came out promptly but as it got busier, she was too busy to check on us. The food was quite good and fragrant, though I found the hummus a little salty while my lamb tekka and the rice were more bland though the dips had plenty of flavor. I expected more grilled vegetables as the menu mentioned tomatoes but we just got a couple pieces of onions. The rice to dish ratio was a bit off had we not got other dips and sides.

The restaurant was clean and very nicely decorated. Unfortunately, the service was awful. It seemed like they were quite understaffed. It took us 45 minutes to get our food, and that was only because we said something about it. The food came out lukewarm, not even fresh. I honestly wish I could've at least microwaved it. We ordered the mixed chicken and meat shawarma ($16) and the Jerusalem mixed grill ($25). The mixed chicken and meat shawarma came out lukewarm. The Jerusalem mixed grill comes with a salad or hummus. We ordered hummus but they got our order wrong. We also ordered a baba ghanoush that never came. Overall, the food was just okay. There are definitely better middle eastern places in Austin. To their credit, the owner was apologetic and comped the mixed chicken and meat shawarma. Definitely not worth the wait or the poor service. I really wanted to support this restaurant since the owners are presumably Palestinian and it's a small business. I would not recommend this place and won't be returning.

I went a few days after they opened for lunch. They did a nice job with the decor. The place was pretty empty, just us and one other table. Nobody else showed up while we were there. The menu is extensive and the prices are really good! I ordered hummus which was great and came with homebaked bread; and shawarma that was sadly quite average.

I've been hearing a lot about this place so I decided to come try it. It is located at the old building of Jan Chi Korean food which was one of my favorite places before they closed. The inside was similar, open floors and plenty of seating. We went for lunch on a Sunday and there weren't many people there. I love Mediterranean food but have never tried Palestinian cuisine specifically so I was excited to try this new place. We got the hummus to start and it was delicious! The pita was big and plentiful though I wish we would have gotten regular veggies to go with the hummus as well (this is just personal preference). For the mains my friend got chicken and beef mixed with rice and she enjoyed it. I got the lamb sandwich and unfortunately I don't like tomato onion or pickle and that's the 3 things that came with the lamb so I essentially just ate bread and lamb which is okay! I improvised and added some of the leftover hummus. I do wish it would have came with a little side of rice or a little side salad. The side of the sandwich was pickled veggies and they were very strong unfortunately a little too strong for me. Other than that the staff kept checking in on us and I'm very glad to have tried it. All of this is personal preference and I know I can be a little picky which is why I am not taking any stars off :-) I can't wait to come back and try some of their pizzas! Glad to see Austin is getting more diverse cuisines.

Chicken Shawarma Sandwich

Such great flavors in the food and was surprisingly filling! My Chicken Shawarma Sandwich was the only photo I got, but we also ordered the platter version of this (which was HUGE), fries, and falafel. Everything was very fresh and served in a quick time frame. Service was also very attentive! Would absolutely go back again.

Everything was good and fresh! People so nice there! I love the hummus and chicken sandwich too.

Pinthouse Pizza - Pizza roll

All these years, many restaurants have come and gone, but Pinthouse has continued to impress…read more Whether you are taking the family out, or simply grabbing a beer and doing some work, there is no better place. I came in and grabbed a beer at the bar and worked on my laptop while I waited for my buddy to join. Even though it was a busy week night, there was still plenty of seating. Every single employee is incredibly friendly and seems like they truly care about the work they do. We ordered a pizza, salad, and Italian sub. The pizza and salad were fantastic as always. I probably wouldn't order the sub again but that won't change my love for this place.

Pinthouse is an Austin classic with good pizza and beer. This South Lamar location has more space…read morethan others, so we came here with a group of around 36 people. We waited maybe 20 minutes to order then another 45 minutes for food, which wasn't that bad for a busy Friday night. We were crowded outside, and we didn't really have enough table or chair space. That's to be expected when we descended upon the restaurant with such a large group. For six people, we ordered three pizzas to share. We definitely could have shared with more people because we had some pizza left over. We got The Works, Shroomin' Goat, and Texas Chicken Ranch pizzas. The Texas Chicken Ranch was by far our favourite. It was really good, while the other two were alright. The crust was weirdly bubbly and amorphous looking. There was a lot of crust. The Works was okay. The sauce and meat weren't particularly tasty. The Shroomin' Goat was a vegetarian pizza with a lot of arugula, which is not my type of pizza, but our vegetarian friend said it was okay. Great vibes at Pinthouse overall though, and I have enjoyed their other pizzas in the past.

Allday - SAUSAGE SLICE

Allday

Tarryton/Exposition Blvd.

I've shared my praise of Allday Pizza in Hyde Park many, many times on Yelp and just around town to…read morepeople talking about how truly incredible their pizza is. There is nothing more delectable than their unique and unbelievable slices of pizza. On top of that, their Caesar salad, and everything else in between is incredible as well. The only "issue" with Allday in Hyde Park is that you are always waiting in line. Their location in Hyde Park is their second location and is their most popular by far. Though the wait in line at any hour is worth it. Sometimes you just don't want to make that commitment. That's where their location in Terrytown shows up as the true superstar. Located right off of Lake Austin, the Allday Pizza is attached to Flo's Wine Bar and Bottle Shop as a walk up window. There isn't a lot of parking at Flo's, but plenty of free street parking right next to Allday on Pecos Street. What is crazy is that when we walked in at 12:15 PM on Sunday, might I add, there was no line to order. Plenty of people going to town on their pizza, but no line to order. This was incredible. In Hyde Park, a 12:15 PM arrival would mean a 1:30 PM meal. Not here! The outdoor space is shaded and well covered which was great for a rainy day like today was. You can also sit inside Flo's with your pizza and enjoy some wine alongside it. You can do no wrong here! Another reason I wanted to go to the Terrytown location was because unlike Hyde Park, they serve by the slice cuts of the Cacio E Pepe that I've been dying to try. After our order, we grabbed some plates, cups of water and napkins, and our food was ready in mere seconds. I had a slice of the Stracciatella, the Pep & Pepp, and of course, the Cacio E Pepe. The Stracciatella is creamy and delightful and the Pep & Pepp has a minor kick but really balances against the Stracciatella. The Cacio E Pepe was fantastic. No tomato sauce, but the peppery flavor (that you would expect in a cheese and pepper pizza) was outstanding. It tasted like a well done sauce on crust. My girlfriend got a Tomato Tomatoe that I tried a bite of and was impressed. The lemon pepper panko is just like the one included in the MVP Caesar Salad and it really did a lot of heavy lifting in the slice because it is simply so incredible. The salad which I got a bite of is delectable. How do the greens taste so fresh? Why is the dressing so delightful? It's still the best Caesar I've ever had. Because there was no line, we indulged a bit and got a Dirt Cup to share for dessert. It consisted of their Dark Chocolate Soft Serve, chocolate sauce, an Oreo crumble made in-house, and gummy worms. The soft serve gelato is nuts. I haven't had it at the Hyde location and this was my first impression. What a star on its own. I have not had a single bad menu item at Allday. You can't go wrong. Hyde Park's location might feel a little more sophisticated with its beautiful architecture, full bar with wines, cocktails, and beers on draft, and a little bit more expansive of a menu, but the Terrytown location feels a little more peaceful. It is in a beautiful area of Austin and the ability to arrive and be done with a meal in about 45 minutes is magical. I think Allday in Terrytown might take over the Hyde Park location as my favorite restaurant in Austin, but it's a close race like debating if Wemby or SGA deserves the MVP more. Both are ceiling raisers and the best food you can have in Austin. RIYL: The best food you can have in Austin with little to no wait.

TL;DR: I would definitely come back here! Great chill spot to grab a slice of NY-style pizza and…read moresome wine. Food: I ordered a two slices: Stracciatella and Sweet Sausage. I paired them with a glass of Nebbiolo. Both slices of pizza very much reminded of the pizza that I had in NYC -- thin crust but firm enough that they could easily be folded without flopping. The Stracciatella is absolutely delicious. I like that the sauce and cheese feel light but still noticeable in taste. I liked the Sweet Sausage even more, especially with the honey flavor from the sauce. Would highly recommend pairing a glass of red wine with the pizza for the best experience, but there is free water too if you need. Service: Very friendly! To order pizza, you just go up to a window, very self-explanatory. To order wine, you go inside up to the bar. Ambiance: + Parking is easy, it's street parking with no meters. + Restroom is very clean and nice: there are two individual rooms. + There is both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is nice even if it is cold out because of the shielding and plethora of heat lamps.

It comes with Pepperoni, Soppressata, and Italian Sausage. I really liked the flavor of all of the meat in the marinara sauce plus the pizza crust is light and fluffy. Overall Pieous is a great place to get some good pizza. The service and pizza were good. I suggest going at an off time that isn't the typical lunch or dinner time.

Make note of their hours as well because they are closed in middle of day. 4-8pm I'm the afternoon does not give a big window to choose your dining time. But the restaurant checks all the boxes. Great ambience. Fun indoor and outdoor seating. Tasty food. Big outdoor space for little ones to play. Convenient location. Decent pricing. The salads are served on big trays which makes sharing easy (even when I didn't really want to share my yummy tossed salad with toasted garbanzo beans and Chunks of fresh mozzarella and a super yummy dressing. The pasta and pizza tasted really good. From an owner of a few pizza places in Houston, I was disappointed in the crispness of the dough. I don't care for pizza that can hold its shape when being held. But if I just told myself it was bread instead- I enjoyed it. It was really the pasta and salad for me. We didn't try too much because we were actually surprised it was open. Many friends mentioned the desserts were to die for. Even Guy on DDD mentioned the caramel rolls were what cinnamon rolls wish they could be. He also LOVED the pastrami sandwiches. So I'd i could do a 1-10 scale I'd give it a 9 for the extra work we had to put in to align with their limited open hours and for the soggy crust. But highest marks on the rest. They also have a room you can rent out in the back or the restaurant and good parking. Next time you want pie- Give pieous a try
