One of the worst dining experiences ever. Came here for our lunch break from work, wanting to try a new place. Looked super good so we were excited. We ended up ordering 2 drinks. 2 small bites and 2 unusual banh mi's. The drinks were good, then we got the small bites. Mango salad and shrimp skewers. we got the salad first which had a horrible flavor that neither me or my boyfriend could do, so we set it aside. we did eat the crackers that came with it. it was good. Then we got the shrimp skewers, which came and looked black. We decided to give it a try anyways, it was horribly overcooked. like rubber wouldn't even describe it. so we didn't eat it either. i ate the cucumbers that came with it which were good. We finally got the banh mi's which were ok we ate it but nothing special. Then came the time when server came to ask if we're ready for check. We ended up mentioning that we hated the salad and the shrimp. still untouched on the table. she said to give her a moment. and we sat and waited for 10 minutes. while they were talking about us and them saying "they did touch the shrimp" (yes we took 2 bites to try it obviously, then we didn't touch it afterwards) finally after 10 minutes they bring us the check. which they didn't take anything off of. so we paid $70 for 2 banh mis. left hungry with a horrible experience. We were still thinking of coming back just to grab some drinks cause they looked good. but after voicing our complaints, then those complaints ignored. Never again. Horrible. read more

Decided to give this place a try despite my better judgement (saw their prices and menu) and was disappointed. I got their lemongrass tofu banh mi and it was plain and hardly lemongrass at all. Even other than the tofu, the classic flavors of a typical banh mi wasn't there. Their aioli didn't have the subtle butteriness I usually taste in other banh mis and the pickled veggies were barely picked. I also wish the bread was a bit more toasted and airy. A friend and I started getting Le Bleu's banh mi as takeout pretty regularly while covid restrictions were just starting to ease up, and I always thought they were good (not traditional and slightly expensive, but yummy) but that was all I'd ever ordered, and now I'm kind of kicking myself. I needed a place that could accommodate about 12 people on a Wed night that would also be good for a bunch of different diets and wouldn't be super noisy inside, and when I called, they said they could definitely do a reservation for us, so FYI, they're great for a larger group! The decor is beautiful and welcoming, and our server was really sweet. I got their shaken steak bun, and was given a huge portion that was generous on the rice noodles and the protein, with lots of herbs as well, and the sauce was well-balanced. It also comes with two egg rolls on top, so that was even more filling, although I probably would have preferred them whole and not sliced down the middle. The steak marinade was absolutely delicious, so I'll definitely be getting that again. Based on the feedback I got, everyone else was a fan as well, even those who had never had Vietnamese food before and were a little bit apprehensive about it being out of their comfort zones. read more

So, I've been desperately on the search for places that have a delicious traditional banh mi. I have to say that this little shop has a pretty good one. I was missing some of the classic flavor from the seasoning sauce and butter mayo, also the pickled veggies were definitely not pickled enough. Things I did like... the bread, the amount of paté, the flavor of the meats... it could be a really great sandwich! The pho was delicious, but they don't use the typical noodles which is a little disappointing and they were overcooked and falling apart. The broth was flavorful and there was a decent amount of meat in it. I got a cafe sua da, but it was not great (I don't care for when restaurants use Cafe Du Monde coffee in them). Came here for crawfish (my latest obsession) and I had such a good experience! The crawfish here is more similar to a backyard crawfish boil experience than it is to Boiling Crab in that the crawfish isn't wet and saucy. Even without sauce though, the crawfish was plenty flavorful. I took it out. I felt the pate was a bit much and it was a bit saltier than my liking but it was still tasty and the bread alone was perfectly done. I enjoyed the spring rolls too. Very fresh and the peanut sauce tasty. I enjoyed the whole lunch experience. My only criticism was the price point. A bit high but nowadays everything is high. It's worth a visit. Cute lunch place. Did an order for pick up and was shocked by the size of a few items for the price. The spring rolls were tiny for $9 and the peanut sauce was more like peanut butter than sauce. Before the food even arrived, we enjoyed being here. The ambiance is colorful and wonderful. The staff was friendly, attentive and helpful. And the music was great. We were even more elevated when the drinks arrived - not from the alcohol itself (which didn't hurt), but my wife's drink was a Ginger Cosmopolitan in a nice glass garnished beautifully with a slice of fresh ginger, and it was a delicious drink. I'll order that myself next time. I had a well-chilled 512 IPA, which I enjoyed. I didn't expect such a great cocktail and beer selection from a place that's known for its banh mi sandwiches, so this was a very pleasant surprise. The chicken wings appetizer was very nice, as well. It was served in a beautiful bowl and came with a second, empty bowl to hold the bones. It came with a tasty sauce that I normally associate with Vietnamese vermicelli dishes. The wings were crispy and meaty. Nice! For entrees, I had the OG Banh Mi and my better half, who is not vegetarian, ordered the eggplant, with no protein topper. Just a bowl of eggplant served over rice. That surprised me, but it ended up being a really great choice. Their "OG" version of the banh mi was mostly traditional, with cold cuts and pate, topped with carrot, daikon and cilantro. Two things made it somewhat non-traditional. First, they added a slice of pork belly (yum). Second, there was no sliced jalapeño on top. What? But they brought a jar of house-made chili to the table that not only added to the sandwich and eggplant, but it was so good, we bought a bottle to take home! The star of the banh mi was the baguette. It was perfect! But the star of the entire meal was my wife's eggplant entree. Oh my goodness! Again - we're not vegetarians, but it blew us away! This restaurant is on the side of the strip center close to Chilis. As we were leaving, we noticed all the people in the Chilis restaurant and actually felt sorry for them! My boyfriend was craving bánh mì. Via yelp search, we identified Le Bleu as has some of the best in town. The OG bánh mì did not disappoint. Perfect bread, meats, and crisp and tasty veggies. First of all, the service was really top notch - the level of attentive that you get in a fancy restaurant, though this place was more casual. The atmosphere was just OK, nothing special, not particularly great for a date night, etc. But, the food was pretty fantastic! The bread was a perfected toasted texture, and the meat was delicious. At $12, which ends up being $15+ after tax and tip, it is very expensive for a sandwich. Your standard Vietnamese restaurant is far more reasonably priced. We got the spring rolls to share, which were $9 for four small half rolls of lettuce and shrimp. They were good although very leafy, and I liked the peanut sauce, but the amount of food for the price is not a great deal. What a convenient and delicious spot to grab a delicious lunch! Plenty of parking and a menu with great variety for all, I was very pleased with my experience at Le Bleu. They also offer both indoor and outdoor seating (limited). We split the summer rolls to start our meal with a refreshing bite. Comes with plenty of peanut sauce for anyone to dip in without feeling like they have to be stingy. Next, we split a Lamb Banh Mi and a Grilled Pork Banh Mi. The lamb was tender and had the slight gamey taste you'd expect, but it was subtle and well balanced with the seasoning and the fresh, julienned mango that it was dressed with. The Grilled Pork Banh Mi was what I hoped for. In my opinion, it may be almost as good as Kuway's! The bread for both sandwiches was soft and palatable, but still had the nice crust you'd hope for. My lunch companion tried the Vietnamese coffee and said it was too strong for her taste. The staff kindly added more milk per their request, but it was still overpowering for them. Seems like it may be for only the strongest caffeine drinkers. Definitely returning - the passion fruit garlic-chili wings are next on the list to try! 5/5 read more

Okay so here's my negatives... We sat at the table with our Waters and menus for at least 10 minutes before the server came over to see what we wanted and started off with... you guys ready to order? No hello, no my name is, no check out this my favorite, hey do you guys want to start off with some drinks? Okay lucky for her we're professionals, so right off the bat since we had the time to think about it we order our drinks and appetizers. We tell her later on ask us what we want for entrees. Okay drinks eventually come out, appetizers come out, we order our entree, the server did come by one time during the appetizers to ask how everything was, but didn't really do much else. She could have asked us for more drinks, and probably would have gotten another round out of us. Okay then the entree comes and we share a fish whole fish it has a sauce. No new plates, fish with sauce served without a spoon. The only utensils are the forks we started with. Server is at the end of the bar looking at her phone or talking to the bartender. And only notices activity from our table when I get out of my seat to come towards her to ask her for fresh plates and then the spoon. The dessert I wanted that they're kind of known for is an ube tiramisu. And they were out of it. Limited production. That's nobody's fault but the owners. Okay now because we're restaurant people we still left 20% tip however that's the bare minimum for me. This restaurant isn't very fancy but it's also not a fast food restaurant. It's casual setting, there's a bar they have drinks they have food. Service is taught, it's not natural, and it takes more than an order taker to be a server. Maybe the training was the bare minimum, maybe this person had limited experience before. But It's called Wait Staff, cause you supposed to be waiting for me to want something or better yet anticipate so I don't have to wait. Maybe I'll just expect less...
