The prices here were kind of over priced for the portion leaving you still hungry. Not a lot of meat or other ingredients were added on top of the noodles. It's kind of surprising what the college kids have to pay for this. Though the staff here were still nice and helpful it does not justify the meal here. The pho was still average compared a lot of other places in town.

Egg rolls taste old. I think they were refried. The grilled meat was partially burnt.

[UPDATED review and rating] After a very careful consideration and comparison to other places in Austin, I took off one more star. The food did not worth listed menu prices at all (see full review below). Do yourself a favor and just drive somewhere else, if you can, for much better options and fuller plates at the exact same price. ---------- Went to this place for the first time. It's a very casual spot on campus. The prices are about the same as in many other places in Austin but, but in my opinion a bit high for what we got. The seating inside is very annoying. I'm a community table hater (unless it is a social event or a big party dining together, in these situations it is fun actually). But in this setting, noting irritates me more than having to seat with strangers elbow to elbow while trying to enjoy some food and have a conversation. If you dislike this kind of sitting situation, you better off seating outside if you're committed to going to this spot. I wanted to try UTEA Special, but the only red meat option they had available that day was brisket. I'm not sure if they were running out of brisket as well or were just stingy, but the amount of meat was pretty sad and on top of that the slices were really tiny, you'd have to work extra to fish them out. Very small amount of sprouts as well. You basically would fill in with noodles. They had many other options as well, which makes me think pho is probably not the priority. I'm not sure if it was just not a good we caught, but I will likely not be back for now.

casual vietnamese spot with a few dishes from other cuisines, including pad thai. the seating is very casual and meant to accommodate college students living in west campus. i had the pad thai with tofu and it was delicious. definitely spicer than the one at pho thaison but has a more authentic flavor. the vermicelli was yummy as well, the pork was well seasoned and delicious. servers are mainly college students, unfortunately the one that served us was not as friendly and didn't check up on us.

The veggie pho is amazing here. it is probably my favorite veggie pho in Austin. The tofu is perfectly cooked, and appreciate that they don't just put mushrooms and try to pack the soup with toppings instead of just noodles and broth. Price is also reasonable, and they validate parking!

Really solid vietnamese restaurant with yummy cream puffs in west campus!! Workers are nice and pleasant. The inside is clean, simple, and has a ton of natural light from the tall windows. The cream puffs were delicious and beautiful! Loved the strawberry one, which was drizzled in chocolate syrup. The pho here is also good with generous portions!

I think for a Viet place in West Campus, UTea Pho is not bad, but it's not high quality food. It's affordable and quick with a very convenient location right in the heart of West Campus. The seating is limited but they are quite free outside of dinner hours. We got a spot by the windows. Service is really friendly! And they give a free bottle of water. I've gotten the egg noodles recently, and I like how they give a lot of protein, but the shrimp has been tough every time. The banh mi is all right as well. I think the cream puffs are a hit or miss, but it's been a while since I've had one. They used to be good! I'll be back here because of the location most likely.

UTea Pho is a convenient spot for food in West Campus, but I find it consistently mid. I've had their pho, Singapore noodle, pad thai, and wok on fire noodle. I would say they are all fine. I really enjoy their cream puff. I remember when they used to charge for water without telling us that they did, but now the first bottle is free at least. I organized a profit share here with my student organization and was successful. My last visit, the service was a big issue. We waited an extremely long time for each order, especially the cream puff and my friend's Vietnamese coffee. About 20 minutes after he ordered the coffee with boba, he was informed that they had run out of boba. They also mixed up our checks, and we were only a group of three. The staff were uncomfortably standing at the counter and crowded right next to our table. The manager is so kind!

Stopped by for lunch the other day and glad we did! Service is quick and the restaurant itself is casual and clean. We ordered the spring rolls, which were very generous servings. The sauce was a little more peanut heavy than I'm used to but it was very good nonetheless! I ordered pho, which was also a generous portion that i managed to finish completely. My partner ordered a vermicelli bowl (lemongrass chicken i think?). It was delicious and I would definitely get that again. Wish we had something like this place closer to us. Food is great and doesn't break the bank!

I've been here so many times I cannot believe I haven't reviewed it yet, but it is one of my favorite spots in austin! Their pho is amazing but their pan fried noodles are slept on. I always get the flat noodle with tofu and it hits the spot every time! It is located in West campus so the parking can be hard to find, but there are some street spots available! Most of the staff are UT students and they are super sweet and patient.

I like this place! They have some good noodles, close to campus, and great service. The protein portion size is a little small for the price but it's a convenient spot to grab some food.

I unexpectedly found myself on UT campus a few of months ago and came across UTea Pho. I'm so glad I did! Since then, I've been back a several times and have had a chance to try several of their times, and I have to say that it never disappoints. My go-tos are the vermicelli bowls (lemongrass beef is delicious), the spring rolls (shrimp or pork), and of course the pho. Service has consistently been friendly and quick. The restaurant is clearly a favorite among students, as it is always busy and packed. The crowd is mellow and although it is a calm place even when it is a full day. Reservations are available if you want to save yourself a potential wait although we have yet to make one and have one had to wait a few minutes at most. Check it out! You won't be disappointed!

I had my boyfriend pick up the food and he forgot to check for the hoisin sauce. I can't eat pho without it, so I called the store and was told it was offered but that he must not have heard the employee asking. I tried to eat the pho anyway, and it ended up being one of the worst bowls of pho I've ever had. I'm Vietnamese, so I know what good pho should taste like. The broth was extremely bland and watered down, with no aroma or real pho flavor. Without hoisin sauce it was even worse. I tried adding seasoning to make it taste decent but nothing helped. The noodles were also hard and clumped together in one big chunk. I had to microwave them for about three minutes just to get them to separate. In the end, I gave up and threw away our 2 -$18 bowl of pho. The broth tasted worse than instant pho. Very disappointing. I should have known better than to order pho downtown.

Summer Rolls/Nem Nuong Cuon ($11): These were underwhelming, pretty bland without the peanut sauce, which I thought was just okay as well. OG Banh Mi ($14): Delicious! It was one of our top two banh mi here, along with the lamb one. The bread was nicely toasted, the pâté came through, and all the flavors were on point. Garlic Butter Prawn Bún ($18): The shrimp were perfectly cooked, though the garlic butter flavor wasn't very strong. The vermicelli and veggies were so fresh and tasty together with the nuoc mam that I was able to eat the leftovers without any protein. Curry Ramen ($16): This was our first time trying curry ramen, so we didn't know what to expect. You got to choose your protein, so we went with chashu. The curry had flavors similar to oc len xa dua and was pretty good, and the ramen itself had a great texture. I still prefer regular ramen but would still recommend trying this at least once.

It came with two runny side up eggs, pate, two types of cured pork, beef gravy, and a handful of cilantro. The baguette came on the side, as did the mixed salad of lettuce and tomato. The salad had some dried shrimp, fish sauce, and a slightly sweet dressing. The restaurant itself is located in the Chinatown Center on N Lamar. It's a small corner shop. Lots of mirrors and glass. They bring out the meat and noodles separately and then the soup in the stone bowl. This time the asked me if I wanted all the greens-- lime wedges, basil leaves, jalapeño slices and bean sprouts. I never eat the bean spouts but use everything else and it always seems a waste of bean sprouts when I don't use them so I was thankful to have them hold the bean sprouts. Be careful as the soup is extremely hot and the hot stone bowl keeps it that way for a while. You fill the bowl to the brim after adding all the meats and noodles. My only complaint is the noodles. They are fresh and just the right texture... very good! But for some reason the always seem to get cut up after I put them into the bowl. Not sure if they cut them before hand but they end up cut short when put them in the bowI. I prefer long slurpy noodles over cut noodles that's hard to pick up with chopsticks. Overall I still give it 5 stars and this one of the two best pho spots in the greater Austin area
