Went here about a year ago for a study an computer work session. Amazing. And different coffee but overall 10/10

Not my favorite coffee shop, unfortunately. The location is incredible, right in the middle of the Domain, surrounded by restaurants, shops, and bars. It's a busy area, and the coffee shop itself had a decent crowd. It also looks like a popular spot for people to come and work. I met up with a buddy to catch up, and we both ordered iced coffee. I also got a frosted cinnamon roll. The baristas were nice, but unfortunately, neither the coffee nor the cinnamon roll really did it for me. The iced coffee tasted extremely bland, even after I added some creamer and sugar. It just didn't have much flavor and wasn't hitting the way I'd hoped. The cinnamon roll was also extremely dry. Usually, if something is just a little below par, I'm pretty easygoing about it, but this one was legitimately not very good. Great location, nice staff, and a cool atmosphere for working or hanging out, but unfortunately the food and drinks just weren't there for me. I probably wouldn't go back. read more

My daughter and I stopped in for a cup of coffee while on a shopping excursion at around 11 am on a Saturday. We were the only people in line when we arrived, but the indoor seating was already pretty full. I ordered an iced latte and she got an iced vanilla latte. Went to Houndstooth this Friday for wfc! And it turned into a great surprise. Got a lavender latte which was smooth, lightly floral, really well balanced. Also picked up a tall buckwheat-based muffin after chatting with the barista (was hesitant at first), but wow! it was amazing. Perfect sweetness, super soft, and honestly better than a lot of regular flour bakery stuff. Definitely coming back for that again. read more

The best coffee spot in Domain, Austin. Quick service, nice and airy. I picked up coffee for 3 consecutive days from Houndstooth once I found the place (recommended by a coworker). The peppermint mocha is amazing, and so are the breakfast tacos that they offer from Tacodeli. I just discovered Breakfast tacos and I am pretty impressed, they definitely beat the breakfast burritos which I never seem to ever be able to finish. The pumpkin yogurt granola was another mind-blowing find here. Pretty quiet in the mornings so it makes for a good working/relaxing with your cuppa coffee spot. read more

Houndstooth is a small coffeeshop chain which has locations in Austin and Dallas. The shop I go to most, is the one on Rock Rose at the Domain, as my wife works down the road from it. I've been going to this place on and off for just over a year. The staff are really nice and the place is kept clean and tidy. It has a simple, modern design which works, plus they also sell merch if you want a cup, hat or t-shirt! The location isn't very big, but there's plenty of seating inside, as well as outlets to use if you're going here to study, browse or just relax. They also sell a range of beer and wines, so you can get a lil chaser of your favourite tipple, which is great because it's open from 7am-9pm, so you can walk right out onto the main road which is full of bars if you want to keep the party going. The coffee is rich and tasty, plus they do a small selection of pastries and breakfast tacos (Tacodeli) in the morning. Warning, the Tacos go QUICK if you're looking start with the handheld bundles of joy. Overall, it's a great coffeshop for the coffee itself, its atmosphere, placement, and selection of drinks. read more

Houndstooth is in all likelihood the best coffee shop at the Domain. Specializing in high quality beans and offering a rotating selection of single origin espresso, the baristas working there are usually knowledgeable and, so far, after several years visiting, have never messed up a coffee order of mine. The overall ambiance is casual and the staff is a special kind of blasé hipster you almost exclusively find working in third wave coffee shops. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, because you can usually count on these individuals to do their job well. Just don't expect too much enthusiasm and you won't be disappointed. The location on Rock Rose Ave is convenient and the shop stays open a bit later than some other businesses around. Kudos. The only thing missing to Houndstooth is a soul. It could be more cozy and welcoming. But if you're just going for the coffee, it's great. read more

I met a new friend here and absolutely loved it. My chocolate chai latte was made to perfection and incredible! Probably my favorite in Austin tied with Patika. The bean n cheese taco I ordered also hit the spot and was from Taco Deli. Highly recommend that too. The baristas were nice and answered my friends questions. I tried the coffee and lemonade combination and it tasted pretty good, I don't think there's a place that can pull off this combo well The bad: The wifi, even when connected, was so slow that I had to use the internet from the Sweetgreen next door. We had a matcha latte and an americano (time piece blend). I was surprised on how fast both drinks were made, which made me a bit doubtful about their quality. The matcha was OK, nothing different from any other place. The americano was smooth but the water added was too hot, had to ask for ice to bring it to drinking temperature. Stopped by Houndstooth for morning cups of coffee. We ordered a Chai and Lavender Oat Milk Latte, both hot. We were greeted upon entering and had our orders taken right away. I went with the lavender oat milk latte that many people have raved about in their reviews. My person ordered a chai latte. Both drinks were hot and delicious. Houndstooth is definitely a place I'd stop by again. It's very spacious inside and the vibe is chill, eclectic, and minimal if that paints a picture in your head. They have variety of mugs, and other cups available for sale. And parking is alongside the street, there is a parking garage within The Domain. Came across this place when looking for good coffee. The ambiance upon first glance looks lime it screams "third wave" so I decided to give it a try. Decided to come here on two separate occasions, but tried ordering a pour over the first time, but it was too close to closing. I got a cappuccino which was pretty solid. Service was prompt at that time. The second time, the service was a bit slower, but nothing too crazy to complain about. Ordered a latte at that time, and enjoyed it. Prices are reasonable. It's a clean, well-decorated place. Their roasted coffee is okay. I will return to try their pourover at some point and will update the review. Every visit I've enjoyed, from friendly staff, to overall vibe, and of course quality of coffee. This is my goto spot for the domain. Atmosphere: Modern coffee cafe but with that "local community feel", a place to get to be known by the staff by name. Food: Coffee coffee, what ever flavors or mixes you enjoy they have it here. My go to is the espresso complete with sidecar (sparkling water). Though i've also enjoyed their matcha, lattes, and other mixed drinks. You really can't go wrong just depends on what you want. Service: Big seller for me is the friendly staff. Consistency they've always provided great service and are knowledgable about whatever drink they're serving. Even better when they know you by name. Another Domain coffee stop, but, this one has a trick to play as it doubles as a bar with a full shelf and a selection of canned craft beers. I was very happy with the service, the barista shared some suggestions with me as well as informed me that if I return to buy a second bag of beans there is a discount on an iced coffee. Impeccably clean inside. Very modern and catering to the tech crowd with plenty of charging points. Coffee was delicious and not overpriced, about $6. Beans however are an investment. This place is really cute and trendy they have a cute outside sitting area also. I went to do an online class with a couple classmates. We were so excited because we like trying new coffee places. They had chai lattes and said they were delicious! The only reason I'm giving 3 stars it because it's a coffee shop, so most people go there to work/study and they DON'T HAVE REGULAR PLUGS. I was gonna get chai latte but I saw a speciality lavender cold brew, the barista said they have the lavender syrup so they can make a latte. I ordered an ice vanilla latte at house tooth and it was good. I like the location because I can get a coffee while shopping at the domain however it's not a good place to study. They don't have any outlets to charge your laptop, so you can't stay there for very long. The staff is extremely friendly and they play good music to study to. There's a decent amount of seating but it's more of it to go coffee shop. They also serve beer, which is nice for a happy hour or post shopping drink. read more
