Today is the first day I have had coffee in over a month. As you are well aware, I am a self-confessed coffee addict.. I went through a 12-step coffee detox program. Just kidding.... I don't think there is such a thing. Smile. I was on a 21 day fast which excluded lattes. Let me just say when I walked into Austin Grind the smell of coffee was like bees to honey. The smooth taste, the warmth of the coffee sliding down my throat and the flavorfullness of the coffee soothed my soul. Today is going to be a very good day. Cozy coffee shop that is the closest place to my work. Coffee itself is pretty good, food options are decent and there's even a drive through! Would recommend a latte. They have the nice pellet ice to keep your drink chill. Drinks aren't too sweet either. The room is spacious and inviting, well lit. Decor is pretty great too. Horrible coffee. $14 + tip down the drain. I was asked whether I wanted caramel added SINCE THEY FORGOT TO ADD IT or if I wanted the drink remade. I asked for it to be remade, but instead they just added caramel. Why offer options if they're going to ignore what the customer asks for? This spot reminds me a lot of Summer Moon. Very cozy atmosphere and loved the big chairs they had around the seating area. Seating inside is very limited but it didn't seem too busy the Wednesday afternoon we went. I got the iced matcha latte and it honestly tasted more like sugar than matcha. Happened 20 Minutes Ago - Rude Service & Completely Wrong Drink Just left Austin Grind about 20 minutes ago, and honestly one of the worst coffee shop experiences I've had. I ordered a matcha lemonade and the barista said, "Yeah, I can do that." The place was not busy -- no line, no crowd -- yet I waited 25 minutes for my drink. What I got was a matcha latte with a splash of lemonade -- milk, matcha, and lemonade. I told her that's not what I ordered, and she snapped back saying "That's a matcha lemonade, it has lemonade in it." I pointed out it also had milk, which I never asked for, and she just shrugged. Super rude, no apology, and no offer to refund my $7. I didn't drink it -- I just asked her to take it back. If this is how they treat customers, I won't be back. Owner seriously needs to check who they've got running the bar. read more

3.5. The reviews are right. The service here is amazing. We took our time ordering and the barista was really helpful, and they bring your food and drink to your table which is a nice touch. They have a lot of pastry options, as well as many drinks, ice cream, and sandwiches. I wouldn't call the sandwich menu extensive though. We got an iced matcha with vanilla, an everything bagel with egg white and breakfast tacos (which come with cheese and egg) with bacon. The bagel is delicious, and if you don't mind that your eggs aren't scrambled in the tacos, those are great too. The matcha is very sweet, but if matcha ice cream is your vibe, then definitely come here. read more

Finally, a coffee shop in Austin that makes decent bagel and croissant sandwiches, and it's easy for me to get to! Came here on a Sunday morning and tried the blueberry muffin, and got myself a croissant sandwich that automatically comes with egg and cheese. Add-ons include things like spinach and peppers, but even with the spinach request, it was literally one leaf, lol! I also got a lavender iced latte which was extremely flavorful and delicious. I think a lot of other locals appreciate this space, as the few seats that were available were already taken. I had to sit at a barstool by the window, but it was still comfy overall! read more

Nice coffee shop with a warm, inviting atmosphere. Saw lots of people working from here. It is cozy inside and there's some seating available outside as well. Great selection of food (pastries, bagel sandwiches and more) as well as coffee + tea. We ordered the London Fog and an iced Cafe Au Lait. Both items were prepared quickly and were very tasty. This coffee has to be the most ashy burnt tasting coffee I have ever bought in my life. I am an avid coffee drinker and love to try local shops. I can't say how bad this was. Starbucks is better than this. Just go someplace else unless you like over roasted burnt tasting coffee. read more

I would have given this place 5 stars but they took so long to make our coffee drinks (which were nothing fancy). Honestly I think we waited 45 mins and had to go up and ask if they forgot. We also ordered food which came out in the first 10-15 mins. I had the chicken panini and a side of tomato soup (soup of the day). My friend had the 3 cheese panini and chips. The food was very good! The vibe is super cozy. This is a good place to catch up. Some of the tables are a bit too close to each other but outside seating and inside stools are both nice options. When we finally did get our coffees, it was really good! They had the holiday special- Peppermint white mocha and it was very very good. Almost worth the wait- ALMOST. the food and drinks were both very delicious! i would come back and hope service is better next time ! read more

This coffee shop sits practically next to one of my favorite pizza spots, Aviator pizza. It is a popular spot with at least six tables outside and seven tables inside. They have one glass bakery case which features a good selection, just not a great selection of baked choices. They have plenty of parking, very personable service and they do have a drive up window. However, there are two things that detract from it being a five-star experience. First, there is no coffee station for you to prepare your coffee. You have to trust the person behind the counter to get it right for you. For example, I like to use turbinado sugar and I have no idea if that's what they used or not. I like to fix my coffee my way and you can't do that here. The second issue was the fact that they have no condiments such as salt and pepper, or even salsa. I ordered a bacon egg sandwich and there was no salt and pepper to be found. I was also not a fan of the blueberry muffin, too doughy. At least their coffee was on par with the competition. And like most businesses these days, the tip jar and the tip screen will be waiting for you. ***1/2 stars overall experience. Plenty of photographs for added insight. read more

I ordered a 20oz hazelnut oat latte and was not greeted till I was at the window for at least 10 minutes to then be asked if they could use soy milk. Drink was not ready, no communication, and I was in line at 7:40am and at 8am still no beverage. I enjoy coming here and have never had an issue. Really enjoyed this spot. I had been a few times before but never really paid attention to how cool the place is. First of the staff is super nice and very welcoming. The guy who took my order was very friendly and explained things perfectly when I asked about breakfast stuff. The drink selection is good with plenty of options while still being easy to choose. I got a breakfast taco and it was ok. Not gonna say it was the best but it did the trick. I orders a mocha blendie I believe is what it's called. Very good I rather enjoyed it. Austin Grind has been our neighborhood coffee shop since 2005, only it went under a slightly different name until October 2020. I am so happy to hear that they have been able to not only keep their small business going during this tough year, but also to break away from their original franchise agreement to become an independent shop. We usually go through the drive-thru when we are picking up coffee, but the indoor tables and sidewalk seating areas have hosted many meetups of friends, running groups, and work groups over the years. How's the coffee? Well, I'm not a huge coffee nerd, but I do drink the beverage daily and Austin Grind tastes great to me. When I want a treat for home, I may pick up a pound of one of their special roasts, like today's Fazenda Sertao Brazil medium roast, ground just my style for my home coffee maker. They are clueless about food allergies! My Son had an allergic reaction that caused him to get an Epi-pen and go to the ER. Told the worker about his allergy and they said they could accommodate him. After taking a sip of his drink he noticed his mouth was tingling then asked again if it had his allergen. They then double checked and said it did. They offered to make him a "new drink"!!!! He gave them the drink back and said "no, I'm going to the ER". He contacted the manager about the incident. He never got a call back or an apology. read more

This coffee shop is fairly close to my apartment so I was excited to give it a try, but I left with mixed feelings. I ordered a 16oz Cold Brew with cream and vanilla syrup which went for ~$3.50. It wasn't bad, but it definitely wasn't anything I'd make a special trip for. The cold brew tasted a bit watered down and didn't have the bold, rich favor that I like. BUT the ice cubes were little balls which were cute! Austin Grind also had a wide variety of pastries, ice creams, and coffees to choose from and a huge indoor seating area. I was eyeing up a cinnamon roll but decided against it. They have wifi and large tables too if you're looking for a space to work, or you can opt for the drive through if you need to grab coffee quick and go. Aside from the food/coffee, this shop had the BEST service. The barista gave me several compliments and struck up an easy conversation with me while making my coffee. I left feeling genuinely appreciated, so kudos to the sweet girl at the front counter! Overall, I'd recommend Austin Grind if you're in a pinch or looking for a relaxing coffee shop to work at in the afternoon. It's a cute environment and worth a try. read more

Stopped in for the first time last weekend. I like cold coffee drinks like the Stargbux double shots or hot coffee with cream and sugar. The counter help was super friendly and took my order as I explained my preferences. I received my iced mocha latte and took off. The coffee drink was pretty good.
