the front of a sandwich shop

My first time at a Which Wich and it was pretty good. I walked in and thought that we had to self-order using a kiosk but was happy to see that they have a classic paper ordering system. Note - clean pens available. I got the veggie bowl with black bean patty, avocado, and other healthy stuff since I knew dinner was going to be a feast that night. I left happy.

Do you REALLY toast a veggie sandwich???

Okay... I've NOT had very good experiences with the places I've gone lately and NORMALLY, I really like WHICH WHICH as far as Sandwiches go; prefer them actually as they are HIGHLY customizable which I Love, and I don't DO sandwiches often but today I was Really craving some high quality carbs after my hair appt. Is it just me or does customer service no longer include MAKING SURE my order is correct BEFORE ringing me up and charging me and Granted, I Probably Should have gotten my receipt TRUE. But she seemed so SURE and DIDNT asked not ONE question!! So I sit down n remember hey. I did t get my drink cup. So I walk back up n ask. She tells me I didn't order a drink. Yes ma'am I did. She wants to argue with me!! No you marked it off. No ma'am. I ordered a large drink. Look at my order. You crossed it out. No, I crossed out the regular n marked the large. (WHY ARE YOU ARGUING WITH ME???) Correct response - oh sorry ma'am I didn't charge you for a drink let me get that for you. I don't MIND that I wasn't charged for it, but NOW I DO SINCE YOU WANT TO ARGUE ABOUT IT!!! ‍‍‍ Then when I get my food no smile, no have a nice day... and at this point I'm scared she spit in it so I don't even want to WANT it. she Does tell me someone is making my daughters shake tho... I thank HER n leave So when I get home I open my sandwich and... I ordered a Garden Party (all veggie) and it's (wait for it) TOASTED!!!! Who Does that??? The lettuce is wilted, cheese melted, avocado is hot; the bread is toasty n THAT'S great but everything else is DESTROYED!!! I just scraped everything off n ate the toasty bread. I'm so SAD I want to cry!!! But I was so HUNGRY I didn't want to waste ALL of it. The toasted bread was great as I expected but I was REALLY looking forward to my veggie sandwich. Just So disappointed rn.

Um now they have cash back until August? What? Lol been coming here since it opened! Which wich is 1 of my favorite sandwich places. Idk it's just fresh and big. They stuff it. Granted I always get the make your owns. I just like to pick my own ingredients and it has a bunch. You can literally put everything and come out with a humongo sandwich. A large is really big. Enough for 1 hungry oerson totally shareable for 2 lighter eaters. The bread is always nice and crisp when toasted. I like that. Their ingredients were always fresh and tasty. I like their lettuce, tomato, onion, mushroom, roast beef Dijon:) always get that and it satisfies. They make it on the spot and courteously too. Like this location. Close to home and convenient tutor to gos. Thistime it was for a picnic on the greens for Austin Symphony. It was perfect! Thanks!

order bag. notice DOUBLE MEAT, BACON, filled out.

i walk into this location relatively frustrated anyway, as the location by my house was unexpectedly closed today. when i arrive, there are only two other people, NOT BUSY AT ALL, great! i do my normal business of filling out how i want my food made, checkout goes good. i pay for everything (INCLUDING THE EXTRAS I HAD SPECIFIED, mind you), wait, go home with my food. i finally go to eat, and i'm greeted with this. 90% lettuce, hardly any meat, surely NOT the double meat OR the bacon i had paid for. and YES! i DID open the sandwich, because i had to in order to lighten the absolute load of lettuce on this thing. no bacon in sight, maybe a couple slices of turkey. i was never informed they were short or out of anything either, so there's no excuse. just insane. realize, at my normal location i am typically met with a good hunk of meat, as it's arguably the most important part of the sandwich, so this is genuinely shocking. i have no idea how this happened, but surely i will not be returning to this location for a long, long, LONG while, if ever.

I ordered a sandwich via Uber eats. I live alone and and wanted to make the most of my meal to make it stretch further since I ordered a large sandwich. In the special instructions for the sandwich, I wrote "cut in half and wrap separately and I'll love you forever! If not possible, it's ok!" I rarely ever get/look at receipts, especially with delivery. But I happened to look at my receipt this time and saw this. It's not much to some, but the small act of kindness absolutely made my day in a time of turmoil. Thank you, whoever you are. You made a difference today! I hope you see this. Ps - the sandwich was made exactly how I asked for it and was delicious as can be.

"No onions" listed on the order receipt, yet clearly there were onions on the sandwich.
    William S.

Please when making carry out orders ensure that you made them correctly. I now have to waste food and time because someone doesn't understand what No lettuce, no tomato, and no onions means. I especially regret tipping on my online order. Paying extra to get something I clearly do not want is not good customer service.

    A fly in the sandwich.

Found a fly in the tuna sandwich.... Let's just say the cleanliness and quality isn't very good.

Not my favorite. The mayo made my sandwich soggy. I was appreciative of the cordial staff. Restaurant could've been cleaner.

I love the green soft chairs, the tables, and the chef statue greeting you as you pull in front of the building. He's right there in the window. The bistro honestly takes your breath away. I love it! So in the last two weeks, I've been back exactly four times. My first introduction was the Croissant Scramble with chicken and veggies inside, with the Arnold Palmer. My friend got the Croissant Scramble with brisket. The presentation of the croissants when brought to the table blew me away. It was wrapped up in the cutest paper with the ends twisted. The topic of conversation was how good the croissants were. Before we left, we ordered some delicious cookies. The chocolate chips were yummy. So I went the following day and grabbed some pastries! One in particular was the Pecan Bar. The following week, another friend and I stopped in for the Chicken Pesto Omelet. I like that the fire-roasted bell peppers and onions are cooked, if that's the right word. But l have to tell you, the Mexican Hot Chocolate drink brings on the flavor, as does the ice-cold Mocha. Of course, we got the Pecan Bar for dessert. So yes, I went back yesterday for the Almond Croissant. I know, I know!

When I arrived, I was told the cake wasn't ready and was asked if I could come back the next morning--which obviously didn't work given the timing of the event. As a substitute, they offered me a pre-made cake from their display case and assured me it was chocolate like I originally ordered, just with a chocolate mousse filling. They refunded me $15 to account for the difference, and I felt pressured to accept since I needed something for the dinner that night. Unfortunately, the situation got worse from there. When we cut into the cake, it turned out to be confetti--not chocolate. Then, when we tried to eat it, it was clearly stale, dry, and inedible. No one touched it after the first bites. It completely missed the mark for what was supposed to be a special moment. What's especially frustrating is that I ordered from them last year for the same occasion, and everything went perfectly--that's why I trusted them again. This time, however, it was a complete letdown from start to finish. When I called the next day to request a refund, I asked to speak with a manager but was told that wasn't possible. Instead, I was told I would only be offered a partial refund because I accepted the replacement cake. I understand that mistakes happen, but the lack of accountability and quality here was really disappointing--especially for something as important as a birthday celebration.

I read the Yelp reviews before coming (more on this later). I only had the traditional bahn mi with three kinds of pork, including sliced and pate. The bahn mi was as it should be, a thinner sandwich bread, similar to a baguette but skinnier, with lightly pickled daikon and carrot, a cucumber, cilantro, and jalapeno. It was delicious. Which brings me to the Yelp reviews. A number of them are complaining that the bread isn't as large as a traditional French baguette. This is because a bahn mi doesn't traditionally have a larger sized baguette. A traditional bahn mi bread is inspired by a French baguette, because the sandwich is a fusion of French and Vietnamese cuisines, since the French colonized Vietnam and influenced some of their food and architecture. But it isn't traditionally as thick as a baguette, and is made of a mix of wheat and rice flour. The owner happened to be typing on his laptop and I talked to him about the bread. It is made in house, by him. It is made thin, but doesn't have rice flour. I was frankly grateful that it wasn't a normal sized baguette, because that would have scraped up my mouth and required having a lot more toppings to balance the ingredients with the bread, making a much larger sandwich than I would want to eat. In the US, a restaurant owner making a bahn mi often faces a choice between making their own bread in house, having a local bakery make it for them, or buying from a bakery that already makes French baguettes. So what people are used to eating isn't authentic, but is a cost-saving tradeoff made by using a regular French baguette, usually the cheapest of the options. So before you complain about the shape and size of the bread, please understand that this is closer to the real deal than you are used to and not a defect of the bahn mi bread served in this restaurant, despite being named "Baguette House". The rest of the sandwich is open to criticism and I agree with some that the pickled veg could have used more vinegar, but the bread was well-made, crunchy crispy outside, with a soft interior. Delish.

Okay Cuban Food in Pflugerville…read more Tropicana sets the standard for Cuban food in this town. I have not been to Havana on South Congress in years. Back in the day, Havana impressed as well. What about Chicho's? It won't thrill you. It won't kill you. * * * a) The menu at Chicho's is small. The menu at Tropicana is infinite. Chicho's is mostly a sandwich place. But they have some plates. Tropicana has everything. b) Servings at Chicho's are small. Small servings? At a Cuban restaurant? Yes - Miami has some Cuban restaurants with small servings too. But Cuban is where you often go when you are looking for some serious bellybusting. Havana Harry's is the model for ... your appetizer, your main course and your dessert are EACH as filling as a Thanksgiving Dinner. That is three Thanksgiving Dinners. The pork chop I got at Chicho's was cut thin. How thin was your pork chop, Samuel C? Funny you should ask, Yelp Reader. It was maybe a thickness of three on a delicatessen slicer. Probably closer to two. It was like eating a slice of ham out of an Oscar Mayer ham for little kids's lunch pack. It was nicely sauteed and had a sweet sauce. (Shades of the Oscar Mayer ham again). I ate my ration. There was an ice cream scoop's worth of congris. It was first rate congris ... the best thing on the plate. I was sad when my ice cream scoop's worth was gone. There were four maduros which counts as a legal but unimpressive serving. They were standard. There was a miniscoop of salad - but you know the salad you get as a side garnish in Mexican and Cuban restaurants. You don't eat it and it is no loss. * * * The other downside was the strawberry juice drink con leche. It was a standard industrialized strawberry pulp pack for drinks Which is par for the course when you order these things. Either something was funny with the strawberry pulp or something was wrong with the milk. 85 percent of the sips were okay. 15 percent were - wait a minute - something is wrong. The wrongness was inconsistent enough that I did not want to complain to management. But the more I reflect on it - the more I am sure I would not order another juice drink for a beverage. * * * Overall, my basic dishes were good enough that I could see eating there again if I happened to be in the neighborhood. But Pflugerville is full of amazing places ... And there is some great Yelp reviewing to be done in that town. And if I am hungering for Cuban ... there is always Tropicana. * * * Actually ... If I am hungering for Cuban ... There is always Miami. Eat at the best Cuban places in Miami And you will be so happy you will never want to eat again. Plus you will be so full it will be physically impossible for you to eat again. Ever. * * * No Cuban restaurant in Austin takes you to that extreme of happiness. But Tropicana does a good job of getting you 2/3 of the way there.
