If I would have gone to the bathroom before I ordered my food I never would have ordered anything from here. I firmly believe that a bathroom of a business tells you what kind of management is in the establishment.. Trash can were over flowing with trash. Paper towels left on the floor and the sink looked very disgusting. I was going to take a picture of the towel but I decided not to. Over all no restaurant should ever look like this because customers begin to think about other hygienic measures that aren't being met. i always try to find a firehouse when traveling because it's the perfect grab and go for a plane ride. their sandwiches never disappoint. i'm consistent with ordering their Italian, sub out the ham for turkey and all condiments on the side. my absoluteeeee fav. pretty good chip selection. this particular location appeared well kept and clean. the lady who took my order seemed like she was over work that day. she wasn't rude per say - but when i asked if i could mention her inmy Yelp review her demeanor/ mood completely lightened up. all in all, it was a quick and seamless experience. read more

Firehouse Subs is one of my favorite sub shops. The food is delicious (I recommend the brisket!) and there's a decent selection of options. I always add some more vegetables to mine from the list of free add-ons, and since they serve hot subs as well as cold you can get some great options like cooked onions and peppers that go with everything. The Firehouse theme goes through the whole shop with a locally-inspired mural of a fire truck in action, dalmatian spots on the tabletops in the eating area, stamped metal wainscoting, and even some authentic fireman's equipment hung on the wall. Plus, they donate significant money to firefighter charities every year, so that's appreciated. I had a small issue with the app that the manager went above and beyond to fix with a smile, so I'm very happy with the service. My food came out hot and delicious, and you can always look forward to a pickle spear with your sandwich too. And don't forget they have an exclusive cherry limeade flavor in the Coke Freestyle machine! read more

I went to this Firehouse Subs for the first time today. I always enjoy their food but today I not only enjoyed the food but the interaction with several of their employees. I was greeted warmly upon entering by a friendly employee. Katrina took my order and was extremely patient with me given they were very busy. There was a mix up on my order at some point and another amazing employee named Austin straightened it out quickly. As I waited for my order to be completed, I was noticing the camaraderie among all the employees that were working together to serve their customers. I've been to other Firehouse Subs and I always enjoy their food and their service. However, as a first time customer at this particular location I have to say I look forward to visiting again. I called my order in to pick up when I arrived. The order was not ready or started. Four employees there standing around gossiping. One person worked on my order. This was unprofessional and terrible to witness them bash the company in front of customers. Some of the conversations was very racially biased. They did not seem to care of my issue or the conversation being overheard. read more

The subs here are pretty good. I ordered the new Pastrami Reuben. It came with a decent amount of pastrami and was topped with coleslaw, which is a great combination. Something I don't understand is how they can get away with how much they charge for the sandwiches. I spent $17 for a large sub, chips, and a drink, no tip. That's pretty ridiculous, especially due to the fact that I finished everything and wasn't completely full. But, again, the food was good. Another thing that can use some improvement is the service. The three employees that were working had gloomy, non friendly faces the entire 10 minutes I waited for my sandwich to be made. No "thank you" or "you're welcome" throughout the entire transaction. This is my top spot to go to for subs! Love that when you walk in, they always greet you. They can be kind of pricey compared to other sub places. But the quality and freshness of the food, speaks for itself. Parking is pretty descent, inside is always clean. Now let's get to my favorite sandwich, that is going to be the Hook and Ladder. I get the regular size and chips and a drink which you can get for $11 and some change. On average it can take 5-10 minutes to get your food. Which is cool with me, because it's made fresh, and right there on the spot. Love that it includes a pickle, their pickles are delicious by the way! Right when you get the food, I recommend trying their hot sauce. They have different hot sauces to try and different levels of hotness and they are labeled 1-10 as far as level of spice. You can never go wrong with trying any of them. Please keep I mind, number 8-10 are super hot in my opinion but adds a little something extra to the meal! read more

I pass by this place all the time going to the domain. T-Mobile has an offer on Tuesdays that allowed me to get a free sandwich with the purchase of one item. I chose to go with their mac & cheese to purchase and try and I got a medium-size sandwich for free. It was worth a try. The sandwich had a little too much mayonnaise on it but overall very good. The mac & cheese was really really bland I brought it home and added some seasonings and it was OK. This is not my first choice for subs but it is a good choice. read more

Yeah.. not sure what to say about these guys.. A few summers ago I was lured here by the ridiculous amount of commercials they had going on the AM radio stations. It was a very odd experience.. no one was around but me while I ate and I was there around lunch time. The sandwich was big but nothing special was going on. I didn't review them at the time so I went back recently, and the same thing happened. Not many people kinda boring... the food kinda boring ... The lunch meats are as good as any place except maybe Jimmy Johns I'd say, but I don't know what up with the bread here. Its the most plain loaf of bread ever. Nothing exciting is going on with these sandwiches. The hot sauce aspect interested me but a moist sandwich covered in hot sauce is not so good. They have the option to steam the sandwich or something, but the idea of steaming a sandwich sorta disgusts me. Firehouse isn't bad... but it isn't great ... its just meh so that's what they get. Oh everyone should take note that putting great hot-sauce on something that's not so great really doesn't make it better. read more

I'll preface by saying I've only tried Firehouse once and it was delivery. I've been in a few times because I pick up for deliveries and it seems like a nice enough place, but can't really speak to friendliness and speediness. So because I ordered online, I couldn't ask how small a 'small' was and didn't find any info online, so I figured it was similar to a Thundercloud small. Unfortunately it was way smaller. Like half of a sandwich.... I wish they would have phrased it as a 'half' rather than small but that's not totally their fault. But the price compared to other sandwich shops doesn't validate it being so tiny. On the opposite end, the 'small' salad was pretty damn big, so that's a good thing but they only gave a very tiny portion of dressing. In the future if I get it again, because it was a good deal for the price, I'd ask for double dressing because what was given wasn't nearly enough. That all being said, the sandwich was very good and maybe I'll go back again, but knowing the value, maybe not. Paying nearly $8 for a normal sized sandwich that I'm going to chomp down in one sitting isn't the best deal IMO. read more

A long day of job hunting and errands left me hungry again after not that long. My initial quest was that Tuscan Chicken sandwich at Subway, but you always leave Subway SMELLING like Subway for hours. Luckily the location I went to was closed (during business hours, oddly enough). I ended up over at Firehouse Subs. Their current promo is the Meatball sub and I'd never had theirs, so I figured "What the heck?" and went with it. I will say this, I'm usually reticent to order meatballs in restaurants because you always get that odd consistency that you would get from Chef Boyardee. My mother totally kills at making meatballs, so I get judgmental. I have to commend Firehouse Subs on theirs. They aren't my mother's, but they were pretty satisfying. The staff are kind, albeit seeming like they're bored out of their minds. They get the job done, though, so I'll say don't worry about bad service. Came in today with my fiancée during my lunch and was told it would be a 20 minute wait. We decided to stay and order as I still had 60 minutes left for my lunch break. I am very much annoyed and disappointed with this location. The wait (for me) was more than 50 minutes AND there were 3 guests that received their food before me that were behind me in line. I asked one of the guys making the sandwiches about my order and let them know i needed to go back to work, my fiancé mentioned he wanted a refund as i was already late for work to which the guy replied "do you want the refund". My fiancée ended up telling him that he would come back for the order as he had to take me back to work. When he returned the guy had our sandwiches ready but then asked my fiancée if he still wanted the refund. My fiancée said yes as I did not get to eat and the guy then proceeded to remove the sandwiches and give the refund. The customer service was absolutely horrible. I'm appalled at the way this was handled by the gentleman. Firehouse is one of my favorite spots to eat but having had this experience at this location I will never be back again. read more

My co-workers and I came here for lunch. We stood in line and I observed the guy at the counter take orders. Every order took about 5 minutes. It was that slow. There were 3 people making the sandwiches and they didn't look busy at all, so it seems like the one person taking orders was the bottleneck. If you decide to come here, make sure you have plenty of time to spare. I ordered the smokehouse beef and cheddar brisket. It took a while for our orders to arrive. The sub was very tasty, though. The beef brisket was nice and soft and was topped with melted cheddar and a barbecue sauce. The food was great, but the wait was a huge turn-off. Maybe next time we'll order online. read more

I'm normally a Subway person but went here instead this time. My main problem with this was that the ordering process is a little confusing. Apparently they put everything on it by default, and if you want stuff like "no mayo" you have to ask for it. I was confused standing around wondering if they were going to prompt me for toppings when they got to my sandwich. In the grand scheme of things it all turned out all right. My other problem was wait time: I think it took about 7 minutes for them to make my sandwich, and there was no one in line before me. Would I go back? Probably someday, but I'll mostly stick with Subway for now. Not knocking the place or the people: I'm sure it was functioning as it's supposed to, I'm just more of a Subway person I guess. read more

We have been watching this sub shop go up behind the Domain for a few weeks, and finally picked up some subs this evening for dinner to-go. The service was very kind and friendly, though there were obviously people training and learning the ropes (it opened 5 days ago). We loved the signature hot sauces lining the counter for all to taste. Unique & neat concept. Also, they steam their sandwich meat -- which was also unique and tasty. It may sound odd, but it's worth a try. I will also mention that the sandwich-makers were very flexible with our picky requests, including cutting out 1/3 of the bread (to save on calories). I ordered an Engineer on Wheat (Smoked Turkey Breast with sauteed Mushrooms and melted Swiss) and the boyfriend ordered an Engine Company (Smoked Turkey Breast and Premium Roast Beef with melted Monterey Jack). The Engineer was a good sandwich, but the small amount of mushrooms were a little disappointing. I tasted only 3-4 bites with mushrooms...I was expecting a mouthful of mushrooms. The Engine Company was a fantastic sandwich -- the roast beef (which we usually like rare, but due to the steaming was a little more well done) was really flavorful. The owner was there, managing & helping with training the employees, and he took us on a tour of the place (including a spacious back patio with 10-12 nice picnic tables) while the sandwich-makers made our sandwiches. He seems nice & friendly, and genuinely interested in ensuring a positive dining experience for his customers. I got my food to go for my first visit here.i ordered a Club, and because I'd never been to a FS before, drink and chips were free. Nice! When I got back to the office, I pulled my sandwich and pickle out of the bag and couldn't fathom why there were 10 napkins in there too! I mean, I got a club, not a meatball. I frequent Thundercloud often and had a pretty well outlined idea what a club should be. When I opened my neatly wrapped sandwich, I understood the napkins. At first I was turned off by the almost soggy appearance of my club, but after trying it I quickly changed my tune. This club was stuffed with juicy ham and turkey. It was good, but not what I want from a club. However, after this experience and reading other reviews, I have a feeling I'm going to LOVE their (hopefully-as-juicy) meatball sub!!! **DISCLAIMER: THIS IS REALLY LONG BUT WORTH THE READ. Oh let me just tell you about the great experience I did NOT just have at this location. We arrived at around 10:40am -- it says they open at 10:30. We go in there and nothing is ready. They are like just beginning to set up. Don't say open at 10:30 if you can't manage to do so to begin with. The lady at the cashier was clearly a manger of some sort, but not from this location because she knew how nothing worked. Kept asking the staff how they do things. We walked up to place our order, and she asked us to give her a few minutes -- not a problem, I get it sometimes things are slow. However a few minutes turned into almost 15. She was sorting coins in the register....yelling at people in the back to turn off the water, and then asking people how much meat they had left and why they were going to run out. *Side note: don't go there this afternoon, because they are almost out of ham and turkey (not unusual for this location tho because one time they were out of bread)* So we are standing around, giving her the "minute" (15) she asked for, and another customer walks in. He walks over to the line and SHE TAKES HIS ORDER. HELLO! We have been standing around waiting on YOU to help us, but you didn't bother to let us know you were capable of taking our order, so instead you help someone who comes in after us. Normally, that kind of thing isn't a big deal to me, but she had us waiting on HER for 15 minutes. She takes his order, and then is taking ours. She literally wouldn't even let me or my boyfriend finish our orders before she cut in to tell us what comes on it and what don't we want on it with her little spin around display on the counter. Well, if you'd let me actually order, I would be able to answer all those questions without you being rude and interrupting me. So all I wanted on my sandwich was ham, cheese, mayo and deli mustard. Once I said no lettuce, tomato, or onion, she goes, "so just mayo and deli mustard?" And I said, "yes, and cheese!" And very snotty, she responds, "It comes with cheese! It's mixed up with the meat!" Like i was an idiot -- she also was waving her hand around in the air. Sorry, I just wanted to clarify, all she had to say was "Ok, got it!" Instead, she had a nasty attitude that continued for the rest of the time I was there, and I am sure is still continuing. We paid, she asked for a name, I said my name and turned a tad and she said to my boyfriend, with her lovely attitude "I couldn't here her because she turned!" Hello, right here, just say "I didn't get that." I got a drink. The man who ordered before we did as well and was standing at the drink machine that was not in proper setting for us to use. She was literally doing nothing and the man had to raise his hand to get her attention. I was standing behind the man, and instead of going around me with the nastiest tone she said "EXCUSE ME!" No, EXCUSE YOU for not knowing how to run a sandwich shop. She also had on her workout clothes. I'm sorry put on real clothes if you are going to come to work. I don't care who you are, what position, put on an outfit that is appropriate for your title. Because the image she gave off was lazy, inexperienced "manager", who rolled out of bed and thinks it's okay to treat your paying customers like they are beneath you. I guarantee you another manager or owner would never show up dressed like that and then sit there and take orders. We were waiting on our food and she just starts berating the staff for things that were not done last night when the place closed, even tho one guy said he wasn't even there. Can you... "because it wasn't done last night! And at least 10-15 more times. (No joke) "I refilled the soda syrup because it wasn't done last night" Well I got news for you, you did an awful job, I had to pour mine out. Yes, let me sit here with customers in here and be negative over and over because that is how you run a business properly and make your employees want to work harder. Nothing good is going to come out of that and you don't do that in front of customers! I mean COMMON SENSE. Because of this, I went up and asked her to make our food to go because I could not listen to her bitching any longer. And when I asked she had to ask what order because between the three of us who were in there and ordered sandwiches, she couldn't remember. She told the staff to "make sure the lettuce is green." And then when they were making a sandwich said, "no don't use that, take that off!" Okay sick, glad I didn't get any on my sandwich. You have customers in here and you are literally telling us every problem and micromanaging your staff even tho you don't even know how the place works. It's a shame because the food is good, but I cannot put up with that and I will not be back to this location, ever. I really hope they take this into consideration and get rid of her. CJ needs a raise. Straight up. Every time I come in he is always there with a smile and a welcome. He and his team have ruined me for sandwiches. I've tried going to other places and it just never measures up. It's never a situation where the food is done before I'm done ordering, and that just shows they take the time to carefully prep, measure and wrap everything exactly how I order it.
