My friend got the Croissant Scramble with brisket. The presentation of the croissants when brought to the table blew me away. It was wrapped up in the cutest paper with the ends twisted. The topic of conversation was how good the croissants were. Before we left, we ordered some delicious cookies. The chocolate chips were yummy. So I went the following day and grabbed some pastries! One in particular was the Pecan Bar. The following week, another friend and I stopped in for the Chicken Pesto Omelet. I like that the fire-roasted bell peppers and onions are cooked, if that's the right word. But l have to tell you, the Mexican Hot Chocolate drink brings on the flavor, as does the ice-cold Mocha. Of course, we got the Pecan Bar for dessert. So yes, I went back yesterday for the Almond Croissant. I know, I know!

Gotta start off with the positives, as always it is nice to see a restaurant with some quirks....here you write down your entire order on a sandwich bag, good thing when you don't want the cashier inputting your wrong order. Leaves the rest of staff free to make your sandwich faster. Got the plain Turkey with lots of sides, and most of ingredients were fresh and tasty. Now my only complaint would be for customer service. It may be bad form to complain when I used a coupon.....but this really peeved me. You know those $.99 regular sandwich coupons that they had on KVUE? I realize they may have made a bad business decision in running those, but suck it up and honor your deals graciously. I presented the coupon to the cashier and immediately got attitude "You'll probably only be getting the sandwich today huh???, that'll be $1.07" Only after tipping him $4 (as I always tip up to retail value) did he apologize. EVEN THEN, it still took 15 minutes for a staff of three to finish making the four sandwiches before mine. You may be Austin-y, but the service at Subway is much better. read more

The salad is comprised of grilled chicken, bacon bits, hard-boiled egg, diced tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, and mixed greens with a creamy ranch dressing on the side. I do not usually pour salad dressing on my salad, but instead dip my fork into the salad dressing and then add salad to fork. It is a eating trick I learned about 20 years ago. Salad doused with too much dressing, quickly becomes super unhealthy. It is amazing how many calories are in salad dressing and unhealthy fats. The greens were fresh and crisp. The chicken breast was tender, well-seasoned, and thinly sliced...it might even be mistaken for turkey if you did not taste it first. The different textures and flavors made the Chicken Cobb salad delicious to eat. Service was great...we were greeted as soon as we went up to the cashier and our food was prepared rather quickly. When we lived in Washington state, we rarely could purchase a lunch salad under $15. This salad was priced sub $10, therefore exceeded our expectations. The salad was so large it was big enough for two means, so even a great value. Schlotzsky's interior is eye-catching and colorful. It has a rather whimsical and inviting persona. Also, there is ample free parking. Schlotzsky's is awesome for a quick high-protein salad.
