I had been to Which Wich before. This is another typical Sanwich place. Their "Gimmick" is you place your order on the bag that your sandwich goes into. I go in and order the Wicked combo. It is supposed to have 5 meats on it and 3 cheeses on it. The heavyset woman who took my order made me feel like I was wasting her time. You could see her eyes roll when I did not realize I could have 3 cheeses on my Wicked sandwich. I place my order, put my name on the bag and sit down. 3 minutes later my name was called but they called me "Milt, which is not my name and they the Margaret Cho look-a-like behind the counter started ragging on the lady who took my order like she was playing a bad joke on her. She finally calls my name. I joke with her that I have been called worse. She gives me a half hearted smile and gives me my food. Overall the sandwich was good. I was a little disappointed because I have gotten a sandwich at Firehouse subs and they have put more meat on their sandwiches than this 5 meat Wicked. The break is ok. I am not a big fan of the soft on the inside, hard on the outside type of bread. I will agree portions are small. You should be able to choose sandwich sizes when you go like Quiznos. Again this place hits the $10 threshold for lunch time faire. (It seems like every time you goto lunch at a sanwich place or even a hamburger place, it is at least going to be $10 which seems to be the magic dollar number.) I do miss the Philly Connection. They had a descent Cheesesteak using similar type bread but it worked because the meat was juicy and got soaked up into the bread. Other than he service was less than desirable, this place was not bad. I would probably go back, but not to this location. Lunch rolled around a few days ago and the crew at the office was gathering up in a line, as we do every day. "What's on tap for today?" I asked.. "Witch Witch" they replied. Allright, what exactly is "Witch Witch"? Some kind of local Wiccan buffet restaurant? Well, not quite. It is of course actually "Which Wich" as in "Which sandwich do you want today?" The restaurant in many ways is a typical sandwich deli-type restaurant, though the ordering experience is a little different. You take a bag, mark all the goodies you want on the side and send it down the line. The professional sandwich makers go to work then, putting it all together. The experienced customers know to write their name on the front and back of the bag: the front so they know which name to call; the back so you can watch the progress of your cration as they scoot the bag along the ropeline. You'll get it when you go. Anyway, for a new twist on an old process, try out Which Wich. I think most will find the food good and the rest will find it at least acceptable. Definitely good for a few visits, even for the most discriminating eaters. read more

I have been to this place 4 times and every time my order has been wrong. At first I thought it was me making a mistake, the wrong bag, maybe I checked the wrong box, so the next time I went back, I made sure I was doing everything correctly, no 'type' of sandwich listed at the top of the bag, VEGGIE in huge letters, double checked all my choices. I get back to my office and bam, huge piles of meat. I am a vegetarian, not like beat your head in over you eating meat or anything, however I was totally offended when I was told to scrape the meat off manager. Then I was told they couldn't give me my money back because their computers didn't work that way. These maybe the best sandwiches in the world, however I wouldn't know because they cant get the order right... ever. If you want a good sandwich, go to keifer's deli, great selection and nice people. I had never been to Which Wich until I moved (back) to Austin from California. Discovering one nearby, I thought I'd check it out (since I'd yet to stock the new pantry.) I liked the ordering system - I appreciate the custom building options, and the cool paper bag. Food-wise, I was left feeling "meh." Maybe it was the fact that I wasn't expecting a warm sandwich, or that I should have added something else to my combo...but it just wasn't that great. Considering the near $10 I paid, I would have expected a bit more from my overall experience. Two things that will probably get me to go back and try again, are their ice (like Sonic's) and their friendly staff. Food was fine as usual. 2 thumbs down for customer service though. I joined their Vibe Club and got am email with a coupon for a free sandwich with purchase of drink. The coupon says to show the email in it's entirety and present photo ID. I showed them the email on my iPad and they refused to honor it. She said that I had to print it off because there were some "codes" that show up when you print it. For Christ's sake lady, if you're gonna lie to me don't insult my intelligence with something so ridiculous. There are no barcodes or other unique information on the coupon aside from my name and the expiration date. Which reminds me, the coupon expires in 2 days so I won't have a chance to use it. I have now been here several times. For the most part, this is an overall good location. Service sometimes varies from really top notch to just ho-hum earning a buck. Restaurant gets 4/5 on cleanliness... every once in a while a table is dirty. It is crowded around lunch hour, but hardly ever so at dinner time. I really like the selection method of the different bags with core ingredients and then being able to select all of the fixin's from a wide variety of items (you can even have CheezWhiz if you like...). I personally put the crispy onion strings on almost any sub I get. None of the meats are whole in nature - they are all either ground or deli meat style. I like the Chicken Parmigana personally. The pork tenderloin is just so-so and didn't taste so hot when warmed up. For overall cleanliness, decent service and wide selection I would give it 4 stars. I would pick this chain over Subway, Quiznos, etc. read more

Atmosphere: It's a sandwich joint....that looks like and feels like every other sandwich joint! Service: It's self serve. Order your sandwich, pick it up when it's done and handle your own refills. Voila. Food: I ordered a Hula Chicken sandwich and added whatever I wanted to add. i also got a strawberry shake add banana. Food took a little longer than I would have expected from a sandwich joint, but nothing worth complaining about, but it was long enough to notice. The sandwich was delicious though! The vegetables were fresh, good amount of meat and pineapple, perfectly toasted! The milkshake was equally as fantastic, I made the mistake of getting a large without knowing how large it was....and they sure do mean large! Overall: I plan on going back, with how good the food is and the convenience of it's location it's hard to pass up! There's barely any avocado, one slice of bacon, and they used the wrong sauce. For it being a $9 sandwich this is NOT worth the price. Definitely will not be coming back to this location. I like this place. Simple, easy idea. Grab a bag, write what you want and you're done. The bread has a crispy outside and soft inside. The portions are perfect if you believe a foot long sub is too much. I also appreciated the sealed pickle spears. Who doesn't hate pickle juice all over their bag? Everything else is typical of a sandwich place. The BLT would be a good starter. I would also suggest staying away from the sweetened tea. It's tooth-achingly sweet. read more

You walk in and decide what type of sandwich you want. Grab a paper bag and mark off all the ingredients you want added to your sandwich, sign your name at the bottom of the bag and step up to the counter. Hand over your bag, pay the cashier, and sit. I am not sure why, but every time I order a meatball sub with cheese (nothing fancy) I always wind up waiting for what seems to be an eternity. I'm not sure why it's so hard to make this particular sandwich. The wait sucks for me, but the food is generally pretty good. I think they are a little high priced for a sandwich. I've always enjoyed eating here. They have a vast selection of sandwiches and a ton of different sandwich toppings at no extra charge. I usually get the Buffalo Chicken sandwich and it's always delicious. I like this place because it's consistent, fairly priced and has a chic modern look. The downside to this place is a) the portions are small (5-6 inches) b) the wait is slightly longer than quiznos, subway, or thunderclouds. OK. so my first trip to Which Wich! I like the order process. It is nice to fill out what you want (and hope they make it right) :) Very different. And it works. Food took a little longer to come out than I expected it to, being there were no people there. But no biggie... I was with my BFF, so we talked and laughed..All good. I ordered a Chicken pesto (reg) toasted with: Lettuce Tomato vinegar Oil banana pepper Feta oregano pepper And a chocolate Malt I get in my car and much to my surprise... the malt is DELICIOUS! Not sweet at all. I love malts, but always feel sick after the smallest one. Not this one! Oh man, was it good or what? YES! My ONLY complaint with it... is I wish it would have been thicker. I like thick malts.. but hey, the taste made up for it. Now, if they make it thicker.. well... I am not sure I could explain how much I would love it! I return my office and open my bag.. nice. It is wrapped in foil (keep it warm, thank you) and then it is wrapped in paper...thank you again. no mess! I immediately notice my bread. There isn't that much of it. I didn't have to SCRAPE out the insides like I have to at Subway (I dont like subway). It was toasted, not crunchy, not thick and gooey, not rubbery...just a nice toasted bread. The inside of the sandwich (meat and veggies) was 4x thicker than the bread! Oh yea! I take a bite... WAHOOOO! Seriously? All that flavor packed in a sandwich? Yummy! Veggies were fresh. Nothing was overbearing... the condiments were all just right... a little of everything I asked for. Creamy, not dry, nothing "running" out the sides. Just delicious! A nice amount of meat that was NOT flooded out by lettuce (like Subway) and the meat was not a frozen cheap tasting meat (like Subway)... it was good. I enjoyed it Over all: I will go back. Oh which wich I come here for lunch usually when I want something not too bad and I don't want to walk into a subway and smell like bread afterwards. It's a fairly easy concept you go in find a brown bag with the meats you want and you bubble in what you want on your wich. Then you pay wait and boom a sandwich. It has gotten fancier since they first open they have different size sandwiches now salads, wraps etc. I usually tend to go to the bac-hammon which is a ham sandwich with bacon you can add lots of veggies lettuce, cucumbers, mushrooms, tomatoes, etc. lots of sauces and you just make it your own. Today I went for my usual sandwich and I bubble everything in and I bite into it and it's not the right sandwich...they put the wrong meat in it. But it wasn't bad and I was running out of time for my lunch break so I ate it and moved on. Lunch cost me right around 10 bucks if I want chips and a drink. Overall it's nice and it's quick for lunch and it's not too pricey much rather prefer this place than subway. read more

Normally a very yummy sandwich shop, but when the workers mess up their register and become very rude about it and act like it's your fault and you are an inconvenience, it turns into a whole new experience. It's.... a Which WIch. I always order Chicken Pesto because when I find something that's perfect I stick with it. They always get my order right, and it's always ready in about 5 minutes. Compared to other sub joints like Subway it tastes better, looks better, and at least feels a little healthier. If you're weird like my boyfriend you can put ridiculous names on your bag... and giggle like a middle schooler when they call out to tell you your order is ready. Very good sandwiches! While they're not 5 dollars for a foot long, you can fill your sandwich up with so many ingredients for no extra charge that you'll definitely get your money's worth. You're pretty much left on your own when it comes to choosing ingredients for your sandwich, so if you like choices then this is your place. If you believe in the sanctity of a traditional gyro's recipe, however, then you might want to find a sandwich joint with a more fixed menu. It's a chain sandwich shop. They aren't trying to be the crazy shop in downtown atx or anything. They do a thing and do it pretty darn well. I have never had anything but great customer service at this location. The staff are friendly, fast, and fastidious. Generous with sandwich bits and happy to make special requests happen. Big fan of crushed ice. I usually get the thank you turkey or the buffalo chicken but explore on suggestions from the crew every now and then. Clean, decent, and consistent. Can't ask for a whole lot more from a sandwich shop than that. read more

We live down the road from this Whichwich and its not without issues, but this place saved me. I had my gallbladder removed at the beginning of the year and it was so hard to find anything quick to eat that didn't immediately go through me. So I started frequenting this location because it was close, the sandwiches were good and easy on my stomach. Now I walk in and the staff is so friendly, they remember me and my husband and talk with us. With any place if you go long enough you'll run into errors, but the quality has never faltered. I enjoy the people who work here and I am grateful to this location. read more

WORST Which Wich experience I have EVER had. EVER. Should have just ordered Jimmy Johns. I really don't enjoy giving bad reviews, but this was just plain upsetting. I told them extra tzatziki sauce on my sandwich, extra veggies and you put NO SAUCE on my entire sandwich and almost NO VEGGIES..I am not happy. Almost cried. ok. to be fair. i'm not a sandwich person. But, every now and then i get a craving. Which-wich seemed like a good choice when i wanted to indulge. The bread is good and all the extras are cool. They make sandwiches. Pretty decent ones at that. This review is about service. Because this is Austin and we have lots of choices. We can go anywhere for anything. And if we are lucky we may just stumble upon supertotalawesomeness. This was not one of those times. i went to which-wich on Parmer. I pick a bag and fill in the circles designating what my choices for a sandwich are, in Red Sharpie... ok. So. Now i approach the counter with said bag. *Keep in mind this is YOUR "ordering set-up Which-Wich! The guy at the register just stares at me. Like he doesn't know what to do. .....Uh... Now is probably when i should tell you that this gentleman was also the MANAGER. I could tell by his wearing normal clothes (jeans and a trendy sweater). No Which-wich hat and polo for this guy. Ok. so. he just stares at me when i get to the counter and hand him my order. He finally snapped out of it and realized that he was supposed to use the cash register and enter my order. THANKS MR. MANAGER! but before all was settled the BF threw a curve ball. "What sauce/dressing is good with the crab salad? *OK. the BF likes crab salad. Let's not judge* Mr.Manager Man just stares at him. for like, an uncomfortable amount of seconds, stares at him. This should not be a hard question for a man that runs a sub-shop that sells Crab salad! I had a turkey bowl that was super fresh and delicious. The build your own salad options are awesome (fresh spinach, avocado, pecans, dried cranberries, croutons that aren't too hard, etc.) The balsamic vinaigrette is very good. Which Wich provides you with the usual, expected, basic sandwich. They make it super easy to customize your own order and the staff is pleasant. Pretty standard sandwich place for the corporate 9-5 peeps out there (AKA...me). I throw Which Wich in my lunch rotation when I get bored with all my other go-to places. read more

I love sandwiches. I love Which Wich. The wait at this particular location has never been very long for me, but then, I'm never in there at normal lunch/dinner hours. The sandwich quality varies a bit depending on who is making the sandwich, unfortunately...most of the time I wish I had more peppers. Last week my sandwich was WAY overstuffed with avocado - good thing I love avocado! But overall, Which Wich is great, and the place doesn't make you smell like Subway does. Plus, they have fruit punch Hi-C...I feel like a kid again. read more
