Got the Italian on wheat (minus the mustard and pickles) and it was tasty. I like that the bread wasn't too voluminous and didn't overwhelm, just complemented. They had a really expansive menu that included a secret menu (it comes up when ordering online). I wasn't a huge fan of the kids' grilled cheese. They use the same bread as for their sandwiches (makes sense) but it's pretty dense for a grilled cheese so the cheese gets lost. My kids weren't that impressed and I wasn't either. First time trying Snarf's Sandwiches and we were really impressed. I had the Italian with lettuce, tomato, hot peppers, oil, and seasoning added. It was absolutely delicious. The 7-inch sandwich was filling because the bread is nice and wide, and everything tasted really fresh and high quality. We also had the rotisserie chicken and Swiss with added hot peppers, which was great too. The pickled peppers really add a lot to the sandwiches, they even sell jars of them at the counter. I also tried the potato salad, which had a creamy mustard style base with a little sweetness to it. Really good alongside a hot sandwich. Decided to try Snarfs on a whim today, I normally don't venture out for sandwiches at all given it's something you can always make yourself at home (and I work at a sandwich shop) but Jersey Mikes just got rid of their chicken salad sandwich so I couldn't pick one up and it's the only sandwich I would pay money for. Something in my soul needed a sub though so I decided to look up nearby shops and oh boy am I glad that I did. Snarfs came up and they had great reviews, their meatball sub looked delicious so I picked one up after work and it was great. It didn't feel too heavy and it tasted so good. After experiencing them for a Yelp Elite Week event, we excitedly were in the area again and had placed an order for pickup via their app. We're already die hard Snarfs Fans since we first experienced their first Austin location down on South 1st street and every location we've been to since continues to hold the same standard of deliciousness, consistency, quality and great service! This location is quaint inside, but still has a decent number of tables to choose from indoor and outdoor. Parking is super easy and so is ordering via the app for pick up! We ordered the Italian Supreme with added ham and sautéed peppers. It was ready when we got there and was perfectly hot, toasty and LOADED when we picked it up! If you haven't downloaded their app to order check it out cause they also offer rewards and specials! They also have gluten free and lots of vegetarian options as well! You should always have your eyes open for golden nuggets popping up out of nowhere. We discovered a sandwich shop in our neighborhood...pleasantly surprised they also sell salads. We decided to eat healthy this evening...ordered salads - chicken salad for the hubby and Cobb salad for me. Both were delicious! Eric , our server, was friendly and told us that it was a nickname for the owner. He said he liked to snarf down sandwiches. I said I thought that word was scarf. He said close enough and we both chuckled. Apparently, Snarf's Sandwiches on Research Blvd. has been open about a month. Now for the salads...they were not your typical salads. Chicken Salad -soft shredded chicken with mayonnaise, mustard and pickled peppers, green leaf lettuce, tomato, cheese sticks, chopped bacon, thinly sliced onions, seasoning & oil served with ranch salad dressing. Cobb - Green leaf lettuce with big chunks of avocado, American & provolone cheese, tomatoes, hard-boiled egg, onion, and chopped bacon served with raspberry vinaigrette salad dressing. The chicken salad was non-greasy, extremely flavorful and super soft...not what you expect. Salads normally have shredded cheese, however, both our salad had salad sticks. The combination of all the ingredients made the salads very enjoyable to eat. There were a constant stream of to-go order pickups. We were the only customers dining in. Thus, it was a vey laid-back environment. There is ample free parking and indoor seating. We will have to return to try the sandwiches. read more

We were lucky enough to be invited to the Yelp Elite Event at the Snarf's on Burnet opening around a year ago, and we were utterly impressed. We've since returned there too many times to count, so imagine our delight when we discovered that they've opened a new location a mere mile and a half from our house! Three cheers! At our initial experience on Burnet, hubby had the Italian, and I had the BLT. Both were superb, and we've reordered them multiple times. Each time has been equally excellent! Today at this new location, we're opting to branch out a bit because why in the heck not? I went for the French Dip, while Hubby got the California. It's not on the menu, but it has bacon, turkey, avocado, sprouts, mayo, lettuce, and tomato. Both were absolutely incredible, y'all! The French Dip was just perfectly tender, unctuous, warm, and soul-pleasing, and Hubby's California was full of delicious crunch and flavor. This place honestly has the best sandwiches! The bread on the outside is crispy and the bread is soft on the inside. The bread is not thick which I love and the inside of the sandwich is the center focal point. I always thought sandwiches are pretty boring but Snarf's definitely changed my mind. You order at the counter and when your order is ready they will call you name. You will pick up at the side counter where you can literally see the chefs assemble your well thought out sandwich. But what was impressive was that I opted tor a gluten-free bread and it was one of the best I've tried. The chips selection is not bad and the white chocolate chip cookie is good too. I've been a fan of Snarf Sandwiches (and burgers) for decades since living in Boulder Colorado where the first one opened back in the mid 90s. So any time a new one opens in Austin, I check it out! As I walked in, I was greeted by a big smile from the young lady at the counter. I told her i usually get the meatball parmesan sandwich and wanted to try something different with meat and she steered me to the Prime Rib & Provolone. I got my soda, chips, and macadamia nut cookie and sat down for a few minutes and then was ready faster than i would have expected for lunch time. The cut of meat for the prime rib was perfect and cooked just slightly, as it should be. A little brown on the edges but pink, flavorful, and moist in the most of the rest of the meat. When I got it, my first impression was that it was thin, but i forgot Snarf has that thin bread (one reason that elevates them over other places)... so it was packed with meat and I did leave full. The speciality sandwiches are a bit more pricey, but trust me when I say you aren't getting a typical fast food sandwich shop type sandwich and its worth it!! I completely forgot to eat the cookie till this moment and the white chocolate macadamia nut cookie is soft and delicious even 6 hours later, just how we made them when i was growing up in Hawaii (yea before i moved to Boulder). They have plenty of tables inside and outside. So you shouldn't have trouble finding a spot to sit. And it's right off the exit near 183 and Anderson Mill with lots of parking! read more

I recently had the opportunity to experience Snarf's at their new location on Research and Anderson Mill. I have never heard of Snarf's but based on reviews it looked like a great sandwich shop. Spoiler alert it is! Their menu is drool worthy and I had a hard time trying to decide which sandwich to order. It was a coin toss steak or Italian. Italian won! Full disclosure I'm a Masshole Sub sandwich snob especially when it comes to Italian Subs or how we used to refer to them as Spuckies. Detour alert: I grew up eating subs from Italian grocery stores where the sub roll was placed under the meat slicer and fresh meat was sliced right into your sandwich. Snarf's Italian Sub is very good! The bread was fresh and I loved that they include hot peppers. This sandwich arrived stuffed with salami, pepperoni, capicola AKA gabagool, mortadella, and provolone. I nixed the mustard, mayo. and lettuce, and added oil. Service was friendly, and when I was leaving, they thanked me for coming in. Dis & Dat: There is plenty of parking, so no worries there. There are plenty of tables to enjoy your dine in. I love Snarf's and I'm so glad they're expanding more throughout Austin! I've never had a poorly made sandwich from here, and the staff that made my sandwich was so sweet and wrapped it up so nicely. Even when I got home, my sandwich held up really well and it had the perfect amount of sauce and toppings. The wheat bread was toasted, and every bite was a perfect bite. This new location is really spacious, and there's a lot of seating! Their Sprite is also so crisp, which is my sign of a really good drink dispenser machine. read more

Wow. These sandwiches are amazing. Walked in and was immediately greeted by the sweet cashier. It is Labor Day and super busy but I did not feel rushed. It's...okay. So first things first, with the pro, you do get a toon of food on the sandwich. I'll 1000% give them that. Bread was a bit dry but good and the workers were really friendly when I went in. It's a cool location and yeah, fine enough. Here's the issue. With all that portion size, there's just a lack of flavor. Everything tasted dry and while I'm by no means saying the ingredients were out of date, they just tasted sorta cheap and not necessarily fresh either. In my roast beef sandwich the only thing I really could taste were the cucumbers. It was fairly disappointing, considering the pretty big cost(regular sandwiches are competitive priced tho), off the menu or speciality ones skyrocket. Overall, I'm not sure if I'd go back, but if I do, I don't think I'd dole out the extra cash on a pro, and try their other sandwiches to see if the one I got was just a dud. This could be a really cool place to go, because they nail the portion size, but right now I think I'd rather go to Firehouse for a little less with more flavor. read more

I was absolutely delighted by Snarf's! The sandwiches were enormous, expertly made, and absolutely delicious. Both the Italian and the turkey were stacked with flavor. We added all the topping which were well appointed, fresh and crisp. The chef salad was equally gorgeous; stacked with fresh cut deli meats, veggies, sliced egg, tomato! This felt like an NYC deli experience with warm bread and perfect dressing! So glad my daughter and I remembered to give Snarf's a try ... I will definitely keep this shop on my rotation! read more

As a patron of other Snarf's in Austin I was really encouraged to see this one opening farther north. I gave it a try today with some friends -- intending to impress them with this great new sandwich shop. I should have checked this location out first. We got home and not a single one of our orders was correct. For example, they forgot the toppings on my sandwich. It was dry, tasteless, and boring. When we first went in the woman at the register didn't seem to know what she was doing, and she also kind of acted like she was doing us a favor to take our orders. They were not busy and there was plenty of staff on hand so none of this was because they were rushed, overwhelmed, or understaffed. TLDR -- they need to look at the history of restaurants in the Anderson Mill shopping center. They will not last if they don't step it up a couple of notches. read more
