Mr. Brew Coffee is tucked into kind of an odd spot along the 183 frontage road, but honestly? That entire area has been lacking a genuinely good coffee spot, and this place fills that gap beautifully. I stopped in on one of those gorgeous sunny Austin days where you just need to sit outside with something cold in your hand, so I opted for one of their iced specialty drinks. I cannot remember the name of it (which pains me because it was THAT good), and unfortunately it isn't listed on their online menu. All I know is it was incredibly refreshing, delicious, and exactly what I wanted that day. One sip in and I immediately knew I'd made the right choice. Their menu is surprisingly large, and the space itself is decorated in a fun, comfortable way that makes it easy to settle in for a while. My friend and I grabbed a spot on the patio to soak up the sunshine after what felt like endless rain, and we ended up staying for hours. And honestly? The patio deserves its own praise. Somehow there always seemed to be a sunny spot for me and a shady spot for my friend no matter how long we sat there talking -- which, in Texas, is a real talent. When we first arrived around 11am, the traffic noise from 183 wasn't too noticeable at all. By around 3:30, though, it definitely got louder as traffic picked up. Still, that's more a location issue than anything the coffee shop can control. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked, the staff was genuinely friendly and welcoming, and despite how long we stayed, not once did we feel rushed or like we needed to wrap things up and leave. That kind of atmosphere is rare these days and makes a huge difference. This ended up being one of those unexpectedly lovely afternoons where you look up and realize several hours have passed without noticing -- and honestly, those are usually the places worth returning to. read more

Honestly, I have never noticed this place before and just by chance I came across it this morning. From the moment I walked it I felt welcomed. I was greeted by Neri who helped me decide what I wanted to eat. She was very knowledgeable and pleasant to talk with. I didn't get coffee since I was coffeed out at the time. I did order 2 breakfast tacos. They had 3 different ones and I got the bacon, egg, and cheese. They have tamales and sandwiches too. My tacos were filled to the brim with lots of egg. They were perfect to fill my tummy. The place is clean and quite large inside. Plus they have a mirror on the one wall which gives the appearance of being even larger. One of the tables has a chess set on it. There is outdoor seating and a drive-up window and ample parking. A comfy place to sip on a coffee or to grab a quick bite. Mr Brew Coffee is a cozy, coffee shop where you can sit, relax, and have a wonderful cup of coffee or specialty refresher drink. The venue has a writable wall where you can give yourself a shout out or leave a nice quote. There are lots of seats and tables for you to sit. Additionally, they have a chess board, where my niece and brother engaged in an intense game of chess. It also has a working AC to give you a respite from the heat. But, before their chess game, we walked up to the counter. The baristas were really nice, and patiently explaining the menu. I was melting from the short walk to the cafe so I tried their Mango Madness Drink. It comes with Mango, cucumber, mango chunks and boba. The base is Topo Chico and it was blended. My brother tried the cold brew. Not pictured, but my niece also tried the tri-berry. Upon receiving the drink, I noted that was a little too sweet but nonetheless, it was very refreshing and just what I needed to combat both the heat and humidity. The baristas write inspirational quotes on the lid to help uplift your day and I found that to be a nice touch to enjoying a nice afternoon at this coffee shop. If you're speeding down Research Boulevard (which we totally never do) you might just miss your next favorite coffee spot. Mr. Brew Coffee is a cute and cozy bean shop that feels as if Dutch Bros and Starbucks had a baby. They have both dine in and drive thru options and if you opt for dine in they have a fun and inviting atmosphere to their shop. The coffee was decent and the service was friendly, although they only had 3 workers for what was a very busy Friday morning and I could see they were struggling a bit (which makes it even crazier that they were able to find time to put cute little messages on our cups). We ordered a pot of gold, latte with brown sugar syrup, and a hot chocolate. Their drinks are VERY customizable which is something we look for since there's a lot of value in going back and trying new things. We will mention that the hot chocolate wasn't very good, tasting very syrupy and just not all that. The coffees were great. We think Mr. Brew Coffee has a lot of potential. It has good bones and we will give it another try, maybe when they're a bit less busy. For now we'll settle on them being a bit above average for a coffee place but look forward to trying them again soon. read more

They are all amazing that work in there and incredibly friendly! Love a home grown business that is all about customer service. She told me she gets up at 5... Drinks are great! I'm not a coffee person and usually stick to the Red Bull based drinks and the two I've tried so far have been great. You get more flavor and actual fruit in your drink not like at Dutch bros where it doesn't taste as good. My fiancé also likes the coffee here and the cinnamon type of cake. There aren't nearly enough drive thru coffee options in town, and so when I found out Mr. Brew has one I was absolutely ecstatic. The convenience of a drive thru is perfect especially when you're on the go running errands or heading to work, AND you're supporting a local business! The menu is creative and full of fun flavor combinations, with even a large section for non caffeinated cold drinks that are perfect for summer or kids. They also had an extra holiday special menu full of delicious seasonal options. My partner and I ordered the Brewfire (white chocolate, hazelnut) and Gingerbread macchiato (holiday menu special), and we were both thoroughly impressed. Delicious drinks served to perfect warm temperature (it's an irk of mine when coffee gets served scalding hot and not ready to drink for a while or else your tongue gets burned), the level of sweetness wasn't too high yet still packed the flavors promised. It was delicious and creamy and just what I needed to start my morning (3 shots of espresso, yes please!). Mr. Brew is a newly opened coffee shop up north austin. I came with a friend to get some coffee, but they also had some energy drink refreshers. They're currently working on their inside store to get a more comfortable seating area. They also have a drive through which is so nice! The guy at the register was very helpful and great at explaining. Drinks were bomb and prices were fair. On my visit, they had little motivation quotes on the lids which was adorable.
