We would have never found this shop unless someone told us. This coffee shop is an absolute hidden gem in Austin. It is off of shoal creek in a strip mall in the back not visible from the Main Street. The shop is co-located with a yoga practice and this atomically generated the social vibe that is hard to find. They are serious about coffee here. They roast their own coffee beans here. There are several world-famous baristas (ask them about the world competitions they are part of) serving up the brew who are super knowledgeable about coffee and coffee late art. I highly recommend everyone come by and get the the taste of what the one of the best coffee shops in Austin! PS come on Sunday mornings for weekly Porsche car show in the parking lot! read more

What a great gem in North Austin! My friend found Flora on Yelp. We weren't familiar with this coffee shop prior to visiting. I was a little confused when I drove up because I didn't realize that it's inside the Retreat Yoga Studio. There is a neon sign on the window as well as an A-Frame Sign near the entrance to let you know you're in the right place. Parking is plentiful in the shopping center. Because it's in a Yoga Studio, there isn't much seating (though they did have tables set up outside). The vibe was relaxing and calm. I don't know what scent they had in there, but it smelled nice. This wouldn't be a place to study or work as the seating is limited and I didn't see many outlets. There was a small area with bar stools if you need a tabletop, but most of the seating was couches and lounge chairs. It's more of a place to relax or catch up with a friend. I love when coffee shops have signature drinks. I ordered the Cajeta Crème Brûlée Cappuccino. It was so good, but it came in a small cup. The smoky sea salt was delicious! I don't typically care for sea salt in beverages, but it complimented the flavors so well! I asked the barista to sub oat milk which they were able to do but he informed me that some of the ingredients had dairy (which was fine). I appreciated the disclosure. I was able to drink it without any issues. Because my drink was so small, I decided to order a second one. I went with the Ginger Snap Latte (with oat milk) and it was tasty! I didn't like it as much as the Cajeta Crème Brûlée, but it was really good. I was happy that it was served in a larger cup. The space had plants as well as merch like clothing, scented candles, soaps, and jewelry (which was beautiful). The bathrooms were very clean and had feminine hygiene products as well as a basket with bobby pins and hair ties. I love the attention to detail! We were there close to closing time (3 pm). I appreciated that one of the employees let us know that they would be closing without forcing us to get up and leave. It was on par with the gentle and calming vibe of the space. read more

Oh my word, this yoga coffee shop is darling. Parking lot is very large. It's not in a shopping center but rather in a destination business center. Doesn't exactly look like a coffee shop from the outside, as you see YOGA on the window. And RETREAT. But they do have coffee, and it's so darling inside. There is a long table right in the window that faces the parking lot. A small couch in the corner. And on the other side a couple chairs and couch and an egg shaped swing. They do sell a small selection of yoga clothes. And some t-shirts, and some gorgeous jewelry. Some candles, Sage bundles, and incense. The coffee menu is pretty straight forward. None of that nonsense 100 syrups, and 10 different milks. Just a really good quality coffee. I actually didn't order a coffee, but got a chai, with oat milk. I don't think I ever had a more delicious chai. Simply outstanding. The gentleman that took the order, and the barista that made the drink. Both were so nice and friendly, and personable. Actually after finishing my drink I spoke with the barista, who loved talking about the quality. Obviously enjoys his job. A hidden gem for sure. And even though it's a bit of a drive, I would come back here again as a meet up. I do want to mention, that even though it's small in the coffee shop, the noise level was low. Very easy to carry a conversation with someone and not have to yell to hear them. Or have to talk over other people around you. It' was a vibe for sure. And I loved it. read more

I kid you not I got into the coffee shop at noon, and my iced latte with strawberry lavender HOUSE-MADE (yummy) syrup was out and I was back to my car at 12:02. The guy working was SO nice. I stumbled in here while looking for a different Flora Coffee I had read about and realized I was at the wrong location but I don't regret it at all. The coffee was amazing. I ordered the "Not a Pumpkin Spice Latte," made with a sweet potato base, and it was hands down the best fall drink I've had in Austin. If you blink you might miss Flora Coffee. I drove once around the parking lot and stopped in at a hair salon in that same shopping center to have a nice gentleman point me over to the Retreat. Pro tip: Flora Coffee is located inside Retreat Yoga studio on W. Anderson Lane. Flora Coffee is a whole vibe. In line with the name Retreat, Flora Coffee is in the lobby of Retreat yoga studio, giving retreat vibes - basket laced mirrors, straw lamps, and even a wicker swing, i.e., Mexico meets remote retreat. If you are not Zen before entering Flora Coffee, your dial immediately turns up to Zen on steroids. They sell sage sticks known for helping to eliminate bad spirits, emotions, and energies. Flora Coffee also has a bookshelf, which seems to be older books. It appears they want you to relax and stay a while. The coffee shop is small, intimate, and probably seats 7-8 people. Now, for the coffee...after missing out on a Horchata donut on Monday, I had Horchata on the brain. Thus, I tried the Horchata latte. Based on a recommendation from Josh, my server, it was one of the coffee shop's favs. It was not what I was expecting, in a good way. Horchata is usually pretty sweet, however, my coffee had a hint of Horchata and not sweet at all. The Horchata Latte (non-dairy for those trying to eliminate dairy from their diets) pairs spices with espresso to yield a refreshing coffee that does not punch you in the gut. Loved it... They also sell aqua fresca, water, Stoke pressed juices, K-Tonic kombucha, Soco Ginger beer, Chobani yogurt, apples, La Patisserie pastries, and tacos from El Dorado next door likely to support primarily the yoga studio. Flora makes its own coffees and syrups. For the true coffee enthusiasts that have V60 pour-over options. Josh was one of the kindest and most personable servers that I have encountered in a while. We talked about Flora coffees and other coffee shops in the most positive manner. Flora Coffee appears to be a place where you sit down, relax and have a nice cup of coffee. Retreat permeates throughout the coffee shop. This appears to be the ideal location for an after-yoga chat, meetup with a friend or date or a place to come alone for some guarded peace and quiet. Recently discovered this hidden gem off W Anderson in a strip mall. They share the space with a yoga studio which adds to the vibe. The owner/operator was chill and kept the short line moving. Popped in here on a whim and were pleasantly surprised! The cafe is tucked inside a yoga studio with a few cozy spots to sit and enjoy the calm lobby. What a cute coffee shop! Located inside yoga studio (Yoga retreat) and opened for about a year this coffee serves some majorly great coffee. My husband who is a coffee snob loved his pour over Ethiopian coffee (for the real coffee extraordinaire they use a V60 for it - don't ask me what that means). They have different pour overs from different countries and some fermented beans whatever that means. I got the horchata latte decaf and that was delicious and thankfully to me not as sweet as an horchata so I really enjoyed it - a little horchata but not overly sweet and the espresso helps cut through it. And thankfully was non dairy which I appreciate. The barista was super nice and I saw him greeting everyone and having convos with people that came in. The seating area is tiny (maybe 12 people could sit at most?) but has very comfy chairs and great spot to catch up with a close friend or maybe even a first date you're not sure about. There are about 6 seats with a high long table if you need a table to study. They do have WiFi. Also the shop smells amazing - I think because it's tied to yoga studio but it smells like nature and very zen. Parking is free with it being located in a strip mall so plenty of parking all around. Food wise they offer pastries from La Patisserie they get each morning - we got the cronut which was good. They also have tacos from El Dorado but do sell out. They also have a small grab and go fridge with apples, Chobani Greek yogurt and kombucha. read more

There's a bit of sourness to the coffee but not in an overwhelming way as I usually don't like sourness to my coffee; I think in this case it meshes nicely with the sweetness of the vanilla. I've been searching for something specific and Flora fulfilled that longing. Mochas used to be my favorite but a lot of coffee shops use super sweet sauces that dont pair well with coffee, so when I saw Flora made their own syrups I wanted to try their mocha and it was exactly what I've been missing. The chocolate and coffee pair very well together, and its very dark tasting, and not sweet at all just enough sugar to balance the bitterness of chocolate and coffee. if you like dark chocolate and coffee I highly recommend it. read more

Im currently trying to go around Austin to try out their coffee scene and Flora Coffee was one of the spots that was on my list! The coffee shop seemed to be in the same place as a yoga studio but the interior was so cutee! It was one of those cafes where I'd want to come in on a weekend with a book in hand and spend the afternoon there. I wasn't sure what to order and the person who took my order explained very kindly all of the menu items that he recommends. Ultimately, I settled with the Horchata latte and it was amazing!
