Pretty coffee shop in the trendy Domain. We were wanting to stroll around and have an evening drink, so we stopped in Houndstooth for an Irish coffee. Irish coffee has hot coffee, Irish whiskey, sugar, and cream. There's no need to stir it, you simply sip the coffee through the cream. It was delicious. If you've been to the Buena Vista in San Francisco where they are famous for their Irish coffee, I would say you can't compare the two. I like my Irish coffee in a glass mug rather than a ceramic mug, and you can't beat the rustic, historic atmosphere of the Vista at the end of the wharf. This is a pretty decent coffee shop relocated in the central Domain ATX. The store is a bar + coffee + tea combined concept and they have plenty of coffee tables/working stations in addition to the bar seats. I like how they blend a lot of wood elements into the store design. The warm hues and lightings have made this cute coffee shop cozy and homey. It's usually not too loud during the daytime so it's also a good spot to work/study. I ordered black coffee and hot latte today and their unique taste of honey-processed beans really stands out. read more

Every time we visit Austin, we always come to this coffee shop at the Domain. It's a delightful place to stop by and get a drink. The place looks spacious, and the decor is very modern. Sadly it's still covid time. We can't sit inside and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere. So we just ordered to-go. If you like, you can sit at one of tables right outside. I got a pour-over Guatemala coffee upon recommendation of the barista. It was very smooth and not too strong with a nice nutty flavor. We also got a cold brew and a latte. For the latte, the barista made latte art. I thought they would do it only in ceramic cup. But covid has changed things. We also ordered something we don't normally do, which was popcorn. Instead of the regular butter flavor, we asked to sprinkle with salt and pepper. It tasted really good. It is a good substitute if you don't want a sweet pastry to go with your drink. I've visited a couple of other Houndstooth cafe shops in Dallas and also another location in Austin. We always enjoy the drinks and the friendly service. P.S. They welcome dogs. Great space in the domain. If you need a break from shopping or need a pick me up, this is probably the coffee shop of choice. There's a good amount of seating and love the vibe. Oh Houndstooth, I love you! This is my most frequently visited coffee spot due to the fact I am in the domain area often. The staff is always friendly & helpful & the drinks are delicious. I had a blueberry muffin a few weeks ago & it was incredible! I love their matcha lattes, but the base coffee is very good as well. Inside is always clean & has plenty of seating. They are very quick to get your order out even when they are slammed. Love this place & you guys have a customer for life! read more

What a great concept of place. Coffee with cocktails. I loved their Americano strong, yet smooth. And couldn't leave without trying the Danish. Of course my husband had the red eye, something interesting with tequila and other good flavors in it. Pet friendly and also casual. Great coffee shop in the area whether you're taking to go, looking for a space to study or get work done, or meeting up with friends. They have espresso drinks and drip coffee, chai, matcha, etc, just no pour-overs. Their espresso machine is super cool- it's made by Seattle company Mavam, and is totally under-counter except for the group heads sticking up, it's cool to be able to see shots being poured from the customer point of view. Great selection of beans, and they are all freshly roasted and really nice flavors. They also sell beans whole or ground, I bought beans from them and would again, making some great coffee at home this week. They also have a liquor license and are open til 8pm! Only got espresso shots and drip coffee, so I can't say how their drinks are, but I would definitely come back to check out their menu. Dog friendly! I ordered decaf but gave me coffee with caffeine instead. It is really irresponsible. I can't take in normal caffeine, now my heartbeat is over 110 and have heart palpitation now. Please be careful otherwise you hurt ppl's health. I never have issues when having decaf, I only have this issue whenever I have normal caffeine. I have to stop working this afternoon. I often go to this location for business meetings, or my Saturday morning fix. During warmer months Houndstooth has a lime iron or Arnold Palmer that is like a coffee meets tea masterpiece. I love me some Houndstooth. And now with this one in the Domain, it's the closest one to the house. I came in for some togo coffee early on a Sat morning. Easy to find street parking and pretty close to Red garage if you prefer garage parking or if street parking is filled. If you come early enough, it's a rather quick in and out. Picked up a vanilla latte for myself and a chai tea for the wife. They also carry pastries and Tacodelli breakfast tacos. The inside is nice and beautifully decorated with a lot of natural light coming through. The coffee is a little expensive but you are paying a premium for a great cup made with the best beans. They were quire overwhelmed with only one employee working behind the corner on a Sat morning taking orders and making drinks. But he had a super positive attitude even though he had quite a decent line. I love this location, will be back and stay longer next time. read more

Came to houndstooth on a weekday afternoon for a coffee and to get some work done, and I think this something I want to bring into my weekly routine! Of course the coffee was great, but the indoor space as well as the patio were great areas to get some work done! There is some light music playing, but it's quiet enough to not be distracting. I actually wonder how a cup of coffee from Houndstooth Coffee must actually taste. I have tried a couple of times to get a cup from the Domain store. I suppose I should order ahead or something because the staff seems to be not terribley interested in the customers. I appreciate calm atmosphere, but in the 10 minutes or so I was there last time, I saw a total of about 5 cups of coffee served. I would just go to Summer Moon. You can get 20 coffees in the time that I haven't received one cup as of yet. I stand in the Houdstooth line and I say to myself, "one of these days I can commit enough time to stand in line at Houndstooth cofee and get a great cup of joe". So Houndstooth has been one of my favorite coffee every time we visit our old hood in Austin. You don't even have to add any syrup, flavor or fancy milk. The coffee's aroma, deep flavor, the added sweetness to the coffee beans with fruits makes you want to toss all your coffee beans at home and never ever go to another coffee shop! If you come here please be patient as they. As you are about to get your first hand drip coffee! I just had a simple coffee latte and this was as good as my Kona coffee in Hawaii (which I absolutely indulged). Upon the baristas recommendation I purchased some of their coffee bean and I was wondering if it taste almost the same as when I purchase a coffee from the store. I was not disappointed. As soon as I grinned the coffee bean (the aroma in my kitchen!!!) wow.. soo good! And then freshly brewed in my espresso machine with milk. Best morning coffee ever! The only deduction is the price! it is quite pricey! 6$ for a simple latte and 18$ for a small bag of coffee bean!
