Bad news...this coffee company sells coffee by the pound not lattes (hence the name). Good news... they sell drip coffee for $2.00 + tax. What a deal! This family owned shop has been roasting beans locally since 1972 and focuses on helping customers brew excellent coffee at home rather than serving coffee drinks on premises. According to the store manager, Mr. Anderson occasionally comes into the store. The selection of freshly roasted beans is rather larger, with store favorites like Guatemala Antiqua, Dark Sumatra and Arabian Mocha cited as most popular. Coffee cost on average $19 per pound. In addition to coffee, the store carries loose leaf teas, mugs, candy, cards, coffee pot sweaters, brewing equipment, and small other gift items, to name just a few items. I was totally and completely enamored with this store. They had so many trinkets and interesting items, you literally could peruse for hours. Captivating environment...Loved it...

The drink was beautiful at pick-up (so beautiful I forgot to take a photo!), and I got the hype: coffee flavor was bold, mixed perfectly with the milk, and the brown sugar + miso flavors were at the bottom that you mixed yourself. All the flavors worked, but nothing to TRULY go out of your way for. It was good though! Miso adds that "nutty, slight salty" flavor like a "salted caramel" would do. Completely enjoyed!

But not so terrible that I would never come back. The staff is really nice and attentive, and they have delicious pastries near the front of the bar as well. There is plenty of seating and charging outlets so you can continue to use your computer, or tablet as needed. It's also in a really cool location with pretty art outside. My recommendation to the staff would be to amplify the syrup flavoring just a tiny bit more on their special drinks. Other than that things are great!

I still own a couple of their t-shirts, so clearly I liked the place. The issue is getting there. The lot is small, uneven, and full of bumps, rocks, and holes, which is not easy when you use a cane. They used to have a handicap space, but the line faded and the sign disappeared. I would drive by hoping for parking, but that intersection is not one I want to circle around more than once. Even going with my husband, it could still be awkward to get in from some spots. For me, it just stopped being worth the effort. These days I usually go to Dog Days instead. It is still a walk from the garage, but much easier to navigate.

Gelatoro features house-made gelato with rotating flavors and fan favorites including chocolate, blueberry chip, and strawberry. Their coffee and espresso options offerings may also include affogatos for a sugar rush. Bakery treats include cookies, bars and candy treats including Dubai chocolate. The cashier was very friendly offering me several samples needed for me to make my final selection. There is a small amount of free parking available to customers for Gelatoro. They directly source and roast elite coffees from around the world. This shop is located in an old historical home that was relocated from Rainey street. The space is very vintage and they have an amazing outdoor space that was perfect for hosting an event. My phone charge was low and the staff was super friendly and allowed me to charge my phone behind the counter before the run. Overall, Praxis is a great spot if you're looking for high-quality coffee and a great place to hang out. Can't wait to try options from their menu.

In the last couple of years, I have tried beans from many specialty coffee roasters ranging from…read morethe best local options to mail order from all over the country. Third Coast has become my 'daily driver' for espresso, as their beans offer the best combination of quality, value, and service. El Guapo has been the top choice so far with classic caramel, chocolate notes and a nice syrupy mouthfeel. Every bag has been consistently-roasted and quick to dial-in. Third Coast has so far resisted the insane shrinkflation that has affected many coffee options. As a comparison, local roaster Greater Goods is nearly 2x more expensive, and Third Coast is better. This is the best value in high quality espresso in Austin...and maybe across the US. Highly-recommended!
