Palomino is a super cute coffee shop. I went one day after work; I'd never seen it before because I live fairly far from it but I wasn't disappointed! I came on a rainy Saturday and it was actually quite packed. The parking lot was pretty full too but I did find a spot. I tried one of their specialty/seasonal drinks (the blueberry latte) and it was quite good! Not my favorite latte I've ever had but I definitely enjoyed it. Was like $7 for a small. Overall the vibe inside tho is the biggest reason to visit. There's an industrial/artistic vibe, and a small garden shop inside so there are lots of plants and greenery. It's a very nice space to sit and study. If I lived closer I would visit more! read more

Super gorgeous cafe!! The overall set up is beautiful and I love the bright green of the plants. I actually have been looking forward to returning to this cafe after last trying it out about a year ago. The staff was amazing and made great conversation. Although the environment and aesthetic of the cafe is top notch, the latte I got was underwhelming. I got the seasonal black sesame matcha latte which was unflavorful. If anything, it tasted like straight milk with a faint hint of black sesame. I wanted to enjoy it so bad. Pretty café! They have two locations and this is their original. They have a designated parking lot so that's a plus! But there is no sign indicating it is Palomino Coffee on the outside. Their doors have a pink "thank you" so that's the right place. Staff is friendly and greeted me when I walked in. I got the black sesame matcha (hot) and the latte art is pretty! As for the flavor, I thought it was ok. There was still some powder at the bottom of the cup when I finished drinking. You clean up after yourself. There are many plants for sale and they're so cute! There's indoor and outdoor seating. It was a hot day so I opted to sit inside. They have free Wi-Fi and it works great. The tables are mainly communal, so if you don't want to sit with other people, it may not be the best place for getting work done. Loved visiting Palomino Coffee this morning!! Such a fun spot to chill on the patio with some friends and we even looked at some plants while waiting for our coffees. The to-go cups are so cute, they are rounded. I ordered the cardamom mocha and was the perfect blend of good flavor without being too sweet. My friend ordered the lavender matcha and she liked it, she said it was just heavy on the lavender. 10/10 recommend and the employees were all super nice too. read more

Palomino is such an East Austin staple!! This is the best place to WFH, meet a friend, or grab a drink or pastry to-go. Strong wifi, plenty of seating inside and outside, great coffee - what's not to love?? I'm a regular here, and today there was a fall market outside, so my fiancé and I brought the pups over to check it out. I stepped inside to grab myself a latte, and I found the most magical plant oasis inside! Over the last few weeks/months, Palomino has been incorporating more and more plants and foliage into their decor, but today was just out of this world. So beautiful! They removed the roasting unit that used to be in the back of the coffee shop (I'm assuming they brought it to their second location opening soon on Airport Blvd) and instead there is a plant shop in the back now. I appreciate the huge parking, the vibey atmosphere, and the delicious drinks! And that's really all you can ask for. All the syrups are made in house, and are therefore not too sweet, which I'm sure most people would love. As a sweet drink lover, I love that you can just add more sugar yourself if you want. The interior design aspect of Palomino Coffee is an interesting adobe/desert combo with concrete flooring. It's really quite different than any other coffee shop and I like it. Once you enter from the parking lot (with ample parking spaces) it's as though you're instantly transported to the desert. It really reminds me of something you'd expect to find in Marfa. The space doesn't appear to be large but it actually has a lot of roomy interior seating with big tables, sofas, etc. In front of the shop as you enter is a patio area for outdoor seating. One of the best things about this coffee shop (aside from the coffee) is that they allow dogs inside as well as outside. Yes, most of Austin is this way but you'd be surprised how many coffee shops only allow furry friends on exterior patios. The croissants are perfectly flaky and fresh. The blueberry latte tastes like a blueberry muffin! It's one of their seasonal offerings and it's out-of-this world delicious. The blueberry syrup is sugar-free & house made. I have driven past this popular coffee shop so many times but never knew it what was in the unmarked building because they do not have a business sign. Despite this, the establishment is super busy; it was hard to find a seat inside, so I had to sit on the outside patio with my friend when we came on a Saturday at noon. It was quiet inside, with a bunch of focused people working on their laptops. It's more lively on the patio, with sun shining on my face and the sound of friends catching up. Since I am not fond of coffee, I was hoping to try one of their chocolate croissants, but they had run out, so I settled for a butter croissant. There was a beautiful shelf at the entrance with cute decorations that I always see people post pictures of on Instagram. They had a water station where you could refill your own water cup. I was surprised to learn that they sell a ton of beautiful, healthy plants. They have a large parking lot that can get filled quickly on the weekend. read more

The assethetic of this place is just lovely, so welcoming, and total cool relaxing vibe with group tables and a bar to sit and sip. The barista was cool and friendly. They have some unique drink options. The plants were everywhere they are so nice, they are for sale. Our drinks were good tasting, they make thier add in like the ginger in my drink on site which is cool however the drinks were served warm not hot and served in a glass like a drink or cocktail which I didn't care for but that's just a personal prefernece. It was a great little shop if your in the area, its worth the visit but I went out of my way to get here, I would stop by if in area not but go out of my way again. read more

I stopped by Palomino because I was looking for a place to do some work during the day. First of all, the inside of the shop is gorgeous. I loved all the plants for sale in the back. There are large windows that let in a lot of natural light, and they have free WiFi. It's the perfect place to get some work done. For a drink, I ordered the forest fig latte, which was one of their seasonal specials. The service was pretty quick and the barista kindly gave me some recommendations when I ordered. I really enjoyed the latte. I thought the fig flavor was really unique, and I enjoyed the sweetness level. My only minor critique is that I wished the coffee was a little hotter. Ok let's be real most of people who first come here come for the aesthetics. Decorated in southwest style with a ton of plants (all for sale) this is easily one of the most aesthetically pleasing coffee shops in Austin. You are surrounded by beautiful gorgeous plants and the furniture inside is all curves and the communal tables are nice. They have plenty of shared tables to sit and study - if you're hoping for your own table to study at probably wouldn't recommend this place. They also have a nice bar area to sit at. They do have Wifi and it is strong. Outlet wise they do have some scattered throughout (I counted about 5 that people can use throughout). It's also nice they have a covered outside patio area though you will mainly be looking at a parking lot and new construction. Super dog friendly - there is a sign that says service dogs only inside but there were definitely a lot of non service dogs inside. Drink wise I got the cardamom mocha and I love it because it is not incredibly sweet and has a nice depth of chocolate flavor. If you like a Starbucks level of sweetness of mocha you likely may not like it, so don't expect a super sweet drink. My husband got the seasonal snake bite which consists of vanilla citrus ginger syrup drink - definitely more vanilla and citrus but couldn't appreciate the ginger as much. I do appreciate that if you ask it for here it comes in real mugs/real plates. Food wise they source pastries/tacos/kolaches from various different stores. It is nice they have a microwave to heat up the kolaches/tacos. I got the mushroom danish pastry which I am fairly certain is from Sour Duck and it was delicious. Service wise there was a little something left to be desired. I found the girl working the cashier uppity and cold, but maybe it was because it was early in the morning. Did kind of detract experience slightly. Free parking lot in front so parking super easy. Overall I would come again to enjoy aesthetics and drinks! read more

this place was awesome. coffee is a decent price, I got an iced chai latte with almond milk, i loved it. the ambiance and aesthetic is wonderful and a very unique take on a coffee/plant shop combo. the seating area was comfortable and large with free wifi as well. the place was pretty packed when i went, but my drink came out within 5 minutes of ordering, and i was still able to find seating. i also ended up leaving with two new plants. the only reason for four stars is because the seats were kind of dirty with crumbs, and the place was pretty noisy due to lots of foot traffic. but i would definetly come back to palomino, and i would recommend this place to friends! read more

Palomino is one of my favorite coffee shops in Austin. Very chill atmosphere, simplistic decor inside, and decent amount of seating. There's two large community tables, some living room style seating and some bar seating, I think the taller guy that works there is the owner? he is super friendly. Overall most of the staff are friendly, some of them are not the super friendliest but not rude maybe just more introvert than anything. Quality of coffee is great, my go to is usually just a black drip coffee or a cortado. Their matcha is solid too, except their seasonal fig matcha couldn't really taste the fig/it was very light on the fig taste so that wasn't worth the extra price. Overall: I'd say 4.5/5 but can't give half star so will round up to 5 stars. read more

My fiancé found this coffee shop on yelp and we were really excited to try during our recent visit to Austin. The service was fast and the people were really nice. The interior was well decorated, featuring bohemian touches and (i think) local products for sale near the front. Just outside of the coffee shop, there was a small market set up for additional food items and local trinkets. We ordered a cappuccino and a rosemary vanilla latte. Both drinks had a good espresso flavor. The specialty latte in particular stood out to me as the flavor combination was well balanced. They had another seasonal drink (the miso caramel latte) that also caught my eye. Overall, I had a great experience and I would definitely visit Palomino again. read more

Austin has such a special collection of coffee shops that not many cities can compete with. I unfortunately don't get to visit Austin often anymore, so whenever I am in the city, I am extremely selective about which new shops I want to try and which coffee places I want to revisit that are tried and true for me. I got a seasonal flavor- the rosemary vanilla latte and it was DELICIOUS. You can tell that they are experts at pairing their flavors because this drink tasted very intentional and smooth. The rosemary and the vanilla undertones paired so well and left a perfect blend in my mouth. The espresso was pulled very nicely as well. The interior is very bohemian and cute. So, I was a bit bummed that the Winter Fig Matcha wasn't anything too special. I will say, that I am a tough grader with Matcha drinks, in general. It was almost $10 oat milk and tip/tax which seemed underwhelming and overpriced altogether. As for some positives - the interior of the store is beautiful with its decor and there were good workspace options throughout.
