Last time I was here I steered a way from my usual single classic breakfast taco and....oh shocker!.... Got Texas cheesesteak tacos. It was good but I sort of wish there was an option to order those as singles. It was too much food to finish in one seating. Al's I got a decaf Americano because it was later in the day and I'm not trying to anxiously look at the ceiling all night. :D The staff is super friendly and great as usual! It was way less busy after 5 pm, so it's a good time to come and get some work/study done

Remembered that this used to be my favorite place to study and get coffee in college and decided to return on a whim. Let me tell you, this place hasn't changed in years and I am thrilled! The food is a little pricey but they're pretty big portions and their coffee is TO DIE FOR. Staff are so helpful and friendly and there's plenty of outdoor and indoor seating, not to mention lots of parking which is rare in Austin. If you're ever in the neighborhood and are looking for a quick bite or a place to hangout or study, this is definitely the place for you.

This is a great place to WFH or meet a group. Lots of tables inside and outside. Inside, there are plenty of outlets you can sit near. Free WiFi makes it even easier. There is also a sizable parking lot, although it fills up quick (I think nearby businesses also use it). Service is quick and friendly, too. Nevertheless, I can't give it 5 stars just because of food quality. I was a little disappointed! Menu is extensive in terms of options, but the food itself is a little lacking. For instance, my latte was filled with coffee grinds (if you look closely in the photo, you'll see them on the rim of my mug). Burrito was also unnecessarily greasy. I would gladly come back to co-work or WFH, but definitely not for the explicit purpose of coffee or food.

This is a cute place. My visit was a spontaneous one. Service was a little slow, and my latte was a little pricier than expected, but I would have been okay with all of that if it had been piping hot. It was not. It was warm. The flavor was good, but I like to sip my coffee. This I had to drink quickly before it cooled off completely.

The atmosphere is warm and welcoming! However, the cashier was not very knowledgeable about allergens on the menu, and the wrap I ordered fell apart almost immediately. This is a cute place to hang out for a coffee and snack, but the food was not impressive for our group.

The service was wonderful. I had a breakfast taco. It was huge. They make them to order. I had a delicious soy milk drink with pistachio flavoring.

I love visiting Cherrywood once in a while to either work from home or read a book since it's so cozy! They have both indoor and outdoor seating too. I like that they have coffee and other drinks, but they also have a pretty extensive breakfast lunch and dinner menu and everything is pretty tasty. The pastries are also delicious! I would say the service could maybe be improved a little bit but it might just be because I went on an off day! Overall, definitely recommend checking out.

First time trying the coffee at Cherrywood and the barista gave me plenty of recommendations. I ended up going for the maple spice latte since it is almost fall and it was one of her favorites. It was delicious! I will definitely plan to come back when I'm in Austin again.

I love the Terra taco!! It's the perfect level of salty, and the shoestring potatoes are so fun to eat. The place has a great, chill vibe.

And BTW you can only order online with a qr code (this is always a bad customer experience imo). And just like this, the customer service isn't up to part. The fish is fantastic with a crispy hand batter. The fries were the absolute worst. Not crispy and tasted like I took some non name brand fries and threw them in an air fryer. And for $13 I expect more than 4 oz of fish. Sure there were plentiful fries but when they're that bad we both wasted money. But coming back to the service, with 3 empty bottles of malt vinegar and an empty ketchup dispenser and one guy working, of course I'm going to rate the service as bad. I knew I wanted a burger from the Crown before I started the long drive from South Carolina. Despite a literal wrench in my tire, I managed to make it there on 2/28 by 1pm, where my travelling companion and I met up with an old friend of mine from college. There was a bike swap going on, which felt about right for ATX. We ordered a beer and a burger then settled in on the porch (the part I call the "inside/outside" because it has a roof). I'm not going to say the Crown has the best burgers in the world. I guess it depends on what you want in a burger. I will say that, for the price, the Crown has the best pub burger - a good basic burger. I got a jalapeno cheeseburger, but I can attest to the deliciousness of the veggie burger and the mushroom-swiss. Back in the early 90s we used to bring my daughter with us and she would play pinball with my friend, Dirk. The bartenders at the time included a couple of guys who used to work at Duddley's Draw in College Station, TX. In the early oughts, I would come in for lunch and try to decide if I wanted the chicken tacos or a burger. Later I came in with the guy I was dating for too long for beers and a burger. Times change, Austin grows (parts are completely unrecognizable and no longer have that "vibe" that seems uniquely Austin; however, the Crown is a jewel in the rough that continues to shine for those of us who can see it. I had an awkward piece of time on 3/4/26 so I stopped by for a NA Guinness before heading out to see my aunt in Lakeway. I had the pleasure of seeing Derwin! My trip wouldn't have been complete without saying "hi." It took a minute, but he did eventually remember me! Here's to hoping it doesn't take another 8 years; because, we only get older and my friends are starting to show their age! I hope the Crown continues to serve great burgers and cold beers. I'll be back next time I make the pilgrimage home!

After reading through all the reviews, I noticed there were hardly any photos so I added 10. Parking can be an issue and you need to be careful because you could get towed or booted in this neck of the woods. They do have about a dozen or so spots behind the bar. The interior reminds me of a burned out home with a dirty concrete floor below and scorched, black exposed rafters above. Plenty of old car license plates on the wall and a jukebox off to the side. Bring a picture of your dog, because they have a large corkboard for customers and their pooches. They have plenty of good craft beers on tap and a decent full bar. This is a great place to bring your own darts or pool cue and since there are two dartboards and a pool table here. There's plenty of four top tables, seating at the bar or five booths to sit at. There's also an outdoor seating area that allows smoking. If you are hungry, they do have a food truck out back that serves up tacos, ramen, nachos, etc. On our visit, the truck was not open after 4:30pm. As a result, we just had one beer and left. It's your overall decent local neighborhood dive that has its regulars, but not worth driving across town for.

Unfortunately, we missed meeting up however my friend and I did get to check out the venue, listen to a couple of the bands and try a light dinner. The bands that we heard were Lew Apollo and Brother Thunder. The ambiance was great - the place is open to the sky and the benefit of great weather made it a fantastic day to be there. At our arrival, the crowd was minimal. We were able to sit near the stage and enjoy the music vibes. After reviewing the menu, we went to the bar to place the order. I decided to go with 2 chili dogs, and my friend ordered the steak sliders with waffle fries. They give you a number and when the board lights up with your number, then you go to the pick-up window to get your food. There was maybe a 10-12-minute wait. I thought that prices were very reasonable and the taste was good enough. We learned that the Rustic Tap is an LSU bar and they host a lot of the game watches. We always somehow end up here drawn in from the music they have from local cover bands that pours out onto the street. The live music is played in the back next to a pit that usually has people dancing but also serves as a great place to watch sports when they seldomly don't have live music. This bar covers a lot of bases whether you're there for music, sports, or just to drink. Speaking of drinks, the waiters are friendly and they have a good amount of options. We've only ever gotten beer there so can't say much about whether or not they have a heavy hand when they pour. As always this place is on 6th so drink responsibly and Uber to and from (parking around there is a nightmare anyways).
