Hopfield's perfectly fuses French and American vibes. From the candle lit tables beneath dried rose petals and chandeliers, to the bustling bar area with sports on the big screen. The menu has variety from brunch & lunch to late night dinner. As well as an impressive drink selection from wine & beer to cocktails. I chose the Charles Debourges Sancerre which was crisp and delicate. Lately, ratatouille has been my go to entree if appears on any menu. I was told by the staff that Hopfield's has the best fries in Austin so I ordered a side. The ratatouille looked like it came straight out of a Pixar film. Such a gorgeous presentation with plenty of tomato purée that was great for dipping fries into. I couldn't leave without dessert and a nightcap. A French 77 and espresso pot de créme were delightful additions to the meal. Fabulous from start to finish, with an exquisite intimate setting. I look forward to returning!

Wow! What a delightful surprise! The steak frites were fantastic. Also the restaurant is so cool. It felt like an art house.

It's been many years since I last visited Hopfields, but we're making a point to revisit some Austin classics, and this brasserie definitely fits the bill. We came for a pre-theater Sunday brunch and had a great experience. The ladies loved the Carajillo--an espresso-style cocktail that made for a delightful brunch refreshment. Everyone enjoyed their orders--I had a zingy pascal burger, croissant sandwich, French onion soup, and French toast, all of which hit the spot. Service from Clinton was stellar--prompt and friendly. We also appreciated the old-school charm of the dining area, which felt like a series of little rooms. Don't be fooled by the bar look when you first walk in--the cozy dining spaces inside are super cute. There's a small parking lot around the corner, but we opted for a rideshare to make things easier. We'll definitely be back to check out their happy hour deals. This spot is officially back in the rotation!

Went while in town for work. The front bar area is a brewery feel. The back tables are very date night feeling. I had a glass a wine and the steak frites. The steak was perfectly cooked. I loved the garlic aioli on the side which I dipped my fries into. A plus is the parking lot next door that's free. Cute vibe. Waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. I would recommend. Their lunch/ brunch menu looked great too.

Hopfields is amazing. The vibe is great. Cozy, dark, tight pockets of seatings around the space and in its different small rooms. A friend commented that it did feel like a European pub. Can't get over the cute dainty dishes. The service was great. The food was incredible. My faves for the night were the mussels, the broth the mussels came in, and the ratatouille. But everything else was delicious too. Can't wait to return.

I apologize to Hopfields for not leaving a review sooner because I have eaten here so many times and never had anything less than a superlative experience. Generally, I end up here fairly late, because few places are open past 11 and still serving their full amazing menu. On our last visit, it was the salad Nicoise to begin, which is the best salad in town, fight me. The deviled eggs with white anchovies are an incredible and potent touch. The hanger steak frites followed, perfect in a Diane sauce (that could be a touch thicker if we are picking nits), and the chocolate pot de creme took us home in delightful fashion. It's fun that a Gastropub is the best French restaurant in town. Terrific wine list and their shift to having a full bar a few years ago was very welcome. Keep it up, y'all, you are indispensable.

Cute and cozy vibe if you get seated in the little nooks. Service was friendly and helpful. We ordered several apps - oysters, beef tartar, duck wings, escargot dumplings and ended with crème brûlée. I enjoyed the food overall and think it was prepared nicely. I liked the steak tartare it had chunky pieces of beef and liked the differed capers. I wasn't a big fan of the escargot dumplings - I do like escargot and dumplings separately but was kind of meh about the fusion due to the meaty escargot/texture perhaps. Others might enjoy though! Duck wings came with a nice sauce and had a nice fry to them. The crème brûlée was amazing, it's my favorite dessert in general, and they did a wonderful job on the sugar crust and crème texture.

Tomato burrata - A dish featuring pasta with cherry tomatoes, basil, and a large burrata cheese on top, served on a decorative plate.

Went for a late lunch on a Sunday. Only a few people there, waitstaff was friendly, and the food was great. The tomatoes and burrata were perfect for sharing. The soup of the day was potato and ham, which I was worried would be too rich and heavy, but honestly it was light and perfect. I would definitely stop by this place if you are in the area.

My friend brought me here to celebrate my graduation. I also tried the French onion soup but was so excited to eat it that I forgot to take a photo. SOOOOO good!!! Definitely something you need to order! 10/10 We also ordered the dumplings and they were super yummy. If you like mussels, you will def like the food from the picture. The food and ambiance is obviously such a mood! So romantic but also perfect for friends.

Oysters - A dish of six raw oysters on the half shell with lemon wedges and a small bowl of dipping sauce, served on a decorative plate.

The Moules Frites was great. Everything else was just OK. Nothing stood out and not worth the price. They were also really skimpy on the bread for the steak tar tar and other items that require bread.

Love the food, love the color scheme, and love the staff. We've been to Hopfields to celebrate a few things now and the area in the back where they seat us does a great job of accommodating our number of people and also how loud we are. Our servers have been wonderful every time and are willing to chat with us and make suggestions. It's a quiet, accessible place to hang out and I've always enjoyed it. I definitely recommend the fries for the aioli they come with and the ratatouille is amazing!

Looking for a place to watch March Madness and it felt like a humid day packed like sardines in a Boston T car when we walked in and out of Lavaca. We were quite enlightened to walk into The Pub, right around the corner, welcoming us to a cool and dim space with tiled floor, trimmed walls, and embellishments of faux trees. The space wasn't overly packed and a good amount of TVs to feel supported by at least three different sporting events. Even a TV in the men's room (not women's). Service was great! Regular table sweeps. Eric at the bar was very kind and accommodating. What to order? You're in an Irish Sports Bar. A Guinness is a must. The heads were perfect. Pastrami sandwich. You won't be disappointed. And the Burger was actually pretty good too, and unique with touches of arugula and mixed brisket and ground beef meat. Of course, it's always a fun touch to have some special sauce offered. The only thing I noticed that seemed unusual was, not only an automatic tip applied but also, a credit card processing fee added to the bill. Felt a little odd and out of place. Of course, I'm not sure if this is applied with regular service, as we ordered directly from the bar (despite sitting at a high top nearby). Another observation: a lot of people ordered wine and even espresso martinis here. Either they know something I don't, or this place calls to a variety of people. Cheers!

Ticked away in a little complex without 79 visibility along with a couple of other places that don't seem to get much traffic either. Finally made our first visit so we could try "the best fish & chips" in the Austin area. I was surprised how big it was, they have a patio, a bar area and lots of tables I was shocked as from the outside it looks tiny. Service was fantastic which was shocking with them closing soon. The service was enough to want me to go back hopefully for us in this area they end up somewhere close by as I know how hard it is to find good workers. Pretzels were good! Onion rings were our favorite! Their version of the Philly was just okay, was very plain with not much flavor hubby didn't even finish half. But the star of the show was the fish and chips. My son was over the moon! Couldn't even finish half of it and he wanted to haha. Sad to see they will be closing their doors but hopefully the owner has something else up his sleeve as they were onto something with this place.

The mushy peas were yummy and added an authenticity to the dish. I didn't really use the curry sauce that also came with the dish. To me it doesn't go with fish or chips. I did taste it, and the flavor was great.
